Seriously, my friend told me about this when he dropped out to continue his studies in Cotonou. I'm not surprised at all... 🥺
Please, regarding the internet connection: - how much do they cost? - do they last than the average "unlimited data" promised here? - and how beneficial is the place for someone who wants to work remotely?
God bless you OP. |

tensazangetsu20: Damn tech is so crazy. Even I get shocked of the kind of things I see everyday. Some survey was done on the salaries of Blockchain developers and the least salary came in at 650 USD a month and the highest came in at 30k USD a month.
I thought the 30k USD a month figure was just a lie until someone posted his total compensation in a data structures group I am a member of on Facebook. It came down to 33k USD a month and this person lives in Nigeria. Dropped out of futa after 2 years like has no degree and has been able to achieve this whereas someone with PhD Is teaching for 30k naira a month.
Life no balance o. God, tech is just one crazy field. Its why we should remain humble o cause no matter how big you think you are a ton of people are bigger. I hope it's not the guy I heard of. There some lowkey crypto guys in FUTA now. This particular guy has a server in his aprt because he develops several Blockchain projects for crypto startups. Blockchain guys are hitting it big. |

Another reason why I'm hesitant is that fact of marriage. Mek pesn no divorce me come collect my half of my properties. As if she dey there with me when I wan shedding blood and tears, when I was putting in extreme hard work and sleepless nights in order to be where I am now. Because I swear to God, I will assassinate her, even if its the last thing I do on earth.
Na why Nigeria dey more appealing to me.
I'd appreciate it if someone with a more compelling reason contributes to this thread. Boss, no go kill person ó. U can follow d likes of Ronaldo, Pique and some other big guys there. No legal marriage, una go just dey so if divorce happens, no splitting of properties. |

SavageBoy: SWE isn't saturated.
People are jus trooping in but the % of people that knows it at exceptional degree is just a little fraction. Besides there are more than enough jobs for the large number of software engineers that know what they're doing.
Same with product design. Forget the large number of people rushing to learn UI/UX design, like what tensa once said; Nigeria do not really have world class designers. Sure, we have the very good ones, but they are very scarce. The rest are just your regular designers.
So, I'm not worried about the numbers or saturation level of any skill. My aim is just to be world class, which very few will attain. I agree with you 100%. That's why I want to take my time and understand what I'm doing. I'm not rushing anymore. I just want to attain the DE role because it cuts across other domains. As a Data Engineer, I'll have an idea of cloud computing, Backend, a bit of Cyber and other popular fields. So help me God |

naijasensei: Thanks for this. I seriously don't understand the desperation I have seen in this thread. How can people be thinking, and even talking about taking drugs in order to achieve their objectives? Is it when they discover they are addicted, or that there are some hitherto undiscovered side effects; is that when they will learn? The entertainment industry is littered with many examples of people who used 'mild' drugs to help them maintain their busy schedules. All it took was one mistake, and they ended up dead. Three examples stand out - Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, and Heath Ledger. As I always say, wise people learn from their mistakes, but wiser people learn from other people's mistakes. As always, this is my personal opinion. I agree with you . Seriously, it's not worth it. Life na marathon.. We still have a long way to go, by God's grace. |

I was having a discussion with an old time Friend. He's a product of Mathematics and computer science, OAU. I'm not exaggerating, in my life I've not seen someone that knows mathematics like he does. This guy is a beast. Not capping.
He's also into programming, knows Java and Python on an advanced level. So on Sunday, we were talking about tech on ,I now mentioned Leetcode. I was surprised he hadn't even heard about it before, and funny enough he said he knows DS&A quite well, told me he started learning it in 2020. Though he said the thing is tough sha
He said he heard about it from CS Dojo, and decided to learn it for learning sake. The guy didn't see the power of the knowledge he already has. He was even using those technical jargons you guys use here; Array, hashmap, big O notation, how to use algorithms to determine the runtime of code, he talked about so many stuffs I couldn't understand
And I'm like if I knew what this guy know, I won't be in Nigeria. God forbid. I later told him about Leetcode, he said he will check it out and register. I could see the joy in his face when I told him about leetcode
SWE, DS&A and Leetcode issa goal. If hat's the fastest way to leave the trenches for good, and requires me sacrificing sleep and pleasure for sometime in order to get good at it, I will. I swear down I initially heard about Leetcode fro a Naija babe on YouTube (Bukola). She works at Google now.. According to her, she studied it day and night for months and later started appyling for jobs. Since I'm following the Data Analytics pathway, I'll be learning DS&A by the sides when I plan to enter Data Engineering. For now, I'll learn what I need to become a BI dev or Data analyst. |

OurTruth: Interview continues:
Of course, anyone with a previous military record against the "Old Empire" is also shipped off to Earth. A list of "untouchables" include artists, painters, singers, musicians, writers, actors, and performers of every kind.
For this reason Earth has more artists per capital than any other planet in the "Old Empire". "Untouchables" also include intellectuals, inventors and geniuses in almost every field. Since everything the "Old Empire" considers valuable has long since been invented or created over the last few trillion years. They have no further use for such beings. This includes skilled managers also, which are not needed in a society of obedient, robotic citizens. 1. Some people are gifted than others, are aware of this gift, and are always positioned to succeed earlier than others (irrespective of their input). A great example is Rema. In one of his featured songs, he said, "you no fit kill person wey don die before." I initially didn't put any meaning to this, but later when I started listening to his songs often, I started see him as a spiritual being that is aware (consciously or unconsciously) of his being. .... As for the reincarnation An example is Elijah. Many years ago, some bricklayers came to work working in our compound and I overheard thier discussion. Their boss said (in Yoruba): did you know that Elijah didn't die naturally but came back to life in the form of John the Baptist? His boys: no The boss: He came back because he had to pay for some of his actions during his 1st life. When he made the fire fall on his sacrifice in the competition with the prophets of baal, he beheaded all 400 of them out of anger, which wasn't supposed to be so. That was why he came back as John the Baptist, and he was also beheaded in a cruel way." ... I later asked some people in church about this school of thought, but no one gave me a soothing answer. Now, I might be correct or not. Like I said, I'm open to any ideas. 2. Most of the influential/successful people on earth do not really follow the principles of any religion, but they align with one just to feel among and blend in the society. Examples are local and foreign politicians. 3. Personally, I've had experiences where I remember that I've done something or being somewhere before, but I can't always remember where. I had a encounter a demonic friend recently, who was into fetish things and spirituality. He told me that reincarnation is real and that most of us, during our 2nd lives, are rewarded based on our performance in the 1st lifetime. He said some people could have been kings who did good during their first life, so in their second life, tho they might not be kings again, but they'll have traits or flashbacks of royalty and things will go smoothly for them. Whenever I watch documentaries about the catholic empire. I always look forward to visiting the library in the Vatican city (one of the most guarded places on earth. Why is it guarded? Are they trying to hide some truth from the public? Are there things we might know that will disrupt everything we've been made to believe? Nonetheless, I really want to know who I am, what I am capable of and how to attain the highest form of natural spirituality without relying on any religious beliefs. |

Irupetepete: 2022,my year of jappa from Nigeria and its madness.. Could you all believe I spent almost 30k to go look at an abandoned and wrecked family house? That's how my financial woes started... What Nigeria juju cannot do does not exist... The last time I visited that village was 17yrs ago... The urge to visit again was strong despite family and friends warning me not to go... Went to my dad's family house, snap pictures. Went to my mum's family house, snap pictures, went to where I was given birth to, the first house my dad rented, snap pictures.. I didn't even enter these houses o... It was when I got back to base that my mind calmed down.. If you are from akoko, especially oka, you need serious deliverance from the shackles of that town... Spent money just to go look at abandoned houses.. Thank God cos I know I will be finally free and Affliction shall not rise the third time... What village wifi cannot connect does not exist Ìkàré, Àkókò, Akungba, etc.. All those areas ehn. Old people plenty anyhow so you no even know which one to trust. Similarly with old houses, and people still dey live there. Makes me wonder the type of jazz/hypnosis/belief tying them down there. I'm not from there, but I've been making some deliveries there recently, so I got to know those places. |

SaveMeLord: 98% of Nigerian women are looking for a Messiah that will carry all their load without them having to do anything. Op the type of lady you are looking for to marry in Nigeria. There are only 464 of them. 350 are already married and have been married for long, 60 have travelled abroad and most have been taken by reasonable men there and the remaining 54 are here in Nigeria scattered across the Country i.e at least 1 or 2 per state.
Now Op the probability of you meeting the type of woman that will want to be a partner and sacrifice in the marriage is the same as the probability of winning the USA Powerball lottery which is very unlikely.

So my first step is to identify what I want and how I can achieve it, I remove every form of limitations, including the believe that I may be under a curse, fights every form of stupidity by analyzing them and consciously discouraging them, then began building my mental ability.
I began to make logical decisions and put my energy to doing what I believe in (I stopped dreaming and wishing, I stopped believing in superstitions, I began to do and to achieve)
Guess what? Nothing stopped me, in fact, I received helps, I received lots of spiritual helps, (I do feel some spiritual presence which the church will rather spend days binding) but those spirits began to get happy with me, and go to any length to do my wills (if anyone offends me, even though, I naturally forget about it to move on as easily as I can, they will feel the Same pain they put me through, unfailingly provided i am pained at heart) because of this, those who have had an encounter with me and try cheating me fears me.
Boss, I'd really like to understand this place deeply. Though I've read your post severally, but this place caught my attention.
How did you activate the spiritual presence and started getting help from them?
Were you doing any in particular or you just changed your mindset and it worked? |
