I heard that as corp member, the Federal Government Budget on your head is 1.4m. This meant cover your:

1. Camping (You expected to be given a bed, a pillow, bed sheet, mosquitoe net, shoes, NYSC uniforms, camping cloths, camp feeding, transport allowance, Camp trainings on various skills, medicals, etc.)

2. Allowance (Allowee)

3. Gratuity; the little extra payment they make after payment and then your certifications.

For all the this, each corp member has a Budget of 1.4m that was under the 18k era o, I don't know for now.

While Goodluck was in power, there was a proposal to end the NYSC and instead give each graduate 500k from this money upon graduation. It of course met stiff refusals because the circle of choppings will be disrupted.
