PoliticsRe: Rochas And His Monumental Looting Of Imo State by cooltone: 9:42pm On Jul 20, 2014
Foolish people with foolish propaganda, what you people are propagating is unbelievable. You first started that he borrowed money and all that was false, next you want to raise corruption propaganda and character assassination, I bet you that won't still work. The PDP and Jonathan are the ones committing crimes against Imo people and Nigeria as a whole. Have you cared to ask where is our 20 billion dollars, the subsidy scam and a whole lot of crimes against Nigerians. Finally Rochas has done close to miracle in Imo state with our very little or no resources.

But the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, still insisted that the governor’s planned registration was condemnable. Speaking to newsmen over the weekend at the PDP secretariat, Owerri, during the presentation of 400 bags of rice to the Hausa community in the state to mark end of Ramadan fasting, the Seriki, Alhaji Baba Saidu Suleiman, explained that the governor never directed them to register their members residing in the state. The seriki, who was represented by Prince Suleman Ibrahim, explained that the decision was taken by the Hausa leaders to enable them monitor closely the activities of their members in the state. “We decided to join hands to know ourselves to enable us check infiltration because people were associating every Hausa person with Boko Haram insurgency. “So, the government did not direct us to register ourselves; it was a decision we took without any external influence,” he explained. He noted that Hausa, Igbo, Christians and Moslems in the state were living in peace. “We cannot live without the Igbo and they cannot live without us. Allah has joined us together,” he stated. However, speaking earlier, the Chairman of PDP in Imo State, Mr. Nnamdi Anyaehe, described the governor’s purported action as “criminal and unconstitutional.” He said that Nigeria, as the most populous country in Africa, has different religious, cultural and traditional beliefs, adding that “everybody should be allowed to practice his/her religion irrespective of the diversity.” The chairman expressed happiness that the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan had provided an enabling environment for people to practice their religion, saying that any attempt to cause disunity must be discouraged.

Omo_Tier1: What is this one saying? To build an airport is not rocket science! If have ever been to Orly Airport in France or even Luton Airport or london City airport, then you would realize that it takes less to have an effective airport!

Nigeria have the money and the financial might to build an airport better than Pearson airport in Toronto. When you have mediocre leadership, you get what you see in the name of renovation in port harcourt international airport.

If you sell 8 of Jonathan's jet, you would a befitting Terminal for Portharcourt and Enugu Airports?
We don't even have what the OP posted. The Portharcourt international Airport is worse than mile one park. I travelled through there just about two days ago. What I saw I would not even want for my enemy. The place is hell and far from what an airport should be even our local standard. Zero infrastructure, zero security and zero service delivery.

SENATE SEEKS 7YRS JAIL TERM FOR SOCIAL MEDIA CRITICS

Category: News Published on Wednesday, 04 December 2013 05:00 Written by Turaki A. Hassan Hits: 5454
The Senate has reached an advanced stage to pass a bill that seeks seven years jail term for social media critics found guilty of inciting the public against the government.
The proposed legislation which has scaled second reading in the upper legislative chamber is also proposing a stiffer punishment for internet fraudsters and scammers in Nigeria as those convicted will face a seven years imprisonment.
The joint Senate Committees on Judiciary, Human Rights and legal matters, Drugs, Narcotics and Financial Crimes led by Senator Umaru Dahiru (PDP, Sokoto), yesterday organised a one day public hearing on the bill for an act to provide for the prohibition and punishment for electronic fraud and crime in all electronic transactions in Nigeria.
Section 13 subsection 3 of the bill proposes that: “Anyone who intentionally propagates false information that could threaten the security of the country or that is capable of inciting the general public against the government through electronic message shall be guilty of an offense and upon conviction shall be sentenced to seven years imprisonment or N5 million (fine).”
Declaring open the public hearing Senate President David Mark who was represented by the deputy minority whip, Senator Abu Ibrahim (APC, Katsina), said electronic fraudsters pose great danger to the country which must be tackled to attract foreign investment.
The committee chairman Senator Umaru Dahiru (PDP, Sokoto) said electronic fraud was posing serious threat to world economies and Nigeria being a developing economy should enact appropriate laws to deal with the challenges.

PDP Gubernatorial candidate, Tony Nwoye calls Party spokesman, Metuh a saboteur

By Features Editor on November 21, 2013

PDP governorship candidate in last Saturday’s election in Anambra state, Tony Nwoye has called the national publicity secretary of the party, Olisa Metuh a liar and a paid agent of APGA. The outburst is coming on the heels of a statement by Metuh describing the disputed election as free and fair.

A statement signed by top officials of Nwoye’s campaign organisation in reaction to the PDP’s spokesman reads: “It is a common knowledge that the Anambra State Guber election that held across the state on the 16th of November, 2013 was marred with illegularities. There has been widespread condemnation of the exercise by members of the Civil Society Group, Anambrarians, Conference of Nigerian Political parties, election Observers and Monitors. Even Prof Jega of INEC went on air to apologise to Anambrarians on the poor conduct of the election
“In spite of these flaws and more witnessed during the exercise, Mr Olisa Metuh, the National Publicity Secretary of PDP and a latter day APGA apologist went on air to announce that the election went free and fair

“In a show of shame and in a disgraceful crescendo of delusional act and to please his contractors (APGA and Mr Peter Obi),Olisa Metuh made his statement giving credibility to an election in which his Candidate and all his family members including some of his cousins were disenfranchisedand prevented from voting. An Election in which two leaders of the party Chief Arthur Eze and Chief Mrs Josephine Anenieh could not find their names in the ballot paper, an election in which INEC organised a voting process on a Sunday morning when people were already in the church and could not vote. This is the same election that Mr Metuh ascribed to be free and fair…WHAT A SHAME

“Mr Olisa, Metuh, we put it to you that you don’t know your Job as a National Publicity Secretary. You don’t also know your boundaries and limitations. Who asked you to speak on behalf of Tony Nwoye Campaign Organisation? The last time we checked, Hon Chike Anyaonu was the Director of Media and Publicity of Tony Nwoye campaign organisation. What prevented you from contacting him before going on air? What prevented you from contacting your Governorship Candidate Comrade Tony Nwoye before making your shameful statements?

“Mr Olisa Metuh,we put it to you that you were not in Anambra and did not vote on the 16th of November and hence has no moral justification to comment on the outcome of an election you did not participate
“Mr Olisa Metuh, we put it to you that you sabotaged PDP on the 16th of November, 2013 during the election, directing your family members to vote for APGA. That explains why PDP could not win in your ward at Otolo Nnewi. Instead of burying your head in shame that a National Publicity Secretary of the Party lost in his ward, you were busy in the media talking nonsense

“Mr Olisa Metuh we put it to you that your press conference after the election was a script already written for you by APGA. We already got information that you and your estranged sponsor Nicholas Ukachukwu worked for APGA on selfish ends

“Mr Olisa Metuh we put it to you that you never supported us in this election. When we came to your home town Nnewi during the Campaign, you disappeared at St Andrews DCC without a trace. It is a shame that while other political parties like the APC,LABOUR PARTY,CNPP etc were calling for a total cancellation of the election, you were busy singing a different song. Who are you really working for?.Which party do you actually belong to,PDP or APGA?

“Mr Olisa Metuh,we put it to you that you are a serious candidate for suspension from the PDP with explanations to the NWC and Tony Nwoye Campaign organisation why discplinary actions should not be taken against you.

“Mr Olisa `Metuh we put it to you that you should watch your next press conference on the outcome of Anambra Guber election carefully. It might as well be your last as National Publicity Secretary of the `PDP.IF YOU DONT KNOW WHAT TO SAY,PLEASE KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT!!!

“Mr Olisa Metuh, please stop spreading white lies and false reports about your candidate and the Guber election. We don’t want you reporting for us. Tony Nwoye Campaign organisations has a Media directorate that reports to the media and please save us further embarrassment.”

It's very clear where the ordinary igbo people belong. We believe in progress, peace, equity and fairness. Ngige has the support of 90% of anambrarians. The riggers be it presidency or apga are about to face the wrath of the people. The Internet goons who for their selfish interest portray us (igbos) as being against other Nigerians have been put to shame by ordinary people. Why didn't they go ahead and announce cooked results. To shock the PDP more, some other governors will decamp to APC apart from the G7.

Rubbish, this Isreali security arrangement has been in Rivers state since 2007 when Amaechi came in. They were the ones that drew the road map for security of rivers state after the era of insecurity and both the jtf with police were fully involved in everything they were doing. They trained a special department of Rivers state police command too. Since starting the war on Amaechi, the Fg has tried to create insecurity in Rivers but has always failed due to the security structure created by the isrealis. It really amazes me what GEJ, PEJ and their agents would profit with insecurity in Rivers state.

Before Wike can be seperated from the the federal government, the honorable position he holds is supposed to be relinquished. For now he represents the FG unless proven otherwise.

Wike, others threaten to destroy Rivers-
owned banana plantation
Author(s): Tony Tamuno
Politicians opposed to the Rivers State
Governor, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi have
threatened to launch a destructive attack on
the state government-owned banana
plantation in Tai local government area. The
politicians issued the threat at the ward and
council inauguration of members of Grassroot
Development Initiative in Tai Local government
area of the state.
Supervising Minister of Education, Nyesom
Wike had mocked the state’s agricultural
project calling on the people of Ogoni to rejects
such projects.
According to him, “There is nothing called new
PDP. They have been defeated in court. They
have been defeated in INEC. Nobody will
challenge Mr. President. For all those
intimidation, be rest assured, you will get all the
necessary protection within the ambit of the
Law. Nobody will intimidate you.
“You must know people who mean well for you.
You all have to know that the Ogonis are not
monkeys. When I hear people say they are from
Ogoni, the only industry they have for you is a
banana industry. Holy Ghost Fire for all the
people, for all those that conspired that there is
nothing that is good for the Ogoni people
except to make them have bananas. Ogoni
people have paid their dues. They are not
meant to be eating bananas,” he said.
Also, former Senator representing Rivers
senatorial district, Lee Maeba said he would
personally take the lead to ravage the
plantation.
“We are not monkeys and we are not growing
bananas at all. They have been talking on the
radio that they uncovered a plot. There is no
need to uncover anything, I said I will lead a
well-meaning protest of all the Ogonis and by
the time we return there will be no more
bananas,” he threatened.
Maeba also alleged that the banana plantation
is one of the factors undermining the
implementation of the United Nations
Environmental Programme, UNEP report: “I said
it in Bori that after listening to the cries of the
Ogonis they agreed that the soil of Ogoni is
contaminated and there must be clean-up and
compensation. When the compensation team
arrived from New York, Pharo led a group of
agriculturists and went to establish banana
farm and told them that the soil is good that
they should not pay compensation; they should
not clean up the land.
“But with those bananas they are using to
deceive our people, to deceive the United
Nations, to deceive the Federal government
that the soil is clean. We shall clean up the
bananas and clean up the soil.”
In a related development, a Former Deputy
Speaker of the Federal House of
Representatives, Chibudum Nwuche has said
Governor Amaechi will be made to account for
all the allocations he has received.
Nwuche said this at the GDI event held in Tai
Local Government area.
He also accused Governor Amaechi of playing
politics with funds accrued to the state. “What
pains me most is that somebody we freely gave
a mandate to and placed in Government House
has forsaken the state and gone on
adventures.
“He has bought a plane. He will carry
journalists and they will go to a place called
Songhai Farms, they will go to one medical
centre, they will go to one school. They go to
one school all the time as if we have no
schools before.
“How can you spend over N3 trillion only on
schools and medical centres. I challenge our
Governor to a debate. He should come out and
account to the people what he has been doing
with our money for the past 6 years,” he said.
Nwuche, who is also the immediate past acting
National Deputy Chairman of the Peoples
Democratic Party, tasked the people of the
state to support President Goodluck Jonathan
in the 2015 general election.
Among other politicians who spoke at the event
were Felix Obuah, Abiye Sekibo, Sergeant
Awuse, Kennth Kobani.
The banana plantation is one of the major
agricultural projects of the Rivers state
government which is jointly owned by Union De
Initiative SA de CV of Mexico and has cost a
speculated sum of N 10 billion.
