APCNig: Tinubu has done it before, he can still do it again. Tinubu and other then Yoruba leaders in Afenifere were in control of South-West politics. When Afenifere divided to be unfortunate by working with Olusegun Obasanjo who is a known old enemy of the Yoruba, I Tinubu pulled out of their party then AD and single handedly formed his own party AC which transformed into ACN and later formed alliance with ANPP, CPC, a section of APGA and some PDP rouges to form APC. Today, Tinubu controls five out of the six Yoruba states while Afenifere is still trying to be relevant in just one state of Oyo.
Therefore, if Buhari and his Almajari brothers decide to be unfortunate, then Tinubu will pull out, pull the rug under their feet and strip them naked at Kano Main Market. He will form another part and rebuild it just as he did in the past. That's a myopic thinking my brother. Tinubu does not control five states in the south West but his party APC does. What I mean is that, in as much as he is a strong man of APC and also from the region, he is not in firm control of the party machineries in those five states. He may have Lagos and Osun states, but certainly not; Ekiti, Ondo, Oyo and Ogu states. Even in Lagos and Osun states, all the party chieftains are not under his control. You talk of, Fashiola, Banire, Ambode and many others in the state. Same thing applies in Osun state where they are a lot of dissenting voices. In fact, believe it or not, Tinubu will never make such mistake. |

My brother, it may happen but that will be through a rerun of the election since Emeka Ihedioha did not meet the requirement of 25% in 2/3 of the local governments in the state. No, they are not. Tinubu is a very smart politician, he knows that Atiku is more or less a paper weight politician. As such, he is not a viable option. Besides, it will be difficult for Tinubu to leave a house he contributed so much to build.
Even if there is anything concrete in this report, him and Atiku will struggle to get up to 3 governors to join them as things stand today. And such number cannot win election or make meaningful impact in Nigerian politics of today. |

KrystosCJ: We both know that this "financing" will be repaid by the Nigerian government. If you know GIZ well, they don't do this stuff for free. They're the same with FMO, Oikocredit and all other social investment managers. If they truly wanted to address the negative effects of climate change, they would not invest in cook stoves that run on non-renewable energy. They would focus on renewable, sustainable energy like solar.
Did you know that India has over 83 gigawatts of solar energy installed and in use in their country and has mandated all companies operating in their country to adopt full use of solar energy in their operations? They have enabled these companies to obtain solar energy systems by removing the tariffs on solar products and granting tax exemptions for up to five years for companies that will comply. You are wrong. Nigerian government will not repay a donation of this nature. It was before 2015 that Nigerian government borrowed to finance frivolities. I remember we even borrowed to pay salaries, and 27 States could not pay salaries before this government came and started giving them budget support, pari fund etc. Unfortunately, those things happened when we were selling our crude oil at about 130 dollars per barrel. But I must tell you, do not entertain fear again, because that era has long gone. As for India having 83 gigawatts of solar, kudos to them. Me, I strongly support the idea of removing tarrif in the importation of solar equipment into Nigeria, or better still, set up factories to manufacturer them here. Besides the government has recently entered into agreement with Siemens for incremental growth in our power sector starting from this year. And I strongly believe it will work considering the sincerity and manner in which the deal was signed. |

freeze001: And that is even where the corruption is more alarming and painful because these donor organisations are committing funds to the ministry of environment for the outrageous purchase and distribution of 2000 stoves at the unit cost of N44,000 each. Is that the best way a decent, corruption-fighting government can deploy scarce donor funds considering the level of poverty in this country? There is no incitement, the Buhari government steals both government money and donor funds without remorse!
If this is really about climate change, can you honestly say to yourself that this is the best angle/approach the Ministry of environment can channel donor funds through? Buying and distributing stoves? What is the source of fuel? AT what cost? How does 2000 stoves begin to even cut through the number of extremely poor families who depend on wood and coal as cooking fuels which we ought to be working towards reducing to address deforestation/desertification? My brother, there is no single approach to fighting climate change. This approach is certainly one of them. As for your question as per whether this is the best place to channel the money, I will tell you, in case you haven't dealt with donor agencies, know it from today, their donations are usually tide to specific projects, hence, in this case Nigerian government has no choice than to spend it where the donor has specified. For the amount per each you stated at 44k each as being outrageous, I will also inform you that donor agencies do not just donate and go. They are usually part of the procurement process. unless you are suggesting that they will partake in sharing the money as you alluded. But one thing you must understand is, the 88m amount is the total budget for the procurement; which includes logistics such as, transportation, stationaries, market survey, meetings etc. All those has been factored into cost per unit. Not to talk of the fact that we do not know the specification. Also know that all these does not happen in few weeks or months they take time. I am not justifying corruption or saying that there may be no Judas amongst the team, rather its an experience I have had with these donor agencies. Again, screaming in the manner you guys are doing will simply suggests that everything is a fraud. |

KrystosCJ: Instead of this government to remove the import duty on solar products and other solar-powered products and stimulate uptake of solar energy products in our country, they are busy looking for avenues to waste taxpayers' monies and enrich themselves through inflated contract schemes. I have observed that GIZ is mentioned in this foolish venture. Such a shame! To think that they would be involved in distributing cook stoves that represent the past, fading technology. Your suggestion to remove tarrif on solar is a good idea. But in this news, the Op just want to incite people. It is the European Union and German government that are financing this as their support for control of climate change. And not Nigerian government or tax payers money. |

After all you people have constantly criticised the government and the law enforcement agencies for the ones they charged to court. you insult them and curse the country even when the crime committed by the person is obvious. This was the same thing that PDP pastor Oyedepo has been doing, insulting the government for arresting crime perpetrators. But just ones he noticed that some members of his church were stealing his money, he applied sanctions immediately. He never remembered rule of law and court again, so that investigation will be done and allow the court to pronounce them guilty before calling them thieves. Rather he sacked them and barred any member of his church from sympathizing or associating with them. He got a bit of how painful it is. And that I wish you to experience very soon. So that we will know if you will remember your court and rule of law. |

Then, the president came out to put the issue to rest by stating categorically that based on constitutional provision, he will not be eligible to contest again. And therefore, he shall surely leave office in 2023. Yet the media still dwell on the matter as if there are no other events taking place that they need to report. |
