doctokwus: So glad many pple are still not totally convinced with dis parade of suit wearing suspects& d confession dey are claimed 2av made, and so fast for dat matter. As for those alredy concluding based on d police version of events,u all don't know what d nigerian police are capable of!They can make a dog talk& confess to once being a human being!the picture is definitely not related to the story! naija media now put random pictures to gloss the pages to make their tales believable - the kinda criminals who commit these kinda crimes don't get to wear suits to the courthouse! |
dayokanu: We were told that technical players are the elixir Torres needs. He now has mata and Hazard behind him. Now we are waiting for the excuse from our chaimenbut you saw ramirez doing it all alone when he could have squared it to nando to tap into an empty net! those little differentials matter....torres has been a beast in this game - the players must keep providing the chances. don't blame a striker for squandering just one chance in a game....he needs about 5 per game! |
Jakumo: A twelve-hour duration gang rhape of a drugged victim, followed by extended torture to extract non-existent money, culminating in a horrific strangulation death, adds up to a crime that could only be committed by individuals that are evil personified, and who should therefore be put to death by the state as soon as the court trial of the accused concludes.oh lord! these guys should be tortured to death - have them fed to the lions gradually. left foot, right foot, left hand, right hand.....how can people be this wicked? how much were they hoping to get from her? 50 million?? nigeria is such a horrible place to live! |
Pataki: Wow, the owner of Reading Football club is just 30years old?!but daddy is very rich - a russian multi-billionaire! |
2-1 chelsea obliterated! |
nateevs: Hazard eeee!pogrebynak strikes! |
greatgod2012: why on earth do some women marry somebody who has married before, thereby becoming 2nd,3rd,4th or even 5th wife. I'm not talking about widow marrying widower or divorcee marrying another divorcee, i'm talking about those who know that d man has wife(ves) and still go ahead tio marry d man, only to be complaining about d man or d marriage later, what do you think is actually wrong with this set of women? No insult meant, i'm just somehow curious about it.it's the society pressure coupled with lack of self esteem! as a woman grows older(especially after crossing age 30...), she's almost down to marry anything that passes by. can you blame them? the nigerian society frowns at single women no matter how successful she might be - i don't know how a woman would leave her father's house to cause chaos for another woman happily married to her husband! the funniest thing is wife number 2 gets jealous when the husband brings wife number 3 home! you just have to salute our african women - they just love to eat their cake, have it and still keep some in their bra(for future use)!!! |
4llerbuntu: CCoogar, you need to come work for Jonathan.direction of the ball plays no part in this saga. did jaglieka kick the ball or kicked welbeck's foot? if jaglieka got the ball cleanly, no foul---if he got welbeck's foot before the ball then it's a pen and a red card....so watch the clip again and make your decision! was wondering when you would show up, 24 hrs after the match this thread was still peaceful. you and starboard conveniently went missing.don't be daft! don't you have a life? what is it about losers like you who keep a time log of when people are present or absent on a thread? so if i don't post here for weeks, it must be because of a united loss? if arsenal fans without a trophy in 8 years can post freely, you then think a united fan would hide cos they lost a league game? you must be a troglodyte!!! cant wait for transfer window to close so y'all will show us how Van Pee is the solution to your teething ishvan persie or not, united will finish ahead of arsenal! transfer window or not - united won 12 premier league titles without van persie so go frenchkiss a tarantula! El Guapo: Seen more of Such tackles from probably the Best Defs around the Globe and shouts for a PK are definitely Waved off by the Ref -- Only a Biased Pant would point towards the Spotkick.yeah, what do i expect from a blue-tinted spectacle you are wearing - it is not a foul if it happens to every player on the planet minus chelsea players. that is a clear penalty! what saved jaglieka was the direction of the ball - cos he kicked welbeck's foot to make contact with the ball but jaglieka did not make any contact with the ball! |
El Guapo: U got a Video to show that Phil did hit the Ball -- Sentiment never gon kill U broyou must be blind then if you cannot see phil kicked welbeck's foot! if that had happened at the other end of the pitch, it would have been a red card for vidic for bringing jelavic down! |
AjanleKoko: Even as a holding midfielder, he has many weaknesses. He's a reasonably okay passer, but for someone playing in a holding role for Barca, he will have his work cut out for him. Busquets doesn't even win balls by tackling or fouling. In fact he obstructs the play, and usually draws fouls from the attacking opposition. Song will tackle a lot, and that scares me.busquets is the master of interception and constituting a nuisance to his opponents. his positioning is the best i have seen from a midfielder. his ability to read the game helps him to intercept passes - song is more physical who likes to get stuck in. that said, song is a better centre-half than busquets can ever be.....this was why i said alex song is a good buy for barcelona! Putting him beside Keita (who he's obviously replacing) in a skill-for-skill comparison, Keita still comes out better. Keita is a better passer, two-footed, great shooting ability, a box-to-box player, good in the air, and can even join the attack. Keita was a good x-factor, and made a decent impact in those games where a change of plan was needed.the advantage song has over keita is the fact that keita cannot play as a centre-half! song would be doing a back up for 2 positions(busquets and puyol/pique)!!! Song is probably going to add to the problems that Fabregas has been creating since he joined. More anarchy in the middle, and that worries me. I doubt he can play the ball on the ground. More likely he will try long adventurous balls.song is a neat passer - of course, not as great as the barca boys but he is never going to need long passes - a defensive midfielder at barcelona does not pass the ball more than 5-10 yards! i am sure alex song will be fine in barcelona! |
AjanleKoko: See you contradicting yourself.my comment is self-explanatory! i said his appalling positional discipline should be blamed on wenger. when wenger was asked why he pushes song forward, wenger said he wanted to fool the opposition into trouble! i am certain barcelona will not ask song to bomb forward - he will have a defined role which is - to sit in front of the defence and snuff out attacks! the link below should help your further questions about song! http://goonerhead.com/arsenals-dm-or-playmaker-analyzing-alex-song/ |
StarBoard: Well I wouldn't say the missing defenders were wholly responsible for the loss. Why? Because even when we had 4fit defenders last season they still scored 4times at Old Trafford. So I'm pretty sure it's something more fundamental than that.carrick would have done a better job as a destroyer than scholes! having 4 centre-halves missing meant carrick had to play in the defence. the missing players caused our loss! i admit we might not have won cos we didn't look like scoring but we wouldn't have lost as well! Which brings me squarely back to the state of our midfield.Personally I think that if we had a decent midfield, last night we shouldn't and wouldn't have suffered the barrage we encountered.carrick is still the key here too! what carrick does better than most defensive midfielders is his ability to find a quick pass that would isolate nani with hibbert or valencia with baines. he does it in such a way that the wingers are running at the full backs at top speed and more often than not, the wingers beat their markers easily. scholes didn't do enough last night although welbeck was rubbish! the few passes scholes attempted were predictable floated ball that already had our wingers double-marked and they couldn't make any head way! i doubt our wingers beat their markers throughout the 90 - all i kept seeing was crosses that got blocked by their markers and the ones that went in got cleared easily! in a nutshell, it was such a clusterfuck! Unfortunately we're already three points off the pace in the league and since we don't know when those injured fellas will return, I don't share your optimism. As difficult as that tie sounded, I thought we could leave Goodison with at least a draw. That side isn't have as decent as ours on paper.points would still be dropped - at least the eventual champions would drop about 24 points so we are still good to go! goodison is a difficult place to go. chelsea and city lost there last season with their strongest teams! The context within which I mentioned the players I did was not to single them out individually. Cleverley didn't grab the game by the collar like he did for England vs Italy. He looked like a headless rat.cleverley was very decent - kept it simple....he's not a youtube highlight player cos he doesn't over-elaborate. 92% pass completion, 1 interception, 4 key passes, attempted 5 tackles and won them all....i couldn't ask for more and he was unlucky that his shot on target got blocked by jaglieka off the line! My view on Andeson still stands.I feel he's not likely to contribute anymore than he has done before and expecting great things from him is stretching the imagination, to be sincere, given his inability to stay fit and deliver consistent performances.all i am asking this season is to experiment anderson/cleverley axis again! i believe thats our best midfield combination. 2 terriers who can pass, highly mobile and can harass the opposition. there was no coincidence that we won all the games we played with those duo in the midfield! anderson played well when he came in - he was the only one who tried to play through the middle instead of the predictable putting it on the flanks and watching evra put in rubbish crosses over and over again. statistically, ashley young was our best winger last season. these players are very good - i still believe in them! I tend to agree.3 factors since that era: carlos queiroz's departure hargreaves injury ronaldo's departure i am sure one or all of these components are responsible for the gradual decline in performance and luck with injuries! And does it make sense to reward inconsistency with an improved contract?I say in my Whitney Houston(rest her soul in peace) voice: "hell to da no!".no player polarises opinions like nani. on his day, he's a wonderful player but on some days like last night, he can be a supertwat! he deserves a raise for what he's done in the past. besides, any player that can do this to barca players deserves a raise in wages... https://i.minus.com/iYKGJWKA5sSC6.gif |
debosky: Surely even you can see the blatant incongruity in claiming two out of three midfielders putting in 'good work' and claiming the midfield didn't do its job?excellent work attacking wise....scholes was the pivot and i still don't understand why fergie played him in that anchor role...scholes offered nothing defensively! in lay man's terms cos i know you are a jew(cleverley was the am, scholes the dm), nani on the right, welbeck on the left, kagawa played as a supporting striker to rooney! so who in your wisdom should be curtailing everton's attack? Did Nani, Welbeck and Rooney play in midfield?at least two of them did....a winger is effectively a midfielder, isn't it? |
debosky:hehehehe it would be mad fun watching fat ibime evade a rabid dog.... nateevs play saturday football so nateevs would outrun a cheetah, bluediva is a natural athlete so i expect her to do some "free running" moves to outsmart a rabid dog but ibime? ibime? i laugh in rabies ![]() |
debosky: IF - I'm glad you said IF. This same midfield is where coogar claims Cleverley and Kagawa were excellent. Or do you now need ALL THREE midfielders to be excellent before you can say the midfield did its job?all the good work put in by cleverley and kagawa were frustrated by scholes, nani, welbeck and rooney! defensively, scholes did nothing....he was the anchor in that midfield and yet he offered nothing to protect the back four....his selection is a bit baffling considering his height! there's no way he's going to man-mark fellaini and little wonder the belgian murdered united aerially! What 'job' did the midfield fail to do? Did the terrible performances of Welbeck, Nani and Rooney occur in midfield?stop talking like an amateur.... the midfield is the most important department in a team as they are tasked to defend and attack! our midfield had no answer to fellaini and they offered pretty little when the game was 0-0! last season at old trafford, even with a fully fit defence unit, the midfield still let us down by allowing everton to score 4. no matter how good the defence is, if the midfielders allow the opponents to overrun them, conceding a goal is inevitable! |
StarBoard: @debosky,another kagawa moment that had rooney sprinting like a cow. i am sure chicharito would have outpaced his markers in this kinda situation and get a shot on target! https://i.minus.com/irAoGkaC3YGl3.gif |
dayokanu: Statues are still not flesh and bone, maybe they should travel at all cost for the wedding and jeopardize the rest of their livessisikill would rather have the wedding in nigeria than wait for any british consulate to dictate her fate. you can always tell from her comments shes an "aso-ebi" lover. ![]() |
dayokanu: Some places in Nigeria give very high regards to traditional wedding, In a case where both ppl cant travel to Nigeria due to Immigration issue which no one knows when it might be resolved, what do you suggest they do in such instancesend the statues of the couple--- |
But Coogar, you'd have to be aware of your situation before setting a date to postpone. So if one of the parties knows they won't be able to make the wedding, why set a date that will be considered bad luck if postponed?!
sisikill, shyte happens now...... i know a couple that missed their wedding cos the home office lost their travel documents! they weren't notified until after 14 weeks when the couple made enquiries.....shyte can happen! |
debosky: How can a midfield which managed more possession than the Everton team be the cause of the problem?stop brainfarting! the job of the midfield players is to shield the back four and also supply the attack with ammo! it's double-edged! possession you are talking about was when everton went a goal up and they were comfortable ceding possession to united! possession counts for nothing - as an arsenal fan, this shouldnt be strange to you.... barca copped 72% possession in both legs against chelsea and did not win any of the matches! Forget the missing defenders - Utd had sufficient possession to hurt Everton, but the over £100m of attacking talent put on the pitch were not good enough to beat an Everton defence that cost less than a fifth.stop the brainfarts - we lost because of the missing defenders, how can you ignore that fact when we conceded from a set piece. so rooney, van persie or kagawa should have prevented fellaini from scoring? if you don't concede, you cannot lose! besides that, united had 2 penalty decisions waived by the weak referee who was scared of everton fans! if it had happened at the other end, he woulda given it. this is not saying we deserve to win the game cos we didn't - but how many times have united won the games they didn't deserve? https://i.minus.com/ibyPMEZDpsh0EF.gif a penalty and possibly a red card for jaglieka waived aside! |
lol! even our kit manager brainfarted? fergie should sack the whole lot! disgraceful pigs - all of them! |
Johnpaul88: The article turned my stomach! I have never seen an article as unprofessional as that. Carol or whoever wrote that displayed a vicious, spiteful, angry hatred, towards the person of Song . That's about the worst article i have read.there's nothing stomach-turning in that attitude. alex song has no positional discipline to be a top defensive midfielder....although i have heard wenger say he often instructed him to join in the attack but that itself is a brainfart! it's one of the reasons arsenal are the most susceptible to counter attacks! teams like wigan do counterattack against arsenal and score successfully! that said, he's still a superb signing for barcelona(that's the only disagreement i have with the author of that article) and that is because barcelona are a different side to arsenal. barcelona's refusal to lose possession is their greatest weapon - it means their opponents can only work with 25% possession of the ball which suggests the opponents must score from the few chances they cop! song will do well at barcelona without a doubt because he won't be as exposed to attacks like he was at the emirates! |
onatisi: that kind of mother in law is the commander of her husband and she wants her daughter to be the same toohmmm, different wives with different family background! i think men should put "love" aside for a while and get to know the kind of family they are marrying into.....a mother in law who hopes to put her daughter over me must be a stand-up comedian!!! |
jennykadry: For reasons I know we have no control over, the couple might not be able to travel down for the marriage proper , so why not postpone it to a more convenient day when both are present chaircover: My take on this is that if you cant meet for one reason or the other, then you just postpone it until both parties are available.some people actually believe postponing a wedding is bad luck....i do too so rather than postpone it, picture wedding or a video conference can suffice! marriage is not a ceremony, it's the coming together of a man and a woman to live happily ever after! so i say yes to picture wedding - although i understand why women wouldn't - wedding is a showboating day for them but to most men, it's......"can we get this over already?" |
che che: @ all tanx for your comments, i have been living peacefully with my wife until now, this Baby now is our 3rd child. before now i use to have little misunderstanding with my wife which we never allowed to see the nxt day. but this time, for the past 3 weeks we ve not been discussing as husband and wife again, only when she needs sumting from my pocket. last nite i came back late as a result of traffic, i was surprised when my wife's mother started shouting at me. i dont know if im married to her or my wifebe a man, talk to the mother-in-law herself....let her know her presence is causing friction between you and your wife and she should take her leave! how's that difficult to say? you can get hired hands to help with the baby. couples without parents are exist in this world - must a mother in law stay with you guys? where's her husband - she should go and stay with her husband and let the young blood enjoy their lives in matrimony! woe betides any misbehaving mother-in-law! after collecting my goat in the traditional marriage, they still want to rule over me? over me dead body!!!! |
StarBoard: It's pretty simple:if the midfield riddle isn't solved, we ain't winning squat.before we talk about winning or not winning, it should be noted that 4 fit defenders were missing and had to be replaced by 2(midfielders) who we coulda used in the midfield to control the rampant everton players. we missed rio, fletcher, jones, smalling and evans - no club would survive at goodison with 4 of their centre backs missing! when the wounded ones get back into the team, we can then analyse if we are good enough to win or not. doing that based on a difficult fixture is a bit harsh! fletcher and jones would have added some steel to the team last night.... For me, it's a case of knowing what to do but just refusing to do it.cleverley was decent last night - one of our best players on the pitch. he rarely lost possession but scholes as a partner just slowed him down. anderson should have started and partnered cleverley! scholes was poor - the early yellow card didn't help matters and fellaini was allowed too much space to do as he pleases! Anderson? Please let the dude go.Im not optimistic about his abilities anymore.anderson and young weren't the reasons we lost yesterday....the attack was utter w@nk! welbeck, nani and rooney kept stinking the whole joint! we had a make shift defence, everton were always going to score but we had a superior attack and yet couldn't make it count. kagawa was outstanding but the players ahead of him were rubbish on the night! As it stands we need to trim a lot of excess fat and carry out surgical reforms in the midfield.Else we're in for a long season.we should start with our medical team - they have let me down this season. i used to think its coincidence but not anymore - the rate at which we cop injured players must have to do with their training schedules, diets and the quality of the pitch. what's the point in having players in the squad who would not play cos of injury? ferdinand was fit for preseason starting every game and when the real battle started, he did his groin? he's a traitor!!! And also I'm still wondering why people feel Nani deserves £120k a week.On the strength of his performance last night, he is a dimwitted fool for daring to ask for a raise.i won't miss him if he's sold.A supposed winger of his caliber can't take a decent corner-kick to beat the first man at the box.And his crossing was abysmal.like i said earlier, you never know what to expect from nani ----on his day, he can be a beast but when he shitstorms like he did last night, he deserves a slap. nani was horrible, his last 300 cornerkicks have failed to sail past the near post - his football intelligence needs help and how he keeps demanding the ball when we cop cornerkicks is a mystery - someone with an iota of intelligence should stand at the near post and flick it on but you get the same lazy attitude from the team! ****spurs sign adebayor!**** |
ritchboy: Of course Fellaini targeted Carrick intentionally. You want Vidic to go and double-team Fellaini and leave a massive hole on the other side?in other words, nothing united could have done to stop fellaini from outsmarting carrick from that corner but what peeved me the most was the organisation....vidic was marking another threat while carrick decided to mark fellaini - vidic as a leader should have instructed the midgets(evra and scholes) to man the posts as they were useless marking anyone in the box anyways. if there was a man on the post, he clears fellaini's header off the line and that was that........ as per the game proper - rooney was a liability...he was the only reason united lacked the cutting edge upfront! this is what i keep saying about rooney: when he's on his game, you could mistake him for the best striker in the world but when he's at his bottom level like last night, i am better than rooney. he was rubbish throughout - he couldn't even do the basics like trapping the ball, passing the ball and even sprinting at full pelt! kagawa must be regretting joining united - all his key passes were wasted! scholes, nani, welbeck need to hide their heads in shame! i called it before the game that scholes shouldn't be playing @ hostile grounds like goodison! it's a miracle he didn't cop a red card. nani was nani(you don't know what to expect from him)...welbeck could be excused a bit for being played out of position but it begs the question, why welbeck on the left when ashley young is fit? even when the calvary(van persie and anderson) came on, we failed to utilise van persie by always sending the ball to the flanks. nani/evra/welbeck couldn't cross to save their moms....valencia was scared to overlap and the whole attack looked disjointed and too predictable! fulham next - we need 3 points asap! |
Tough first half. We cant get to grips with Fellaini. he's winning every single ball and bullying Carrick. Good things so far, DDG is sharp and looking good. Kagawa looking promising in the final third but isnt in the match enough. But I really like what I see of him so far. Rooney doesnt look sharp, Welbeck hardly in the match. I definitely see Scholes or Nani getting a 2nd yellow. Which will be a huge problem for us. Rooney and Welbeck off for RvP and young for me.
welbeck and scholes off for me---anderson and young to come in.... in the last 20, remove kagawa for the van man! |
montelik: fellaini causing problems.very physical - what's the point playing scholes here when everton would lump it to bypass the midfielders....very ugly match to watch. rooney is back to his shyte self. welbeck has done nothing on the left channel....nani has been wasteful... only de gea, kagawa and cleverley can walk with their heads high, the others have been choppy. fellaini has won every header against us. it's so baffling....but without de gea, we should be 4 goals down! |
I fear what they will do to RvP.
van persie's clean bill of health in the last 18 months gives me hope......... |
BlueDiva: Josh has no place in the team right now.josh needs the education! if he can get good game time on loan, he would come back a superb player. he cannot receive that education @ chelsea right now because of the wealth of quality players in the squad! |
how do we always get injury crisis in defence?
our medical team is officially the worst in europe - hargreaves called it rightly when he said so. which other club in europe has 4 centre backs injured at the same time? we don't even know how match-ready vidic is after his long lay-off so we have no cover at the back at all! stats from physioroom.com say united lost 1681 days to injury last season - more than any other club - while city lost fewest, with 186. the margin is so huge one would think our medical staff were trained in oshodi! it's a disgrace that we have now turned into arsenal of 2003-2008 with the sicknotes in the squad! |
