God will liberate Abia from the shackles of slavery. The only constant thing in life is change. I pray Abia will embrace the APC for a change.

FKO81:
This is fake news, APC are dishing out fake news every single day to Igbos to change their minds towards GEJ, Gov Willie will be the last person on earth that will discredit GEJ administration. Try and check Anambra thread later today to see federal government presence in Anambra and Gov Obiano's endorsement billboard for GEJ, I will post the pictures later today.
Please show us what GEJ has done in your state QED. The man is a grand failure and exploits clannish politics as strategy, I don't know for Obiano and Anambra but GEJ has done nothing in areas which I operate in the east which are Abia, Rivers, Imo, AkwaIbom and Cross River states.
PoliticsRe: GEJ Is a Failure- Willie Obiano by cooltone: 6:38am On Dec 08, 2014
Since I was a kid a journey from Eleme junction, Portharcourt to Aba takes a maximum time of 45 minutes even with numerous police checks. But today under Jonathan's administration it takes a minimum of 4 hours of gnashing of teeth to get to Alaoji from Eleme junction. The worst hit is the Obigbo part. Then going from Aba to Ikot Ekpene is no longer a possibility. Before Jonathan it was a possible venture. So what has Jonathan really done for us Igbos. Nothing and absolutely Nothing.

Why is this thread not on front page. A lot of important points that needs to be discussed adequately by a vast majority of nairalanders (Nigerians) are raised here. The mods should do the needful and move this topic to the front page.
PoliticsRe: It's time to Boycott Sahara Reporters by cooltone: 11:08am On Nov 16, 2014
OP please make out time and visit Saharareporters twitter handle and see who are their primary followers before coming here to spew rubbish. Most of the people you think you are defending by posting are there chief followers from abati to okukpe and even madam diezani or auntie Ngo are there. They know where to get the undiluted truth and it's no other place than sahareporters. GEJ that you are licking his butt is a huge beneficiary of the same sahareporters. They were at the for front of fighting the cabal that never wanted Jonathan to take over at the ill health of late president Yardua and so on. Yardua was so embarrassed at how they give Nigerians the true info that he had to arrange for the villa staff to swear oath of secrecy to avoid sahareporters informing Nigerians. Sowore deserves a national award. QED

You are a slow/poke! What is NDDC and what is Federal government?
We are waiting for GEJ to come and commission one those NDDC projects listed by the OP as the project done by GEJ led FG. Am sure there won't be any and if there is any the president would be ashamed to commission such as his project in Rivers state.
PoliticsRe: Federal Government Projects In Rivers State List And Locations by cooltone: 8:26am On Oct 27, 2014
We in Rivers state can categorically state that there is no single visible project initiated or executed by the federal government under Goodluck Ebele Jonathan. Most of the NDDC projects listed by the OP exist only on paper and are avenues that the corrupt leadership of GEJ and his cronies use to enrich themselves. This is the black and white truth.
PoliticsRe: Few Pics From Imo State by cooltone: 8:45am On Oct 22, 2014
Here is a statue of Obama the present USA President that was even stolen and later found with US tax payers money. And mind you there are several of them scattered all over the US and worldwide. So I keep wondering why Obama did not come to Ikengawo's mind on his attack on Rochas.

PoliticsRe: Few Pics From Imo State by cooltone: 8:21am On Oct 22, 2014
Ikengawo:
Please stop being partisan and be rational. I was beginning to hold you in higher esteem until I saw your pathetic stunt in the Enugu thread and now this.
I'm going to say it again. It's barbaric and undemocratic to make a statue celebrate your own electoral victory. No matter the circumstances around it. I know most Nigerians aren't used to democratic thinking and thus it doesn't work well in our country but it's very despotic and outrageous to do this. If the people build one of you, that's fine, but if you build one in the glory of your own electoral victory it's not. You can like Rochas without pretending everything he does is just and right.
Again, if Obama, the first black president if a country built on slavery, made a statue to himself he would be impeached and the people would be outraged by such a despotic action. Why? because If you look at the people in the world today and recent history that have made statues to themselves
Mummar Ghaddaffi
Kim Jung Il and Kin Jung Un
Saddam Hussien
Joseph Stalin
Mao Tse Tsung
Vladmir Lenin
Rochas Okorocha
You will notice a pattern. Regardless of the circumstance of his election, it's a hideously barbaric and despotic act. I don't know why our people must be so crude and tactless in their bombast.
I wonder who this Ikengawo is and what is his problem with an art work. Art works are symbolic and has been there for ages. Trying to sync or compare works of art with dictators to damage Okorocha's person is the greatest fallacy am reading this morning. My fellow nairalander Ikengawo if you are against Rochas politically please look for valid political points and leave blackmail because it won't lead you anywhere. It is only the foolish ones that may buy this idea. For the bill boards it's a universal thing during election era being a serious campaign strategy that does not violate the rules of the electoral body.

The retarded fellow that opened this topic has forgotten the GEJ he is sympathising with or that is been scammed acknowledged the kidnap and even invited the parents of the girls sharing money for them in Aso villa. This goes a long way to show the stupidity of the government that is supposedly blackmailed. God will continue to bless Oby ezekwesili for leading the cries of the poor irrespective that the people involved are not her tribesmen or women.

With all the allocation to that state why can't the governor fix the road and get his money later?? Instead he is wasting money sum raiil tracks that won't be completed until perhaps 2030.
This road would not be like this if the FG allowed Amaechi to do what you suggested but the FG threatened fire and brimstone when the governor mentioned such. In fact that was the ge. nesis of the public confrontation of GEJ and Amaechi. People then accused Amaechi of insulting the president and may be you are one of them.
PoliticsPtd Nupeng Strike Why Is Fg Silent by cooltone(op): 8:18am On Oct 10, 2014
It either the government is asleep or they don't exist as the nonchalant attitude is been exhibited towards the ongoing strike action embarked upon by the petroleum tanker drivers of NUPENG. Activities in Rivers state is almost at a halt and the FG is silent. According to tanker drivers they embarked on the strike to pressure the authorities to fix deplorable roads that leads to the oil and gas zone of Portharcourt. The road which is a part of the East west road is a confirmed death trap. A lot of tankers and container truck fall daily basis on the road killing innocent Nigerians. One wonders why the FG will leave such an important road to be dilapidated to that level despite being the base of our oil industry. Going back to the strike, we citizens of Portharcourt are suffering and wish to appeal to the tanker drivers to go back to work find way to reach ASO rock to register their problems which is also our problem.
PoliticsIs Chino The Igbo Version Of Musiwa by cooltone(op): 10:24am On Oct 06, 2014
Am an Igbo man from Imo state and regular visitor to the politics section of Nairaland. I have observed posts by Becomrich aka Musiwa and his pattern of post and replies with different monikers obviously arguing, replying up to long pages. I have also observed Chino and he does exactly the same thing. Earlier I used to even argue or comment on his post and sometimes attack my fellow easterners all because of Chino. Please I want the mods to create a psychiatric section to help heal these fellows and as well shift all there thread to that section. My humble suggestion, no insults intended.

God bless the OP. We have been so oppressed by the so called PDP. I wonder why they want to continue in 2015. They should please have mercy on Nigerian masses. PDP has destroyed our great nation. Basic infrastructure -0

Rochas is God sent and God is doing a wonderful job for Imolites through him. The campaign of calumny by pro GEJ and PDP groups to paint good bad is very disappointing. Nigeria is a failed country under this present federal administration who base on propaganda to deceive people.

Because he always wants undue attention to his projects which are often sub par,he ended blocking the major thoroughfare in Owerri and exposing the poor road network of the town.
I smell hate and nothing else. Rochas shaming PDP since 2011.

FG sacks 16,000 resident doctors

President, NMA, Dr. Kayode Obembe

THE Federal Government on Wednesday sacked all resident doctors in the country.

In a press release by the Deputy Director of Press, Federal Ministry of Health, Alhaji Isiaka Yusuf, the Federal Government said it had to do so after exploring all avenues to end the strike, which it said had compounded the health crisis in the country.

It would be recalled that the Nigeria Medical Association had directed its members natiuonwide to go on strike on July 1. The National Association of Resident Doctors, an affiliate of the NMA, has put its numerical strentgh at about 16,000.

“The situation has been compounded by the recent importation of the Ebola Virus Disease into Nigeria on July 20, 2014. Following the Presidential declaration of a National Public Health Emergency on Ebola Disease, which has united the entire country in the efforts to contain the disease, it is quite regrettable that the people who should take leadership role in the fight against the Ebola disease are now the most unsupportive,’” the statement said.

The resident doctors were unceremoniously relieved of their jobs after the Minister of Health, Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu, on Wednesday, issued a directive terminating the residency training programme for doctors in the country until further notice.

The PUNCH learnt that the development, however, was without prejudice to the employment of locum doctors on six months renewable contract tied to excellent performance.

In a circular by the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Health, Mr. L.N. Awute, to all Chief Medical Directors and medical directors in public hospitals across the country, said the development was “for the purposes of appraising the challenges in the health sector’.

“The honourable minister has directed that you issue letters of termination of Residency Training appointment to the affected Resident Doctors in your hospital immediately,’’ Awute said.

In another copy attached to the letter, the ministry also directed the CMDs to pay “salaries and allowances for one month in lieu of notice.”

“You are required to surrender all hospital property in your possession, including any staff identity card,” the statement added in the instruction to the doctors affected by the development.

The National Association of Resident Doctors, has however, described the directive as unfortunate.

In a telephone interview with our correspondent, the NARD president, Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Dr. Moroof Abdulsalam said the development would be resisted. Abdulsalam who said he was not sure of the exact number of doctors affected, however disclosed that there are over 60 centres in Nigeria where residency training programmes are undertaken. According to him there are about 200 resident doctors in each of the centre.

“It came as a shock to us. As we speak, the national officers of the Nigeria Medical Association and the NARD are meeting. We are waiting for further directive. We have told our members to remain calm in the face of this provocation. We all know that resident doctors are the engine rooms of the health sector especially in this country where we have a shortage of specialists. That anyone would even moot the idea is unimaginable. The Lagos State Government did it two years ago and we all know what happened. We will resist this,”

I thought this thread was about Chris Anyanwu, why are some haters of imo state always around to exhibit there stupidity. Thanks to abagworo for showing them how stupid they are. These folks eat and drink in filth but won't come to terms on how to take care of themselves and stop this pull him down syndrome or we are better than you mentality they always exhibit all over the place. Chino one advice I have for you is to leave Imo matters because you end up making a fool of yourself with your arguments thus giving anambrarians and igbos a bad image. To kill Rochas you people are exposing us (Igbos) to unnecessary ridicule. In terms of leadership, I know Okorocha has not erred. His only offence I now understand is that he joined APC against the interest of GEJ and there is nowhere it is an offence to be in the opposition in Nigerian constitution.

PDP deceiving Nigerians since 1999. You people can never deceive Imolites again, OP and other PDP sympathizers please help us tell Jonathan to do and commission projects in Imo state. We are tired of the gang up by the expired politicians against the best governor in Nigeria. For anybody to convince us to vote PDP in Imo state, they should show us what we have benefited from GEJ's rule from 2011 till date and we will gladly follow.

Akwa Ibom earns ten times the allocation of imo state and generates more internal revenue and also has less work force. This stadium you posted is in the state capital of the richest state in Nigeria. If Imo were Akwa Ibom am very sure that even Ohakim would do better than what Akwa Ibom government is doing. So hold your propaganda against my state and my governor.

millionaireman: Abagworo are you not Liar Number One of Nairaland? What picture will crop up?

More than two years ago, your principal, Gov. Okorocha, damaged the Sam Okwaraji Stadium Orlu and laid a foundation for new one.
Below are the pix of new Orlu sports stadium which Okorocha govt started more than two years ago.
Within that period, Okorocha govt had built two stadium-like arena in Owerri.

Orlu youths ask that before Okorocha leaves office soon, he has to ensure that the old Sam Okwaraji stadium is returned as Okorocha met it when he came to office.

Let the College of Health Technology become a multi-discipline campus of IMSU. That's what Orlu NEEDS, not College of Health Technology.
Thanks Mr millionareman for showing the evidence that work is going on because you've been misleading a lot of people here that there was no replacement for the demolished Orlu stadium. From the picture you posted it's clear that you are on propaganda to discredit the works of imo state government. Every coin has two sides. I will like you to show us of the whole stadium been constructed not taking pictures from bad angles. Rochas I must confess is a magician because of what he has done with the little resources of imo state in a very short period of time.

The man is not a media governor or propaganda person like Akpabio, he just wants to write his name in gold. God will bless Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi. We need somebody like him to lead Nigeria, no offence to GEJ.

I only ended up with some fools who collected peanuts and throwing abuses on each other. The worst is that we are supposed to pay for the said bridge and nothing is going on.
