naptu2:We have lots to benefit from Bazil if we get the cooperation going well. 1. We could leverage on their aviation industry to improve our capabilities with drones, which we need urgently for security now. 2. brazils beef industry is worll class. We should cooperate with them to set up ranches in middle belt states of Kwara, Northern Oyo, Benue and Kogi and the northern highlands of Adamawa, Taraba, Gombe, Platueu, Nasarawa and Bauchi. 3. Small weapons development for our police |
iwaeda:They shouldn't be jailed, but they have no one to blame but themselves. However NFF should engage local and international investment firms to organise financial management training for all players in the National Teams. In fact they should start from U17, so that they know the basics even before earning big. Even if at age 20 and earning a net salary of £20k a week, if you set up automatic deduction of £5k a week, that's N572mln in a year. Invested at NGN 2045 bonds for 15% and compounded till maturity, that's N4.6bln waiting for you in 15 years. Do the same in USD at 4% and that's $608k waiting for you. |
dollytino4real:Nowhere did he say that the hang out involved a female!! The guilt of the female folks clearly haunts them!! ![]() |
Lanrelagboi:This is all well and good. Lagos likes to do the big projects, but should also focus on getting the little and simple things right!! Funny enough, these things impact the life of the citizens much more. 1. Functioning street lights across the city 2. Functioning and smart traffic lights across the city 3. Rapid repairs of potholes across the city 4. Scheduled and consistent desilting of drainages around Lagos, particulalry in the Feb to May period, before the rain gets heavy. 5. Efficient removial of filth and garbage in the city 6. More efficient transport system with intermodal BRT type buses, water and train. Just do these and do them very well, and the lives of the citizens will be made much easier. All these plenty other activities they are doing do not help the people. |
TimeManager:Is there that much demand to fly direct from Lagos to South America!? Anyway, when the supply is there, sometimes the demand will come. Apart from direct flights to Brazil, it enables Brazil to become a hub for connecting flights to the rest of South America. At some point I plan to vist, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Chile. Also possibly Uraguay |
DeLaRue:Nigerians don't believe in that. The want to be undisputed owner! |
RhinoChest:I have what I think is a better idea. In all likelihood 50% to 80% of the electricity consumed in Nigeria is probably already by those in Band A. This is because what one Band A individual in an upper middle class estate in Lekki consumes may be what an entire street of room and parlour in Oshodi will consume. So if the current band A price of N209 is cost reflective, let the first 100Kwh purchased in a month be at N100. Above 100Kwh to 999Kwh in a month will be at the cost reflective price of Band A, which is N209. Then those who use above 1000Kwh on a month pay N250kwh. Those on the high tariff of N250kwh for consuming more are then effectively subsiding the lower income folks who don't use much electricity. If someone is truly poor or vulnerable, he shouldn't be using more than 100kwh in a month. I am a upper middle class person with 6 split ACS in my house, though only one or max 2 will be on at a time, 43inch TV, microwave, oven, large fridge and freezer, deep fryer etc and I'm only using about 500kwh a month. |
Great100000:My provider is Broadbased Communications..Fibre optic to your home for N27k for 30Mbps. Quite a few downtimes a day, usually lasting for a few minutes to like 10minutes. But zero data cap. |
Osebanjo:I hope you realise though that majority of the funds that flow into the NGX does not end up in the accounts of the companies, except they are doing a Public Offer. If you put your shares in Dangote up for sale and i but them on the NGX, how does that impact Dangote? |
fineboynl:Pay the tax first! then if you dont see what its used for, you have a right to challenge the government. If they call you out now for anti government protest, you will stay home watching netflix on your phone! |
hopexter:Whether he went to school or not. When you make money by any means, you must pay TAX! Even if you win N1bln via the lottery as an illiterate, you must pay TAX!! You pay tax on your annual income. Low income, low tax, high income, high tax! Coming into limelight recently is irrelevant. The avrage tax rate is about 20%, if he made N180mln gross last year, then he'd pay N36mln tax. N180mln is $116k. Wih all his plenty trending videos, particulalry the nonsense he's doing with that robot girl, he could have made that from Tik Tok and other apps. All the police these celebrities carry about, is it not tax thats used to maintain them? Then the police that should be for me and you, Peller will carry them, but he's not paying tax?? |
hopexter:What school did Peller go to. He probably went to school free in theis Lagos. Quality might not have been good, but without it, he might not be where he is today. he'd probably be washing windscreen in go slow. You guys who went to dirt cheap University and were born in dirt cheap general hospital should go easy in saying what has government done for you. |
texazzpete:Don't mind them! Clearly they dont pay tax. Celebrities be running up and down Lagos flaunting wealth and harrassing us with their sports cars, yet the dont pay tax. if I were in charge of LIRS, Burna Boy, Whiz Kid, Rema, Tiwa, Don Jazzy go hear am. Anyway this new Tax Law will help tighten the noose around evasion. Me wey dey pay N2mln tax a month, it really peppers me. |
bjdon:Why should the state be the one generating electricity? What a private company can do!? |
Lanrelagboi:The house tag they came to put on my house like 5 years ago is now what!!! |
SmartPolician:So every citizen owns a house? Renters n ko? Wives and children n ko? |
Morbeta11: |
Tunmise40:My friend, go and sit down! how is this daylight robbery? You think all the good things you see abroad that you wnt here in Nigeria come cheap or free!!! The guy should go and pay jare!! |
descarado:Jelous ke! I don''t have time for the petty tribal politics you folks play here o. Mine is strictly based on logical thinking and critical analysis. Lagos has been commercial capital from since when the Portugese came in 1850 or whatever and named it Lagos because of the Lagoon. Then it because a natural hub for business into the hinterland. That birthed many companies that were HQ'd here - banks, trading companies, manufacturing companies etc. Then being the Federal Capital aded to its allure. and wealth profile. And has it blosomed from there onwards. Having a port is good, but its not a game changer that folks keep saying. Insecurity and Monday sit at home sef, will do more damage to the region than you can imagine. Who is going to invest in the midst of insecurity? |
Racoon:There is a lot of ways to blosom without the port. The port is not the main issue. Afterall there is port in Warri, PH and Calabar. Have any of those cities witnessed extraordinary development on thr basis of the port being there? |
givedemwotowoto:But when we support them, do they count our own support? The North have an entitlement mentiality thats very dangerous for this country. Even if Tinubu is nepotistic, Buhari started it in his own time with almost Northern appointments. And the statement that the North is largely illiteate is simple FACT! |
TimeManager:Dunno why we need jets for this! Why can't drones handle it? Drones are fly cheaper per hour than jets. |
kidap:About time. Nidid should have left Leicester like 4 seasons ago. Hes past his prime now |
naptu2:Sounds like a lot, but its only $130k |
perdollar:Very biased list. No way Taribo and Uche Okechukwu and Mikel will be on this list when Yaya Toure is there.or Rigobert Song Even Enyeama as good as he was is not the African Best of the last 30 years. There was this Egyptian goalkeeper I don't even think Celestine Babayaro deserves to be there |
yummy001:Well said! My that would have been my response to to all the many people on here shouting Jay Jay. |
Kaido:George Weah on the bench for Drogba? Really? The best version of Weah is far better than the best version of Drogba. For a guy to win World Player of the year and European and African in same year na Beans. |
iwaeda:While i wouldn't want fuel imports banned totally. maybe we should limit it in terms of litres. Eg we could say if local demand is 35mln litres, we will not import more than 10mln litres a day consumption and allocate it to the importers. This is on the assumption that Dangote can actually meet local demand. If markerters are importing then it means: 1. The price is cheaper than Dangote 2. Dangote has excess petrol stored in tanks or 3. Dangote is exporting his own excess petrol While this is good for the economy, the price differenc of maybe N10 or N20 between the importers and Dangote is not that relevant. For the sake of incentivizing local production, its better to let Dangote increase capacity utilization of his refinery. |
Eraddray:Bear in mind, this is almost akin to a complete rebuild of the old terminal and it includes a rather signifciant road scope as well! Mind you, some new airports run into $billions. Google and YouTube is your friend. Its just a matter of size, scope and scale! |
SmartPolician:I agree with ADC on this. The new terminal 2 is sufficient and under utilised. Several times I have flown from there, how many planes to you see on ground, either about to board or deboard passengers? In most cases, the gates are empty. Though that sometimes is because the larger places have to still use the old E and D wings of T1. But all that should be done is whatever is necessary to get the Terminal 2 gates to accept wide body planes and we will be fine for now.
