Godvilla: I took out time to comapre and contrast IPS and AMOLED display and it turned out IPS dispaly has an edge ova AMOLED.not just an edge. Its way better. |
Thrillidad: The reason why he sells galaxy S3s for 60k is most probarbly cause he got the phone on insurance in the states and later on reported the phone as lost and therefore leading to the block of use in the states and only in the united states. After that the company replaces the phone free of charge. And so I guess that's why he sells the phone at such a low price in nigeria. (This is only an opinion)is 60k a low price? what happened to selling 10k? |
tumababa: Dat would av been easy if 612 is d latest iOS. Not everybody can restore to 612. U must meet some criteriathere's actually a way of restoring to 6.1.2. Though you must have saved your SHSH blobs previously for it to work |
sun_temi: Bros Coolstan, how will he upgrade to iOS 6.1.2 from iOS 4.3.1. Can u pls explain. I will love to learn toofollow these steps 1. do a backup of your device using itunes. 2. Download the ipsw file for the ios version you want to upgrade to. Note that ipsw files differ from device to device. make sure you download the particular version for your device. 3. put your device in recovery mode. This can be done by holding the power + home button till you see the apple logo flash and releasing the power button while still holding the home button and then releasing the home button just before the device comes up. It will take a few trials tho but the trick is to release the home button 8-10 seconds after releasing the power button. 4. Connect to your pc using usb 5. open itunes 6. it will detect that your phone is in recovery mode and ask to restore or update 7. press and hold your shift key + the update option 8. it should open the place you stored the ipsw file on your pc. 9. if it doesn't locate the file manually and select it. 10. itunes will connect to the software update server to verify the update. pls make sure you have a working internet connection. 11. follow the on screen steps and accept any terms. 12. When its done restore your files from the backup on your pc. 13. Congrats your phone is now upgraded |
EllyBrainy™:well i've used all oses and i can say the following 1. Ios is Holy grail. Its on an entirely different level 2. Android is a great os but ios is way ahead. 3. Blackberry os was dying and is recently going through a revival 4. Symbian is dead and gone. used to love the os5. Windows is new in the market. with time they might get there if they continue to improve |
EllyBrainy™:android has got nothing on ios. When it comes to gaming ios is holy grail |
Mogten: .Retina display? Who dash monkey banana |
Koolwilly: What could be wrong? I downloaded the needed IPSWfunny ppl still use sn0wbreeze. The ipsw is either corrupt or not compatible with your device |
Koolwilly: I have finally made up my mind to upgrade my iPhone4 from iOS4.3.1 to 6.1.3 would do a tethered jailbreak. Lead me with ya prayers......why stress yourself by going for a tethered jailbreak and going through the stress of booting from a pc anytime your device loses power? Just upgrade to 6.1.2 and jailbreak with Evasi0n untethered jailbreak. Really there's no difference between 6.1.2 and 6.1.3. The only difference is that apple patched the jailbreak exploits used on 6.1.2 |
tomii: pardon me bt wot is the java in an android device for?for running applications with the .jar file extension |
Frankenstein: So phantom A+ is out too? What upgrades does it have?a quadcore chip clocked at 1.2ghz runs jellybean 4.2.1 |
Frankenstein: Oh really? Where can I download Java and Flash from?android stopped supporting flash since html5 was developed. You don't need those but if you insist search the playstore |
milee: Kindly confirm, does A+ have USB OTG?am yet to confirm that it has that feature. |
labellat: So the A+ is only on the pack?yes. The a+ is just on the pack and fifa 12 works flawlessly on it without any lags. |
Ok this post is for those who already have the A+ and are trying to root it but can't seem to find the developer options to enable usb debugging on the device. By default the developer options menu is hidden on android versions 4.2 and above. To access the menu do the following 1. Go to settings 2. About phone 3. Build number 4. Tap the build number seven (7) times. 5. You should see a message that you're steps aways from being a developer. 6. Tap seven (7) more times to get the message 'you're now a developer' 7. You should now have the developer options menu on your device. 8. Use the same method used to root the phantom A on the A+ 9. Enjoy |
fxstudent: Anybody using Android 4.2.2 or 4.3 on their F7?the A+ comes with 4.2.1 out of the box and the model number is still F7 |
Other features include: 1. Ability to get easier access to contacts with dialpad auto-complete. 2. Bluetooth now pairs with low-power devices. 3. Location features are now kept with always-on wifi scanning. 4. Developer bits...gpu logging, events and traces are now shown in real time. This might sound boring but its a great step ahead for developers |
My phantom A was stolen 2days ago at orile along lagos-badagry expressway but i don't really want to go into details. I have toyed around with a friends phantom A+ too and i think i'll buy it. Eroot works fine one the A+. Used it to root the device. It has an updated quadcore chip. All the apps and games i threw at the device ran smoothly and flawlessly without any lags. It has hspa+ which is an improvement to the normal hspa on the phantom A. Funny enough the model number for the A+ is still F7. |
Blewusi: You are 100% correct. If you cannot update your Samsung device via OTA, Samsung has given another alternative: ODIN or Samsung KIES (That's manual installation). Grand Duos has NFC. You can check, or if you want I'll provide you with links. And I agree with you: NO DEVICE IS PERFECT. My Grand Duos also had its flaws. After several complaints by users listened and sent updates one after the other and those issues were resolved. The almighty Galaxy S4 itself had its flaws. Out 16 GB internal memory, only 8 GB was available to the user. People started complaining and Samsung sent a software update (OTA), making 10 GB available to the users. Still people were complaining, because they said after installing 2 or 3 games, the internal memory was FULL, since most games are in GB, and Samsung doesn't allow apps to be moved to SD card. Once again, Samsung LISTENED and sent another software update that now allows users to move apps to SD card. I'm also facing the same problem with my Grand Duos: I cannot move apps to SD card. But the good news is those who have manually installed the test ROM of Android 4.2.2 released for Grand Duos have come to testify that apps can now be moved to SD after that update. This is what SOFTWARE UPDATES do. All the information I've shared is on the net.you're right too but i was actually talking bout ppl not complaing about lack of nfc on the f7. I have a lot of friends that use the grand. I know it has nfc. |

Blewusi: He should have added that THOUGH S2 IS CURRENTLY RUNNING ON JELLY BEAN 4.1.2, some people are still enjoying theirs on Gingerbread. But he said he knows a lot of people who are using their S2 on Gingerbread without adding that S2 is currently running on Jelly Bean 4.1.2, thus making look as if S2 is still on Gingerbread Read his post well. You're worried about me MOCKING him. But you've not said anything about he INSULTING me. Go through all my posts on this thread and see whether I've insulted anybody. But that guy Coolstan (Mr. Grammer) has insulted me several times without any provocation. I believe we're all here to LEARN from each other. You don't need to insult to make your point .So I expect you to ADVISE Coolstan (Mr. Grammer) to choose and SPELL his words CORRECTLY before advising people to go and hire a private tutor.it's really pathetic that you can't tell a typo when you see one. |
The truth remains that 1. No mobile phone manufacturer can satisfy all it's customers. 2. Critics will always exist. 3. Ppl here complaining about lack of OTA updates for Tecno should tell me how many of them have ever successfully updated their android device via OTA? My guess none/few. I had a friend who still used 2.3.5 gingerbread on his GS2 after several failed attempts to update via OTA until i updated the device via Odin and a custom 4.2 jellybean rom recently. 4. It's funny you guys haven't even complained bout the lack of NFC? 5. No device is perfect. If you like a device buy it and learn to live with its flaws don't come on here critising the manufacturer |
Colin Adua: 1) The A+ goes for 37k- convince me where? Even 37k is still on the high side. Oh? Wait it gets to 5k b4 you buyyou can't satisfy everyone. If they added all features would they have new products to sell? |
paccino: I guess you guys are in a hurry to comment without understanding. @ coolstan never said GS2 still runs on Ginger bread. The phone came with ginger bread and many users don't see the need to upgrade because they feel the ginger bread is serving them well. That's all he was saying.... Guys like the two of who make comments like these might not possess or have used these phones before. Please read well before you comment. @ deejay_harry1you have said it all!!! Thank you |
Blewusi: Hahahahahahahaaaaaa!!!! Who said S2 is still running on Gingerbread 2.3.5? Get your fact right. It's only Tecno who don't UPGRADE their phones. Samsung does.I told you before, you need to GET MORE EDUCATION. Now check this link:you can't read properly right? Or didn't you have an english teacher in high school? That there's an ota update for a phone doesn't mean everyone must update. Lemmi explain with an example since your dumb skull cant assimilate words properly. Ios 6.1.3 is the last ios 6 release but i still rock 6.1.2 on my iphone 4s because am jailbroken and there's no 6.1.3 jailbreak as apple patched that. Hope you understand better now? If you don't get brighter grammer and a dictionary. Maybe hire a private tutor |
Frankenstein: Skype doesn't work properly. Battery is bad, takes aeons to charge completely. Java : No. Flash : No. Ebook reader : No.you probably bought a fake device. Sykpe works perfectly. As for the other stuff don't you have playstore to download from or you want the phone manufacturer to preinstall all the apps on playstore on the device before you buy? |
Colin Adua: But seriously Tecno fans, this phantom A+ is a disappointment. I was saving to get it, but am confused now. The specs didn't tally with the price.get your facts right before you complain. 1. The A+ goes for 37k 2. It has Hspa+ 3. It has an updated quad core chip 4. How many phones in its price range support USB on the go? 5. No OTA? Well thats the only point you made but really this is Nigeria and i don't even think thats a serious issue. I know a lot of ppl that still enjoy their S2 on gingerbread 2.3.5 |
Confirmed! The A+ has an updated chip and all games (fifa 12) work perfectly on it. Tecno sure corrected their initial blunder |
deejay_harry1: they never started like tecno.. tecno started in d worst form known to man.... CHINKO PHONESis your post supposed to be funny? |
Lord Orochimaru: One thing people fail to understand is that all fingers are not equal. Samsung have failed woefully in producing low-budget phones with high quality. The best they produced is a dirty contraption which I have forgotten the name that comes without 3G, enter tecno. Tecno although not the best at least produce phones with quality enough to skype, use instagram, play games e.t.c for a sum most samsung users will term "change". Now, Nigeria being a 3rd world country with poor people everywhere who can't afford the might of samsung can also ping with the F7 as their sammy brothers are pinging with their S3...samsung are a great brand no doubt( air gestures, inbuilt facelock, advanced GPU OTA updates..etc) but if they were to produce the F7 it would cost us 50K...for those who say we should have bought the Gionee, u folks have a point but the fact exists that most people know tecno better, and until recently, Gionee didn't have a service center in Nigeria. Having said all these, samsung is in a higher league than tecno but for its price n quality, tecno have tried...also they who harbour beef against tecno should desist cos tecno workers now eat fishnice post. LOL at the fish joke tho |
Y'all pls STFU about this Samsung ish like they're some god. Remember they're from south korea and started like Tecno too. Don't tell me the samsung devices you know are just the galaxy series. Remember the R220 blue display? That too is a samsung product. Now see the height they have attained. I believe that if y'all quit dissing Tecno in the next couple of years they might be better than Samsung. Ask Nokia if you think am joking. |
used to love the os
