It's a Netflix South Korean animation/anime
Basically about a student who is fat and ugly and as a result gets bullied. Until he discovers he can swap bodies by sleeping. He swaps with his second body a young handsome dude

Anyway the major focus of the show is to criticize the south Korean showbiz/entertainment culture whereby people are judged firstly based on looks. Those who are ugly are bullied, and are looked down upon.

We've all heard stories on how most South Korean celebrities have to do plastic surgery to make it in the entertainment industry


Also, since it's a south Korean show, it uses a lot of Korean troupes like girls gushing at fine guys and all that

So this isn't a review or anything but I recently just finished binge-reading Oshi no Ko. It's written by Aka Akasaka (of Kaguya: Love is War) and drawn by Mango Yokoyara (Scum's Wish).

It basically follows the drama that goes on the background of the Japanese celebrity and idol scene. Now, I've always been aware of the toxicity of Japanese fandoms to some extent but for those who aren't, this is a good place to start.

I won't go into much detail but this is some good stuff. If you haven't read it and are looking for something to read, consider checking this one out.

In all honesty, everytime I saw an Oshi no Ko visual, all I appreciated was the quality of the art. I assumed it would be some idol show and I didn't really think I'd have the time for one, that wasn't Zombieland Saga, next year. Then I stumbled on the information that it was written by Aka Akasaka of Kaguya-sama: Love is War fame and my attention was instantly grabbed.
I don't really need to explain to any sincere Kaguya enjoyer but, for any who may not know, Akasaka wrote up a slew of interesting and entertaining characters in Love is War with some of the most hilarious character interactions while also handling the mood switches to the more emotional moments of the story expertly. Man has some mad talent in character writing and that has me excited to see what he's done in Oshi no Ko.

Synopsis from MAL
Sixteen-year-old Ai Hoshino is a talented and beautiful idol who is adored by her fans. She is the personification of a pure, young maiden. But all that glitters is not gold.

Gorou Amemiya is a countryside gynecologist and a big fan of Ai. So when the pregnant idol shows up at his hospital, he is beyond bewildered. Gorou promises her a safe delivery. Little does he know, an encounter with a mysterious figure would result in his untimely death—or so he thought.

Opening his eyes in the lap of his beloved idol, Gorou finds that he has been reborn as Aquamarine Hoshino—Ai's newborn son! With his world turned upside down, Gorou soon learns that the world of showbiz is paved with thorns, where talent does not always beget success. Will he manage to protect Ai's smile that he loves so much with the help of an eccentric and unexpected ally?

I'm not even going to front like the synopsis itself gripped me. I'm just really interested in seeing what Akasaka does with this premise.

It moves wild sometimes and it seems to be currently wildling in the TV/Movies section. I've seen multiple bans on the Movie and Series threads.
I understand that fear. Ever since I got banned for posting my usual weekend watch list, I now post that with my alt.

An arc dedicated to her backstory, her origins and even her epic battles

I feel we didn't get enough of her. Tite Kubo dedicating her personality to just being a healer for much or the bleach series was unfair to such a strong character
