those houses are haunted. in the past Gov. Obi turned them to Motherless babies home. but the criminals will intimidate them to parking out. so its better to destroy the house. money is highly liquid and cannot be compared with a structure with no liquidity at all.

obailala: Nigeria is a developing country struggling with infrastructural development... You would agree with me that demolishing a beautiful structure amounts to a wastage of our collective resources (even though the structure may be owned by individuals)... There are other things the government could do to deter kidnappers and criminals; those properties could even be acquired and auctioned...

It's just like arresting a thief, withdrawing all the funds he has in his bank accounts and setting the cash in flames... Not a very well thought out move if you ask me...
