So i am very happy what happen now in nigeria with this yahoo boys that they have to go to jail, I can tell you how they work but it is better not to tell this on a side like this because they can learn, what i do is when i have the real pic from him than i put it on a special side that everyboedy can see that he is a scamer.
Not all white woman are rich, some feel alone and want only love not more so they give all the money they didnot need to this boys because this boys could write so good letters and some are very good.

The big days for this boys are over since one year and that is good.

oh shut your mouth and spare me your holier than thou attitude!
if i am not mistaken, this rich white woman picked you out of the lot, started sending love messages to you, offered you money without any form of co-operation from you? who are you? van vicker junior?

justwise: coogar its completely silly and stupid to send such amount of money to somebody you never met, all she has is picture and it could be anybody's picture. Yes it does work out for some and those are those who took their time to know who they are dealing with.
we don't know how long they met before she started sending money. you don't know if she did these tests and the boy passed. these boys don't start asking money from day one. they win the trust of these women, make them fall in live before they start asking for money. have you forgotten the documentary channel 4 showed some years back - this naija dude that followed a british woman to south africa for her surgery? the woman said nothing else mattered anymore because the guy stood by her during her most difficult moment - the boy went on to defraud her of £400,000 and the woman didn't give a damn - all that is in her head was just the fact the boy stood by her in the hospital!

Refusing to send money and insisting on meeting that person first is one of the ways to find out more about the real motive behind the..... 'i love you'....
many of these women don't want to come to naija - the boys even discourage the idea unless they are in it for marriage! so sending money becomes the only avenue to facilitate their meeting up! the woman sent the money so the boy could meet her in america, not because she's promised 90% share of his N360 billion inheritance!

justwise: Boyfriend? The one she saw and knew for real that he does exist? Boyfriend that started demanding money before they even met? She is a complete dumb and stupid.
stop being naive, justwise! many people met their partners through the same means and there was no case of fraud! have u not seen the same naija boys in the lagos registry signing the dotted lines and marrying white women? so why should this woman think differently? when few of these links go messy, we blame the victims! when it works out, you don't say shyte! the money is nothing to most of these white women, it's the deception and being taken for a ride that kills them the most!

Yes EFCC deserve the money for their time, Nigerian Govt for should not be wasting money investigating a case like this, the stupid woman should fund the investigation.
efcc do nothing! they have no tracking devices, no database, no voice recognition software, no fingerprint machine, no dna ish.....they are just a bunch of zombies who craft their arts in jungle investigation! they go to internet cafes and arrest people randomly! they rely solely on these white victims for information to nab nigerian criminals! other than that, what can they do?

How do i tell my poor mum that i want to marry her age mate for goodness sake? I spent most of my valuable time chatting with this frog even when in class doing tutorial for unijos students. which yeye effort? if the woman didn't report the crime to efcc, keep time-logs of phone conversations and evidence of money remittance, would the efcc have caught the criminal? the woman got defrauded.....she ought to be paid back!

Despite all the warnings in the press some people still send money to strangers and cry foul after?

efcc are such a sell-out organisation. if it was an american guy that defrauded a nigerian lady, i doubt he would be prosecuted abroad. a woman fell for a struggling student and an idiotic judge slammed him 18 months and also asked to pay N100,000 a month till he pays everything he's owned. it then begs the question - where is the student going to get that monthly repayment? if he was that rich before, would he have committed the said crime? the judiciary in nigeria is a joke!

Career › Re: Blue-collar Job In The UK Or White-collar Job In Nigeria? by coogar: 8:34pm On Oct 11, 2012
pato405: apart from food, NOTHING else is cheap in UK. if you talk about salaries, I still stand on my argument though I agree with you that you get paid less than your counterparts doing the same job in the UK. BTW, my point is that although you may be thinking that you earn less, in the real sense of it you earn more. for instance, many professionals in UK who are gainfully employed earn about £3000/month-£4000 (that's even the very fortunate ones o! e.g engineers/docs). on the other hand, their counterparts in 9ja may averagely earn 300k. it may interest you to know that the Nigerian at home may save more and also live well (even tho not fantastic, but comfy).
according to you, living well is leaving home 5am in the morning to beat traffic and getting home @ 11pm. living well is having to be traumatised by the siege of robbers, assassins and kidnappers lurking around in your neighbourhood.....living well is fretting if there would be light @ home after a hard day's job! i don't understand many nigerians when they ignorantly opine they are living "well" - unless that connotes another meaning i am yet to read about!

imagine earning £3000 and you already losing £1000 on tax, another £1000 on accommodation and bills, half of the remaining £1000 on other crazy expenses like MOT + car insurance + road tax (tho you pay once, but you sure make provisions for them from your pay na),servicing/maintaining your vehicle, etc, leaving you with £500 (125k!)
the £1000 paid on tax has pretty much covered for the intangibles that i explained to you about. the dude in nigeria also pay these expenses in miscellaneous....it's october and i am yet to open the bonnet of my car this year. in naija, i would have spent more than 400k(excluding fuel) on it to fix one broken headlight bashed by a crazy danfo driver or fix the blown gasket caused by overheating......you cannot neglect niggling expenses such as these!

if you feed & do a little big boy on £300-£400, how much REMAIN? £100 shocked..at the end of the year, you'll have saved £1,200 (300k) grin even when you earn £3000 (750K), your mate in 9ja who are living under the impression that their friend who left for Uk and now earning 750k will be shocked if they have privi to see your savings acct. becos I bet ya, they'll have saved far more than that o! grin grin grin grin..you'll turn around and tell them balderdash about purchasing parity!
the only way the dude in naija can fare better is if he evades his utilities like many of them do. refusing to pay phcn/nitel/water. hiring quack electricians to reconnect their power lines when it gets disconnected. risking their lives to save money by buying substandard products, etc. a lot of the so called people "living well" compromise their standard in order to save money - majority don't even pay any bills, there's always one uncle or family member that they can put up with - and this is what you call "living well"??

so because he was not playing upfront before means he cannot be termed a striker even when the manager has moved him upfront?

which would mean thierry was never a striker too!! smh.

besides, i used the word "FORWARDS"

last time i checked, all the attacking players are called forwards, not just the top strikers
if that is true....how come nani and kagawa is not in your calculation but gervinho and walcott are in there for arsenal? lemme guess nani is a goalie and kagawa is a manager. there's no need dragging the issue - you already won the argument the moment folahann sided with you. grin

pato405: @ Coogar:
there's a difference between quality of life and economic/health indices. pls do not mis the terms: quality of lyf, satisfaction with lyf and social well-being because apparently, you tend to use them inter-changeably in your arguments.
whoever said they are the same? my point is those indices added together is the reason the quality of life in nigeria is wack! that the nigerian people don't know better should not be mistaken for satisfaction. if a slave ship docks in apapa tonight, half of the population would jump into it........

see a link for just a quick summary and consult related texts: http://www.gdrc.org/uem/qol-define.html. you can as well read keyes(1998) or Larson (1993) on Social well-being. Callaghan (2008) also wrote on the contextualisation of social well-being. these are largely subjective. I dont dispute the fact that on the health/economic indices scale, 9ja may not be doing so well. if you read my earlier posts, I stated it succinctly that disorganisation is the bane of the problem. but then, lets keep the argument on track and not digress..it's about income and managing finances. standard of living may be better on the other side but cost of living is a lot higher- and that's in a 'kingdom' where more than 33% of what you earn goes into tax all in the name of providing you with a system that works. you dont pay that much in Nigeria (I stand to be corrected pls)and you'll agree with me that even if Nigeria decides to implement a taxation policy that'll cut 50-60% of your gross earnings, that things will more or less remain the same (e.g take the case of fuel subsidy for instance. ever since it was removed, has anything meaningful been done with the money?) at this point I'm tempted to switch argument that --** it's not about paying so much to provide amenities, it's about the orientation & mentality of the people. things will work where it'll work and will not work where it wont irrespective of money made available.
stop contradicting yourself - if the orientation of the nigerian people is set straight, then they would follow the lead of paying a chunk of their income on taxes so the govt can provide the basic amenities! the average nigerian still expects the government to provide everything he needs while he sits back and relax without putting anything back to the system!

9ja inept leaders are just not ready to make provisions for these amenities, so don't bother arguing that it works in Britain because pips are ripped off their earning via draconian deductions in the name of taxation.
it is that draconian deductions that keep their country afloat - the money to service these basic amenities won't fall from heaven! britain is not really blessed with natural resources but its working! the wealth is also fairly distributed via this means of taxing the rich to cater for the poor unlike nigeria where the rich keeps getting richer and the poor poorer! 1% of the nigerian population control 95% of the country's wealth while the remaining 99% of the population are forced to fight for the 5% remainder of the country's wealth and this our beloved nation has more natural resources than 20 united kingdoms put together! you still think their deduction is draconian? you make me laugh!

be that as it may, you can make provisions for these missing amenities (privately, just like you have cited paying your fuel, security maiguard, etc) and still save better than your counterpart who earns about the same (or even more) in the uk, live a healthy social lyf, mingle with the boyz every weekend grin grin, have a deep sense of belonging (little wonder 9jerians were rated the happiest pips some tym ago grin, except for the recent boko nuisance)and even define your QOL as better! wink
who says you cannot mingle with boys every weekend in the uk? go to mama calabar every friday and see hundreds of naija boys wallowing in largesse! abeg, don't paint everyone in the uk with the same brush just because you managed to know a few with unfortunate lives! so nigerians are ranked the happiest people in the world is now the yardstick that things are better in naija? they are happy because they don't know better!!!

flexyonline: I'm not discussing how people in Lekki buy (more like build) their homes though I disagree that most use mortgages. The mortgage market in Naija is in its infancy so IS not how most people here get thir homes. However, for someone in the UK to commit that kind of money to a house in Naija (even through a mortgage) that implies that the person has no life in the UK. What of the mortgage on the house he is living in and the other bills. And we are even talking about high earners here and not the majority who earn between 15000 - 25000 pounds per annum.
it's very possible to have a mortgage in the uk and build a house in nigeria......some luxuries have to be cut off but yeah...it's for the greater good!

pato405: you disagree because you have refused to take a more in-depth, fexible rather than rigid and critical view to this topic. in addition, you sound like you have already programmed your argument to remain biased about other factors/complexities. lets go down a more practical look at things! I'm game anytime. you talk of ''quality of life'' which is a rather ambiguous term. the last time I checked, there was still no consensus even amongst widely read academics and researchers about such terms. it's grossly relative. what translates into real 'satisfaction with lyf' and 'quality of life' remains grey, vary markedly among different people and is entirely subjective. the way you manage you 800k in naija to attain that satisfaction you crave may be different from the way another man manages the same amount to attain what he defines as satisfaction with lyf.
why is "quality of life" subjective? there's a reason nigeria is a 3rd world country.....there's a reason the life expectancy of the average nigerian is lower than that of most developed countries. check out the birth rate, death rate, crime rate, infant mortality rate. you have added up these indices and you still think the quality of life is entirely subjective? ok - let's do it another way......go to the uk consular in lagos..........and count the number of number of application forms submitted in a week. do the same method at the nigerian house in london and count the number of white brits who have submitted a visa application form to nigeria...then you would understand the real meaning of quality of life....

BTW, is paying for such things (security, meiguard, fuel) not affording you an opportunity to manage your means and tailor what you earn to accommodate your needs? grin. how about having a sense of belonging? do you know of how alienated many pips feel and others (particularly those outside london) complain of an inactive social lyf, boredom and depressive loneliness. tell me about how money can buy that pls. despite the disagreement amongst social researchers about what really constitutes 'quality of lyf' they all virtually agree that having a sense of belonging is one key parameter of QOL. have you stopped to ask yourself once why inspite of the acclaimed govt amenities you harp about, depressive tendencies abound in many these countries? and you term that good quality..innit?
maybe for the people with no exposure.....depressive loneliness in a city where you can pretty much party at any time of the hour? oh please...
paying for things the government should be providing is not a sense of belonging. even after paying for those things, they still get attacked by robbers, they still get kidnappedm etc. so i ask you - where is the sense of belonging when i make N800k a month but i sleep with one eye closed since daredevil robbers are lurking around. what about the peace of mind? did you factor that in your analysis of sense of belonging? i laugh in boko-haram!

guy, it's not all about pay and the amenities o!
what is it about then? if i cannot have portable water, constant power supply, security, low levels of noise/air pollution, good roads, etc then screw any other aspect of life. i don't give a damn about it! there's a reason your life expectancy is about 47. if you are older than that age as we speak, better go and write your will. if you are not up to 47, please start praying!

flexyonline: I may not understand maths a lot but pls how does someone who earns 25,000 - 50,000 pounds per annum in the UK afford a duplex in Nigeria. In my part of Naija duplexes go for btw 50 - 150 million naira which is about 200,000 to 600,000 pounds. How is this transaction possible please?
first ask yourself how they are able to buy their £500,000 homes in the uk.....they do so via buying a mortgage. most of the lekki houses too come with mortgages but that's beside the point. a worker earning £50k per annum with a good credit rating can have access to more than £500k in loans/credit-cards. houses don't have to be bought cash down like those rogues do in nigeria - it's not normal in any developed part of the world.

pato405: guy, lets be realistic, you'll always manage your means better in 9ja. the only prob with 9ja is the salient disorderliness and disorganisation. All that is needed in naija are systems that works. if you are not offered more than three times what you currently earn in naija, dont bother diving into the UK. deduct all envisaged taxes and bills before comparing. Health care and other social amenities are undeniably incomparable I must not be economical with the truth about that, but then we cant deny the fact that it's often not funny when all you earn is drained in the name of living in a society with a system that works grin
i disagree.....
you can never manage your means better in nigeria. don't concentrate on the takehome pay....concentrate what the guy in britain and the one in nigeria spend their money on. concentrate on the quality of life. there are tangibles and intangibles. how do we even quantify the pollution of noise and air in nigeria?that's one example of the (intangibles).

so i earn £2000 monthly....i pay ma taxes and my bills and all is sorted...... the naija man makes 800k(monthly).....he pays his bills and you quickly assumed he's got more than enough to play with but does he? he would buy like 2 generating sets in a year, fuel this gen, pay for a meiguard, pay for the community vigilante, pay to get his dustbin emptied, visit the mechanic at least once a month to service his car because of the bad roads. which account should we put these expenses?

of course and that depends on what they were doing in the uk before returning to nigeria.
i expect an illegal immigrant to do far better in nigeria where he's free to move and work wherever he wishes than do the odd jobs here because he doesn't have the right to work. so it's different strokes for different folks - each case should be looked into individually instead of lying to us your uncle made £60k per annum in the uk and he was a pauper - that's a big fat lie from the pits of hell.
