Let us all vote out APC across the board in multiple states just to punish them for their impunity and this their bad brand of politics.

They were supposed to be better than the pdp but they have chosen to attempt to make Ng worse both morally and otherwise.

We will do this as a lesson to any group of people who want to do this in Nigeria in the future.

They will tell themselves "Do you remember what happened to APC?"

This is why we should discipline them. So that in future, any group of people who converge to have the kind of plans these ones have had for our country will definitely remember that the outcome is very likely to be disastrous and unfavourable (politically) for them.
PoliticsRe: Let’s Support Buhari As We Did To Jonathan : Ojukwu’s Son To Igbos by coolscott(m): 4:20pm On Jun 17, 2018
Ebuscoee:
Emeka Jnr., the first son of the late Ikemba Nnewi, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, has said since the Nd’Igbo supported former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, he cannot understand why they cannot accord President Muhammadu Buhari the same support.

He ended the controversy trailing his defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC), saying he is only following the footsteps of his late father.

Emeka Jnr., who addressed reporters yesterday in Awka, the state capital, said Governor Willie Obiano’s overtures to him to return to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) smacked of ignorance about the workings of politics in Nigeria.

Ojukwu’s first son said he was only taking to his father’s footsteps by ensuring that his actions were informed by the best interest of Nd’Igbo.

Emeka Jnr recalled how, shortly after his father’s return from exile in 1982, he joined the National Party of Nigeria (NPN), rather than the Nigeria Peoples Party (NPP), which was headed by an Igbo man, the late Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe.

He said: “I can afford to stay back (in APGA) and wallow in sentimental politics of nkea bu nkeanyi (this is our own). But in the long run, what becomes of our tomorrow and place in the great Nigeria project, for which our forefathers laboured, invested their time, talent and even their blood?

“Which is preferable: to be a big fish in a small pond or a big fish in the ocean?

“Real champions are never afraid of the big league. That could be why the late Dr. Chuba Okadigbo asserted that if you cannot reason beyond petty sentiments, you are a liability to mankind. The Nd’Igbo are not better off with emotional politics.

“So, while they seek to crucify me for joining APC, they express support and solidarity for the APC leader. Which is worse: to walk the talk or pander to politics of deceit and duplicity? What is the essence of being in a party that would rather support the presidential candidate of another party than choose its own?”

Emeka Jnr noted that having supported Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, the Nd’Igbo decided to support President Buhari in the spirit of fairness and political goodwill so that when a president of Igbo extraction emerges, other ethnic groups would reciprocate.

Igbos "support" for Jonathan helped make him fail.

This is because they went about saying that it was the Igbo votes in the north (in 2011) that made Jonathan do well in the north the first time around.

Meanwhile, that was not necessarily true. Very very many northerners voted for Jonathan in 2011.

So what do you think the northerners did when they heard that story being peddled over and over again?

They said "Is that so? Okay. Let us see how far the "northern Igbo" votes will go in 2015"
and they withdrew their votes in 2015.

As individuals Igbos can have good diplomatic relationships with others,
but once the context becomes a group/block (Igbos interacting as a group with others) they are very terrible at diplomacy, always pursuing and executing a self-diminishing strategy (politically).

In any case, almost the whole country does not want Buhari for a second term.

Why should this call come now?

When the people are popularly against you, you find out that rigging is very very hard

Could it have been easy to rig for any candidate in 2011 when Fashola was running a second time in Lag?

In my local govt area in Rivers State, rigging could not really breath because the vast majority was in support of the PDP.
The slightest attempt at rigging was easily spotted and resisted *by the people*.

If they were mostly APC supporters in my LGA, it would still be very hard for the PDP (or any other party) to rig because a certain critical level of popularity would have been reached, making it hard for the opposition to rig

By the same token a certain level of unpopularity can exist with any candidate, and it becomes very difficult for that very candidate to rig.

contactwale:
Mr. Ochereome Nnanna, Chairman Editorial Board of the Vanguard newspapers, has described the Yorubas as "sophisticated morons".

Nnanna made this assertion in his reply to a post on Facebook.

Areh Sunday, a journalist and an aide to Delta State Governor, while reacting to President Muhammadu Buhari's declaration of June 12 as Democracy day on Thursday had gone to his Facebook page to express his disappointment in Yorubas for falling for the antics of the government of the day.

He posted:
"I use to think the South-West was very sophisticated. I was wrong. They are the most gullible. They fall for every poisoned carrot dangled before them"

Reacting to the post, Nnanna wrote:
"Sophisticated morons, more like"

This comment would not have elicited any reaction from me but for the fact that it was coming from the Chairman of the editorial board of one of the reputable newspaper houses in the country. A man of his status is expected to conduct himself in a respectful and responsible manner consistent with his function as an opinion-molder in the society.

Each and every newspaper is incomplete without the editorial section. They (editorials) are believed to be the heart and soul of newspapers. They display the values and policies of a newspaper and influence policy decisions.

A member of editorial board is expected to be matured, experienced, intelligent and well-informed. He must rise above politics, tribal and religion partisanship. An editorial member should be able to explain all the aspect of any issue in relating with past events, presents scenario and future prospectus. This is not the case with Nnanna as seen in this circumstance.

If this is the opinion of the Chairman of the editorial board of a national newspaper about Yorubas therefore, one should not be surprised about the view and news policies of Vanguard newspapers about the race.

It is my hope that Vanguard newspapers will caution Nnanna and apologise to the Yorubas for the embarrassment he has caused them.

Wale OLAYANJU
I will comment on this later.
PoliticsLet The Defence Minister Do This Of Forever Keep Quiet On This by coolscott(op):
If the defense minister cannot pin-point one provision of the anti-grazing law that is deficient,
he should forever keep quiet about his
inappropriate statement that the anti-grazing
law that was enacted (through the right law-making process) should be "suspended"
as in the first place, laws do not get made or suspended on the whims or wishes of men, in Nigeria.
They get made, modified or rescinded through the law-making process.

I voted Buhari too. Honestly no one knows that this man Buhari will turn out to be our greatest problems because many of us were thinking that Buhari, especially consifering the troubles of this world, his age, his level of civilizatin abi exposure and the serious voting force in his favour, I thought he will change his character even if he is a Fulani man. Yes, Fulanis will never love others outside his tribe, but we expect him to be a good man. But I strongly believe in the power of God Almight.y He will do something before this country will completely go down because of Buhari and his apc government. Amen
It is not because he is a Fulani.

It is because he is a horrible Fulani man when it comes to political leadership.

Was Abacha not Fulani?

Even though we say he was a bad man, would he have tolerated herdsmen killing in his domain this way?

What about IBB. Would he have tolorated the kinds of things we are seeing here?

It had nothing to do with Buhari being a northerner or Fulani.

He is just a baaaad and ill-fitting northern fulani.

And we tried to let you guys see.

3 things that made me realize Nigerians were not as intelligent as I thought they were:

1). The mad rush (even by those that should know better) into MMM.
2). The way millions of Igbos rallied around Nnamdi Kanu
3). And this one actually came before the first two (the crowd of Nigerians that invested their persons into ensuring the emergence of the failure we all now endure as a Nigerian presidency).
PoliticsRe: Mansur Dan Ali Calls For Suspension Of Grazing Law by coolscott(m): 10:38pm On Jun 05, 2018
Well, before the law was created, it went through a thorough law-making process within Benue state, effected by the members of the house of assembly of that state.

For a law to be changed, the process for changing and/or modifying a law will have to be followed (if the people of the state see the need to).

So do these people feel that we are living in the Federal Kingdom of Nigeria as opposed to the Federal Republic of Nigeria, where laws can appear and disappear (or get suspended) on the irresponsible whims of people whose whims should not matter in the first place?
PoliticsRe: Mansur Dan Ali Calls For Suspension Of Grazing Law by coolscott(m): 10:27pm On Jun 05, 2018
When T.Y Danjuma said the army was conniving (taking sides) with the killers killing (and raping) innocent people,
they said it was a lie.

Now what further investigation does the world need, to know that this is true.

People brazingly violate the country's laws (by killing people) and instead of bringing them to book,

you suggest that new laws that should keep them from killing should be suspended.

How can we even begin to accommodate the insult on all Nigerians, even those who do not live in herdsmen affected areas?

You guys don't understand.

When Odili was governor of Rivers State and Amaechi ran the thugh machinery of the state (which is how cultists walked the corridors of Rivers State's political power) Marshall Harry was killed and when everyone was making noise about it, some convicts suddenly appeared and confessed to killing Marshall Harry in Abuja.

These were criminals that looked like it would be very difficult for them to get the transport money to go to Abuja, let alone organise the killing.

Now Amaechi is in the center of federal politics, and a behind-the-scenes henchman (just like he was with Odili) and we are seeing the same thing. Criminals confessing to crimes the implication of which tilts things in the direction of the known desires of the center.

Crimes that look as if they were told to say they did (just as the Marshall Harry confessors were believed by the vast majority of Rivers residents to have been "arranged" to say that.

A former governor has been sentenced just last week for corruption after a drawn battle in court.

For those self-confessed Marshall Harry killers, can anyone say definitively what has happened to them?

Yes. He was shot by a policeman who was moved from Lagos to Ekiti.

The way it is looking, it is cowering to the demands of so called "big men" that made the police officer escort the politician to Ekiti (even though he officially ought not to be there) and perhaps this happens a lot and only got revealed this time because such a policeman got into such an incident.

Some, as I have heard, have said we should not call the killers killing Benue state and Taraba state farmers herdsmen.

The question we should ask them is...

..."Who moves in and benefits from the land when the killers have chased the villagers away?"

Who moves into the lands?
What do they do when they move into the lands?

What happens between the people who move into the lands and the killers after they have killed and chased away the villagers?

4). Lieutenant General Turkur Buratai:

After the scandal burst that President Muhammadu Buhari’s Chief of Army staff had bought multiple properties in Dubai allegedly worth $1.5 million, the Nigerian Army released a statement claiming that Mr. Buratai and his wife bought the properties from proceeds of their “personal savings”.

However, the same Buhari administration is trying Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia in court for corruption and rejected her argument that the sum of $793,800, which she was alleged to have, was from her legitimate earnings.

Federal High Court judges earn more than Major Generals in the army (A’s Buratai was when he made the suspicious purchases). If the Buhari administration rejected Justice Ajumogobia’s argument that she could have $793,800 from her legitimate earnings, how come they are willing to accept Turkur Buratai’s argument that he bought the alleged $1.5 million Dubai properties from his ‘personal savings’.

The current head of service of the federation, Mrs Winifred Ekanem Oyo-Ita, revealed that she personally and verbally warned President Buhari of the Maina affair BEFORE he was recalled and the President REFUSED to stop the immoral action.

I am certain the list can be very long but let us just stick with a few ridiculous instances of open support for corruption by this administration.

1). The Former SFG
First, the dramatic events surrounding the allegations against Babachir Lawal, the former secretary to the federal government.
This man was found (through the senate's investigations) to have committed gross sharp practices with funds approved for the betterment of IDPs affected by Bokoharam.

The funny thing is the president had established that the gravity of the crime committed by the former defense minister in allegedly misappropriating defense money was so grievous because the funds were meant to keep innocent civilians in the north safe from Boko Haram.

Fast-forward to 2017 when the all the sharp practices revealed to be carried out by the the SGF's company or by him came to the fore, the president (the current president Buhari) actually...

... Sent a letter to the senate actually clearing him of all wrong doing after a thoroughly carried-out (yet, to this day, very invisible) investigation.
