If you can't see the relationship,
no need for this discussion.

By the way no one is saying patriarchy is the fault of men. Women take part in establishing it and of course abusing it too. So by admitting that, I think we've at (least some of us) taken responsibility.
lol@ at least some of us.
can i have a list of this "some of us" category? i even heard the so much talked about evil FGM was run by women back in the days. they go from house to house to inspect new born daughters and made sure they all got clipped.

Stop rhyming, this is not rap section tongue

Wait, what if the tables were turned?
What if the same qualities apply and this time Emeka isn't just 3, 4, 5 years older, but 15!

What'd be your take?
a man has the freedom to marry any age range. we are special like that. so a 38 year old man can marry a 23-year old babe & the society won't raise any eyebrow over it.

some ladies are actually attracted to older guys. if he's not 10+ years older, they are not interested. our side of the coin is covered, na your side get a little comma. grin

Patriarchy made women to think of themselves as passive, weak and that is why they fear to go against culture even if it's not rewarding to them. In fact it is akin to the slave mentality affecting black people today.
The passive trait is just for the patriarchal society not to see them as the rebellious, non-virtuous woman. cheesy
So Patriarchy is still to blame for every damn thing wrong in Africa today, lol. cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy grin grin grin grin Bite me. tongue
oh puhleaaaze....
you women should take responsibility for once. what has patriarchy gotta do with calling junior ones aunty/brother? is it patriarchy that forces widows to shave their heads, drink the bath water of their husbands corpses?

Don't mind coogar.
He knows.

Where are the guys that often feign ignorance when we talk about culture disrespecting the place of a wife and women being accomplices and enablers of these kind of degrading institutions? As in this case, it's the women that are bitching and still want to practice this in the 21st century. undecided

How did the chic even have the mouth to tell someone older than her to call her Aunty? At least fear will catch me small. huh
at least you are not blaming patriarchy for this one. when we say women are the cause of women's woes, you people pull out your daggers ready to stab me. grin

this is your war - men won't fight this one for y'all.

Cynthia has almost all that Emeka wants in a woman. She(cynthia) scored 9 on a scale of 10 based on the qualities he(Emeka) has outlined for a future wife. She is educated, caring, decent, religious, hardworking, supportive and respectful. The only challenge Emeka is having is Cynthia's age, she is 33 while he is 29. He is just afraid of the unknown and the possible consequences of this age factor. Emeka really wants to settle down with Cynthia.
Matured advice please.
tell emeka he's a fool! cheesy
cynthia scored a wholesome 9 over 10 and emeka is still in doubt? the last time any nigerian woman scored up to 7 out of 10 was in 1997. what does emeka want? he would rather have a 23 year old girl that scored 3 out of 10?

There is a friend of mine who is in his Mid thirties,he lives
and work in the northern part but originally from
the south. His fiancee is 29,lives in the south, she is in 400level doing a 5yrs course. During xmas holiday in 2013 when my friend went home his fiancee took in before he went back to the north so they both agree to keep the baby. She gave birth almost end of last year so my friend took her away from school hostel and got her an apartment.

My friend said his salary is about 90k per month so he do send them 50k at end of the month for the upkeep of the fiancee and baby while spend a minimum of 30k for his housing, transport and feeding.

Now the problem is the family of the girl are talking seriously about marriage (paying of bride price). He is confuse that how long can he save 10k a month to a reasonable amount of money to go and do the necessary thing

He want suggestions or advice
i cannot suggest anything until i know how much the bride price is. bride price varies from village to village. it can be cheap as 50 kobo & it can be as high as N2 million.

i need more info....

double entrede is when the entire line conveys more than one meaning....

for example.....this line is a double entrede and this one is so neat it has no single wordplay in it.

how do you expect to put him behind bars when your sentences have zero conviction?/

it means....

1) how do you expect to beat him in battle rap when your lines don't convince us.

2)how do you expect to imprison him when your sentence(punishment in law) has zero conviction(clean record)

And you think I am just getting to know this?
you dunno anything....
you came to this forum not even knowing statistics existed in football. how can you know what opta represents when you were calling it oputa about a year ago?

There is no confusion. You are the confusion.

I think you should take my advise I have given you over time that you should be consistent with your source of Assist data (whether OPTA or EPL/EUFA) and stick with it throughout the length of an argument, and even if you were to switch from opta to another, you should make it very clear that you have switched.

It doesn't make sense after having used opta for several pages, then I say 'PLAYER A' has 12 Assists, you will come to say'player B,C,D,E' have 18 Assists each without stating the fact that you have switched from opta to grandnut and kuilikuili data.
this is the rambling of a möron.
only 2 sets of assist compilation exists. if my numbers don't agree with yours then common sense should tell you i am using the UEFA/FIFA standard. i do not need to spoon feed you to know which of the standard i am using. this is the only statistical parameter that has 2 different standards so all what you wrote there is the musing of a drunken pillöck!

double entrede - double meaning.

American actress Zoe Saldana has responded to criticism following her husband's decision to adopt her surname after marriage. It's usually women who take their partner's name - but are things changing?

What she earns or does with it is a non-issue and nobody's business but hers, as long as she is fulfilling her wifely duties at home cool
and here lies the problem.....
she would be hard pressed to fulfil her wifely duties. staff meetings, AGMs, seminars across the globe, training, etc. so it's lose-lose to the dude.

grin grin grin

His wife's pay has nothing to do with his headship. His pay and ability to provide is what makes him the head.
but in this case, he has reached beyond his station. there's no way he can afford the high maintenance wife. his level is honda accord, wife's level is porsche cayenne. grin

It didn't disappear, he is taking care of his wife, other half, his family.

And guess what, he won't lose weight, she will be doing all the cooking for him
so what would this woman be doing with her own salary? peruvian hair & fixing acrylic nails? cheesy

a man subjected to this kind of torture would lose his appetite permanently. it doesn't matter who cooks......even if it's gordon ramsay.

Definitely! he is the head Coogar, always remember that.
of course, he would have been the head if he's marrying a woman earning N180k per month. in this case, he is not the head, he's a tail.........a tadpole's tail if i may add. cheesy

Kimoni:
grin grin grin. ....l know
He won't go and ask for the reminder - that would be demeaning
i expect this guy to start losing weight once the novelty of the honeymoon wears off. his N370k per month would just disappear like that? are you aware he might have dependent relatives to care for?

He would go as far as he can go with his 370k, if she is not satisfied with the standard of what his 370k can afford, she would then support in her personal capacity. Surely, there can't be a more supportive wife than this naa
however if we reverse the roles, the husband still has to pay up the entire expenses as the highest earner? grin

i knew what i was saying when i said being a man in the 21st century is a criminal offence. it's lose-lose both ways.

I still don't agree with this part...

he should be responsible for the total upkeep, but of course as far as his salary can go.

If the standard is not up to what she desires(most likely it won't), she is then free to make any adjustments from her personal pay.
hehe!
so if the expenses are about N500k, he should use up his monthly salary of N370k completely before going to ask the wife for the remainder? grin

She encouraged him cuz she liked him(no crime in that) but it doesn't absolve him of his responsibilities.
of course, nothing wrong with that....
all i am saying is - she knows his finances before going ahead with him. his resources are limited. i am not saying he should freeload on her completely.....his share shouldn't be more than 33% until he gets promoted.

She must have feminist tendencies to agree to this, this is not a traditional setting
madam kimoni, she makes more money. he cannot afford to bear the cost. she's a boss - which means she's high maintenance. feminism doesn't come into play here at all.

Woged2005:
not really- they both worked on several projects together which brought them in close contact with each other to notice and admire salient qualities. the close collaboration led to "hi, how are you?" friendship, to having happy hours after work, to real friendship, to exchange of visits, to cautious secret dating, now to romantic relationship. Also bear in mind that the guy is older and even though he is lower in office position and education he exudes confidence, charisma and usually takes charge. This is a quality most 'strong' women fall for- a man that takes charge of situations. Honestly if you yank off the power skirt suits from any professional woman, there is a 'little girl' that yearns for attention, love, protection, and pampering. One thing this man does to my friend is he is not in competition with her at all and never feel insecure/intimidated around her. Outside office he takes charge as a man and the 'little girl' in her comes out. You can see that when they are together.
and it didn't occur to you that bit was only possible because the boss wanted to be with him? grin cheesy grin biko, i know too well how women play their game when they want a guy. she doesn't need to ask him out or throw herself at him. she only needs to place herself in a position where the guy would do the needful.

And he doesn't brag to his colleagues about what he does to her in privacy to feel big-----for us ladies that sucks wink wink grin grin grin
i don't think any sane man brags about his private affair to his mates. this is 2015 - that ish is so kindergarten! cheesy

cococandy:
Exactly
cococandy, you agree with me? grin
really? this is a kodak moment.

crackhaus:
You sure about that? grin
very very sure!
women do their hunting & chasing too but very subtly. a premature guy would give himself all the credits of doing the chase but when you really analyse the situation, it's the woman that did the chase but very remotely.

when the chase is kinda easier than you had expected, just do a self-check.....you would realise it's because the target has always wanted you as well but she's never going to initiate any move. she would just position herself where you should do the needful. cheesy
