jihday: I know one day we’ll be free from the grip of the ‘94 set. They pressured the sport minister till he forced Pinnick to hire one of them. I’m sure Pinnick must be beating himself up for not following his instinct and bringing in Paseiro You won't blame Pinnick. The pressure was too much on that man. The ex internationals and seasoned journalists should be ashamed of themselves. |

What is he still waiting for?
Djamel Belmadi of Algeria and Carlos Quieroz of Egypt resigned immediately and didn't wait to be sacked.
Eguavoen's sit tight attitude is disgusting. A journalist said that Eguavoen and Amuneke were never officially appointed so they can't be sacked or resign. He said neither of them were given official appointment letters. |

neztar: rohr would have qualified us for the world cup. Forget his boring tactics Yesterday an OAP said Rohr is the worst coach we've ever had. He repeated this twice. This was after people called him to blame him and other journalists for how they put pressure on the NFF and the sports minister to sack Rohr few weeks to a major tournament. They requested for a public apology to all Nigerians but he refused and remained adamant about how Rohr was the worst coach Nigeria has ever had. |

JayromWrites: I'm so sorry Gernot Rohr for the slander
Thank you for all you did to the GWG Some of my guys hate Gernot Rohr with so much passion. I remember telling them to appreciate the fact that we at least weren't having any problems when it comes to qualifying for tournaments. They said 'Na qualification we go chop?, make he dey go jare'. I laughed and told them that they've forgotten so soon how sad we felt when we failed to qualify for tournaments. Now they remember. |

I was waiting to see people slate and condemn Uzoho for making us loose the world cup spot.
But NO not a word, his error is significantly worse than the error of Okoye the ball went under his body Thar's a Huge gafg and school boy error.
Okoye error was that he was not able to get enough force on a ball that bobbled just before his hand got it to it.
The hypocrisy here is just without measure.
I disagree they are not both the same, Uzoho is worse. So sad |

Our Ex- Internationals and seasoned OAPs have destroyed our football. They should be ashamed of themselves. A lot of them have no business coming on air to talk about something as precious and technical as football. But their pride won't let them accept the truth.
Nigeria is cursed, cursed with the spirit of self sabotage. We always find a way to destroy ourselves by ourselves. It's always the majority who have the most terrible and destructive opinions. No one wants to listen to people like me who say otherwise but my thoughts always end up coming to pass 99 percent of the time.
I remember when I advised people against voting for Bubu in 2015, none of my colleagues listened. Now a lot of them struggle to eat even twice a day.
I told people that since we failed to sack Rohr after AFCON 2019, sacking him few weeks to an important tournament and important playoffs would be an even bigger mistake. But because they feel they know it all, no one listened.
Now we're going to miss out on the WC. We're back to the days of struggling to qualify for competitions. It's a pity. |
Sports › Re: What Was The Problem With Rohr by COOL10(m): 5:30am On Mar 30, 2022 |
ppogba: Throwing away a four goal lead against a minnow like Seirra Leone is enough to be a problem for any coach.
Staying as long as he stayed without a silverware is enough to be a problem.
Always saying Nigeria is not amongst the favorite at the commencement of major competitions is enough to be a problem.
If the Super Eagles were to be Chelsea FC, he would not have stayed a quarter of the time. How many competitions were held under Rohr? That is the question you should be asking yourself. |

I'm just trying to remember all the funny things I've read on this thread since the AFCON exit. I'll be naming them one by one as I remember
1) 'Nwakaeme is too old for this team. We have a plethora of wingers who are better than him'. Well I guess Ahmed Musa and underperforming Chukwueze are the 'better wingers'.
2) 'Uzoho cannot make that kind of mistake that Maduka made. Uzoho is more confident.' Maybe nah his agbero face dey deceive una. They are both the same. |

It cuts across to the time of Westerhof. Including Rohr. You think it was Rohr calling Musa when he was clubless to the team? Did you come out to talk about this 'outside influence' when Rohr was in charge? |

Learn to pay attention before jumping in. I do not doubt their tactical quality but I am bothered about the surrounding influence.
Now read what you are writing if it is not off point.
By the way, I was one who kicked against Eguavoen's appointment before you say I advertised him but I was impressed with his tactical knowledge of things.
Our problem is beyond tactics. That is why a tactician like Oliseh had hell working with the team.
Simple point. Now you see why some kick against indeginous coaches. |

PDPGuy: Well, that was totally disheartening!
Everyone from Coach Eguavoen down to the players (except Osimhen) are to blame for this failure. Our midfielder's lack of confidence in threading forward passes was a big part in this debacle as well.
Anyways, we can all watch and cheer an actual good team - D'Tigress - at their women's basketball world cup in September.. What do you mean by 'except Osimhen'? Someone that missed chance upon chance upon chance and was caught offside numerous times. If Onuachu who is known to be a lethal finisher was up there, he would have buried at least two of those chances Osimhen missed over the two legs. |
