No be women again? I'm even beginning to suspect Eve's account of the forbidden-fruit-munching in the garden.

I have enjoined women in this forum time without number to boycott wedding/marriage and stick the middle finger to society. They mostly claim to not really care for marriage, which is a joke. We all know the amount of work that marriage is, yet these angels that hate this thing fantasize and crave its prison cell.
don't mind them....
bunch of hypocrites.....when they were supposed to be studying chemistry & physics in school.....they focused on mills & boon novels...fantasising about a knight in shiny armour that would whisk them away into marriage.

they all crave to be married.
it's when their eggs are about to be calcified that they start saying otherwise.....just like deportees claim there's no place like home after they have tried travelling & failed at it.

Coogar: "Give me a spouse or I die!" *dies
and yet, they want to blame the men for their woes. there is a church that told single women to buy their wedding gown and wear it to church so that they can get husbands. grin

i wonder why men aren't subjected to this kinda torture......it's always the women.

cococandy:
You're helping me prove my point with all those your pictures.
if women are not desperate, why would they be rushing to attend such church programmes? i am just buttressing my point that contrary to what you think - it's the women themselves who sincerely believe they are worthless without a husband.

If she's truly pregnant, she may have done so in a bid to not lose her bobo. Of course, pregnant women will to their boyfriend's bedrooms if they so desire it. grin

Get a paternity test carried out, though.
that's the second step. grin

his first step is to get a pregnancy test carried out in a clinic of his choice. she might be scheming to get money from him.

the second test is the paternity test.... if all fingers point to him then he can start worrying about his income & how much of it should go to child cost.

Who says women shouldn't have standards?
it's one thing to set a standard, it's another thing to claim a woman has any dignity in the eyes of the society without her husband.

You and everyone else who has been on my neck the moment I typed that women shouldn't place their value on being married. Yes you're the ones hushing the message of self valuation devoid of what society thinks of you.
whether they place their value on their marital status or not is an academic point. it would not change the norms in our society. a woman without a husband has no dignity in the nigerian society......a man without a wife is also deemed irresponsible in the nigerian society. the only difference between the 2 genders is how they handle the criticism.

So pls if indeed you and those other posters disturbing my life over my opinions believe women should set standards for themselves too, desist from distracting me when I say it. It is really that simple.
stop the internet campaign....

go to the streets & preach to the women making it hard on themselves that they are unmarried. it's got nothing to do with the men.

in most cases, women are responsible for shaming another woman cos she's yet to marry! this is why pastors are milking the situation and posters like this keep popping up. grin

@bold nice.

But Then why are you guys always in the way when someone says ladies should have standards and some dignity too. Enemies of progress angry
who says women shouldn't set their standards? we are saying stop blaming everything on the society or sexism and take responsibility for once! jeeez.....

must everything be about sexism?

I seem to be behind the times. Pray tell, when was she awarded this sum?

Also, I notice you're not against paying over her initial expense. Why is that? Shouldn't the law be fair?
she wouldn't get anything.....
the pay hasn't been awarded yet, they have just given her the go-ahead to table her case in court. she didn't spend a dime when the dude was away.

even if she gets any fraction of the amount she's claiming, the state owns every single penny of it cos she took benefits to groom the child. a test case of a similar incident awarded the woman nothing - i don't see how this one would succeed.

the man should also be prepared to tender his claims. he should claim the wife held him back from being successful when they had the child & thus he's due some compensation. this woman is just trying to eat his cake & have it.

I don't know about any other place. I'm just saying for the place I know. Which is my hometown. If it is not sexist what is it? Besides you can't overlook the unhealthy tension and pressure it puts on ladies to get married. Anything flies because of that.
it's not sexist!
single men/women of marriageable age in nigeria get pilloried by the society.

@bold really?
I can't think of any derisive slang in my language that is used to mock single men over 30. None. If someone knows, let them enlighten me.
nonso23 has answered you....

I don't see any single guy being called old cargo because of his status. Of course the parents may stress the point of marriage to him because they want grandkids but no one makes him believe is value as human is diminished because he's single.
the men are called all sorts of names too....

Why are you guys even arguing with me over something that is clear like day?. Who are those running 'helter skelter' looking for husband in all the odd places if not single ladies. Why? Could it because they are put under more pressure and made to feel less worthy than their single brothers?
because of the biology of their reproductive organs. they put that pressure on themselves cos they know their eggs have an expiry date. that's just nature, nothing to do with sexism!

If the level of disdain for unmarried women is same as that for unmarried men, why aren't we seeing the effects on the single guys?
because men are less bothered about what the society has to say about him. his standard is his standard and he rarely changes it for anyone.

this is why men are reluctant at wedding receptions when it's time to throw the bouquet. meanwhile, single women instantly become agberos hustling to catch the bouquet. let's just admit men have set higher standards for themselves than the women.

Men can find wife anytime they want but when a woman marry a man, they'll tag her irresponsible and see it as an abomination.

That's sexism.
men can find wives @anytime but until he does, he's not responsible in the eyes of the society......just like the society thinks a single woman in her 30s is irresponsible.

it goes both ways......

cococandy:
erm why not?
so do you believe a woman without a husband is respected anywhere in africa? how is it sexist? men with no wives are also deemed irresponsible by the same society.
FamilyRe: Feminism: A Joke In Nigeria—for Now! by coogar: 5:53pm On Jun 06, 2015
cococandy:
pls how is 'the dignity of a woman is her husband' different from 'the respect of is woman is her husband.'

It's really pointless trying to make any sense to any of you as long as you have your minds made up.
So a woman without husband has no dignity and that's not sexist to you and to that mischievous troy20?

Once again I shake my head for you.

Of course it will be a healthy tradition in his eyes. Why not? It places him on a pedestal where he can mess up and his wife will feel like she doesn't want to discard her 'dignity' by leaving himself make a single lady feel like she's without dignity.

I don't blame you troy20 for not seeing the sexism in that 'honorable' adage. Perspectives will never be the same in life.
As you can see, life is fair or unfair according to how it treats you.

cococandy see how you lie and twist a healthy igbo adage just to make your point.there is no length you wont go eh? "Ugwu nwanyi bu di ya" clearly means "the diginity of a woman is her husband".'di ya' is even a husband for christsake! it is a whole lot different from "a woman is not worthy of respect except she has a man in her life" whether loosely or not."ugwu nwanyi bu di ya"is an adage mostly used by older women towards younger women to emphasis the importance of respect and responsibility towards there husbands and homes.its more didactic.it is an adage mainly said to married women or intending wives as advice among other things a mother tells her married daughter as she builds her home.there is even a song created by women for it.cococandy knows it and more.so why twist a rich african cultural adage into such example to support your dark pursuites.anything to bring men to there knees eh? honestly its really cruel and malisciously wicked.this is just one of the reasons men are mistrustfull of the intents of feminism.am still struggling with my live experience of feisty feminists whom no doubt from actions are just out to get men and some comments here trying to describe the noble purpose of feminism.feminism is a nicely masked hatred of men and what we represent.i think men should be extreemly carefull of the women in their lives.
hahahaha!
cococandy has been busted - she feels she's the only one that knows igbo language.

if 6 men sleep with a chic, only one of them can be held responsible should a pregnancy ensue. are you going to name all the 6 men as the father of the baby?

See this young man may go home and start acting cold to his girlfriend now. Mind you he may not be able to afford a DNA test and all he will have is doubt but no way to prove and no way to even ask without risking ruining his relationship with his child's mother.
Coogar. (Puts on my stern face while pointing in the direction of the door)

so because he may not have the resources to prove the paternity of the child, he should take responsibility for what may not be his child? i don't get that logic.

it's better to find out now than later. sambarry should start a TV show like jerry springer where randy young men & touchy-feely girls who get pregnant indiscriminately can do DNA tests for unexpected embryos.

Hello. I'm here to seek advice for a friend of mine who has found himself in a fix and inn need of serious advice. He asked me but I couldn't give a reasonable one.

He is 27 dating a 23 year old girl who works as a secretary. She is a graduate but yet to go for service cos her school has not processed their result. The guy is a civil servant.. a colleague of mine. He earns roughly 80k a month. Now this guy got this girl pregnant and they are confused on what to do. She is about 3 weeks gone. He isn't sure his salary would be able to take care of himself, the girl and the baby cos the girl would likely be sacked when her belle becomes obviously. Not to forget she also take care of her lil sis that schools in one of these universities. Now, would you advise they keep it or look elsewhere?
he needs to find out if she's really pregnant & who's really responsible for the pregnancy.

his salary should be the last thing on his mind for now.

I meann the scenarios re clearly different, the man cheats for pleasure, the woman cheat to get back at him, not because she wants to...
How the helll does someone desecrate her body just to get back at someone else?
you guys have time arguing with these beings that have extreme difficulty with logic. bunch of hypocrites they are!

isn't this the same set of women that argued a man should never retaliate physical abuse against his wife or any woman as 2 wrongs don't make a right? or am i reading their comments wrongly?

now....they want to open their legs and fück another man because their husband cheated. for most women, logic isn't the strongest point. they would retaliate if it's sex but they don't want him to retaliate when they slap him in the face.

i implore you guys to set your standards sky high. if the wife cheats, that should be the end of the relationship or marriage. no ifs & buts. she shouldn't even be around to know if i would retaliate or not. she's going straight to her father's house!

if i cheat on her, i expect her to leave too. i won't even make any effort to stop her from leaving. if she's worth anything in the first place, i wouldn't have cheated on her. if she stays after my infidelity & thinks she shall be given the same grace if she cheats, then she's on a long thing!
