Why Miracle was surprised and against it was cause it was coming from her and she was making it look like he's a 'bad' or tricky human being to the viewers especially. It's not unusual for introverts to start coming out of their shells as time progresses because they must have gotten more comfortable but Nina made it look like he tricked her or something.
