It is believed that dozens of members of the Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign States of Biafran (Massob) were arrested after the inspector general of police, Solomon E Arase, released a statement urging authorities to clamp down on people who behaved violently across the country. The statement read: "This directive becomes imperative owing to recent activities of members of the Massob and the Indigenous People of Biafra [Ipob] in some parts of the country." The number of people arrested, originally thought to be around 200, was confirmed by the police to stand at 22. Four people were arrested in Anambra State, six in Imo, one in Abia and 11 in Delta State. They were all Massob members. Amnesty said that after speaking with "dozens of Biafran activists" in the last few years, they believe that pro-Biafrans are targeted by police. A spokesperson for the group said: "There is credible evidence that they have been arbitrarily arrested, tortured and jailed in the past. They are still targeted by the police." The spokesperson added that according to one of the group's researchers, there are "at least two dozen Biafran activists in almost every prison in the south east of Nigeria". When contacted by IBTimes UK, Oleehkukyu Ali, spokesperson for the police in Anambra – one of the states where the Biafran activism is mostly widespread – said:" Recently, in this and other states in the country there has been a kind of excitement from members of pro-Biafran groups, and this excitement has led to their processions to become chaotic. How I wish the ND will read deep meaning to this kind of statements and also know this northerners have no regard for them in this sham called nigeria. They are planing to heavily ridicule goodluck very soon .the only person the SS has prodived as president to damage his reputation. They did so with Alams,Ibori and now GEJ. Again we refuse to learn this old trick as we keep dividing ourselves based on personal sentiments. They are more bad eggs among the yoruba folks and hausa put together. I This guys be counting on the bold differences and artificial division they created between the ND and SE as their winning strategy. How I wish the SS will learn to get together and plot to form a common front line with the SE and conquer this raging monster from the NORTH.. Biafra to me should be the rallying point btw SS nd SE. Which of the two do we think is the best for the Country at this stage. Shekau dead or Ousted . If shekau is dead then do we believe he may have been killed in gun battles . Having heard different times of his death in the past 3 years and yet he has appeared in recent videos especially the most watched version with the chibok girls . Today we have just been told by the Boko Haram Group that Shekau has been ousted . Do you think the taking over by the new leader will go down well with Abubakar Shekau himself ? This is because him having brought the group to world stage instead of honouring him by allowing him come out and speak with the Fed Gov doing what he has been known to do best . is now been relegated to the back . Is he is been stabbed in the back by people whom he trusted in the group? or was it just a palace coup that has ousted him and relegated him to the background. So where now is Abubakar Shekau ? At least the group should at least show us a Picture or video of the ousting ceremony where he handed over to the new leader at least we have seen different pics or video of where we were told he was killed . And he resurfaced . Do you think shekau will resurface again from relegation? Is there any Correlation Btw Adams Oshiomole Visit to Soyinka last week and the new twist in tongue and speeches of SOYINKA saying Buhari is now a born again and NEW Person !!!! I have also been observing the nigerian politics as it has been playing out for sometime now. There's this new trend I've noticed on how this government operates. When they want to whip up sentiments or channel traffic towards their propaganda . Once you see a politician displays deep loyalty and visit to one top personality like that then you should something is in the offing in the next few days . It usually turns out to be one VISIT and at the next instant the same personality now comes out to show deep SOLIDARITY and whip up show of support for the person or draw cheap publicity to the rate the popularity of that person and what is set to be achieved by such mindless visits .This is the new trend now . Like maybe Saraki visit to OBJ and OBJ say Saraki is a good son i whom he is well pleased or it happens like Gov Oshiomole visits to Soyinka, Osho Baba visited Soyinka just last week NOW THIS WEEK .
