you should also send this link to elampiro. i have always told him that UEFA/EPL count such stuff as assists even when opta do not recognise rebounds as assists.

UEFA counted assist for tevez & messi but opta did not count it for them. i think it won't be long when there would be a universal rule for what constitutes an assist. if a player is brought down in the box that resulted into a scored penalty, EPL counts it as an assist but opta does not.
