There is no way you can tell. I have visited the prison many times. Most of the people I find in prisons are either Muslim or Christian.
I can't even remember seeing an atheist in jail so we can't tell if religion is making the world better. You might be right but we can't accurately tell because there is no evidence that religious people keep to the law any better than atheist.
