Days after some aides of Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar reportedly "kidnapped" and released blogger and political analyst Musa Azarem, the Bauchi State governor has approved the revoking of a piece of land where the African Independent Television (AIT) is situated.

Abubakar who was elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is reportedly at loggerheads with the management of AIT Bauchi whose parent company is DAAR Communications, which is in turn owned Raymond Dokpesi, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain and national chairmanship aspirant of the party.

I got this from a Ugandan blog. According to Google Translate, the bride who was identified as Betty Sserwadda was getting married to her prince charming, one Muwala Zubair in Uganda over the weekend when she lost her senses.

Curvalicious Nollywood actress in a recent interview with Vanguard Newspapers, disclosed how she had to resort to begging after the Automated Teller Machine (ATM) at a Nigerian airport disappointed her after she ran out of cash.

Following the high rate of road accidents recorded by the transport company in the recent past, Peace Mass Transit has began a test for all drivers of its commercial vehicles nationwide at Udi, Enugu State.


Chairman of the company, Sam Onyishi, explained that the standardised test was done in partnership with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).

Rapists should have their manhood chopped off - Nollywood actress


Iretiola Doyle is a Nollywood actress and wife of business mogul Patrick Doyle. According to her, serial rapists should be served a sentence that includes the removal of their manhood to prevent future cases.

Her words:
"In Nigeria, as in almost everywhere in the world, I do not think that rape cases are handled properly often times. What makes it worse for us in Nigeria is that in advanced countries, they have strict laws and most times, the law is enforced and justice is done.

"In Nigeria, we have laws in place but are they enforced as they should be? I don’t think so. But I am happy that there is a lot more conversation about it. People tend to think that rape is on the increase but I don’t think so; I think it has always been a part of our society but you are hearing a lot more about it now because people are talking about it. That veil of secrecy has been removed and the more we talk about it, the more we blow the whistle against the offenders. Eventually I think we would get it right. We need to put stronger laws in place and enforce them and justice must be done.

When you hear about a law that castrates rapists, you may think it is extreme but when you think of the ripple effect, the damage that rape causes not just to the victims but people around them, you might want to rethink. I think that the punishment should be hard especially for repeat offenders.

"Maybe if you are a first time offender, the law might give you room for rehabilitation but if you are a repeated offender, they should cut off your manhood."

Reportedly, the 22-year-old Kenyan woman identified as Edinald Atieno was killed by her male lover named Maxwell Ochieng, a military man, whom sources say sponsored her university education, only for her to dump the man for a much younger boyfriend when she learnt he was recently sacked and had a huge bank loan on his neck.

On July 23 2016, Maxwell visited Edinald at the apartment he rented and furnished for her at Kahawa Wendani Estate in Nairobi. He chained her to the bed and stabbed her multiple times before he was held by neighbours and subsequently arrested while attempting to flee the scene.

Aisha Buhari never travelled to the United States - PDP


The Ekiti State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) believes that wife of the president Aisha Buhari never went to the United States Of America contrary to what was paraded on social media. The part reminded Aisha Buhari that everyone "saw pictures of Mrs Patience Jonathan with Michelle Obama when she visited the USA."

In a statement released by Publicity secretary of the party Jackson Adebayo, PDP Ekiti said:
"If the Presidency has not been bold enough to tell Nigerians that Mrs Aisha Buhari travelled to the USA on official visit, only a party of scammers like the APC will go on the rooftops to celebrate photoshoped pictures as evidence of visit to USA.

It is strange that wife of the President of Nigeria could travel to the USA and purportedly attended events there without international television stations like CNN, Al jazeera, BBC, Sky News etc and local stations like Channels TV, NTA, AIT and others reporting it. Or are they still ‘editing’ the video clips?

"Even if Mrs Aisha Buhari actually travelled to the USA, does that erase the fact that in the judgment delivered by the United State District Court, Eastern District of Virginia, Alexandria Division, USA, in criminal No 1: 07CR209, that indicted the USA Congressman, Williams Jefferson, it was mentioned that $170,000 was transferred from account in Nigeria in the name of Aisha Buhari to an account in the name of The ANJ Group, LLC, identifying William Jefferson as beneficiary?

"As a party of responsible and discerning minds, the PDP in Ekiti State would have elected to ignore the APC and allow the party the freedom to advertise it idiocy. This is more so that the matter is now a subject of litigation and the no one has denied the existence of the judgment that indicted Williams Jefferson and featured conspicuously at page 22, the name of Aisha Buhari as having transferred $170,000 from account in Nigeria to William Jefferson.

"Most importantly, Nigerians have witnessed more heinous forgeries from the APC, one of them being pictorial claim that President Buhari (as APC presidential candidate then) had an interview with Kemi Fadojutimi on ‘All Eyes on Africa’ TV show in London, whereas the interview was held in Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja.

"However, it is important to point out that from all evidences, the pictures circulated as arrival of President Buhari’s wife at Dulles International Airport, Washington DC could have been taken at the Doha International Airport, Qatar. Even on the official website of George Mason University and US Institute of Peace, USA where the president’s was said to have attended events, there is nothing to show that she attended any event in the two institutions.

"We have seen pictures of Wife of the Senate President, Toyin Saraki with President Barrack Obama’s wife, Michelle. We also saw pictures of Mrs Patience Jonathan with Michelle Obama when she visited the USA. Where are Aisha Buhari’s pictures with the First Lady of USA and major government officials from the country? Or could she have arrived and departed from the USA like a spirit?"

EFCC Boss, Magu Commences Total War With Core EFCC Staff

Regular members of staff at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC are complaining that they are being bullied by the Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu.
Magu, who returned a few seconded police men to their mother organisation has become panicky following series of revelations on his activities at the commission.
According to a source, Magu was “panicking because his confirmation had been deferred and is beginning to suspect any and every one in the commission for his problem.”
In June of this year, the DSS arrested one Air Commodore Umar Muhammed. Mr. Muhammed is still in detention with the state security service accused of carrying out a blackmailing cartel on behalf of senior staff at EFCC and Office of the National Security Adviser.
During a raid at the Maitama, Abuja home of the Air Chief Muhammed, DSS operatives discovered sensitive EFCC documents, plus other unauthorised documents from the office of the President and Arms Deal Committee.
A source close to the investigation believes Mr Muhammed who retired as an air commodore in the Nigerian Air Force in January 2014 has informed the duo of NSA Babagana Monguno and his Mr Magu whom he is alleged to be fronting for, that all was about to be revealed by the DSS Operatives working on his case.
Air Cdre, Mr Muhammed thinks it is the DSS attached to him that exposed all his dealings.
The source expressed that this important information from the air officer, Mr. Muhammed has prompted the acting chairman of the anti-corruption agency to embark on a personal vendetta against core staff of the commission attached to his office.
Another source with knowledge of the works of the anti-corruption commission agreed that Mr Magu was picking on regular staffs.
“Mr Magu thinks it is the regular staff that is hindering his confirmation whereas it his corrupt nature which has been exposed that is stopping any one from confirming him,” the source said.
“He feels they are a threat and may be working like DSS operatives, as some were being trained by the same Nigeria Secret Police.”
They also said that Mr Magu “has started replacing Protective Operatives attached to him with his police staff.
“Recently, Mr Magu started by victimising ‘Protective Core Operatives’ of the EFCC due to this revelation given to him by the arrested air chief who is a close ally of himself and his Godfather NSA Monguno.”
Meanwhile, in another development, document shows that a BACAB PLAZA, beside KASUPDA HOUSE, Kaduna Central Market, Ahmadu Bello Way, Kaduna State belonging to Air Commodore Salisu Yushau, who is also involved in the Arms Deal scandal were never declared to the Assets Forfeiture Unit.
Instead, according to a reliable whistle blower, the asset which was recovered by CSP Ishaku Sharu was returned to Borno born Mr Yushau who became a prosecution witness to the EFCC.
Sources said Chief Superintendent, Sharu is very corrupt. It is why former chairman Madam Farida Waziri returned him back to the mother organisation Nigeria Police, but the immediate past chairman of the commission, Mr Ibrahim Lamorde who is believed to have encouraged corrupt police officers, brought him back to EFCC in 2011.?
CSP Sharu is thought to have cut a deal with Mr Yushau not to reveal the Plaza.
There were been allegations that Mr Magu and Mr Monguno, both from Borno state, has been diverting government funds for personal use.
People close to Mr Magu are questioning why he has failed to allow an investigation into various allegation of corruption made against him.
One said “if Magu of EFCC is not corrupt like them, why is he keeping CSP Iliyasu Kwarbai, CSP Ishaku Sharu, and other police boys known with this illegalities.
“Mr Magu knows why he has not been confirmed. It is alarming the level of this allegation. Unfortunately, they would not go away unless they are investigated.”
Although a call was placed to him, he did not pick or return the call.
