1. Trump campaign staffer complaining about Kayleigh McEnany's ban.
2. Twitter's public policy exec asking the comms team what's up
3. Comms confirming that she was banned because she talked about New York Post article. You know, the one that Twitter weren't even sure came from hacks.
saxywale2: And I was eagerly waiting for the files. Turned out to be a nothingburger.
Obrigardo: So Elno Wusk was just exposing Twitter content moderation shenanigans which even all politicians in washington both Democrats and rethugs know it's messy, even criminal trump can testify in his heydays. So the blockbuster that Elno was promising was just Team Biden asking Twitter to remove a dick pic of Hunter, because allowing it on the platform will be revenge porn , a crime. But just allowing Hunter Biden's naked pic to just make rounds on twitter because maga idiots just hate Biden and Democrats is unfair and disgraceful. I didn't agree to Melania's nude pics, and we all knew how they also tried to supress that then.
What a dud.
That's bullshxt and you know it. Twitter staff were literally scrambling for any justification to remove stories about the laptop leak. This was not about a dick pic and it's frankly a little embarrassing to see you trying to spin this as such.
Twitter threatened to and then banned the New York Post over articles talking about the laptop leak. No dick pics were published in these articles. Kayleigh McEnany, the fxcking White House press secretary was locked out of her twitter account for taking about this story. Not even DMs were spared from the Orwellian censorship campaign.
Kaycee7: I remember Cartoon Network and their censorship as well. But weebs were mostly watching subbed. So who'd this really ruin anime for? I mean, it basically says 4 KIDS. Might as well complain about the Japanese censored versions of ecchi shows.
Yeah but at the time, they were the only legal way of watching anime in the west. There has always been a push towards increased censorship from western localizers in anime. However, fansubbers will always be there for us.
Kaycee7: I'm not saying it's not valid to be worried. I just choose not to stress myself with things that I can't do much about. And the dude's post was a regurgitation of stuff I've already gotten tired of seeing on different platforms. So I said never mind me. Didn't know that would cause him to have a meltdown in my mentions.
The meltdown was completely uncalled for. Typical Naruto fan getting riled up on an online anime forum.
Kaycee7: So far Disney has handled the distribution of 2 anime shows I know of, Bleach and Summertime Render and that hasn't affected the quality of the viewing so far.
Only issue was with Summertime Render's release pattern, which is a similar issue Netflix and Amazon tend to have as well. And I completely understand if folks are worried about this.
At the end of the day, we mostly get our anime from pirate sites, so when Disney's influence starts to affect the quality of the anime on animepahe, then I'll worry. Until then, anyone who wants to lose sleep on the issue should, as I said before, carry on and never mind me.
Disney won't overplay its hand just yet. They'll first cut streaming deals with Japanese production companies. Once they corner the market, they can use their leverage to influence the industry. It would just depend on how much the anime industry cares about the western audience at that point.
Kaycee7: Oh! This old song. Carry on. Never mind me.
That is basically what Sony's american office did to Japanese games, though. That's why all the 'cultured' games moved to the Switch.
Remember 4kids entertainment and the censorship in their dubbing?
I think it is completely valid to be worried about these western companies spreading their tentacles into the anime industry. Did you see the hit piece that Vice News did on the manga industry a couple of weeks back
Obrigardo: You are really a fool for overlooking blatant antisemitic tropes
Everything is anti-Semitic to you guys. Toy called me anti-Semitic for calling Mark Zuckerberg "Mark Cuckerberg". You cynically use it as just another tool to avoid having an intelligent conversation.
Obrigardo: I feel kinda sad for many people who look up to this guy and thinks he's a genius. His fanboys who coincidentally crosses junctions with qanon and evil maga.
This alone should end elon musk if we ever lived in a sane world. Using anti-Semitic tropes so brazenly and openly, as head of Twitter. Wow!!!
Here we go. The fact that once someone muses that authorities may be working in the interest of the elites your brain automatically defaults to "da Jews" exposes where your head is.
