chaircover: See george ooooooo!!!! Actually I think us "old school" are enjoying this more than the spring chickensi actually prefer this to the opening ceremony - the acts tonight have been brilliant! george nailed it! |
Official language for the Olympic is French
both languages are official - since the brits are hosting, they are bein polite to let the frenchies go first! |
heard one of the commentators commenting this morning that the stadium used for most of the events was a newly constructed one, for we to host one that means a new stadium is calling because I don't think abuja's 60 thousand capacity stadium will do the work.
build another stadium---the stadium @ stratford is less than £500m to construct! the money those greedy politicians made from oil subsidy saga is 10 times more----if south africa can host a one month long world cup, nigeria can do this easily but the management has to be top drawer! |
Onegai: And they started working hard and planning and are going home with 60 medals. Instead of Nigeria to start training for Rio this week, we'll wait till 2 months to the Olympics and expect miracles. China, France, GB, America have already picked the next olympiads for Table Tennis and they're only 12 and 13. South Africa said it takes a nation to win a medal. Jamaica will go and train more Usain Bolts and Yohan Blakes. And you bet Brazil will not rest until they win a Gold in Football in Rio. Let's see if Nigeria will start asking athletes to train and sponsor their training including competition participation this month.we don't even have the state of the art facilities to train these athletes - sports is also no longer the quick getaway to success in nigeria anymore. the nigerian youths now prefer showbiz(nollywood and hip hop music) than training for 100m sprints! |
realy?!..can't realy remember much about that anymore but do you think if given the chance to host an olympic, we'll have what it takes to surprise the world with a breathe taking ceremony?
of course, we can! money is not the problem in nigeria, management is! map out a huge budget - get james cameron or peter boyle to give us an outstanding opening/closing ceremony, build multipurpose stadiums all over the country and ensure tight security! of course, nigeria can do this.... |
chaircover: did anyone just hear that?? 16 years ago Team GB only won one gold medalthat message was for afam4eva. true that, in atlanta 96, great britain won only one gold medal, nigeria won 2 gold medals then(football and female long jump)!!! |
afam4eva: This is Nigeria not China so stop chatting crap. and keep deceiving yourself with the everyone is a winner crap. The winners know themselves.don't display your idiocy far too early this evening - the real goal is to compete(not the win by force mentality you are chatting here)....nigeria won nothing so what?? it means they have less rights than the countries that won? why are most nigerians so obtuse with their reasoning? did you ever pass through the 4 walls of a school? |
afam4eva: Will they allow the Nigerian athletes to come out since they didn't win anything.everyone is a winner @ the olympics! stop talking trash about your country of birth! in china, you could go to prison for speaking against the republic!
You guys are so lucky! The pictures make no sense. . .out of context. It's not fair we get to be bored later instead of right now. . .with everyone else.
you shoulda bought a ticket to london ![]() |
they amazed me from the opening ceremony, with the dimming of the lights for just some few seconds next thing the whole scene takes another entirely different look right under your watchful eyes so quickly the leave you wondering how it happend.
nigeria did this in 2003 - all african games in abuja! |
aribisala0: it is at times like this I pity guys living in Naija having to put up with such nasty attitudes from some of the ugliest women in Africa!pity the guys in naija? the guys in naija should be pitying us as they are having the best deal. the honeymoon phase disappears fast for guys in naija as they soon turn their glutton brides into an old piece of furniture whilst they keep a harem of young concubines! naija men are laughing to their bedrooms! |
RuuDie: Mighty glad we didn't buy Hazard. . . I know its early doors, but that dude looked to me like the white version of A. Young decked in a blue, Samsung top!. chelsea have too many mechanical players to bring out the best in hazard! it takes forever for them to quickly get their wingers into play. lampard was shyte! |
AjanleKoko: Planning to drink them?planning to rid you of your genital warts, you plonker! |
Dude! I am telling you that this is not about being PC! Seun has more integrity than that, he won't say anything just to please others. Nope, he is a stand up guy he knows what he says and he says what he knows without fear of what may come.
seun would lose his commercial deal with google if he gets too honest! ![]() |
nateevs: I didn't think there was much JT could have done. He had to clear the initial threat.so thats your definition of clearance? he should be toeing that ball to row z! if he wasn't there to make the pass to yaya, there wouldn't have been any goal threat. he laid it on the plate for toure! |
john terry is finished! he typically laid it on the plate for toure....the best assist yaya toure has gotten in his career! |
Oh Coogar don't be hard on Seun. Yes I know on the surface, it looks like he passed judgement about my mom's parenting skills based on a fleeting mention in one innocuous comment but that's not true. . .not true at all!!
seun is the ceo of nairaland - probably the biggest nigerian website on the planet. he has to pretend so as not to look like he supports the use of the cane on kids. seun schooled in osun state where whipping kids happens more than solving equations. the punishment for the slightest misbehaviour in his school is uprooting palmtrees with bare arms. without those hard drills he encountered, would seun be what he is today! |
iragbijile: My village? You really want to go there? One word: THE SOURCEwhere's the source? |
another nail in the coffin for dayokanu and ibime----watch how they would play it down now and say the match is not important or city aren't a quality side! torres would score 30 goals this season if he gets good service! |
Seun: @Sisi_Kill: Your mum was simply abusive, and you will abuse your children the same way. It explains a lot of things.abusive? so seun also buys into the pathetic political correctness? if you weren't thrashed in school, i am sure you would have been an armed robber or a political tout as we speak! i thank my parents for drilling hard discipline into me - i was such a rebellious child but they made me bend! |
anitank: HYPOCRITES!!! Dats what some ladies here are. They come here and trash out nonsense but in real life they're real screwed. No matter how rich a lady is, there is nothing wrong with a man who wants to marry her giving her as little as 2k for hairdo, wether she can afford it or not. It jst shows he can take care of his family with d little he has.....you lack the ability to comprehend. the op and the man she's talking about had been "platonic friends" for 3 years. they were not romantically involved until recently when the dude proposed and yet this scrounger of a woman expects the man to have been paying for her hair all this while? do you expect your platonic friends to pay for your hair, buy your airtime credits and pay for your maxipads? epitomes of firewood background is blatantly obvious on these pages. some women have traded their self esteem for a plate of rice @ tasty fried chicken. no wonder a naija man can openly slap her partner in public and treat her like a mongrel. why won't he? the women want to be treated as such by expecting handouts! |
debosky: All our products are NAFDAC approved, and we have ISO 9001 certification.send 120 of them asap! |
debosky: Your face needs some toning coogar - may I recommend our latest male toning cream for your use?what is the name of your product and is it quality-assured? i don't want a bar soap that would gimme vitiligo abeg! |
ritchboy is having a bad week - take it easy on him. his line of arguments are beyond ridiculous! he talks a good game @ this point every season only for him to backtrack after watching his darling players screw up in the first few games of the season! |
chamotex: Carrick would definitely be a guaranteed starter this season. It's Carrick and either one of Cleverley or Anderson with Kagawa playing behind Rooneytoo many options in that midfield but the fear is the injury prone players n the geriatrics. |
debosky: Is it still really rosy out there?tura or dudu osun? debosky, must you lie on these pages? |
I mowed our back and front gardens 2 weeks ago! Well actually, I asked hubby to show me how to do it, then wrestled the mower from him jor! Did most of the gardens my self in a pair of "hot pants" and (his) black boots!
wellington boots, i guess |
chamotex: He controlled the tempo and bossed that midfield with maturity. I was really impressed by him tonight.i dunno how fergie intends to line up cos he's been bigging up carrick lately. he said carrick's form would determine if we would win the title or not.... http://m.mirror.co.uk/article?id=1151553/ At 3-1 down Phelan was clueless as usual, just staring on the pitch like a lost goat.phelan shoulda been sold with o'shea! |
chamotex: Man of the Match - Tom Cleverley!!!the best english midfielder by a county mile - now we know why he is anderson's best partner. the pass n move skills are peerless. cleverley thinks quick and knows what to do with the ball far quicker than any english player i have seen. i just hope he can stay fit this season----if we can get 30 league apps from him and anderson in that midfield, then we need no midfielder for the next 3 seasons! |
ritchboy: Who cares if you played with three men? The only relevant detail is whether or not it was a legit red card, which it was. Arsenal also had a man sent off. No matter how you try to twist it, losing 6-1 in your own backyard to your local rivals was the worst result of the season by a milewhat was the score line before arsenal had a man sent off? what was the score line before united had a man sent off? after how many mins did arsenal cop their red card in comparison to man utd? you would be very biased to put united and arsenal on the same pedestal - it ain't about listing names on paper, it's about getting the best out of the squad players at one's disposal. ji sung park is an average player but fergie manages to get a world class performance from him! walcott is a decent player but wenger rarely gets him to play to his normal capacity - in most cases, walcott underperforms - there lies the difference! calculate the difference in points after 38 league games since 06/07 between man utd and arsenal - let's leave trophies out of it so we can have a sound argument! You mean the return leg where all Arsenal's fullacks were injured? Cazorla, Podolski and Giroud were Arsenal playersi am sure arsenal have never played their strongest team against united since wenger's arrival with all these spineless excuses. what about the day rafael and fabio played your boys off the park at old trafford? a match you also admitted united shouldn't have won as arsenal had the better team on the night? carzola, giroud and podolski cannot be better than their predecessors(hleb, cesc and adebayor/eduardo)!!! |
ileobatojo: Of course, the word traditional is only to be despised when it comes to the man's role as provider, not so? When it comes to assigning household duties to the woman it is the best word ever created? You all are seriously funny. Hypocrites!household duties are a 2-way street. the washing, cooking and cleaning are female duties. the carrying of heavy materials, electrical installations/maintenance and other physically tasking chores are masculine duties. while my wife is doing the dishes, i am at the back mowing the garden or replacing her flat tyre..... |
ritchboy: 8-2 vs injury/suspension ravaged Arsenal? I already knew you'd resort to freak resulsts. Just as you'd have us believe City/United squads were neck n neck when you got smashed 6-1 in ur backyard, innit?city beat a 10-man united side....that's a freak result. united murdered an 11-man arsenal side without rio/vidic/berbatov/valencia/scholes/carrick/rafael/fletcher, etc.... there's no simply no excuse for the debacle. even when you had a full squad in the return leg @ the emirates, united carried the day. add that to the day united mauled arsenal with 8 defenders with rafael/fabio as wingers and your argument falls flat in the face! If it's not about names, why waste 13-17m on Kagawa when you coulda signed Ibime or Chamotex for free? :with the departures of gibson, ji sung park and mickey owen, it's imperative to fill up the vacuum those players left! it's not about listing names as components - its about how those components make up a functioning unit otherwise stoke fc have no business beating arsenal! |
