The senator representing Bayelsa East at the National Assembly, Ben Murray-Bruce thinks that for Nigeria to be free from its current economic shackles, president Muhammadu Buhari should pay a visit to Anambra State and learn some lessons from governor Willie Obiano.
"Mr. President, forget pride and party, gather your entire cabinet and go to Anambra. What is going on there is worthy of the FG's emulation!
Yes, I know her story is getting more irritating by the day but I promise not to post anything about her after this one (unless something spectacular happens). Not long ago - in May 2016, Uju Stella once told us that Burna Boy is threatening to kill her if she does not terminate a pregnancy alleged to belong to the rapper. Following series of drama, her baby bump disappeared in one picture she posted some weeks later and later showed up in another video she uploaded on IG. More pictures of her were posted without the baby bump - hinting that she has finally heeded the advice to kill the unborn child.
OK, so I made some contacts with someone who knows and hangs out with Uju Stella in Lekki, Lagos State and my source confided in me that she has removed the pregnancy last month and was given lots of cash in the millions by Burna's family in consolation. The source also told me that Stella now drives a new car - but it wasn't clear if the car was given to her by Burna Boy's people or she bought it herself.
The main gist is that Uju Stella is no longer carrying Burna Boy's child and is now irrelevant. Next.
Following Nigeria's embarrassing outing at the 2016 Olympics in Rio, Brazil, Twitter users have called for the removal of the Federal minister of Sports & Youths, Solomon Dalung, in a poll co-ordinated by APC supporter and Premium Times writer Kayode Ogundamisi.
Mbaka: I did not attack Buhari, I only reminded him that people are suffering
Father Ejike Mbaka is known for his Adoration Ministries' prayer programmes. The Enugu State-based Catholic priest is also popular for his pin-point prophesies and pointblank warnings to faltering politicians and the upper class in society.
Last week, Father Mbaka's message to Buhari (read here) - where the vocal clergyman reminded president Buhari that he would be kicked out in 2019 if Nigeria's current economic woes persist - went viral. Now, Mbaka is claiming that he did not attack Buhari, stating rather that he was merely stating the obvious happenings around the country.
A statement released by Mbaka's media aide Maximus Ugwuoke today read:
"Fr. Mbaka merely reinstated the obvious sufferings that Nigerian are facing (which even the President himself had at points acknowledged and sued for patience and perseverance) and advised the President on the ways to tackle it, that is, by engaging economic gurus and listening to good advisers.
"Fr. Mbaka equally advised the President on being careful about how he appoints people to prominent positions, so that no region will appear marginalised, as happened in Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation board and charged the President to make sure that those around him are not misguiding him.
"He advised the President on human empowerment and making sure that those who worked for him (Buhari) during the election ought to be empowered – as one good turn deserves another.”
"He pleaded the President to begin a war against hunger, as many are dying hopelessly. He stressed that if the hunger, anger and danger continue, Nigerians may not vote for him again, as they would mistake him for the cause of these maladies while in fact he is a solution."
Saturday, 6 August 2016 See what oyibo people are saying about 60 Nigerian U17 players failing age test
Earlier this week, a report by Eurosport said that 60 members of the World Cup-winning Nigeria U17 Eagles failed an MRI age test - which simply means that they were all above 17 years of age.
Now, users on Reddit have posted over 2000 comments on the issue. Here are some of the top comments I took from the screenshots:
Wanted ex-militant leader Tompolo awards scholarship to 7 students
The Tompolo Foundation on Friday 5 August 2016 awarded post graduate education scholarship to 7 first class University graduates from Gbaramatu, Delta State, the hometown of the foundation's founder Government Ekpemupolo aka Tompolo.

Highly vocal Catholic priest of the Adoration Prayer Ministries in Enugu, Fr. Ejike Mbaka, who threw his support for Muhammadu Buhari during the 2015 presidential elections, has criticized the Nigerian president over the level of hardship facing the country, although the Holy Ghost priest heaped some of the blame on former president Goodluck Jonathan.
Mbaka during his sermon on July 23 2016, said: "As the president is fighting corruption, some of us are praying that he should also fight hunger. Yesterday, some people said that Fr. Mbaka is preaching against (president Buhari). The issue is that Mbaka is speaking as the Spirit prompts him. My job is to tell our leaders the truth.
"The landlords are crying, tenants are lamenting. Sellers are crying, buyers are lamenting. There is hunger on the streets. Many students are being rusticated out of the schools because they can't pay for school fees as the school fees are being hiked. Proprietors are distressed. Many companies are winding up. The economy is hard. Nigeria is being attacked ferociously.
"The president should look around him and know people who are advising him and those who are telling him that things are going well. The president should know that there is trouble and if things continue like this, in the next election nobody will vote for him.
"If the President would have somebody like me and I cannot be talking to him, then there is a problem somewhere. Somebody who can advise you without asking for anything and he is representing the poor masses in the country; he won't tell you lies. He will praise you when you are doing well and when you are not doing well he will look at your face and tell you.
"People are smelling of suffering. To feed is now a problem and a hungry man is an angry man. Hunger and anger will lead to danger."
He added: "It is a pity that the vice president Yemi Osinbajo called (Niger Delta) Avengers sabourteours. Got to Niger Delta today. The place where the oil that has been sustaining this country has been coming out from: No good water, no farmland, no raod, no industry. But I don't blame it on Buhari because their brother just stepped down few months ago. What did Jonathan did for them?"

"We have commenced disconnection of historic debtors, including residential, commercial, industrial and government establishments within our network."
President Muhammadu Buhari in a condolence letter sent to the family of late Rev Fr. Nicholas Chukwuemeka Tagbo praised the Catholic Church priest who died at the old age of 87. Fr. Tagbo was the principal of the famous Christ The King College (CKC), Onitsha which produced former governors Peter Obi, Peter Odili and current Anambra governor Willie Obiano.
The president's letter reads thus: "Fr. Tagbo leaves in a blaze of glory with his footprints indelibly imprinted on the sands of time. He was a cleric, educationist, administrator, disciplinarian, poet, mentor, keen sportsman and indeed many things rolled into one.
"It is remarkable that he taught three state governors, many senators, Judges, seasoned administrators and illustrious Nigerians. It is not out of place, therefore, to have described him as Principal of Principals.” He knew about 1000 students by name and taught both arts and science subjects with equal dexterity. Do they come like this anymore?
"Fr. Tagbo was invested with the national honour of Officer of the Order of the Niger, OON, in 2010, an honour that was richly deserved, considering his faithful service to God, man and nation. “At 87, he takes his well –deserved eternal rest. May the Tagbo family, the CKC family and, indeed, the whole country, be comforted at the passage of this great hero of our times."
The late Fr. Tagbo will lie in state at CKC Onitsha on 3rd August 2016 while his body would be laid to rest on 4th August 2016.
