25Calibre: What are you saying, you are all over the place. How is that an impractical scenario? You said the PM is everyone's boss, so by inference, that includes everyone in the country, public & private sector workers right? Or don't you know the meaning of Boss, go and check the meaning in a dictionary or do you mean a ceremonial boss?
stop chatting poppycocks....
by boss, i mean he has access to every organisation in the country, he cannot be denied entry into any office and his wishes must be respected at all times as long as he doesn't infringe the rights of anyone....

Anyways despite Cameron not having any authority over NHS staff, here is a link of the fate that befell that surgeon who yelled at him. Now I expect you to come up with another nonsense.

http://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/health-and-families/health-news/gardening-leave-for-surgeon-who-railed-at-clegg-and-cameron-2301353.html
what has this gotta do with the argument? did he walk cameron out? yes. did cameron obey his orders? yes. did the surgeon conduct himself in a professional manner? no. did the surgeon yell whilst passing his message across? yes. even if it wasn't cameron he yelled at, 2-3 patients can write to the NHS board and have the surgeon disciplined.

remember what i told you about the stiff upper lip culture?

Nobody is talking about Nigeria. Everyone has different standards of what they regard as disrespectful, a boss can correct in a harsh tone, without swearing or name calling.
no yelling, no name calling & no swearing. we are talking about an office environment here not in a pub where drunkenness can be used as an excuse.

And even at that, some would even swear, it isn't unheard off, I've seen it happen to people before.
a boss would use swear words at his employee in an office? hahahaha - you must be living in a parallel universe.

I've seen Ed milliband caution a female MP live on television, as a matter of fact, he told her to leave the interview immediately.
did he yell?
did he use swear words?
was there any name calling?

stop scraping the barrel. draw excellent analogies instead of looking for scenarios that are not similar to what we are talking about.

hopefully, this would prompt birmingham to play him in every game. these lads need game time & the experience. lingard would come back and fight for a first team shirt.

25Calibre: Lol so the prime minister can tell you what to do or come into your organisation and give you orders? So the PM can walk into HSBC or Barclays and dish out orders? As I said before, try to understand the parameters of the prime minister's powers. There are limitations to his powers.
don't bring up impractical scenarios....
cameron was not dishing out orders when he was walked out of that NHS hospital. he was visiting & making jokes with bed-ridden patients. i don't see how you can draw such parallels to the PM barking orders in a bank.

If you had read my earlier posts, you could have seen I was saying the same thing. If a boss behaves inappropriately towards a subordinate, then walking him/her out would be the least of his/her worries
if you agree with this, then what else is the problem?

However a boss stepping into the office of a subordinate to make some corrections or give caution/reprimand which is sure in line with company practice, are you trying to tell me the subordinate can walk the boss out just because he/she doesn't like what's been said ( which is what that girl is saying )
it depends on how the boss conducts himself while reprimanding his employee. he cannot use swear words, yell or shout. the brits call it stiff upper lip. you would really try before you see them opening their mouth wide to shout in an office environment - regardless of how angry they are. it's simple etiquette!

So you haven't seen a boss giving somebody a dressing down before, you guys make laugh.
of course i have.....
but it's nothing compared to how bosses dish it out in nigeria. a dress down is different from a verbal abuse nigerians are generally known for. bosses correct people here but with respect. no disrespect and no name-calling.
Family › Re: For Abused Wives, Girlfriends & Men!!! by coogar: 3:10pm On Sep 21, 2013
25Calibre: Hahahaha! Very funny!! You obviously don't know the parameters of the prime minister's powers. Maybe you don't know your rights after all.
so the leader of your country is not your boss? don't swing any technicality here, same ish applies. cameron had cleared himself on that visit with the surgeon's employers but it seems the surgeon wasn't aware of the PM's visit thus the hullabaloo!

The incident with the prime minister in that ward, the second paragraph of my last comment partly covers it. Regardless of rank or position, protocol/organisational standards must be observed at all times.
you are now back to what i was trying to say earlier. for an employee to walk his boss out of his office, he must have stepped out of line or break the ethic code of that organisation. mutual respect must be maintained at all times.

I'm done with this debate, my message has been delivered to its intended target.
well done.....

stillwater: Lol, a visiting pastor was preaching one day in my church and he recounted how when he newly came into the states he was always barging into his colleagues offices asking for one document or the other, you know how we Nigerians do it, you just walk into your colleague's office (that you have lunch with lol, so it's not as if you are not office friends, this is not your boss) and ask for a document or the other. It was one small girl, a subordinate, that reported him to HR that he intrudes in her space and his presence and manner of speech and height threatens her, lol. He was cautioned to always book an appointment first or call in to see if the person is willing to see him at that moment. The girl knew her rights.

the PM is everyone's boss....
if the surgeon could do to the PM, he would do far worse to his employers. he's right to have asked them out before they bring bugs & infections to his patients. cameron even agreed with him.

Even Julia gillard was once told off during an interview. What honestly and truly is the big deal.....someone called our prime minister an arrogant sod who has no respect for women...he came out and defended himself

Ibime: This is not a new phenomenon. RDMs UCL run, Mata does not last more than 60 mins on the pitch. Salomon Kalou was more important to victory.
what was chelsea's possession stats in those games? what's the point of having a creative player in a game where parking the bus is the tactical approach?

when teams are chasing a game too, they sacrifice defenders & put more creative players in the final third. that is when you see pique, vidic, etc playing as centre forwards. so it's more to do with tactics than mata's work rate.

Ibime: This is the simplified view thats been making the rounds on these pages for the last two years, and a nursery school interpretation of team balance, one shared by Chelsea execs.
it was flawed because chelsea had ramires who never sits his arsë in his position to hold. ramires picks the ball up & run with it into the opposition half and when he's dispossessed, there's a gaping hole in front of the centre halves. lampard is also guilty of this & this is why i think mikel obi is the best in chelsea at what he does.

November last year it was easy. Just play Mikel and Ramires in the pivot and let the MaZaCars attack they said. The result was disgrace at Shakhtar and Juve and numerous others.
get 2 disciplined holders in the pivot like spain does with alonso/busquets in the last euro 2012 & let the craftsmen do their magic.

I would love to be the coach facing this Chelsea team. It would be so easy to exploit and beat them.
bayern couldn't beat them in 120 mins and chelsea had 10 men for a quarter of that period. it's not that easy.

OMO IBO: I was crestfallen when I read mourinho's comments regarding Mata.

Which kind 'gbana' mourinho dey bazz??
mourinho likes mechanical players.
to be fair to him, oscar is talented and also seems to be a hard worker. mata works less defensively but what he creates is miles heavier than any other player can muster at chelsea.

why can't jose let the 4 rotating forwards do the attacking bit of it & let the back six worry about the defence. one of the wing backs can support the attack on occassion and that's 5 in attack, 5 in defence. doing that would free up mata & he won't be tasked with chasing opponents into chelsea's box.

CFCfan: Mourinho seems to be largely a media creation. The likes of Benitez, Ancelloti, Heynckes, et al all have great tactical nous.

It was Mourinho who converted Mikel to a defensive midfielder, now he is about to do essentially the same thing to Mata! I can now see why Man Utd never considered him as a replacement for Fergie. He may have deployed Rooney as a DM shocked
.......and play van persie as a centre-back!!!

‘Oscar is my No 10 and, if somebody tells me that Oscar is not Chelsea’s best player since the beginning of the season, I would have to disagree,’ said Mourinho.
He was asked, is it up to Mata to dislodge Oscar?
‘Yes.’ Can’t they play together? ‘They can, when he adapts to it.’
Mourinho explained he wants Brazil’s No 10 to be Chelsea’s No 10 and the others will have to fit in around him, including Mata.
‘He (Mata) played against Everton from the start and you can analyse his performance,’ said Mourinho.
‘He played against Basle, not like Ba or Mikel coming in to rescue the game, but he came on when the team were winning 1-0 and had specific tasks.
‘The reasons why he’s not playing so much are things I can speak about with him but not with you.’
jose has lost the plot. he must have something against spanish players for the way he was treated at madrid.

I don't think abuse happens only at home, it happens at work and "cooperate" organizations. A wonderful scenario......a banker gets yelled at by her boss and because she works in the cooperate world, it is okay for her to stomach the insults just because she works for an organization and being treated like crap is norm.... If Nigerians in this century still thinks its okay for a boss or even a fellow worker to bully or harass their mates especially in that persons personal space then I am sorry but that country would never get better neither will its citizens.
this woman - i have warned you times without number to get me out of my village so i can enjoy some of my human rights. december is the deadline before you start seeing me in your dreams chasing you with a machete....

the truth is - a lot of nigerians are just educated, they don't know their rights either as employees or even as citizens. don't be surprised a lot of people posting here are used like housemaids in nigeria. it's like modern slavery. i remember parking in an open space one day when a useless security man came to tell me the space was reserved for oga madam's daughter that was doing her industrial attachment in the company - i told him as angrily as i can "it will not be well with oga madam's daughter & her space" and walked away in my manly strut.

did an orthopaedic surgeon not walk out david cameron & nick clegg(prime minister & his deputy) out of his hospital ward in the UK when he thought they weren't hygienic enough to go near his patients? he simply told all of them & the dirty camera crew to fück off. he wasn't even polite about it and cameron simply agreed the surgeon was right to tell him off. it's his space and if there should be MRSA infection, the government & the media would not hesitate to have the surgeon sacked.

When AVB was sacked, Emenalo immediately recommended Benitez for the job and claimed Benitez was his ideal coach but fan protest in the next game persuaded the board to go with RDM.
this is a lie from the pits of hell....
the protests and the opinions of chelsea fans have never counted in the grand scheme of things. emenalo interviewed RDM & he was satisfied with RDM n roberto was promoted.

did you not tell us torres would be booed out of the bridge by chelsea fans in january? remember you were a part of the #torresout movement. 8 months later, torres is still very much alive. another evidence that the rants of chelsea fans are inaudible to roman abramovic.

Stop typing crap about a club you know nothing about.
look at this mumu.....
i wine & dine with season ticket carrying chelsea fans and none of them has had anything negative to say about emenalo...

they all think he's restructured the youth system and the loan deals have been quite impressive.

Even quoting an inane article which lauds Marko Marin as a great signing? GTFOH.
with the benefit of your blurry hindsight.....
was marin even given the chance to settle down & perfect his craft? if vidic & evra were chelsea players, they would have been booted out after the stench performance they produced in the first few months of their arrival at old trafford...

The simple question is how did Emenalo spend close to 300 mills only to leave the team performing worse than normal. This is a team that went from 2006 to 2011 with almost zero investment yet performed more consistently than a team Emenalo spent hundreds of millions on.
you are plumbing new depths of stupidity - depths jacques cousteau wouldn't even dare. i think i need to school you about the role of emenalo here before you tie yourself further in tortuous knots.

emenalo's role is to buy players that are chelsea players and not the manager's pets as the life expectancy of chelsea managers are lower than a mosquito. this allows managers coming in to work with what's available instead of trying to revamp and scrap what the previous manager was working with.

mourinho is neither idiotic or blind - he knew what he would be working with before signing the dotted lines to become chelsea's gaffer and i am sure he must have been satisfied with the pool of players emenalo had gotten before agreeing to work with chelsea. if you don't agree with this then you are either demented or bi-polar!

Nigga busy signing 11 wingers in 18 months and claiming he's technically directing.

we were here when jose was given the free rein to buy players. mediocres like jarosik, huth, del horno, kezman, boulahrouz, shawn wright phillips, etc filled up the shelves....

emenalo bought MAZACAR, lukaku, KDB, schurrle, courtois, azpilicueta, and many other young players and you are here spewing nonsense. it's up to jose to work with the players he's been provided. the players at jose's disposal are good enough to have beaten everton and basel - one has to be a cretin to dispute that.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by coogar: 10:45pm On Sep 20, 2013
EMENALO
So after a bit of role-shuffling, we finally appointed Michael Emenalo to the full time post of Technical Director at the beginning of last season. The bulk of his duties involved being in-charge of the club's scouting program, including pursuing priority targets himself, along with a bit of academy structure management.

Now at the time of appointment, he wasn't really marked as one boasting ace credentials for the job, but a year on, I think the guy's done a fair bit adding his own flavour to the team's well underway personnel revolution.

To be honest, there isn't a whole lot in the way of direct links between Emenalo and all of our signings over the past season, but it'd be a pretty fair statement to say he's been quite involved and basically right in the mix with each & every capture. I mean, come on, restaurants just don't function without a head chef do they?

As already noted, the first significant move of Emenalo's stint was the rapid redistribution of duties carried out within the scouting program, with the recruitment of Scott McLachlan from Fulham & Mick Doherty from Everton to boost the club's domestic & European departments respectively. The size of the department was trimmed while the best of the lot were put in the driving seats.

Two prominent things I'd say Emenalo deserves credit for are cutting the impending transfer sagas of Lukaku & De Bruyne short. We'd been linked to both for a steady year prior to his appointment, and shortly after, a deal for Lukaku was swiftly concluded, while KDB followed suit a window later.

While AVB was the mouthpiece of the paradigm shift that was our new youth-centered transfer policy, Emenalo for me is again the one who takes the marks for contributing from the core of it. Often for young talent across various leagues, a Young Player/Achiever/Etc of the Year award is the instant springboard to becoming the next big hot prospect [see Neymar, Hazard, Vrsaljko], so credit to Emenalo & his team for snapping up Thibaut Courtois before a rival shark could so much as bat an eyelid. Special mention to the capture of Patrick Bamford in a loosely similar circumstance.

Courtois was an excellent catch to kick things off, and soon Ulises Davila & eventually Kenneth Omeruo followed. Emenalo also deserves plenty of credit for personally supervising the club's loan policy, even down to receiving training reports, ensuring just about all of our youngsters abroad have found suitable leagues & heaps of playing time to keep their developments on expected track. The loan moves of Kakuta to Bolton & PvA to Wigan weren't questionable choices to begin with, but then again, it was impossible to have seen coming the tangles the clubs got themselves mired in.

The signing of Marko Marin was another excellent piece of business handled by Emenalo & his department of merry men. Urgent & on-the-quiet, it also carried a little illustration of exactly how advance planned an approach is being ushered in at the club, since non-window purchases for the senior team was something Chelsea were barely known for doing. The subsequent signing of Hazard was the crown jewel, but I wouldn't call that so much a novel Emenalo idea at all since we had strong interest from a far earlier stage.

Looking at things back home, the academy & the youth system, his role last year appeared to be of a monitoring capacity, with both assistant first team coach Steve Holland & reserve manager Dermot Drummy, along with youth team manager Adi Viveash reporting to him. We won the FA Youth Cup on the back of a series of tantalizing performances, so, eh, Michael, whatever you were doing, you doin' it right!

Umm, in other news, the academy's building more houses and stuff. No, Emenalo will not pick the drapes.

All in all, it's been a highly productive year in the staff back-quarters for Chelsea, everything kept nicely ticking by our new Technical Director, we've been continually linked to the best & the brightest, while our youth team & academy have gone from strength to strength, even boasting possibly the best assortment of U18 talent in the country.

Things are only going to get more arduous for him, what with NextGen, the revamped Reserve League & the additional responsibilities EPPP will bring looming, but all contributions thus far considered, the man who the tabloids had cynically introduced as a kiddie-girl team chaperone [read coach] when he finally got the push for the top job has certainly shown he has the goods and know-how to not only keep up, but also become an important pillar in what are a tottering few initial steps toward a much needed policy progression & structural overhaul.

Ah yes, having the owner's ear counts too. Having to stand beside bad breath Gourlay all the time does not.
while season ticket carrying fans are busy lauding emenalo's efforts, ibime is assassinating his character on NL. for your information, it was due to emenalo's foresight that RDM was promoted to become chelsea manager after AVB was sacked.....we all saw how that turned out well for chelsea!

afrodoc: LOL u just proved my point! cheesy Balance and Perfection are NOT the same thing. U just proposed that AC Milan were LESS UNBALANCED than other teams right? You can improve on balance? Well you can't improve on perfection, u cant be more perfect or LESS UNPERFECT! u r either perfect or u are not.
the issue is not black & white - there are grey areas. you can be 60%, 70% or 80% perfect. it's never perfect/imperfect scenario cos that's the territory you are charting. for you, a team can either be 100% or 0% and that's flawed in principle.

A team can be be balanced but not perfect because balance is only ONE of several parameters to be assessed for a team trying to be perfect.there are other parameters like quality of the individual players themselves, team chemistry etc.
there's no 100% balanced team. too many variable factors come to play to achieve that which are physical, mental, etc. ronaldo is a world class talent but he might have a bad day on a matchday & stink up the whole place. his poor performance would upset the balance & you can never have the 100% you aim to achieve.

Balance and quality arent the same. A perennial midtable team might be more balanced than a top 5 team.
this is true....
it's true because you used the phrase in bold. more balanced, less balanced are the grey areas i was talking about earlier. no team can boast of 100% balance or 100% perfection. it's always an incremental parameter!
We will most likely line up like that. The only changes might be the right back and the left wing. The wing especially is still up in the air as to who Moyes will go with. There's Sir Giggsy, Young, Kagawa and Nani. He can easily start with any of them. I, personally will like to see Kagawa start.
any of kagawa, young & nani is fine by me on the left side. young is excellent at moving the ball quickly in a counterattack. it's only when the opponents park the bus that he struggles - this is why young's best games were mostly against top sides.

afrodoc: Balance and Perfection are different,i dont know why there is a debate about that.

Balance is a state in which different elements e.g attack and defence, youth and experience occur in equal or correct proportions.

Perfection is the state of having no flaws or defects and being as good as it is possible to be.

A team can be balanced if its constituent elements are in approximately equal proportions e.g AC Milan is the 1988-1994 period was a balanced team. However no team is ever perfect because there is usually a flaw somewhere and even if a flaw is not obvious there is always room for improvement.

Balance is something that is achievable and perfection is not.
Lastly the concept of balance is about comparing the constituent elements of a team i,e attack, midfield, defence etc NOT comparing the team to another team
how can you be unbalanced & yet perfect? How can you be imperfect but yet balanced? you said balance is a state in which forces occur in equal proportions. how's that not perfection?

you are saying an equilibrium can be imperfect? how so?? you said the ac milan team between 1988-94 was a balanced one, how did you reach that conclusion? that they were better than the others only suggests they were less-unbalanced than their rivals, it does not mean they were 100% balanced.
