I currently experienced this. My Camry 1999 just stopped engaging while on motion without no prior warning or notice.
I changed the gear box but still not very okay, changed it again and it work well.

Put same car on the road (Lagos to Ore), experienced no issue on the journey but the second day, it refused to enter reversing gear. Checked the ATF, realized it was very low. I refilled it and leave it to run for sometimes, the reverse gear is back but with little delay before engaging (about 6seconds).

Hit Ore-Lagos back but the gear never remain the same. It is hard engaging in gear 4 and 5. Only 1 and 2 work perfect well. Due to this, I realised there is much pressure on the engine thereby consuming more fuel.

Moreover, all the gear position experience little delay before engaging.

Anybody with ideal solution to this?

SO upon all the mouth u dey make u only do 120km/hr on a highway. Is that one overspeeding? I was expecting u to be ding like 180km/hr then we know u like speed. 120km/hr is normal cruising on a highway, though I don't go above 130km/hr when I travel, but since u like speed u should be doing a lot more.

Try using that ur 1999 camry to do 180km/hr and come back and tell us if the fuel economy is the same. Fuel cosumption depends on the rpm of ur car. At 120km/hr ur rpm will be around 2,500 - 3000.... but at 180km/hr ur rpm will be above 4,000... more fuel. And u know one funny thing? When u overtake someone and then say 20 min later u stop to take a piss, before u finish ur piss that person u overtook will still drive past u. So then what's the need for speed?

Smiles, Bros I've done 140-160km/hr with the said car and nothing happens.
It just depend on the mood, the free nature of the road and the state of the car.

For thwre to be a speed limit on a road. They must have calculated the differences and other things like pedestrian, road terrian, curvature into consideration, traffic and other things.


You can't just blow 80km on a busy road with a market and likely school children crossing without being a danger to yourself and the others. Walahi, ignorance is bliss for Nigerians. No wonder people would be drinking alcohol that impairs their vision and thinking and still hop behind a wheel.

Brother, Where there is a restricted speed, the move at the level of the speed prescribed.

But you dont expect a fast driver to be doing 60km/hr on a freeway just because other drivers are slow

Supported! I used to be an ambulance driver for a hospital. Believe me, I'm calculatingly good when it comes to making a fast decision on the road.

I saved a lot of lives with my calculated speed. Only lost 1 life out of 15 in an extreme emergency cases.

Over speeding has higher advantages, but don't try it if you're not a fast thinker, you could equally lose your life in the process.
