Manchester United have sacked manager Jose Mourinho on the back of poor running this season.

The 55-year-old was sent packing after two and a half years in charge of the Red Devils, who are sixth in the Premier League, 19 points behind leaders Liverpool, who spanked them 3-1 on Sunday.

“A caretaker-manager will be appointed until the end of the season while the club conducts a thorough recruitment process for a new, full-time manager,” United said in a statement.

“The club would like to thank Jose for his work during his time at Manchester United and to wish him success in the future.”

Winners Chapel International, headed by Bishop David Oyedepo, has commenced Shiloh 2018 with worshippers from at least 43 countries attending.

Bishop Oyedepo, who declared the annual church programme open on Tuesday, titled this year’s event as “Dominion”.

The church announced on Tuesday night that 4,512 foreigners from about 43 nations were already at Canaanland to witness the event.

Shiloh 2018 programme, which starts from 5:30 am to 10 pm daily (Nigerian time) in all the living faith worship centres, records massive online viewers in about 150 nations.

The annual programme will end Sunday, December 9, 2018.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Bishop Oyedepo said for “one to dominate his or her world, he or she must first dominate issues of his or her life.”

The spiritual director of Adoration Ministry Enugu, Nigeria (AMEN), Ejike Mbaka, says President Muhammadu Buhari will go nowhere if he remains ungrateful to the ministry.

In a viral video on social media, the controversial Catholic Priest accused President Buhari of abandoning the ministry despite the support and the prophecy about his victory in 2015.

Concise News had reported that Mbaka’s ministry, the Adoration Ministry in Enugu, held its 2018 harvest and bazaar celebration at his Adoration Ground in Emene, where President Buhari was represented by Senator Hope Uzodinma.

At the event, Senator Uzodinma announced N2 million for breaking of kola nut by Buhari. The lawmaker also announced that the president will build a hospital in the adoration ground.

Speaking at the event while facing Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano, Mbaka said he was almost killed for supporting Buhari, adding that even now, his attackers are waiting to see if he would declare support for Buhari again.

His words: “We were chased away because of Buhari… No one person has been employed by Buhari after Fr. Mbaka almost died for his sake,” he said.

Chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) Bola Tinubu has revealed that he is envious of Premier League side Chelsea because he is a staunch Manchester United fan.

Tinubu said this when Super Eagles captain Mikel Obi paid him a visit at his Bourdillon, Ikoyi home in Lagos.

The China-based Mikel had visited the APC bigwig to seek his support for his talent hunt programme – Africa’s Next Football Superstar.

“I’m very proud and honoured to receive you (Mikel). I’m a great fan of football even though not much of a fan of your former club (Chelsea). I sincerely tried to watch Chelsea all the time you were there because you are a great talent,” Tinubu said.

And in a chat with Punch, the former Lagos state governor said: “Chelsea is not my club but he (Mikel) is my club and we will support his project. I’m a Man United fan to the core.

“Last weekend, I watched the Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea game with one eye because I’m always envious of Chelsea. I always wish we (Manchester United) beat them. I sympathise with him (Mikel), his former club had to take a hit from Tottenham.

An Enugu-based prophet, Anthony Nwoko, has advised the self-acclaimed leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, to remain in Israel.

Nwoko, an indigene of Olokoro in Abia State, southern Nigeria, said this at a media briefing in Enugu, termed ‘Prophetic declaration’, where he declared that he was the ordained messiah.

The clergyman said the IPOB leader lacked the capacity to liberate the Igbo having disobeyed God.

Nwoko, who disclosed that he last visited his country home 47 years ago, also berated the leader of Biafra Independent Movement (BIM) Ralph Uwazuruike, saying the latter is a “playboy” like Kanu.

Speaking on Kanu’s resurgence, Nwoko said the pro-Biafra activist came out of his hiding place to “scatter things.”

The leader of the proscribed Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has stated that he does not feel safe in England.

The IPOB leader, wanted by the Nigerian government for acts of treason, is also a citizen of the United Kingdom.

Speaking to Adam Rothbard on an unidentified Israeli television station and shared on the interviewer’s Facebook page, Kanu accused the Nigeria Army of trying to kill him (in a raid on his home last year).

He said: “Nigerian Army came to my house to kill me. They killed 28 people in the process.

When asked why he wasn’t killed, he said, “My people evacuated me before they could get to me. And they smuggled me out of Nigeria.

“I would say, I’m relieved that I managed to make it to the only place that I feel safe in the whole world (Israel). I could have gone back to England, but I still don’t feel safe enough to go back to England.”

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2019 election, Atiku Abubakar selected ex-Gov of Anambra state, Peter Obi, as his running mate to reward him (Obi) for his loyalty and competence, a source has disclosed.

Speaking from Dubai, United Arab Emirates, where the Atiku campaign strategy is being mapped out, the source told ThisDay that South-east leaders and vice presidential aspirants, including Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu, and the Governor of Ebonyi State, Dave Umahi, were being pacified, adding that Atiku had given a firm commitment to spend one term and hand over to a South-easterner in 2023.

Clarifying the reason for the choice of Obi, the source said of all the aspirants for the position, he (Obi) was the only one, who did not make any demand and worked assiduously for the emergence of Atiku.

“Once he gave his commitment, he remained steadfast, lobbying Igbo leaders, Archbishops and diplomatic community for Atiku. He was the only one who never asked to be appointed before throwing in his support,” he said.

According to the source, while others like Umahi and Ekweremadu, demanded the vice presidential slot in exchange for support to the Atiku course, it was discovered that they were oscillating among the other presidential aspirants and gave no firm commitment.

“It was only Obi that never wavered,” he said, explaining that such a person would no doubt be trustworthy.

He also said Obi’s sterling qualities and private and public service records were without doubt shoulder higher than the other contestants, explaining, “Obi’s loyalty, consistency, and clear competence stood him out.”

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) says Nnamdi Kanu has been sacked as its leader and also director of Radio Biafra.

Olisa Mbakwe, the IPOB Director of Strategy and Documentation, made the announcement on Monday.

According to Mbakwe, the Pro-Biafra activist was fired for placing more value on his dog than those murdered in the struggle for the realisation of Biafra.

Concise News recalls that Mr Kanu had mourned his dog and “a few other people” in his compound, who lost their lives when military men invaded the place in September 2017 during Sunday’s broadcast from his base in Israel.

The IPOB leader had said during the broadcast, “The Army of the zoo killed my dog Jack and a few other people in my compound. I am sorry for what my sureties are passing through, but I want to assure them that they will have a special place in Biafra. I shall not be honouring the court.”

Reacting, Mbakwe described Kanu as an “insensitive and callous leader that has no value for his own followers but rather his dog, Jack whom he paid tributes to after his long disappearance from the struggle”.

Mbakwe also insisted that Kanu was a “traitor not worthy of any leadership position anywhere in the world”.

He said Kanu was removed for reasons which included, “personalisation of the Biafran struggle and derailing from the core objectives of IPOB as a grassroots movement”.

All is set for the arraignment of the immediate-past Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for an alleged fraud of N2.2bn.

The ex-governor was conveyed to the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos in a white bus manned by heavy security on this (Monday) morning by the anti-graft agency.

The court is expected to sit at 9am.

The EFCC had filed corruption charges against former governor of Ekiti state Ayodele Fayose, accusing him of collecting billions of naira from former National Security Adviser Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd.).

Former Vice President and Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has thrown at President Muhammadu Buhari, saying he has never run a successful business in his life.

Abubakar, who spoke in a statement from his media office on Tuesday, said is a successful businessman, unlike President Buhari whose 150 cows never increased in number, year in year out.

The former Vice President maintained that the free and fair presidential primary conducted by the PDP has left the APC in a “state of panic and confusion”.

A young Nigerian lady who was said to have traveled to Saudi Arabia to work as a house help has revealed how she reportedly escaped from her employer’s home.

The lady whose family thought traveled to work in Europe, had to escape to Oman after learning of the sudden death of two Nigerian maids in Saudi Arabia.

According to Satellite Times, she claimed that her new boss allegedly killed the last maid who worked for her, weeks before she arrived.

Upon discovery, she then decided to escape but couldn’t because of the contract she had signed with a recruitment agency in Nigeria and Oman.

According to the contract, she was restricted from leaving the house and was to stay indoors all through.

When all plans to escape failed, she then decided to fake madness.

She began by uttering unknown words, including Yoruba incantation, while covering her face with white powder and displaying to the amazement of everyone in the house, even guests.

Just after the ‘fake’ display, her new employer was forced to call the recruitment agency after two days and queried them for giving her a mad lady as a maid.

The new employer who couldn’t take the ‘mad’ display anymore bought a plane ticket for her ordered her driver to take her to the airport and to ensure that she is deported from the Saudi Arabia.

He defeated political heavyweights such as the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, Governor Aminu Tambuwal amongst others at the party’s elective convention on Saturday in Port Harcourt, the Rivers state capital.

But Keyamo said the Waziri Adamawa did not win the poll on a free-and-fair basis but induced the delegates financially.

He urged Nigerians to be careful in deciding who they want as president, saying the option is between a candidate with a “history of credibility crisis” and the incumbent president who is with an “unblemished record in public service.”

“We wish to congratulate His Excellency, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar on his emergence as the candidate of the PDP in respect of the forth-coming 2019 Presidential Election,” he said in a statement.

“However, we note with interest all the reports in the media as to massive vote-buying at the PDP primaries (especially with foreign currency). We contrast this with the speech of President Muhammadu Buhari in the 2014 APC Convention when he said as follows:

His words: “There were also media reports in the 2014 APC National Convention that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar freely used the same method of massive vote-buying in foreign currency, but he came a distant third. Till date, he has not denied those media reports.”

“The claim therefore that the process that produce him now as a candidate of the PDP was free, fair and transparent is suspect.

“It is therefore clear that going into this election the issues that will agitate the minds of Nigerians most would be centered around the credibility of the candidate of the opposition and the kind of values he brings into our politics.”

Director of Strategic Communications of President Muhammadu Buhari’s 2019 campaign organization, Festus Keyamo (SAN), says Nigerians should be worried about the credibility of Atiku Abubakar.

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has reportedly withdrawn Kaduna-South Senator Shehu Sani’s automatic ticket.

Concise News had reported October 2 that the senator was given automatic ticket alongside Suleiman Abdul Kwari and Barnabas Yusuf Bala by the Kaduna state chapter of the party.

Sani had expressed his reservations with the decision of the party in the state to adopt indirect primaries.

He had also declined to step down for other APC aspirants scrambling for the Kaduna Central ticket.

Ibrahim Usman (Sardauna Badarawa); Shamsu Shehu Giwa; Gen. Mohammed Sani Saleh; and Uba Sani, a Special Adviser to Governor Nasir el-Rufai, are the aspirants seeking Sani’s seat.

Senator Sani had also refused to defect from the ruling party, vowing to remain in the APC, irrespective of the said pressure from his colleagues.

Speaking on his automatic ticket, Sani had denied the reports that Senator Aliyu Wammako, Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State, and Governor Aminu Masari of Katsina intervened and pleaded for his automatic ticket.

No fewer than twenty-three cows have been killed by thunder in Ekiti State, Concise News has learned.

It was gathered that the incident, which occurred at Okeowa Eluju, a farmstead in Iloro-Ekiti, Ijero Local Government Area of the state, has caused apprehension among local residents.

While confirming the incident, a Fulani herder and owner of the dead cows, Abdulkadri Kadiri, said he was devastated by the development.

“I went to the farm after about six hours heavy downpour on Monday morning, only to discover that 23 of my cows had died.

”After careful observation, I found that there was no trace of bodily injuries on the dead cows. I want to believe it is an act of God since I did not offend or quarrel with anyone,” he said.

Kadiri, however, said he had not experienced such incident in his 35 years of business.

The Regent of the community, High Chief Joseph Alofe, who also confirmed the incident, described the victim as a gentle and peace-loving herder.

The community leader, who also described the incident as strange to the village, called on government and well-meaning individuals to assist the herder, to revive his business.

President Muhammadu Buhari may lose the 2019 election if the opposition Peoples Democratic Party is united, a US-based firm Teneo Intelligence has predicted.

According to Teneo Intelligence, last week’s governorship election in Osun State with the PDP leading is a bad omen for Buhari’s reelection.

“There is already a clear message sent from Osun State: provided the PDP remains united, and the vote is reasonably free and fair, Buhari and his APC are likely to lose the general elections,” an analyst at Teneo Malte Liewerscheidt said.

And speaking during a town hall meeting put together by Oduduwa Youth Development Initiative in Osun on Wednesday, Adeleke said he would emerge winner in all the local government areas that make up the state.

Adeleke added that his love for dance dates back to his school days when he used to go for a dance competition.

According to a tweet on its handle, N-Power noted that candidates who were not shortlisted would be considered for its tech and creative programmes.

“If you applied for any of the N-Power Graduate programmes and you were not shortlisted, you are likely to receive a message that you have been shortlisted for either the N-Power Tech or Creative programmes,” it tweeted.

A total of 300,000 persons were recruited in the second batch of the N-Power Volunteers Corps programme which took effect from August 1st.

The recent batch of volunteers would be with the scheme till July 31, 2020.

A Lagos High Court has dismissed a suit filed by the EFCC against Ifeanyi Anosike and three others in respect of alleged diversion of fuel subsidy funds.

A Lagos State High Court has dismissed a suit filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) against the Chairman of Anosyke Group of Companies, Ifeanyi Anosike, the company, and three others in respect of alleged diversion of fuel subsidy funds.

Anosike had been arraigned by the EFCC alongside Emeka Chuckwu, Ngozi Ekeoma and Dell Nigeria Limited on an eight-count charge bordering largely on conspiracy to obtain by false pretense and forgery.

But in his verdict, Justice L.B Lawal-Akapo struck out the case and discharged the accused persons.

The ruling followed a submission by the counsel to the first and second defendants, T.A Oladipupo and Princewill Ubani, that since 2016, the plaintiffs had failed to appear in court despite having been duly notified on several occasions.

Besides, the counsel to the third and fifth defendants also averred that the prosecuting counsel, Rotimi Jacobs (SAN), was notified and that the defendants also filed a duly acknowledged copy of the notification, all to no avail.

Earlier, Anosike and the others had pleaded not guilty to all the charges preferred against them as they deposed to series of evidence provided through their counsel, against accusations of obtaining by false pretense, forgery, et al, with regard to fuel subsidy claims.

The prosecution, following the evidence so adduced, appeared unwilling to pursue the case as it failed to put up an appearance on many adjourned dates for a period of two years.

Ruling on the application, Justice Lawal-Akapo noted that having been satisfied that the prosecution was duly served notices to argue its case but failed to respond, “this charge is struck out and the accused persons discharged.”

Enthused by the verdict, Anosike said he and his team in Anosyke Group of Companies were poised to take their efforts in oil services delivery to new heights, “following our well-deserved vindication from legal troubles which had bedeviled our noble ambitions in the past few years.”

Former Manchester United defender Paul Parker claims that the team’s current manager Jose Mourinho is “pulling the players down” and hence should be sacked.

Mourinho was left in a world of misery after Tottenham humiliated the Red Devils 3-0 at Old Trafford in a Premier League duel on Monday.

It was the second time Mourinho’s charges lost in the league this season after only three games.

And Mourinho, in his third season at United, is under increasing pressure after two seasons of missing out on the title.

In a chat with UK-based talkSPORT, Parker said: “Performances have been poor and too many people are out there saying he is a winner and it is just about winning. Manchester United is not just about winning.

“They’re about a style, the manner they win in. It is about a swagger. They are not doing that anymore. That has been taken away from them, that has been virtually coached out of them.

“There is no self-expression anymore, they do not improvise.

“You are paying players millions and millions and still trying to control them. That does not make sense for a club like Manchester United.

“At the end of the day, Manchester United have to change. Their style of play is not going to change while Jose Mourinho is in charge.

Arsenal legend Tony Adams has said that the north London side has not had a leader in the field since the exit of Patrick Vieira in 2005.

Adams, a former captain of the side, also believes that the lack of defensive solidity at the club has had a serious impact on the output of star player Mesut Ozil.

Mike Ozekhome (SAN) has warned the All Progressives Congress (APC) Senators against their move to impeach the Senate President, Bukola Saraki.

The constitutional lawyer warned the APC and the presidency against listening to some perverse legal opinion from different quarters that 24 Senators could lawfully impeach Saraki.

In a three-page statement he issued on Monday, Ozekhome noted that the “1999 Constitution requires at least 73 senators” to impeach Saraki.

Momodu said although he has not decided who he would back in 2019, he would not vote “sheepishly” during the polls.

The Magazine made this stance in a Saturday editorial dedicated to the ace Afrobeats singer after he launched his Pop Shop in New York, United States of America.

Vogue introduced the editorial with, ” Wizkid—currently Africa’s hottest pop star by almost any measure—unveiled his new capsule collection with a takeover of Reign in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District.”

The singer also talked about his motivation into fashion and how he intends to sustain his exploits.

“For me, when I dropped my last project, I just felt it was time to do something for my fans, so they could have almost like, a piece of me,” explained Wizkid, unwinding from the impromptu concert in the shop’s secluded backyard. “I sat down with my team, and we did a couple designs, we designed some shirts and some bandanas, and we just decided to put it up for the fans—something we intend to do like every three months, put out new collections,” he said.

Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State says he appointed over 1,000 aides on assumption of office in 2015 in order to tackle the menace of poverty among the youths of the state.

Umahi stated this in Egunkwo community, Onicha Local Government Area of the state, on Sunday on the occasion of a special thanksgiving service organised by Caring Heart Vanguards.

The governor, represented by the Secretary to State Government, Dr. Hyginus Nwokwu, said that more than 1,000 political appointees have been engaged by the administration, comprising commissioners, Special Advisers, Special Assistants, Technical Assistants, and Senior Special Advisers.

“Since my assumption of office on May 29th 2015, more than 500 Technical Assistants, 400 Senior Technical Assistants, 100 Special Advisers, 50 Senior Special Advisers and 21 commissioners have been appointed.

“These appointments were designed to make sure we fight poverty in the land, and also to enable the youths to contribute meaningfully to the development of the State.”

Former Nigeria youth coach Emmanuel Amuneke has been confirmed as the new head coach of Tanzania national team.

The 47-year-old signed a two-year deal to take over from Salum Mayanga, who was sacked for poor results.

The former Super Eagles and Barcelona forward led Nigeria U-17 team to World Cup glory in 2015 and has managed several clubs including Sudan’s Al Khartoum, Saudi Arabia’s Al-Hazm amongst others.


Amuneke’s top target will be to attempt to get the Taifa Stars Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign back on track.

Tanzania is in group L of the 2019 Afcon qualifiers alongside Uganda, Lesotho and Cape Verde. They are currently joint second in the group standing with Lesotho after both teams played out 1-1 draw in the first round of matches. Uganda leads the group with three points as they defeated Cape Verde away from home.

Member of the Reformed All Progressives Congress Timi Frank has alleged that President Muhammadu Buhari offered N150million to lawmakers to impeach Senate President Bukola Saraki.

Frank, a former National Deputy Publicity Secretary of the APC, also claimed that the money, given to each lawmaker of the ruling party, was to impeach the Speaker of the House of Representatives Yakubu Dogara.

According to a statement on Saturday, Frank also alleged that Governors Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, Abdulfatah Ahmed and Samuel Ortom were marked for removal by the presidency.
