Politics › Re: Fall Of Naira To The Dollar, don't Blame Buhari:- Sen Ben Murray Bruce by coolscott(m): 11:30pm On Feb 20, 2016 |
rosalieene: Sen. Ben Murray Bruce:- Many Nigerians are complaining about the constant fall in the value of the Naira and they blame the Government.
But is the government really to blame? In truth, our insatiable appetite for all things foreign is to blame.
I always fly Arik Business Class whenever I am traveling abroad except Arik does not fly on that route.
Not only is an Arik ticket a fraction of the cost of a British Airways ticket, but the money I pay to Arik circulates in Nigeria and helps firm up the Naira’s value.
As I speak to you today, a British Airways Business to London is ₦2,103,666 while Arik Business is ₦551,545 yet our elite still fly BA But though Arik offers an affordable alternative to British Airways and other foreign airlines, our big men prefer to pay double what Arik charges to BA and other foreign airlines for the same services and yet they complain about the value of the Naira.
I have Nasco cornflakes and I have eaten Kellogs cornflakes. In terms of nutrition and taste they are almost indistinguishable. Yet our elite who will rather eat Kellogs than Nasco cornflakes, wonder why the Naira is falling!
Even something like Quaker Oats can be substituted with corn meal known locally as pap. Obasanjo Farms of Nigeria and other large scale poultry farms have the capacity to provide chicken for the entire nation.
Since that is the case, why are we even buying imported chicken? In fact what is wrong if every family in Nigeria has a poultry in their backyard to give them eggs and meat?
My steward went to Makoko, which is one of the largest fishing communities in Lagos. He wanted to buy fish and they were selling imported frozen fish!
Yet in the very waters in front of them, there exist fresh fish that is more nutritious than the cheap frozen fish they were selling.
We keep spending over 1 Billion Naira importing rice when our own farmers are capable of meeting our national demand for rice. But for some reason, Nigerians just prefer to buy imported rice.
The imported rice we buy in Nigeria is not as good as our local rice because it has been stored for years in silos and treated with chemicals.
Moreover, every time you buy it, your money is going out of Nigeria to service an economy in Asia. The end result is that their currency gains value while ours loses value.
Have you ever wondered why European Premiership Clubs are so interested in Nigeria? It is because Nigerians spend billions traveling to Europe to watch their games, buy their merchandise and promote their leagues.
Yet, back at home, we would not be caught dead watching our own local league.
If we will not spend money on made in Nigeria goods and services, how can we expect our Naira to hold its value and appreciate?
Obviously we can not cut ourselves off from the world. No nation is an island, but at least we can fly Nigerian airlines, eat locally produced food and patronize our football league.
If we do this, not only will our economy grow and produce jobs for Nigerians, it will also make our goods and services improve in value such that they will be attractive enough to be imported.
I bought Innoson vehicles as official cars for my staff. I have never lived to regret it one day. They are comfortable and durable.
But most of all, I know that my purchase helps to keep jobs in Nigeria and improve the value of the Naira. I urge you to do the same. We have no other country but Nigeria and it is you and I that will make it what it is.
If we buy Naija We Will Grow Naira My name is Ben Murray-Bruce and I just want to make Commonsense! # BuyNaijaToGrowTheNaira # MadeInNigeria Be Proudly Nigerian #copied. Always try to let there be enough white space on text posted online. It makes it easier to read. |

I understand the number of countries president Buhari has visited in his official capacity (ever since assuming office) is around 19.
I also understand that the number of Nigerian states which he has visited in his capacity as president since being president last year is less than or around 5
Does anyone know the official count? |
Politics › Re: "Before We Become A Hated Region" by coolscott(m): 10:56am On Feb 19, 2016 |
MORNDEW: ,During the controversy surrounding the then President Yar'Adua's illness and the call for then Vice President Goodluck E. Jonathan to be made the acting President, It was the Save Nigeria Group (SNG) led by Pastor Tunde Bakare, Prof. Wole Soyinka and other well meaning Nigerians that took it upon themselves to organize protests and rallies to demand that Jonathan be made an acting President. These were Yoruba men who believe the right thing should be done at all times. With the pressure from these groups and the international communities coupled with divine providence, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan was made an acting President in 2010.
During this time, Ankio Briggs, Edwin Clarke, Akpabio, and other acclaimed activists from Niger Delta never organized any rally, not even in PortHarcourt, Warri or Calabar. They remained silent. Fortunately when Jonathan won Presidential in 2011 and during his reign as President, the wife who is constitutionally irrelevant decided to throw shades and insults to a man who fought for her husband's emergence as the President of the most populous Nation in Africa.
During this time, the South East who later adopted Jonathan as their son, never blocked the Onitsha bridge to demand that he be made President, they were doing "Sit down look". But fast forward to 2015 General elections, Jonathan became the best thing after Ojukwu and they will do anything to bring him back to power. Incase many don't know, the acclaimed love for Jonathan was not due to the fact that Jonathan was the best for the presidency, or that he was truly their son as they claimed but because they enjoyed lots of Privileges and juicy positions during his reign as the President many of which plunged us into this present economic quagmire.
They told everyone who cared to listen how Jonathan was not allowed to rule in peace, how Apc caused every problem in Nigeria how they are Islamic party, Northern party etc. They came up with the rubbish that Amaechi is a betrayer and Judas. (I guess Edwin Clarke now is also a betrayer going by his recent utterances and dumping of the PDP) Like their gullible followers who buys into anything they utter, even when they do so for political gains, they replicated it everywhere possible and even took such illiterate sentiments that should have been questioned to the polls and crashed. Today they blame every other region for their woes.
The above background form the basis of this article. After losing the election, instead of learning from the loss that Nigerians were fed up of gross incompetence and pseudo leadership exhibited by President Jonathan, they continued with their irrelevant party sentiments, they pushed unnecessary sentiments to the South-South. This days you will hear such nonsense from some section of the youths in South-South as APC has no place in South-South and South-East, they are Islamic party with Islamic agenda and other nonsense.
I must remind my Brothers from the South-South that as at 2014, there were two States that belonged to the APC (Rivers and Edo). That the founding fathers of the PDP came from different region of the country and so also is APC. The APC has among its founding fathers Ogbonaya Onu, Tom Ikimi, Rochas Okorocha etc. From the South-South and South-East so how then is it a Northern or Islamic party? It must pointed out that every party was registered at the National level and serves as a platform for anyone to achieve its political ambition and contribute their own quota to national building. No party was registered as a Regional one.
The nonsense of terming a political party as religious or regional will not profit our Region the South-South. We must resist such nonsense being sold to us by political miscalculators. Every political party should be embraced by our people. We should not demonize any political party out of sentiments but we should criticize them based on facts, sound arguments, and having the interest of the Nation at heart. No matter what they do or say, if they must rule this nation, the votes of South-South and South-East will not be enough to earn them the Presidency seat. So lets allow them continue in their irrelevant sentiments. But when any of their politicians want to achieve their political ambition, they will jump into such party they hated yet their gullible, illiterate followers being used. Like many of them are doing now.
I am appealing to my South-South brothers and sisters especially the youths not to join in this nonsense of terming a political party as belonging to a particular region or religion. When you say a political party is for a region or religion, what do you mean by that? What do u tend to achieve with that? How do you want such region to feel about you? Before we become hated like the miscalculating region lets put a stop to that nonsense. We will rule this country again that is certain. If we must do that we will need the support of other regions and a political party to achieve that. We must not play into the hand of mischief makers, discord creators. Let us stop the saying that a particular party is for a region or religion and has no place in South-South. It will do us no good.

Since they could not be there, they decided to agree among themselves that we are better than northerners, (not as different as the northerners considering we are from the south).
Personally, I chose not to support Buhari because I said I know we need an alternative but Buhari is not the change we need. Politics › Re: The Hypocrisy In Ben Bruce’s Common Sense Revolution by coolscott(m): 3:02am On Feb 19, 2016 |
laidian: The name Ben Bruce naturally generates a number of reactions in the minds of many Nigerians as a Fashionista, Celebrity and Entertainer. Nigerians are also familiar with household names created by the entertainment guru such as Silverbird’s Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria, Cinema and a radio and television station which has helped enrich the broadcast industry in Nigeria.
Bruce’s success in the entertainment industry is indeed what many would call an American Dream come true, and is a wakeup call to the Nigerian youth illustrating that from nothing, one can go on to build empires.
Therefore, it was with much gladness that I welcomed his entry into politics when in 2012; he sought the ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party to become its guber candidate. While I knew that as the rookie that he was, he would have to contend with the powers that be for the ticket and that odds would be heavily stacked against him, I still saw his entry into politics as another leap forward for Nigeria, as ‘Clean Men’ like Bruce could then bring about the much needed change in our politics and help change the mindset of a number of youths that it was a dirty game. Unfortunately for Bruce, he was disqualified owing to issues bordering on his membership of the party then, but for us it was a good start.
In 2015, opportunity reared its head again and Bruce ran for Senate, under the Peoples Democratic Party and won, beating or should I say rigging out mercilessly a former Governor of the State, Timipriye Sylva, who polled a meager number of votes.
No sooner had he become a senator, Nigerians began to witness a new Bruce, who started proselytizing “The Common Sense Revolution” where he has been touting ideas after ideas on what is wrong with the country and how we can fix them. Using media platforms, Bruce has sought to identify the troubles with the Nigerian nation whilst at the same time proffering solutions to these challenges.
The trouble with Bruce’s Common Sense Revolution is that one cannot discern whether it is a publicity drive or a genuine cause to salvage Nigeria. For example, many have asked where has Bruce being all these years? Was he asleep when his party the PDP raped Nigeria from 1999 to 2015? Particularly, when his kinsman in former President Goodluck Jonathan held sway and nearly ran the nation aground. Surprisingly, Bruce saw no evil and thus tucked his commons sense revolution in his boxer shorts.
I was miffed when Bruce went on twitter to announce that he was donating half of his wardrobe allowance to the people of Osun State, following the failure of the Osun State Government to pay salaries for some months. For all its worth, I as many Nigerians felt that such philanthropy was puerile and unbecoming for a man like Bruce. First of all, one felt that Bruce should have as a Senator worked across the aisle in the Senate to perhaps sponsor a bill that would have sought relief or bailout packages for states like Osun. Again, one wonders whether a paltry sum of N253, 300.00 per annum would have been enough for over 30,000 civil servants in Osun, while his home state of Bayelsa owed pensioners and workers too. Many therefore wondered why Ben Bruce wanted to begin his own charity abroad.
Perhaps, like the village rascal, who is not fretful about the notoriety of his image, Bruce has not let up from playing to the gallery time and time again. One time, the senator advocated on twitter that he was wondering why Nigeria with 36 states had to have 36 ministers, whereas the United States of America with 50 states had 18 or thereabout ministers. I quickly retorted that the same United States had two senators per state and asked whether he was willing to give up his seat in order to make his common sense practical! Dear readers, Senator Bruce never responded and as at this point in time he still has his seat in the senate!
From his tweets urging Fashola not to use generator, to his referral to a minister in Buhari’s cabinet as a criminal unto his silence while the Senate in its profligacy wants to purchase cars amounting to N4.5bn, Senator Bruce has shown that hypocrisy is now becoming his favourite past time.
The trouble in his common sense revolution is that Bruce sounds like a socialist while he is a capitalist, a liberal while he is a pseudo liberal and a progressive whereas he is at heart pro establishment.
While I do not frown at his being vocal, I would only wish that Senator Bruce would channel his new found love for activism unto good bills, motions and resolutions on the floor of the senate, guided by truth and patriotism.
This way, he would not only make a good case for himself but also for millions of professionals considering politics as a means of service.

obailala: Let me tell you a short story of what happened when the oil prices began to crash, just between October 2014 and May 2015 when GEJ handed over:
(1) The Naira fell from N166/167 to N220 to $1, meanwhile oil still sold at about $65/barrel as at May 2015. http://abokifx.com/previous-rates-2/
(2) The nation's foreign reserves dropped from ~$38.5bn to $28.7billion, that's a drop of about $10billion in 7 months, with oil still selling at about $65/barrel as at May 2015. http://www.cenbank.org/intops/Reserve.asp
(3) Nigeria's GDP growth rate which was maintained at an average of 6-7% suddenly dropped to its lowest since 1999 of 2.3%. http://www.tradingeconomics.com/nigeria/gdp-growth-annual
(4) Due to a severe cash crunch occasioned by fall in oil prices, the Nigerian government had to borrow about $2.4billion dollars early in 2015 to pay salaries. The FG could not also pay accumulated arrears of fuel subsidy since August 2014 to petroleum importers (this led to the fuel scarcity in May 2015 just before the handover and Lai Mohammed also blamed this owed fuel subsidy as the reason behind the fuel scarcity late last year) http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/05/nigeria-borrows-to-pay-salaries-with-cash-crunch-worsening/ http://www.channelstv.com/2015/12/21/lai-mohammed-blames-fuel-crisis-on-past-administration/
Note that all of the above happened at a time when oil still sold above $65/barrel; today oil sells for about $30/barrel
Now I do not want to imagine the kind of economic humanitarian crisis that would have enveloped Nigeria had GEJ continued in his usual manner of dipping his hands into the forex reserves; only God saved us as a nation else we would have been standing on long queues by now to receive one cup of rice daily from W.H.O or UN outlets.
Did I just hear you say continuity of those four (4) negative events I just pointed out above? Are you aware that the FG under Buhari has not borrowed to pay salaries? It even bailed out the states Are you aware the FG has paid off subsidy arrears owed to oil importers even since the days of GEJ? Are you aware the FG/CBN has been able to maintain virtually the same forex reserve amount that it inherited till date?... Unlike GEJ that crashed it by $10billion in 7 months of oil price crash? And now all these have been done when oil sells for less than half of what it was when GEJ was handing over and you think the present government is more useless?? I challenge you to tell me that these figures and indices I have written here are wrong, kindly explain to us your 'empirical' evidence. Please what has hurt us for very long has been the zero direction of an economic policy. We have been waiting for this since. Foreign investors stalled because of this.
Months ago, I went to collect my earnings from Dealdey office in PH (although I knew they could and shd pay into my account). The place was locked and the other businesses in the vicinity did not know where they had gone.
When I called the rep assigned to me in Dealdey, he said they have pulled out of Port Harcourt because the financiers are holding back on their investments due to the now uncertain economic direction of Nigeria.
In how many places did this replicate itself in Nigeria? We will never know. We will only know that things are far worse off and that whereas economic policy has not had a continuity, it has been replaced by a limbo that even the budget failed to erase considering the mess that was made of it.
I too hoped Buhari would succeed because I like my country. But why should I willfully become a culprit in deceiving my own self.
We hope these 4 years pass quickly so we can have a breath of fresh air.
As a side note, I wished the APC had selected Fashiola as ticket bearer. Problem with Fashola now is he has become too involved with this administration, some folks my transfer some of their negative views of it to him. |

OJUcrook: The Ijaws are gradually attratcing resentment for themselves in Delta state. Tompolo and his Ijaw Militia stole the land on Itsekiri soil; forged a CofO; and sold the land to former President Jonathan's FG led government to be a site where National Maritame University would be located.
Professor Itse Sagay, a Itsekiri man from Delta state is the chairman of the Presidential Anti-Corruption Committie. A report from the committee indicted Tompolo in the land sales scam.
Festus Keyamo, an Urhobo man also from Delra state is the EFCC's prosecuting councel in this case against Tompolo If Tompolo committed a crime, the security agents should (and they can) find him. It is however wrong to shift the responsibility to the community. When security agents want to find someone, the community helps them find the person through the detective/investigative work work done by the security agents in that community and not by sitting back and declaring that the community should bring him out.
It is highly irresponsible for them to do that and uncharitable to those who are neither militants nor belong to Tompol's network of associates.
Do a security agents job and fish him out.
Than being said, I do not trust that the reason for going after him is centered around the noble fight against bad things that might have been done. I say this considering the militant's claim that the APC offered him a place in their party. This however does not justify any wrong doing on Tompolo's part.
One lesson to be learnt from this is that one of the most potent ingredients of power is a pair of clean hands.

Health › News! Bill Gate's Musanto Pesticide May B Responsible For Microcephaly, Not Zika by coolscott(op): 5:50pm On Feb 13, 2016 |
As the Zika epidemic “spreads explosively” around the world, pregnant travelers have been put on pause due to the virus’s suspected association with microcephaly, the congenital condition in which a baby’s head is abnormally small.
While the link between the mosquito-borne virus and microcephaly has yet to be scientifically proven, Argentinian and Brazilian doctors have suggested an alternate culprit: pesticides.
Proving whether #Zika is linked to birth defects could take years
— Nature News&Comment (@NatureNews) February 10, 2016
The report, written by the Argentine group Physicians in the Crop-Sprayed Towns (PCST), suspects that pyriproxyfen—a larvicide added to drinking water to stop the development of mosquito larvae in drinking water tanks—has caused the birth defects.
The authors said that the pesticide, known by its commercial name SumiLarv, is manufactured by Sumitomo Chemical, a Japanese subsidiary of Monsanto.
According to PCST, in 2014, the Brazilian Ministry of Health introduced pyriproxyfen to drinking-water reservoirs in the state of Pernambuco, where the proliferation of the Zika-carrying Aedes aegypti mosquito is very high.
“Malformations detected in thousands of children from pregnant women living in areas where the Brazilian state added pyriproxyfen to drinking water is not a coincidence, even though the Ministry of Health places a direct blame on Zika virus for this damage, while trying to ignore its responsibility and ruling out the hypothesis of direct and cumulative chemical damage caused by years of endocrine and immunological disruption of the a acted population,” PCST said.
As it happens, the northeast state has registered the largest number of cases of microcephaly. Pernambuco, the first state to detect the problem, has roughly 35 percent of the total microcephaly cases across Brazil.
“Previous Zika epidemics did not cause birth defects in newborns, despite infecting 75 percent of the population in those countries,” the paper said. “Also, in other countries such as Colombia there are no records of microcephaly; however, there are plenty of Zika cases.” Source: http://ecowatch.com/2016/02/12/larvicide-cause-not-zika/

Obiagelli: What is stopping her? She will be doing Nigeria a favour by dusting them She is not threatening to do it. She is not the one who sued then Rtd General Buhari to court. She just made the point that the lawyers who did and in whose chambers the cases are (in fact the generality of the judiciary) chose to not push on that matter, trying to remind Buhari that he currently benefits from their goodwill and that on such occasions, they are spoken of as great but are disparaged when unfavourable judgments are given |

[s] OneNaira6: Have you not learned about the ijaws yet? Ever since that tonyebarcainst began his land stealing starting from ndoki despite multiple links from ndoki themselves telling them wtf they are, I actually researched that tribe. EVERY SINGLE SHIT Abagworo said about them is a FACT!!!! It's not a divide and rule tactics like we all used to think. Abagworo might be a snake when it comes to starting shit between Anioma and SE... that's why i never believed him regarding ijaws since v everything he says about anioma is false. Since the ndoki thing, it sparked my interest. The ijaws are despicable and I apologize to dearpreye for saying it but it's the truth.
Throughout history, the ijaws did their land expansion since history. When caught by the indigenous of the people, they turn the attention to the Igbo groups in order to divert attention away from their land stealing. You do not even need to research on that... this thread is A PERFECT example....case in point coolscott. That was EXACTLY the reason ikwerre wanted them out of river state and even worked with Zik in securing bayelsa state specifically for them for to their expansion ways. The ikwerre leaders saw them for who the f2k they are When the war came, the ijaws used that opportunity to turn the ikwerre attention to other Igbo groups. When the war ended, the ijaw snakily stole the lands of Igbo group, indigenous included. Not only that, turned the other Igbo attention towards ikwerre to blame for the abandoned property saga. Very few SE, even anioma, are aware the ikwerre didnot benefit from the abandoned property. The ikwerre had ZERO hand in it but guess who they turned the attention towards. Why do you think the ikwerre, till date, is still trying to explain their stand on that history. I'm not going to deny, even my black @ss thought they were the major contender in the property saga. Even insulted the ikwerre for it multiple times even infront of the ikwerre members in the igbo youth group in my school. The ikwerre had no hand on it at all...the ijaw were the main culprit, no other group. That's why the act of getting ijaw out of River state didn't work. Ever since the ndoki thing, I've looked through this people. PH was NEVER part of their land. The ikwerre owned every land in PH. The part of PH ijaws lay claim as their "ancestral land" is what they started rewriting and claiming current. That part belonged to ikwerre as well. Some of them migrated to some parts of ikwerre land, and their children either 1. Claim the land as one of their own or 2. Claim ikwerre.
I plan on researching the opobo history too. Watching this mofo expanonist and land grabbing attempt in several tribes's land on NL sparked my interest in that lands history as well. The statement made by that opobo politicians and magnus Abe, who is a neutral in all that considering he's neither opobo, ijaw or Igbo, and seeing that tonyebarcainsta stealing itsekiri, Ibibio, oron and Igbo lands in matters of months on this NL and trying to rewrite their history makes me believe everything SE Igbo says about opobo land might actually be the truth. So far, from what I've seen the ijaw people are land expansionist and exactly like Hausa/fulani in terms of property. It is EXACT same reason Ijaws cornered every single money meant for Amnesty for ND and cleaning of ND to themselves. The ijaws weren't the only militants at that time. There were urhobo, itsekiri, hell even ibibio and anioma members but guess who took it all. Ogoni have even survived more land degradation than ijaws but guess who took every money meant to clean up all oil producing area. Even the ndoki of both River state and Abia state have more land degradation due to oil spoilage than ijaws. These are the people they forcefully trying to force to be ijaws despite them kicking and screaming against it. One of the ndoki addressed the situation to them, ijaws, guess wtf they told him? We only claim Una for politics. You're Igbo but when it comes to politics we claim you. In other words, when it comes to oil production which you have more than us we'll claim your land. That's one thing I've noticed about those people. The ijaws are tired of living in boats so instead of pleading to the people that allowed them to fish in their water for small land, the ijaws decided to rewrite their hisyory and forcefully take it especially if that land has oil
The only thing saving every group in south from Ijaws claiming every land in south is the fact the ijaw population is limited compared to the rest. Their new act of claiming they are the 4th largest group in that zoo despite the fact, we all know the Ibibio, efik, etc outnumber them by thousands is the act of using fake number (like the Hausa do) to undermine and bully other group especially in SS. You don't even realize how greatful I am that aniomaland does not have any type of interaction with ijaws if not, who knows we might even be fighting with them over lands like pretty much Every fucking group they reside next to. I can now understand why my best friend family dislike ijaw people. I really can. I used to think that family hates them for no reason.
Thanks to tonyebarcainst I learned the truth about them. Any Igbo group out there who stupidly sees ijaws as "people to trust or befriend", you are not only stupid but flat out slow. Likewise, any SS group that sees ijaws as people to trust. I honestly pity anyone that does. We think Yoruba are cunning, the Yoruba are learners compared to ijaws. Go read about them and you'll immediately run to NL and apologize to abagworo.
I apologize to dearpreye though because there are few of you good ones out there but hmmmm. Nah, I've seen the truth and refuse to sleep on it because of few good ones [/s] Point of Correction!
Bayelsa State was created because the those parts of Rivers State (which are now Bayelsa) were underdeveloped, on account of the high accessibility constraints brought about by the fact that those parts of Rivers State were only accessible by water. Sometimes you had to spend 5 hours by boat from Port Harcourt.
I lived in the Bayelsa part of Rivers State when these talks were going on and there was zero animosity. It was agreed by all that that was the best thing for the region, even those of us from what eventually became the new Rivers State. It was just a matter of necessity which all Rivers Ijaws (then we were all in the same state) could see |

This link is the crux of the matter Cc Goodboiy Coolscott WeNigerDelta I think the OP has established himself as a fraud as he was boldly asked to reveal his nairaland pre-post identity otherwise we will believe he is a fraud and that he lies about his origin, and that he is Igbo. It is a harmless thing to do if his claims are true. But it is very harmful to his claims and rep it his claim of ethnic origins is a lie, which I am confident it is, and which is why he has failed to show us who he really is.
His expression here has just been an expression of fraudulence |

"Nigerian educational systems have surprising outcomes. The smartest students pass with First Class and get admitted to Medical and Engineering Schools. The Second Class students get MBAs and LLBs to manage the First Class students. The Third Class students enter politics and rule both the First and Second Class students. The Failures enter the Underworld of crime and control the politicians and busnesses. And best of all, those who did not attend school become Prophets and Imams and everyone follows them. What a paradox of life. This can only happen in Nigeria where corruption is the order of the day." |

mrlaw93: Hin try jare.. What the Aba guys must do now is they must ensure only the best of the best make make it to the malls. Time was when all made in Aba products were regarded as fake and inferior. There are still inferior ones amongst them but we all know they have great products too (just as you have good quality and low quality everywhere). So this is an opportunity for Igbos to establish their image further in a positive way in Nigeria. No substandard thing should find its way there. This will potentially lead to more millions upon millions going into Nigerian producers hands. To those making no sense in criticizing a power move by Mr. Ben Bruce, this is an example of how to use personal power to effect change (not because you are in govt but because you have the means outside the vestiges of government to do so) lilimax mrlaw93 igbodelta |
Politics › The Judiciary Has Been Good To PMB by coolscott(op): 9:11am On Feb 11, 2016 |
I was just watching TV some minutes ago and a lawyer was being interviewed over some politicians issues with the judiciary and PMB's remark that the judiciary was his headache.
She said many things but one thing she said it is the same judiciary that exercised some discretion, choosing to leave all those pre-election petitions against Buhari unsorted out just so that the country can go forward. She said if we want to come down to it, have those issues/petitions been sorted out?
She said the judiciary decided to let it be for the reasons given above and they were praised then, glowingly. This she said in response to PMB's remark that the judiciary was his headache and some political factions suddenly questioning the decisions of the Supreme court.
On this point, the is very correct and on point. Those serious issues brought up against Buhari are still unresolved and it was the judiciary that ensured it was so. The judiciary are there to maintain a balance. I think it is very immature to have issues with the judicial arm of the governmnt, only when it does not seem to favour you |

I was taught well when growing up. When a thing is bad, it is bad. Forget about the elections which are long gone now. Look at what is happening with the budget. Is it not terribly embarrassing? How do I know that he Buhari is like the rest? No heads even look like they are going to roll after fraudulent people in his administrative team made a fraudulent mess of the budget. Or are you not aware of this? Could it be that you are not aware of the fraud-attempt riddled 2016 budget? I used to think great things of him too but he has undone all of that steadily. I still say he should have protected his legend by not running. |

Are you so deviod of reasoning that you lack the insight to know these information can easily be gotten by following the FOI act?
