The Bishops Diocesan College in Cape Town, South Africa that charges about $16,000 per year has launched an investigation into allegations that one of its teachers had a sexual relationship with a student.

Despite the school reportedly appointing an attorney to probe the matter, there is no criminal investigation underway as her alleged lover was 18 years old and not underage. According to the South African outlet Times Live, it is 30-year-old sports coach Fiona Viotti who left the school with immediate effect over the scandal.
Another South African outlet Weekend Argus reports that the matter came to light when the student in question turned to his parents, who later informed the headmaster, for help after the woman had refused to end their affair. According to its source, she even sent her young lover threatening messages via WhatsApp. Reports also alleged that she sent nude images and videos of her masturbating to students.

Her attorney William Booth has told the outlet that if some pupils had such materials, the question was “how you came (to be) in possession of the video or anybody got in possession of the video”. He also refuted claims that the former teacher has left the country amid these misconduct allegations.

Viotti, who was a water polo star when a teenager and even featured on Sports Illustrated as one of the “Beauties of Sport” ten years ago comes from a respected family of educators. Her father Dave Mallett is a history teacher and rugby team coach while her uncle Nick Mallett led the South Africa national rugby team, nicknamed the Springboks, in the 1990s. The ex-teacher, who reportedly married her long-time boyfriend last year, is said to have deleted her social media accounts. Neither the Viottis nor the boy’s parents have commented on the issue yet.

The federal Government has announced a total ban on the import and export of goods at the land borders nationwide in the ongoing joint border operation, tagged: “Exercise Swift Response”. The Daily Trust reports that the operation began on August 20, 2019, involving Customs and immigration with support from Army and other security agencies.

The joint border security is being coordinated by the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) and covers the four geopolitical zones, including South-south, Southwest, North-central and the North-west. Briefing newsmen in Abuja on Monday, the Comptroller General of Customs (CGC), Col. Hameed Ali (Rtd) said: “The issue of movement of goods is not the same thing with movement of persons. “Let’s understand that all perishable items are on prohibition whether on export or import. Therefore, nobody can carry tomato to the border to import or export. So it makes it easier for us to close and ensure that all goods for now are banned from being exported or imported through our land borders. “That is to ensure that we have total control over what comes in and what we do. We are strategizing on how best the goods can be handled when we get to when this operation will relax,” he noted. Ali however, advised local dealers, who want to export or to import items, to use the seaports is the only access at present.

On when the operations, which is nearly two months will end, Ali said, “It is as long as it will take our neighbours to come to the table and agree to execute exactly what was agreed upon during former Olusegun Obasanjo’s time which is simple adherence to ECOWAS transit procedure. That has not happened.” In a response on how the operation is impinging on the fundamental rights of persons to movement, the Customs boss said, “When it comes to security, all other laws take a backseat. Nigeria must survive first then we can begin to consider your rights.”

When is Buhari going to ban the import/export of cows through our borders?

An Iranian court has sentenced President Rouhani’s brother Hossein Fereydoun to five years in prison, Fars News Agency reported.

The agency quoted Iran’s Judiciary Spokesman Gholamhossein Esmaili as saying that Fereydoun may face further charges in another case. However, he did not provide any further details about the case.

In May, Fereydoun was handed an unspecified jail sentence over corruption. The trial of Fereydoun began earlier in February this year. He was previously detained in 2017, but was subsequently released on bail.



Earlier, Iran’s Judiciary Spokesman Gholamhossein Esmaili said that Iranian court had sentenced a former Defence Ministry’s official to death in charge of spying for the United States.

According to the spokesperson, three other individuals were sentenced to 10 years in jail on the same charges. Two of them are accused of spying for the United States while one of them faces jail for spying for the United Kingdom.

According to Mirzan news agency, the death sentence was appealed in the Supreme Court.

In Iran, a variety of offences can result in the death penalty, including espionage and treason.

An investigating team in India’s Madhya Pradesh have arrested five women and their driver in an extortion racket run to blackmail powerful bureaucrats and politicians from both the ruling Congress Party and the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

The accused have admitted using several Bollywood actresses, sex workers, and women as young as 18-years-old to seduce people in power and take videos of them in compromising positions.

As many as 4,000 digital files have been found so far, containing over 1,000 sex chats, video clips and audio recordings of people caught in compromising positions.

The all-woman squad blackmailed powerful politicians and bureaucrats in order to extort large sums of money. They also acted as intermediaries for businessmen to get government contracts, thereby gaining large commissions.

One of the top officials of the investigating team has mentioned that the accused were using spy cameras installed in items like lipsticks and goggles to secretly film the victims as they took part in sex acts.

The Paris Court of Appeal has ruled that a man’s death during sex on a business trip was a workplace accident and said that his family is entitled to be compensated, the APZNEWS reports. The suit goes back to 2013, when Xavier X, who is referred to as an engineer by the British broadcaster or as a safety technician by Euronews, died from cardiac arrest in a hotel room, where he had sex with a stranger. As the tragic event happened while the man was on a business trip, the national social security provider insisted that the man’s employer, railway company TSO, based near Paris, was liable.

TSO protested the decision, insisting that everything happened after working hours and not even in the room, booked for the poor man. It branded his unfortunate date “an extramarital relationship with a complete stranger”, even though the court did not state the deceased’s marital status, and argued that he had “knowingly interrupted his business trip for a reason dictated by personal interest, independent of his employment”, According to the company, his death could not be attributed to work.

The French court, however, ruled otherwise. A court spokesman referred to the French social security code, stipulating that “a work accident is an accident that occurs in the course of work”.

A North Carolina woman was charged Tuesday with tying up her husband and severing his penis.

Carteret County sheriff's deputies responded to the Newport home of Victoria Thomas Frabutt and her 61-year-old husband, James Frabutt, around 4 a.m. James Frabutt told officers his wife cut him after tying him up, the sheriff's office said in a statement.

Deputies recovered the penis, put it on ice and handed it over to medical personnel.
James Frabutt was taken to a hospital. His condition was unknown.
The motive is unclear. Frabutt, 56, is charged with malicious castration and kidnapping of her spouse. She is being held in the Carteret County jail on $100,000 bond and is expected to appear in court Wednesday.

Dehghan further reportedly noted that Iran is not going to negotiate its missile programme with anyone, including US President Donald Trump.

The adviser also reportedly blasted the UAE for allegedly becoming a “US centre to strike Iran’s national security”, but added that the country has already sent a delegation to Iran to discuss “peace”.

Al Jazeera also quoted the adviser as cautioning other countries against changing the status of the Strait of Hormuz, saying that it would open up the path to dangerous confrontations. He namely brought up the UK’s initiative to form a European “maritime protection mission” as an example of a move that could lead to “unpredictable consequences”.

Dehghan reportedly argued that all countries must have the ability to safely sail and export oil through the Strait of Hormuz, which of late has become a flashpoint of tensions between Iran on the one side and the UK and US on the other.
The negative trend in US-Iranian relations started last year, but they aggravated further after Iranian air defences shot down an American drone after, as Tehran says, it violated the country’s border. The US planned a retaliatory strike in response but stopped short of launching it.
