SiriusBlack: @Quid I have read with great amusement, your constant bashing of this thread...I know how you come here at 3:am to heap accusations on me..calling me a betrayer and all that... Let me tell you something...No amount of insults, abuse, and accusations will ever make me stop my work...you can come here, post photos of sulptures, and other stuff like you have done in the past, it just won't stop me..I will keep posting photos from the frontlines, relaying requests for equipment upgrades, and when we eventually get Shekau, I will break my no corpses policy and get exclusive photos to put here..I'm not going to argue with you over what you call classified or otherwise, Only if soldiers at the frontlines tell me to stop, that I will, and so far, I have peeps who keep pleading with me to also put their own photos online too..So you see, shout and scream from now till next year, I will keep posting...you can't stop me..This thread is not for me, or you, or for Gen.Minimah...this thread is a piece of history that 30 years from now, will be vey valuable...Since our journalists prefer to chase celebrities than get behind the camera and visit Maiduguri, I will make this thread my work...Only my death can stop this work...Our troops's stories have to be told...NLders, if I eventually pay the ultimate price, I have given instructions to a close friend, to reveal my identity...till then, this is my war..quid, this is the last message I will ever send you. God bless a Unified Nigeria. @Sirusblack, You are a True Spartan Spirited Patriotic Fellow. Keep up d good work, ur name will be written in GOLD. |

komekn: Siriusblack,
I want to be constructively critical and proffer solutions, military engagement is essentially about strategic management and the allocations of fit for purposes resources and assets, with the best return on application (investment)
Boko is roaming around with impunity because the right strategy and assets are not in place. I don’t know if our top brass are clueless, negligent or just downright corrupt.
Communication is everything in COIN, it seems we are not linked in, units are isolated not in any communication loop. There has to be an interface that should result in immediate actions from pre planned contingency resulting from battlefield intelligence and situational awareness. Expedience wins war and delay loses wars.
We order six Mi-35M helicopters and we think it’s an achievement only two have been delivered and we have the whole NE to cover what’s wrong with our strategic planning? I would buy 20 used mil 24 helicopters urgently from multiple sources Poland, Belarus, Russia very easily on the cheap no more than $3 million per unit and get a S.African or Israeli company to upgrade them with thermal night visioning weapons targeting systems and superior avionics within weeks and we will be operational.
Buy a number of used Su25’s from Russia, Czech Republic, Belarus, Georgia, etc, of course these planes may not be as good as the A10 but are very robust and need minimal maintenance reputed to fly on poor quality aviation fuel, even kerosene, and petrol, again not more than $2million per unit, pick up 24. Possibly even cheaper get after market kits from Israel to upgrade them.
The mbb bo105 is familiar to the NAF we can buy them and have after-market upgrades kits fitted for laser targeting, thermal and night visioning, ask the Germans for a friendly deal at 200k per unit we should get 30 with tow anti tank missiles. That’s not more than $8 million incl. upgrades., that will enable us to give quick fire support through unit commanders not central command even with multiple engagements.
Again get in touch with our friends the Germans used 100 leopard 2 tanks 250k each as a deterrent at our base camps and forward bases that’s a mere $25 million for arguably the best MBT in the world. Another thing to consider most of them have never seen combat are well maintained and I bet in excellent condition, also I got great trust in German engineering. We have a huge trade deficit with the Germans in our favour so credit terms will be very easy.
The deal changer is IFV’s and APC’s with the right weapons stations not light armoured vehicles (igirigi), that a 20mm will rip right through and don’t have enough fire power to reply in kind and with accurate precision.
When I talk about weapon stations I really am talking about remote weapon stations with laser range finders with target acquisition software making use of thermal and night vision technology. Depending on the weapon type you can be almost 100% accurate even at ranges of 1.5km, that means one IFV or APC could possibly take out multiple boko technical’s and their stolen APC’s before they can even see where we are. This would be a game changer in this war there would be no talk of desertion and for sure, know where near the level of casualties we have experienced, which is probably in hundreds.
Currently our procurement to me stinks; I would like to know how much we paid for those giant Chinese MRAPS that are not fit for our purpose. You are Welcome, KomeknThis is exactly what Oga Jona needs now, Brilliant suggestions, can somebody pass the message across to him, so that he can prudently spend the I Billion USD when he grabs it. |

Henry120: Desertion isn't new in the military. Bowe bergdahl, the american soldier recently exchanged for 5 Taliban commanders from GITMO was a deserter. It is not new, it would continue to happen as long as wars are fought.
Here is what the COAS had to say on the isolated cases of desertion
“Most pple want jobs, even if it means joining the Army when the reality of military service comes he drops his rifle & runs away”Gen Minimah". @Henry120, read in between the lines, she wasnt talking about desertation but Lack of High tech weapons to wipe them off during the attack. Thanks. |

NafeesaAA: Imagine Almighty Nigeria Army fled from Dambuo and prevented from going back on two occasions, I guess it is high time these Civilian JTF are given arms to confront these lunatics. We don't have an army in Nigeria. Ok, so that is the reason somebody was asking me what Happened in Damboa in the course of our discussion, its a pity in this country. Iwatched a clip as Isreali jet fighters were taking out HAMAS rebels as they were entering their Bunker Tunnels. They were smoked out even in the Night. Nigeria is a JOKE. |

komekn: Taking a back seat as well as the pressure of work.
Been disappointed by the perverse, vitriolic and debased politicisation of this conflict by our political leaders that's caused me great concern. It is really Pathetic, but when it comes to boasting of country with the highest number of Private jets in Africa, Nigeria will rear its ugly head, Our Boys are fighting without Air support, Why cant they take a clue from Operation Serval carried out by France in Mali ,What they are after is Selling Oil Blocks smh #EQUIP OUR ARMY, BUY FIGHTER JETS FOR THE NALong live our Army against all odds |

komekn: Siriusblack,
It’s great to see this thread is up and running again.
Don't think this will work, the problem is not money but corruption. You will not get a licence to export weaponry to Nigeria without full government consent, you would have to give the money to the Nigerian authority, and you know what will happen to it, POCKETED.
No quibbles, if I had the supposed capital investment budget of $1billion for our military this war would be over essentially in four weeks, With just 30% of it Boko would be almost inoperable in terms of it's capacity to carry out hit and run raids.
I saw a video on youtube today with Boko posturing and making a mockery of the Nigerian nation and its political leaders, in the background was a newly captured Streit Spartan APC.I do not know what specification we have on these vehicles ? But I have said time and time again it’s not just the vehicle but the weapons station on that makes the difference.
Please nobody in Iraq or similar would steal a French, US, German, etc APC, it would be suicide, worse than a Trojan horse, you have just made yourselves roasted beef. You would be tracked so easily all your communications monitored , bases exposed and at the right time you would be laser guided bombed to meet your fifty virgins.
Are we just buying the bare bones , I am not expecting the full suite of C4ISR systems on our APC’s and IFV’s communications technology is dirt cheap right now. What does it cost to have a tracker system on every single vehicle linked into satellite and mobile gps communications; for goodness sake we have our own satellite.
I’m sorry I find this to be gross incompetence, it costs less that £20 quid to have each vehicle linked in and tracked, it should be part of basic battlefield management and communications.
The minute they took that vehicle we should know all their movements all digital communications monitored , logged identified and by now I would have shekau eating HOT humble pie in chains. Instead I have this sadist posturing on youtube with his new captured apc from the Nigerian army.
I still feel there is massive corruption in procurement hence the quest for Chinese weaponry. I don’t even want to know how that APC was captured it’s too painful. Furthermore those BIG BOGUS Chinese MRAPS are in my limited opinion are not fit for purpose for the purposes of COIN in the NE. There are far better options available to us that will give us expedience and precision in taking out targets with great devastating effect.
It has become painfully apparent, with loss of numerous gallant officers and soldiers that the gap between expected outcomes and actual delivery is enormous. The matter is being politicised while our boys are being killed. I put the blame squarely on the politicians who are essentially clueless. Where have you been all this while. welcome back. |

Sadly, Siriusblack's thread was completely erased by the hacking. 13volts was hounded out of NL by Nairalanders who accused him of being a mole within the Nigerian Army. But which way are we really heading to, just imagine a Nigerian Senator going to United Nations to solicit for Aids to help build refugee camps for his constituency people who have Fled Borno into Cameroon borders. They call for security during attacks, nobody responds, Boko Haram, are walking freely, Killing and Maiming them. Yet Federal Government does not want to equip our Soldiers. Where is the Billions allocated for Ministry of defence , when their jets cannot even have bombs in them. It is a Pity |

I dont know where the basis of the 71% is coming from. The road that made up the 71% is it Lagos-Ibadan express way that Killed millions before now. What of Port-Aba-Enugu Express road What of Owerri- Port Harcourt Express road, that is now a Nightmare to Tankers & Trailers. What of Aba-Umuahia-Ikot Ekpene Road. That road Sinks a Mack Truck Head. The list is endless.
What we are saying is that the development rate is not directly Proportional to the rate at which the Politicians, Govt officials are embezzling Trillions of Dollars. My 1cent. |
