Oh my lawd. This is hatred, just plain hatred. You are so out of this world, I mean how can you sit down and write up such inhuman lines just to express your hatred towards Gods creation. OLORIBURUKU NI GBO GBO GENERATION E. angry angry
the term your parents use on each other every monday morning.

montelik:
HABA. This is not a fair or nice thing to allege. Even if any of what you said is true, credit to him for overcoming d challenges to become one of d best players of his generation.
credit to him for using steroids? are you ok? do you know what this method actually entails? messi's growth with his bone problems shouldn't have been more than 4 feet. the gh-therapy helped him to reach 5ft 7inches. no one is saying messi has no talents. he is hyper-talented but even those talents were helped by his doped-up body structure, super-balance and guile. you cannot knock messi off the ball easily - that is not talent, it is the work of the steroids.

medjai:
Absolute trash! So Messi is kinda like a right-thinking, football equivalent of Frankenstein? One would have thought Marseille's Mathieu Valbuena who had a similar growth defeciency and probably underwent the same treatment as Messi would be as good as Messi.
lazy man's argument. valbuena's talent is ordinary. let's assume ronaldo/rooney also grew up on steroids. will their performance be boosted or not? compare like for like!!

We're not comparing them as strikers so these stats mean nothing. It's easy for Ronaldo to score these much goals for Madrid. . . Higuain has been out for the better part of the season and Benzema only started scoring in the 2nd half of the season and also went out injured so it's pretty much been 'All Balls to Ronaldo' for Madrid this season. Messi tracks back 40-50 yards, starts a move and finishes it all by himself and at the same time assits his teammates(he has most assits in the league, 19) and scores loads of goals.
all these stuffs are rubbish. they play in different teams, different formation, different tactics. if messi's manager wants him to track back 40-50 yards,  it is barcelona's problem. ronaldo was bought to score goals and he has fulfilled that promise. for a player who arrived in la liga barely 2 yrs ago having conquered the premier league, he has been nothing short of phenomenal.

how can they? the youths are coming through. wenger knows. miyaichi will join the team next season and he's a prodigious talent. wilshere is better than xavi as we speak. ramsey(little paul scholes) is back. walcott will easily eclipse ronaldo next season. he should score 50 goals next season. nasri is even more equipped to become the next zidane. have i mentioned arshavin(the new nedved) yet?

vermaelen is also back(better than vidic). djourou is better than pique. sczcesny is the new buffon. chelsea won't compete - buncha oaps!
arsenal fans should be hopeful. the league is yours next season. man utd players are ageing. vds, rio, vidic, giggs, scholes, berbatov and evra won't be able to run next season(too old to compete). chicharito will have a 2nd season syndrome. rooney is off to fernebache and nani/valencia are going to milan.

You are a consummate dimwit - name ONE game in which Utd went 2-0 down AT HOME and I'll agree with your idiotic assertion on the offensive side of games. What top side goes down 2-0 down at home and blames the attack? huh
you are a tool. what does it matter if you conceded away or you did at home? three points is three points either home or away. if you are not a lobotomized ape, it's easier to stage a comeback at home than to do away from home because of the home advantage. arsenal had 75 mins to score 3 goals today @ the emirates. they created chances and they could only score one miserable scrappy goal despite their 70% possession - shame on your attack.

united went 2-0 down against spurs two seasons ago and they won 5-2 in the end. they scored 5 goals in a space of 22 mins. their back five on the day were vds + rafael + rio + vidic + evra. by debosky's idiotic logic, these defenders have no quality.
you should be ashamed of yourself.

You make moronic comments all too often - our goals from shots on goal is 30%, Utd's is 35% if that that 5 percent is an indication of 'lethargy' then you should go and reclaim your education fees.
that 5% is approximately 10 goals missing from your kitty. if we spread those 10 goals and add one to each of the games you drew this season, arsenal would have won the title in a canter. there's no point beating a team 8-1 at the start of the season and struggling to score goals when you need them the most. if you beat a team 2-1 and use the remaining six goals to nick winners in games like today, arsenal wouldn't be languishing in the 3rd position in the season that had all your rivals struggling for points. look at the league table - only united managed to cop more than 2.00 points per game. i reiterate, arsenal's attack is the most useless in the top four as far as chances created per game are concerned.

What is more telling is our defensive performance - Utd's conceded 6 goals less than Arsenal, which is 17% more goals conceded by Arsenal.
this is also a useless point to bring up. the goals conceded does not really affect the points copped. i will take a scoreline of 100-99, to 1-1. a reetard like you would criticize the team that conceded 99 goals but the fact is, they got the 3 points whereas the team with the tight defence let in a goal but had one point to show for it. winning is the name of the game. focus on the points won, not the goals conceded and you can only win points by scoring at the other end.

Again, logical reasoning and arithmetic declare that 17% is bigger than 5% - showing defence is the bigger problem.
this is the definition of foolishness. when united battered blackburn by 7-1. five excess goals were scored. whether the match finished 2-1 or 300-1, the main point is getting the 3 points. those excess 5 goals are what makes the 17% you keep harping about which is a ridiculous point to bring up.

Conclusion - Sharon is no more than a tout with above average typing skills. Do you still have your dunce cap handy? grin
half the square-root of my iq is beyond you. grin you want to blame your defence when nearly all your strikers have been useless this season. van persie only came to the party in january. arshavin is shyt, so is bendtner, walcott is lethargic and even nasri(he had a stinking 2nd half of the season). chamakh has also been non-existent since november(the last time he scored a league goal).

I was telling hannie and other 'offensive' proponents that DEFENCE is the issue with Arsenal. If we didn't concede two silly goals at the beginning of the game we wouldn't be in the position we are in now.
rubbish!

the attack should have scored 3 goals. you conceded the first two goals in the first 15 mins, you had 75 mins to win it and you failed. compare this to united's comeback at blackpool and west ham. arsenal's attack is worse than their defence - always trying to walk the ball into the net when shooting at sight is the best option. compare your number of attempts to the goals scored and see how pathetic your attack can be.

Offensively we were good - we deserved to have a penalty and had a legitimate chalked off today so I can have little complaints about the offensive side of things.
offensively, you are the most useless.
arsenal copped 475 shots, 227 shots on target, 69 league goals scored.
man united had 446 shots, 206 shots on target, 74 league goals scored.

the stats tell me your attack is lethargic.

They still don't amount to half of the amount
kos = 10, vermaelen = 10, squill = 4.
24 isn't up to half of 40? cheesy cheesy cheesy

It hasn't - Tottenham has dropped out of the top 4 not Arsenal. The point is (if you missed it) that you cannot describe being in the top 4 as 'achieving nada' if it involves spending 150m to move from 5th to 4th.
as far as arsenal are concerned, being in the top 4 is achieving nada. how did arsenal who won 2 league titles in 3 seasons become contented with only being in the top four.

The CC cup was a one-off gaffe - errors like that are one in a million. Utd's game? Off the back of an exhausting CL game played with 10 men for long stretches, it's understandable.
these same errors have been constant for the past 6 years(that's ma point). not winning anything this season isn't such a failure. however, combined with the series of events since 2005, it's a gigantic failure.

Again, don't pick soundbites without applying some critical reasoning - Squillaci is 4th choice. Vermaelen playing with Koscielny and Djourou would involve fewer errors over the season, and would've made Kos and Squills bedding in period shorter with some experience.
is there any empirical evidence kos/djourou are better than squillaci? who made squill the 4th choice?

Blame dodgy officiating - a clear cut penalty and an idiotic decision denying a clear goalscoring opportunity.
dodgy? how was dunne's tackle on wilshere a clear-cut penalty? arsenal fans go kill me o.

However, let's even talk about money. Darren Bent cost £24m - there is no striker in Arsenal's history that cost that much. grin
you sold adebayor for £25 million, eduardo for £6 million. you had the chance to splash that amount on darren bent but you preferred chamakh on a free transfer.
is that my fault? grin

So Arsenal are also 'yet' to spend the money.
kos, squill, galindo, vermaelen

Man Citeh spent £150m his season alone to get to that position, and you glibly dismiss it? Achieving what cost others £150m to achieve at a lower cost is an achievement.
man city spending £150m did not affect man utd. why did it affect arsenal?

It's not, but that is the single largest determinant missing from Arsenal at the moment.
hehehehehe. so money is what arsenal lacks? it was because of money they lost the carling cup final? it was also because of money united's kids kicked them out of the fa cup? shocked shocked

Both goals were caused by Squillaci playing Bent on and not Vermaelen.
i have been told had vermaelen been fit all season, the mistakes at the back would have been reduced to the barest minimum.

half-time at the emirates, 2 goals down, no shots on target(let's blame money). grin

Utd also made £80m from selling Ronaldo in that same period - dunno about you, but 80 is bigger than 40.
united are yet to spend the ronaldo money. bebe + chicharito + smalling is not even 1/4 of ronaldo's money.

It is only a disaster when you have spent sufficiently to achieve it then you fail. Arsenal's failure to win can be directly linked to a lack of expenditure. Continuously qualifying for the CL on a shoestring transfer budget is no disaster.
4 teams qualify for the champs league in england. by default, arsenal are the 3rd/4th best team in the league. they have not achieved nada qualifying for europe.

Yes failing to win is clearly undesirable and highly frustrating, but when compared to the resources available, then you cannot declare the performance a disaster.
so it's all about the money, right?

vermaelen on the pitch, darrent bent has scored a brace in 15 mins! 6 goals in his last 10 games against the gaynners. grin grin

Second is not a disaster given the expenditure Arsenal has made - there I said it.
this is heart-breaking! 2nd is not a disaster for a team that has failed to win a league title in 7 years, a team who has refused to win any title in 6 years? now i know why failure is in the bloodstream of arsenal fc. 2nd isn't a disaster on it's own(e.g man utd coming 2nd last season) but with arsenal's circumstance, 2nd is a massive disaster.

debosky:
Wenger has 'forgotten' how to win, yet the difference between the expenditure in years before previous expenditure and expenditure in years before this season should be an interesting comparison.

It is instructive to note that Arsenal has failed to win a title since Abramovich's cash began to kick in, and in that period Utd have bought players for £30m+, and now Citeh have come in.
arsenal also made £40 mil selling adebayor + k.toure. what happened to that money?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (A New Strength, A New Hope). by coogar: 3:29pm On May 15, 2011
debosky:
Singular season analysis will often result in wrong conclusions, but when a 3-4 year continuum is assessed, the impact of financial clout is indisputable.
but the question still begs, why have arsenal refused to spend?

Over the past 3-4 years, Citeh have moved from being a top 10 side to one that has now won the FA cup and are in the CL next season.
they have bought quality players. arsenal don't lack quality players. 90% of the arsenal players play for their respective countries.

Over the past 3-4 years, Chelski has won at least 3 trophies.
-ditto-

As for Arsenal's account showing there is money to spend, I challenge that assertion - the club must maintain a buffer of funds above and beyond what is required by other clubs for two main reasons - one for loan servicing (which clubs like Chelski and Citeh don't need to do) and secondly a provision to ensure that if the club fails to qualify for the CL for one season the club does not run into financial difficulties.
a club that makes £94 million per annum on match-day tickets alone? how can failing to qualify for champions league in one season run arsenal into the pits? your uncanny ability to overstate things is peerless. when liverpool failed to qualify for the champions league, why haven't they relegated despite the fact that they make 50% of arsenal's revenue? t

If Chelski fail to qualify for the CL for any reason, Abramovich will simply inject more funds, ditto for Citeh and Sheikh Mansoor.
arsenal's revenue should bail them out. arsenal are the 5th richest club in europe.

I don't know about other gooners, but personally I set a few expectations for summer transfers to bring us up to speed to make a title challenge. The required reinforcements have never been made to the level required.
i will do some diggings to compare your expectations then and what you are spewing now. i hope to zeus they are consistent!

Messi has since moved beyond the CR comparison. He's now being compared to true legends of the game and quite a number consider him the greatest of all time.
I'll tow the line of Juan Carlos Garrido(Villareal's coach). "Comparing Ronaldo with Messi is a sacrilege"
arrant nonsense.

latest stats,
ronaldo(37 league goals in 32 apps), 50 goals in 52 apps
messi(31 league goals in 33 apps), 52 goals in 54 apps.

you might have to tell juan carlos garrido he is a plonker. it's also fair to say if ronaldo had the same team-mates since age 13 like messi does, he would have been even greater than the stats he is producing for real madrid. we often hear no player is worth the big-money clubs splash on players these days. since ronaldo's move to madrid, his £80 million outlay has never been criticized. 83 goals in 87 apps since joining real madrid can never be replicated by any player in a new club, new team-mates, new environment, new manager.

yet, we compare cristiano to this freak of a human called messi. if fair is fair, messi shouldn't even be discussed as a player. he grew up on steroids. his physique, bone structure did not develop naturally like normal human beings. he received excessive gh-therapy to reach the height he now stands. if you look closely at his legs you will see that they have the shape of a weight-lifter, you can also compare the size of the muscle's on his legs to the size of his muscles in his upper body. it's over-dimensioned and that's a good indication of outside stimuli. look at a natural athlete's (like ronaldo and rooney) and see the difference. they all have a symmetric body unlike messi who did not grow like normal humans.

If your postulates are correct that means Wenger is the cause of Arsenals problems.

BTW didnt Chamakh play as a lone Striker in Bordeaux?
premier league is different. i actually saw one of his comments earlier in the season how the english league is too physical. that after each game, it takes him a long while to recover from the kicks, elbows and shoves he cops during the match. he is too soft for this league, he needs help/partner to flourish and wenger offered him none.

"I was never in such a state at Bordeaux. Things take on a new dimension here. Against West Ham I was in incredible pain with my neck.

"It was impossible to turn my head. Every ball that's contested here I get ploughed into - and the referee doesn't blow for it."

The 26-year-old added the English game had different expectations when it came to tackling.

"When people pushed me in France, I fell down and got a free kick," he said.

"When there's a hard tackle here, I have to get up and play.

"After a Premier League match, I walk off with my body aching, with scratch marks, stiff muscles. Three days later, we go again."

they cannot afford to. who should they sign?

There should be a bare minimum for a coach. Not spending shouldnt be an excuse.
it shouldn't be but it seems gaynners have bought into the nonsense. their debt is far lower than their rivals and yet they have refused to spend and to what end? is there a special prize for having no debt?

LVan Gaal didnt spend last summer but that still is not an excuse for him not to get sacked when the team was bleeping up, This was a coach who almost won the treble less than 12 months earlier.
i agree. bayern's brand will attract any top quality manager in europe. they have the history, the tradition and a special brand. arsenal do not. if wenger resigns, who would they sign?

Wenger is the one who hypes his below average players to stratospheric level.
of course he does. when a club fails to win trophies, other intangibles become important. youngest squad, finest boots, sleekiest pitch, most handsome groundsman, etc.

He plays the game where he buys duds and expect them to turn to Chicharito. Its a safe game for him, If he wins he can brag he he loses, he claims it was because its cheap.

Its like a student who doesnt read for exams, If he fails he would claim that it was because he didnt read, He would say "I was able to get 30% by clubbing all semester, just imagine if I read for even 3 days", On the flip side if he passes, he would say " I passed despite not reading, Am I not a genius?"

You get?
he plays it safe. this is why he has refused to splash. if he had spent £70m like chelsea did in january, surely the fans would be calling for his head now. but as it is, the excuse is still there - the club is broke and he cannot cop quality strikers and yet their accounts suggest they have more than enough to get quality players.

on a more serious note. . . . .in your own opinion, what do you think arsenal have to do to win a title? surely, there must be a solution to their fruitless campaigns. thoughts?

Or this

Obafemi Martins = 1;  ( Diaby + Walcot + Song) Bendtner = 0
dayokanu, your maths is atrocious. any number with an exponential of 0 = 1 grin grin
unless of course you are assuming bendtner is NOT 0 but -1000. cheesy

Congratulations AW for another empty season
The best transfer we will make in the summer might just be trading off Arsene Wenger and bringing in a manager that is ready to win trophies
that's harsh on arsene wenger. he had a plan at the start of the season. he beefed up in the areas arsenal were lacking last season. he bought koscielny, djourou stepped up and no one knew vermaelen would be out for a whole season. the midfield was also beefed.

wilshere was pulled back from bolton. song, denilson, cesc, nasri, walcott, arshavin, rosicky, etc were all good enough to mount a serious challenge. finally, wenger signed chamakh - an addition to van persie, bendtner and vela. the only mistake he did was not signing a quality goalie - but szczesny stepped up later in the season.

arsenal failed to win anything this season because of the players themselves - nothing to do with arsene. i think 80% of arsenal players are grossly overrated or punched above their weights to create a false hype. when the push came to a shove, they all failed.
