FranklinRich:Yes quite a positive for banks though more so for some than others. If the TSA and CRR reduction was nothing short of currency exchange, then I think it is pertinent to note what banks had relatively high FG dollar deposits and also those that had relatively small exposure to public deposits ![]() |
Princkez:Buying @ 20 was my initial target but i ended up buying @ 22+ last week but sold it today. i was simply speculating on price movements when i bought. Things might turn around for the company or some good news in the future...but as for now i am unaware of any good news even the rights offer @ 27.50 has not impressed investors and shareholdrs alike |
The low volume witnessed today was probably a premonitory sentiment or market just patiently waiting to hear from cbn... |
As the NSE "deepens" will it affect majority of stocks? http://allafrica.com/stories/201509211616.html Nigeria: Preparing Ground for Key Listings On Nigerian Bourse Oil and Gas Telecommunications Aviation “Efforts by the leadership of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) to further deepen the capital market appears to be yielding positive results as Nigerian's telecommunication giant, MTN Nigeria, Arik Air, and the foremost energy group, Sahara Group” |
fajuyi59: ![]() Fugazi!!! Movie was hilarious! I think it was actually the fat funny one that made that quote, the one that talks like adam sandler... i am looking to reinforce my reasons for holding the stock any longer. ![]() |
Elai147: Nigerian Stocks and their All Time High... Really interesting to note that apart from GTbank the only other stocks (trading before 2008) that outperformed the index (06/02/2015) were all in consumer goods... In other words, the negative impact to your portfolio now had you not sold from say 2007 till date (06/02/2015) would have been relatively minimal if you had only such stocks as NESTLE and INTBREW but what is more interesting to note is if you had in your portfolio only NSEASI you would have done far much better compared to having only FBNH in your portfolio!!! It also shows that the NSEASI was simply buoyed by the fresh listing of companies. ![]() Conclusively without being assertive, if the NSEASI were to reach its 2008 peak of 66,371 (according to Elia147's table) it would not carry along other 'failed stocks' with it to reach their old prices (that is towards overall recovery) it simply would do so (that is progress) on the back of CONSUMER GOODS and mainly new listings i.e. TELECOMS and DEPOSITARY RECEIPTS. ![]() *top performers like Dangcem are noted |
fajuyi59:You think it will be headed up this week bah? ![]() |
MPC. ![]() While some anticipate CRR decrease, we must take into consideration CBN's tight monetary policy. Is the TSA only to drive transparency and fight corruption, might currency depreciation not be the fundamental issue underlying this move by the CBN? A 20% CRR?? Let's wait and see... ...but our concern should be the impact on the stock market if the reduction is below expectation. I guess we already know the answer. ![]() |
fajuyi59:The question is can the price rise be sustained, looks like it’s beginning to waver ![]() |
mercylicious:Yes it also caught my attention, checked online didn’t see anything new only august news about the resounding profit for 2nd quarter. Contemplated buying today but low volume… ![]() ...do u consider entering on Monday?? Also what is your take on UACN?? |
Ronkuns:Don't forget NESTLE |
hbrednic:http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/conoil-encounters-320-feet-hydrocarbon-sands-in-opl-290/220244/ "The discovery, it was learnt, was similar to the experience of the French oil major, Total in its discovery of the Amenam during a drilling campaign in 1990" |
bigjay01:Not impossible, but with what is starting to unfold in syria (middle east) you know with the US and it's allies last minute intervention "airstrikes against ISIS targets" and Russia's sudden military buildup; in a couple of months we might see the crisis escalate and won't this cause a sharp increase in oil price |
PETERiCHY:It's meant to predict the "week of laughter" before the week actually occurs! ![]() Time to buy another Octopus... this time shop around the seas of Alaska and not the persian gulf coast ![]() |
fajuyi59:... I had bought it last week wednesday @ N120 |
Manonamission:Yeah i checked it out on NSE; it is definitely forming a rectangle can't tell yet if it's a turning point for a reversal or simply a continuation. A breakout should tell us what pattern is forming... Thanks for pointing this out! ![]() |
Currently looks like the following oil stocks will shoot to the roof when list comes out?! Total Seplat OandO Conoil |
Justcul:Wow looking at what is happening today, good move you!! |
myjoy08:Yeah and rumor has it that Adenuga's right hand man Dr Omatsola is set to be petroleum minister ![]() |
Justcul:'Risking' you mean cause you couldn't have risked. Unity hasn't sold for N1.31 today... ![]() |
angelo82:Hahaha ![]() but in the true sense of the word 'investor', there isn't anyone here that is one. |
holm:Banks will continue to decline while Industrial and consumer goods upwards |
nio68:The intent is only to initiate increase in quality of discussion but I guess we are all free to do as we please |
myjoy08:You should give a synopsis instead of just retyping the headline itself! Makes one wonder if you actually read what you are pasting for the rest of us to read!! ![]() |
angelo82:....banks with high investments in bonds? ![]() |
Ronkuns:Any news on UAC-PROP too? Already gained 4% today and with a 700,000 bid and only 78,000 on offer |
SWG1:Actually it's quite easy predicting a Bear anybody off the street can do that. The demigod tag should only be given to him after two or more successful predictions of Bulls. He said November... we'll wait and see... |
cornwall:Anyone has a list of stockbrokers out there who will do short selling for retail traders? |
Is anyone here able to shortsell? |
This is compounding which is truly magical; it brings about growth in principle and ROI. However, one has to be careful since there is the possibility of a loss, knowing continuous gain is not a guarantee. You must therefore bank some of your winnings, so why not remove 50% of the principle after your first winnings, etc. For example: Principle = 200, ROI = 140, Banked = 100 Returned principle = 240, ROI = 168, Banked = 220 Returned principle = 288, ROI = 201.60, Banked = 364 The money being banked is what is truly yours! But the casino owners will want you to keep reinvesting everything and not taking any of your winnings out. Why? Why else do you think? |
