dayokanu: Why are bookmakers giving Bayern 1.67 and giving Chelsea 4.50?

Its not like the margin is that wide.

If I would stake I would put on Chelsea because that odd is insane for a match that should be close
i can't even see any margin - chelsea would batter bayern to a pulp. mourinho is lucky, cech & terry are fit again. cahill & ivanovic are also burly. the exact powerhouses mourinho needs to cause chaos.....

I underestimated your level of ignorance, half-baked educated zoobie.

Oh they prolly sell akamu (pap) in Canada, oh my bad, their tastes like yoghort thats why he able to detect the fake naija yoghort.
think outside the box and stop exhibiting the traits of a pregnant ruminant animal. the fact that he's not been to nigeria before does not mean he's not tasted pap before.
is it impossible for a friend/relative from nigeria to have given him pap to take in canada?

why do you people just open your mouth without scouring the possibilities of any event. yet, one day you would have a child. i shudder to think the kind of knowledge you would impart in your kids with your super-slow thought process.

collynzo2: ^^^ the fact that our government is taking us for a ride in this country is well know, but comparing Nigeria directly with Libya is ridiculous. Some of those policies in Libya can never work in Nigera, no matter how rich we are or how honest our leaders are. Their population is just 6 million, their oil production is only fractionally lower than ours whereas our population is 30 times bigger than theirs. Tone down the comparison.
you are a knucklehead....
either 6 million or 180 million. if the average newlyweds in libya get $50,000 to start a family then by logic, the counterpart in Nigeria should get about $1,500 to alleviate poverty.

education/health is free in libya. no gas bill, no electricity bill. every mother of a newborn gets $5,000. a portion of every barrel of oil sold goes directly into the bank accounts of all libyan citizens. libya's international students get $2,300 pocket money per month and if a graduate cannot get a job, the state pays the equivalent of the salary he would have gotten if he's employed.

only a lunatic would blame the population of nigeria as the reason we cannot get the same treatment. if every newlyweds in nigeria get $1,000 from the government, there would be no poverty. if there are no utility bills to pay, there would be no poverty - hell, if there's 24/7 electricity, there would be no poverty.

Godogwu: 1).Those billionaires create employment, Dangote alone is the highest private employer in Nigeria...so yes they are indirectly sharing their resources with Nigeria. Infact we need more and more Dangotes in this country. 70%?? C'MON man!... more like 50% (its no way perfect but yea its not that bad).
if dangote is not employing 100 million nigerian citizens, he should not be mentioned in this discourse. what's the percentage of the population of the nigerians working under dangote? does he not pay them the normal useless rates most companies do in nigeria or he pays nigerians in dollars? what has dangote gotta do with this debate, you are not educated!

2).That boy is just as ignorant and probably doesn't know better. just like the mexicans who flood the US with the mindset that money falls from trees. Yes, the entertainment industry is doing wonders: who was wizkid 5 years ago, dammy crane, 2 face, d'banj, etc. A lot of them even left the high and mighty America to come back home and are making more than 10x what they would have ever made in that country (tiwa savage, banky w, sheyi shey etc). radio station are providing employment, concerts provide employment, film festivals provide employment....you are quite ignorant of all these things.
if you are counting a handful of artistes in the music industry to justify economic growth then i am sorry to have overestimated your intelligence quotient. what about the nigerians that don't sing? they should commit suicide? what about the 40 million unemployed youths in nigeria?

let's even agree the stowaway boy is ignorant - what about the 7,000 nigerians that got swindled by a travel agent? are all those people also ignorant, many of whom are bankers, engineers, lawyers, graduates, etc?

3). Look at your statement, it just displays ignorance and a load of inferiority complex. I did american working class history in my freshman year in college and there was basically nothing like a middle class at that point. you were either a factory worker, a servant or an executive. finally they were paid in cents so yea it was way worse.
if you really did american history that told you people lived below poverty level in america then you should demand a tuition refund. you have the IQ of a pubic louse - whatever people were paid then would have afforded them the basic amenities. cents in the 17th century are thousands now, you have to factor inflation in your submission.

i'm just wowed by your level of ignorance....its utterly disgusting man.
you ignoramus - i have no doubt you function on a single digit integer. is libya 300 years old? how come they can afford to pay all libyan newlyweds in their country $40,000 to start a family? how come they don't pay electricity & gas bills? if you don't know you are being shortchanged by your government, you should find a long rope, a strong beam to tie it to and do the obvious....

you could argue we couldn't score too because chelsea loaded their midfield. whatever they lost in their attacking edge, they gained it defensively with the number of bodies in their midfield.

That United played with a 'do not lose' strategy at OT?
with 3 strikers on the pitch? what is "do not lose" in a team that had van persie, rooney, welbeck & valencia?

Godogwu: Dangote's wealth has everything to do with the facts that Nigeria is growing. People like Dangote, Adenuga, Ovia, Alakija just to name a few show the growth that Nigeria is witnessing. I believe there's no winning withe people like you; you basically never see anything good in Nigeria. Secondly its not all about being an oil producing country, does the UAE have 170 million people to cater for, or libya or any of the countries you mentioned. finally, Tf are you mentioning libya for, with all the trouble and crises going on in that place? c'mon man you can do better.
what's the essence of having billionaires when 70% of the population live below the poverty line? are you educated at all? you mean the lives of nigerians are better because they have adenuga and jim ovia in their midst? do these rich people share their resources with the population?

Nigeria's growth is more evident now than you can ever imagine. Lets just use the entertainment industry as an example; 10 years ago nigerian artist were basically just for Nigerians, fast forward to 2013.... we basically own Africa and are taking on the world. These days almost everyone is embracing their art side and the entertainment industry is keeping millions off the streets.
nigeria's growth? which growth?
entertainment industry is what concerns the common man on the street? no wonder a boy hid himself as a stowaway recently when he thought the plane was destined for US. the entertainment industry must be doing wonders.

yea and just let me know what the minimum wage was (if there was any) when the US was 53.
Its a lost war with you regardless but i just chose to educate you a bit. hopefully you're more informed now.
whatever it must have been - it cannot be worse than nigeria. minimum wage in america is $8 per hour. that's $320 per week and about $1,400 a month. it's N20,000 in nigeria.

on what planet is N210,000 comparable to N20,000?

look at libya before NATO killed gadaffi.
there's no utility bills in libya. there's electricity, portable water and tarred roads everywhere. there's no interest rate in their banks. couples get about $40,000 gift from their government to start a family. their citizens studying abroad get $1300 pocket money from the government....

why can't nigeria be like this with the resources we have and yet a donkey-stubborn gibbon is comparing the age of independence to justify the disgraceful leaders & politicians we continue to put in power because of this useless patriotism. it's a crying shame, really....

I won't argue about who makes more or less money but I can tell you authoritatively that money is not all you need to live in Naija
By the way, do not be deceived/consoled by the propaganda about everyone washing plates and no savings/net worth oveseas
There are loads of Naija professionals, eveyday people living very comfortably, good jobs, good benefits, retirement and education plans in place
And it's a common misconception that Naijas don't have mortgages/loans. Tons of oil workers, bankers, and telcos staff (the key group a bank will lend to) have cooperative and bank loans they are servicing
The typical Naija based professional does not pay cash for houses worth tens of millions of naira
can you explain this bit, please?

Chrisbenogor: As for earning power, I think things should be put in the correct context. Earning 10k USD in naija and 10k USD outside do not amount to the same thing at all, from tax to everyday living expenses ( rent, cost of gas, cost of labour - nanny et al) what we should really be looking at is the free cash flow the person has at the end of the day......I think.
by the time you deduct income tax, fuel for generator, borehole, lordmart generators, security, vigilante, hospital bills, car maintenance(due to bad roads & traffic), the man in nigeria is left with almost nothing.

then there are intangibles - pollution(sound, water and air), outbreak of any disease, menace of the underworld men, police harassment, job insecurity, low life expectancy. can you quantify those?

Lmao...I remember the first time you were given a link to that crystal thread, you almost died. I followed that story from the beginning and we were condemned and insulted for telling them its fraud. One even said we were jealous cos they were coming to join us. grin
that's what they know how to do.....condemn the reasonable thoughts and think everyone else is after their "success".

these are the lamentations of the fraud victims....

Emeka, a final year student of FUTO can’t believe the outcome. “I was supposed to take aptitude test for a job my father had arranged. How do I face my father, what will be my story? I investigated well, I went as far as visiting a native doctor in Ogun State and he confirmed that it was real. I know it is real, its NAPTIP that wants to spoil the business.”
Suleiman a businessman in Kano blames the police for failing to alert them, and said “I can’t believe that I have been defrauded. I consulted an alfa and he confirmed it.”
Chidi who claimed to have resigned from a job that pays him as much as N120,000 a month lamented that he sold almost everything he had to embark on the trip. He claimed to have given Olawale about N500,000 to ensure that his name is in the first batch. “I investigated this matter properly. I even went to GTBank and they confirmed that the travellers cheques had been processed and handed over to Fred.

If a bank as big as GT would be convinced that this man is real why won’t I believe? If this is scam then, the bank, police, Federal High Court, Immigration and even lecturers are part of it. During the symposium at Unilag, a staff of the bank addressed us on how to use the travellers cheque when we get to Canada.

The immigration woman told us that it was real. The lecturer that claimed he came from LASU was there. There was also a representative from the NDLEA who advised us to stay away from drugs. I am seriously suspecting that NAPTIP is a spoiler because Fred refused to play ball.”
Another victim Lukeman lamented that Fred collected money from them and is still withholding their passport. “I am a master’s degree holder and cannot believe what is happening. I am sure that this man must have visited the highest juju in Nigeria to perfect the plan.”
Olalekan, is one of the lucky ones who parted with only N75,000 before he discovered that it was a scam. He wrote a letter to the embassy that informed him the deal was not clean.
A banker who is yet to come to terms that this is real thanked his stars that he did not tender his resignation letter before the bad turn of events. “My sister, I have my resignation letter in my pocket as we speak. Thank God I did not submit it. Three of my friends who were affected had resigned

there was little time left to correct the damage rooney had done in that match. every pass he played was faulty. it was the worst game any united striker has ever played in the history of MUFC

Your appear to unnecessarily dislike Rooney and no panadol or any miracle can cure you of this. Try to be balanced and objective in your post match comments. If we are to make comment based on sentiments, this place won't be interesting to visit during and after matches.
rooney is shyte - the earlier we get rid, the better. by next season, he would throw another tantrum that he wants to leave and another media circus shall commence.

For instance, I could have come here and put all the blame on Cleverley, Carrick, Welbeck and RVP and I will justify it. Then an endless argument will follow.
blame carrick & cleverley? they were the best players on the pitch last night with cleverley shading it. welbeck didn't play as a striker and he's no winger. van persie got no service at all. i cannot think of any good pass he got from rooney last night.

Take a random sample of the working elite on the Politics board, you would discover the sheer illiteracy ravaging that country. I landed in Nigeria and custom/immigration officer was asking me, what I brought for him?

What I cannot stand stand further is when a mushin-olosha tout like Afam who has been beaten by a million mosquitoes yesterday night will come here and tell me he is living a better life in Nigeria.
afam that still stays with his parents?
if he needs ordinary tissue paper or omo detergent, he must ask his parents to provide. in the grand scheme of things, afam is irresponsible. he doesn't pay rent and he doesn't pay any bills. he's the last person on this forum to be talking about better living....

OMO IBO: Lmao
Cleaners/janitors in clubs - that's what they do in bathrooms.
and we both know the minimum wage in the UK is more than £5 per hour. janitors in clubs earn between £8 to £15 per hour depending on the classiness of the club. a real hardworker can put in 60 hours per week(excluding weekends)

even at the lowest end - he makes about £480 per week, at the high end, he makes close to £900 a week. how's he not better than the ones robbing people with guns or whöring themselves to pot-bellied chiefs?

elampiro: Are you now to compare Swansea to Chelsea?

Rooney also had sometime with Swansea. Different game, different approach.

Swansea did not sit back defending, and they could have hit us twice before RVP's goal.
did swansea not beat the same chelsea team home & away last season. they gave us more problems than chelsea did but our attack had purpose. welbeck was outstanding and everyone else always looked for van persie as the final pass.

I just didn't want to derail the topic of the day. Otherwise to be fair to Rooney, RVP has been the selfish player ever since last season. There was a game we picked a draw last season, Rooney was waiting for a tap in but RVP decided to dribble on two occasions. Rooney reacted bitterly on the chance RVP wasted.

Let's leave the argument and discuss the match yesterday for now.
you could have just mentioned the match where rooney was in a better position to score with RVP ignoring him. there's no better forward with awareness than RVP. if he knows there's a player in a better position, he would feed him a pass. the only draw i can think of last season was swansea away and rooney was useless on the day, fergie had to haul him off completely.

debosky: Who was more dangerous? The abysmally one-footed Valencia or the invisible Welbeck? cheesy
no one was dangerous for both sides...
rooney gets accolades for 5/10 performance, it's quite pathetic that the media are sücking his cöck for that abysmal performance. popping shots from 30 yards is not dangerous. cech was always going to save all those shots if rooney tried 1000 times.

Your attack didn't have a better dimension - you played an inferior side chock-full of players still learning to play with each other.
swansea played us off the park - we couldn't even retain possession but whenever we attacked, there was purpose in the move. it wasn't a surprise when we scored cos you could always see the writings on the wall.

yesterday was very different - rooney's passes were horrible. valencia was afraid to cross, jones was a disgrace and the midfielders couldn't find a pass as there was zero movement from rooney & RVP.

Madawaki01: by pple like u dat spray people perfume?
exactly....
a perfume sprayer makes more money than most bank managers in nigeria. perfume sprayers have built houses in nigeria, trained younger ones in school, supported their parents, etc via honest living.

whereas, troglodytes like yourself are kidnappers, serial & statutory räpists, armed robbers, extortionists, advanced pröstitutes, etc. tools like you are a scourge to the nigerian economy.

bukatyne: What right do you have to 'throw' her things out of the house?
the right to prevent bastards from creeping into the family.

debosky: Nonsense - from someone who scored 34 goals in 2011/12? 'Best' in providing? huh

Rooney can do the CF job if he's given - he was the most dangerous player all game, while Mr goals was nowhere to be seen except for one duff shot and one poor header.
10 of those goals were spot-kicks....
how was rooney the most dangerous player all game? yes, taking pop shots at petr cech from 30 yards is dangerous. i am not sure you saw the game. our attack had a better dimension against swansea(without rooney).
