I'm taking about the actual writing of the books that make up the Bible, not the inspiration behind the writing. Of course we know that God is the inspiration.

It's a hypothesis because most African tribal societies like the Yorubas, Edos, Igbos etc were illiterate and they never kept written historical chronicles so we can only make educated guesses when it comes to the issue of ancestry.
A comedy hypothesis wouldn't be taken seriously in any academic or scholarly circles which is why the Out of Mecca hypothesis is not worth discussing by mainstream Historians.

Those verses refer to the concept of servant leadership. The idea that a leader must be prepared to serve his people is very different from Arabs buying and selling your ancestors as Slaves.
