StarBoard: You're not even using a computer, yet you're disputing my claims!

Anyway Martin Jol hasn't managed to beat United in like forever.
Why should I Listen to his opinion?
Fact is, Dembele got our boys running like preying mantisses in a newly cut lawn.
Only Kagawa did well of all Ythe guys who featured in the middle; the worst was Ashley Young.
how dare you diss my nokia 3210?
dembele got the upper hand after kagawa left...rooney came on and forgot his role as the man in the hole to help his midfield duo! sometimes, fergie's subs make no sense at all! we didn't need to take shinji off, his energy kept us buzzing and he was linking well with ando-clev, dropping deep too to get stuck in!

Shout out to Mikel, the lad whose inclusion causes a lot of argument.

Well, 9pts, top of the table, bring on the super cup on Friday.
chelsea are going about their business quite efficiently but acid tests lie ahead!!
congrats to blues for taking all the 9 points in their first 3 games!

all4naija: For me, I can't use Apple products any more for personal reasons. They don't worth!I careless about whatever happens at the end. There is nothing like freedom with Apple products!
but that is the point, isn't it?
apple the innovator - spent years and billions of dollars to invent a device and they added a feature that made it exclusive to reap back what they have sowed - samsung and co just copied apple's intellectual property and kept it free for end users!!! samsung and others have nothing to lose - it was not their idea in the first place. if they had spent years and fortunes developing such, they would also find a way of making some money out of their toys!

StarBoard: Did we watch the same game?
Please bring the stats lets see which midfielder had the better game.
Dembele kept swatting those two like pesky houseflies.Only poor finishing prevented Fulham from taking maximum advantage of his driving runs.
Anderson played like a baby rhino, just digging up marks on the field and nothing more.
Martin Jol said: "We had a good win last week, put playing here is a little bit different to playing at home against Norwich, Even though we scored an early goal we were still not full of confidence, and United played so well in the first half. I thought it might be a really bad day for us. We just couldn't keep up with Tom Cleverley and Anderson but we managed to win the second half 1-0, so it was a game of two totally different halves".

i would post the stats as soon as i power my phone!

all4naija: Apple should give up on its failure to be innovative rather than these claims of patent infringement. We are going to see more claims coming along in the near future on patent-related case than being innovative. This just ignited patent war rather than innovation. I hate Apple this time around for exercising power of jealousy!

On the other hand there are more smartphone makers using same design and Apple has to sue them as well. What is good for the goose is good for the gander. If Apple claim to be perfect it should consider its camera position in iPhone and message push which are of other companies idea. Indeed, there is case of patriotism been thrown into this case by the judge who passed the verdict. I hope to see more suitPs come along very soon.

Let the war of patent infringement begins. No more Steve Job's innovative ideas. They died when the genius died
this is not about jealousy - innovation should be protected and encouraged!
for samsung to outrightly steal, in broad daylight, what took apple years and billions of dollars to come up with is an utter disgrace! apple are putting money in the pockets of so many people and themselves - the people making this money are truly innovating and providing great end user products/apps!

let's not forget apple had been ripped off before by microsoft - they knew they cannot afford to let it happen again. if apple fold their hands and let samsung and others steal their intellectual property, it would be the death of them - there's no steve jobs to save their arses this time around! i expect them to play tough with samsung and do the same with any other copycat in future!

!
If Samsung is willing to pay for royalty on all his affected products, the case won't have ended like this.
I was laughing when one of the Samsung lawyers beg court to make some of the Apple's patent an Open-source for the public, "because innovation that makes life easy should be for everyone" grin grin grin
the jury included 4 geeks in the IT- industry and 2 phone engineers....they were specifically chosen to deal with this court case! samsung got caught red handed and they should pay! the bright side is this might force samsung to come up with their own brilliant innovation that might even push apple off the market - at the end of the day, the end user are biggest winners in this matter!

Ibime: Modric? History speaks for itself. Whilst modric was getting redknapp the sack with his usual 3 assists and 3 goals per season, lamps was busy winning UCL, mudding Barcelona and spanking modric 5-1 in fa cup. We've already dealt with this matter. If you offer modric half the achievements lamps has made in his career, he will sell his grandmother!
of course, if we swap modric with lampard, lampard's tottenham would have won the premier league and the champion's league! we are talking individual attributes and ibime is talking about collective achievement! we have already dealt with this and guess what? modric murdered lampard in every statistics available -

nateevs: Nanannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnndddddddddddooooooo

nateevs: Funny how you carefully evaded the topic of Gourcuff and Valero yet still have the audacity to go ahead and criticise others.

What was your assessment about Aguero?
According to you, Aguero was a ninny who would not cut in the PL.
FBS and I backed Aguero to the fullest to even hit the ground running.
I was very vocal abuot the signing of David Silva to Chelsea, dudes like you said, Silva does have the tenacity to make it in the PL.

I can go on and on. Those that have been here on NL for a considerable amount of time have made wise assertions as well as those they wish they can take back.

THerefore, all the "my daddy's car is bigger than your daddy's car", "na me get am, na you miss am" childish games you are throwing around is ridiculous.

Were it coming from someone who never made stupid predictions in the past, it'll be a lot more plausible.
However, from someone with some ridiculous, inconceivable, self-imposed knowledge about things, I don't give a hoot.

Like I told you, it's becoming very boring.
If you want to continue arguing with yourself, be my guest.
ibime is a wanker....
this is the same ibime who argued lampard is better than modric. after he saw what modric did against spain in euro 2012, he has since abandoned that fantasy! lampard was a good player in his prime but not anymore! if chelsea can get bison essien back to match fitness, he should partner mikel as chelsea's double pivot! with those 2 stationed permanently behind the rotating trio of mata, hazard and oscar, chelsea are the team to beat! mikel/essien would also protect the back four excellently like makelele used to back in the days!

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by coogar: 5:05pm On Aug 25, 2012
coded guy: The defence is our problem. We need to sort that out quickly.
The ando/cleverly combo was ok, they kept things tidym
Rooney injured in stoppage time.
i expect jones/evans to be fit for our next game....
that defence is bad. vidic is not 100% sharp yet and carrick is a makeshift defender - the defence nearly destroyed all the good work we did in the first half!

then the substitutions were rather daft - giggs and welbeck when we needed to score goals? fergie needs to sort this out now....either get an extra centre-half before the window closes or sack his medical team!

StarBoard: Moussa Dembele had them both for lunch.
They both were average.
they mauled dembele - the score line doesn't paint the true picture. the stats would shock you. dembele did well without a doubt but ando/clev edged it for me!

what was de gea thinking? vidic is not rio, vida would always attack the ball! another nervy 20 mins when we should be coasting! wooton cant be as bad as carrick in the defence, fergie should shore up now and put in the midfield n take young off!
Going ok but defensively Im naturally worried because, Im still not convinced about Cleverly/Ando axis. I think i would prefer Carrick in there. Problem is, SAF weakened the defence by putting him there and then weakened midfield at the same time because he's not in midfield. Surely would better to put someone like Wootton who's been on the bench and played a few preseason matches that way only weaken the defence instead of both midfield and defence? I think we'll score in the 2nd half but we definitely still look like conceding.
if we can get our centre backs sorted with the current form of david de gea, i think I can trust ando/cleverley even in big games! the passing has been decent today - they have linked well going forward! of course playing carrick in the defence weakens the defence and leaves a hole in the midfield...but playing carrick in the midfield also slows things down a bit for us.....the ando/clev option drives us forward - makes us more potent attacking wise but leaves a bit of the backdoor open! this is not tournament football - goals win games not clean sheets.....

Cristalz: Okay....I know just the exact left shoe I'm gonna keep warm 'n toasty for ya. grin
With our CB's fit again and everyone else on top of their game, this will be the team to beat.
Even De Gea has been lovely.

I'm just glad for the striking options; makes United a lot less predictable.

texazzpete: Hopefully now, Samsung will STOP copying and stealing shamelessly.

There are other ways to innovate and succeed.

The Touchwiz UI that the Galaxy S used was a straight up clone/copy of the iOS UI

https://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2011/06/11x0419nsgs.jpg

And of course there are numerous other cases where Samsung shamelessly copied

https://i.imgur.com/TmUj2.jpg

Samsung likes to say this lawsuit will stifle innovation...i'd say it's time they stopped copying and focusing on innovation.
samsung only have themselves to blame....
after educating myself on the extent of samsung's infringement, it is clear to me they are totally at fault. check the damning internal documents that compare the galaxy phone prototype to the iphone, and the fundamental changes made to the galaxy phone in order to better emulate the iphone prior to the actual release date.

apple went on to warn samsung to stop copying the iphone and samsung's refusal to do so. samsung had multiple opportunities to do the right thing, and chose not to. they were just comfortable to keep stealing ideas and made it theirs. google also warned samsung to stop copying apple and they still refused! i believe innovation should be protected!

apple took massive risks dabbling into the world of mobile phones in 2007 - an industry they had zero experience in. they spent billions developing touch screen and the operating system that supports with - they also created an enabling environment that allowed developers to create an individualised solutions for their users. apple also offered licensing rights to samsung considering the strategic relationship they both have but samsung just didnt care......

they only have themselves to blame!!!

Bawss1: @ shaw007

There is no reason why this lawsuit should have affected the release of the iPhone 5. Apple usually releases its new phones during the last quarter of the year and the widely circulated date of September 12 for the iPhone 5 is in line with that tradition.

Either way this lawsuit has cleared all doubt in my mind that the guys at Apple are shameless hypocrites - they cry blue murder at anything that is perceived to be a threat to their business yet they employ the same copying tactics on other companies.
but it was obvious samsung copied their design.....apple cannot stand by and watch a rival steal their design and make money with it. that's why it's patented in the first place! samsung galaxy is no threat to the apple iphone - when iPhone 5 comes out, people would forget galaxy 3. same thing happened last year when iPhone 4s made galaxy 2 look like nokia 3210!

Kobojunkie: It does not matter whether you think they were pregnant or not, or whether society attaches a stigma(that is a no brainer really, society attaches a stigma to anything it is not ready to consider but this can be changed when society changes) to it or not, what matters is that IT HAS BEEN DONE BEFORE and so IT CAN BE DONE.
nothing has changed in nigeria - a woman could get escorted out of some churches if she wears trousers or make her hair in a certain way! i am talking about nigeria @ large not just lagos environs where every kid aspires to be rihanna or kim kardash!

There was one a time when teenage pregnancies where a taboo . . . sex before marriage even. Today it is considered the NORM. Africa has been able to bend so many times before, and can once again bend to yet another change.
teenage pregnancy was never a taboo in nigeria! teenage pregnancy can never be a taboo in a country that practises child marriage in broad day light! if you go to most villages and hamlets where the females are not really bent on completing tertiary education, many of those females get pregnant before the age of 17!

once again, you are limiting your research to lagos or towns where nearly all the female teenagers are in universities studying calculus and business admin!

Well, even the churches are now adjusting to the new realities that exist in Africa today. I remember when I was a wee kid, attending Deeper Life Bible Church. Watching TV was considered a sin. Women Braiding/relaxing one's hair was also considered a sin. In fact, a man/woman approaching the opposite sex was also considered a sin. Today, those are not even issues . . . People don't even think sin when they think of watching TV, or talking to a member of the opposite sex.
churches are not adjusting nada - more like people are moving to churches with doctrines that suit their lifestyles! then again, you cannot compare flimsy issues of braiding hair/relaxing to taking the influence of parents away from their kids! the system in place in nigeria cannot give the kids the independence they "might" crave!

When I was younger, marrying a divorcee came with a stigma attached. Today, woman marry men who already have kids from previous marriages and no one bats an eye. . . . the list goes on.
this is an exaggeration - people have been marrying divorcees since the fall of man with no stigma attached. i would even wager it was common back then than it would be the case these days! today's divorcees are in the recycle bin or rendered outcasts!

Rather than declaring it impossible, let's instead focus our energy on encouraging individuals to take their futures into their own hands and let them collectively decide the direction in which society will go by their actions.
you must be a fantasist!
encourage kids of 16 in nigeria to leave their parents and be independent? what would feed them? is there any social security in place to cater for them? the ones who left home at tender age are on the bar beach as we speak - robbing, stealing, whoring, using drugs, etc!

the problem cannot go away until the government puts a system in place that would enable secondary school leavers to work - hell, undergraduates don't even work in nigeria - they all depend on parents for the basic necessities and you are daydreaming about channeling energy?? you better channel your energy into something more realistic else you join hands with ken saro wiwa in the belly of the beast singing "'amazing grace".

overruled in nigeria?
you make me laugh - those school mates of yours who eloped with their spouses probably got pregnant and ran away cos of the stigma attached to such by this same "society"

the issue is deep rooted - this is africa, more so - nigeria where the parents are not the only ones looking after their kids - the whole community does...

"what would the church say if my daughter marries mr-x or mr-y?" unlike the developed countries where i don't even know the names of my next door neighbours!

tendercharles: Its now a normal trend among married ladies, they dont completely replace their father's name with their husband's name. I believe the husband should be in full possession of the woman after wedding but she, still having to use her father name creates a notion that she still 'partly' belongs to her father. I can't allow my wife to retain father's name after our wedding oo. What do you guys think?
unless the full bride price hasn't been paid by the husband, there's no reason any woman should attach her father's name after marriage! men who allow such are pussies!

Kobojunkie: I still believe that life is about being able to make decisions and facing/accepting the consequences that follow, and sometimes the decision might be to go against the wishes of your parents. Many have done it and many more can do it.
many? in the grand scheme of things, the percentage is very low!

If however a woman feels that the worst thing to happen to her is being kicked out of her parent's house, then sure she will remain at home and probably end up marrying into a bad situation. However, if she believes(notice this all has to do with how weighs issues) that it would be better for her to be homeless for a time, all so she can ensure she gets exactly what SHE WANTS, then she will not cave in to the pressures from her parents.
how many girls of 18 have you seen in nigeria that left home to be "independent"?
be realistic!

Systems are changed by the decision of the majority. If the majority of these girls continue to value living under their parents over the freedom of choosing for themselves, when they want, whom they will settle with, then of-course the status quo will remain intact.
the nigerian system would not change because the parents are the government! they provide the shelter, food, light, school fees, clothing, etc for their kids. the american teenager can rely on her government to provide these things, her nigerian counterpart cannot get these things without a parent/guardian/sponsor - that difference is one of the reasons the parents exert a huge influence!

so i cannot see how the decision of the majority can change this unless the government starts doing what is right!

And might I add that the above is somewhat why I favor the way westerners raise their kids . . . many of them already think INDEPENDENTLY by age 18, and would definitely not accept such pressure from their parents. grin grin grin
well....the system in nigeria cannot afford that and this is why i blame the society! how often do you see 18-year-olds living independently? we are too parent-dependent in nigeria, we live in their houses for far too long, they cough out the funds to train us to tertiary education in most cases as there are no student loans in nigeria so it's natural for parents who have exerted such influence on their children to dictate who and when their kids marry!
