RabbiDoracle: It is simple maths.
Naira goes from say N360 to N590, this is 39% devaluation loss.
If I brought in $1m and invested in an asset that rose from N2 to N12 (e.g UCAP) , let's break it down:
At $1= N360, my fund is N360m.
Excluding fees, I get 180m units of UCAP.
Sell at average of N12 and I get N2.16B excluding fees.
That is 500% gain in naira value.
Now exchange rate is $1= N590,
Final fund will be $3.66m, increase of 266% in dollar value.
This excludes dividends from the stock which when added beats devaluation of the currency.
Questions : -Are you not basing your assumptions on hindsight( it has already happened) -How do you find similar asset that is yet to attain such price like UCAP? - If there are controls, how do you take your funds out?
1st question : Use foresight, research to find the new multi-baggers
2nd question : look around and you will see value. There are people whose job is to forecast possible selling price targets.
3rd question: Leave story. The statement simply means N590 now would have a purchasing power of N360, which is clearly a decrease in power for N590 prior to devaluation. Thus your math is wrong the percentage devaluation is not 39% but 63.89%. |

Let's create our own bull run joor since we can't get a piece of the MTN action The only time they will give us chance is at the end like Dangflour |

Mcy56: So, in essence, you're saying.................... we should play on with J ? ....but its better to watch market reaction first.
Caveat updated: Nobody should quote me, na kwesion I ask cornwall. Not only kwesion, what of kweyri At 7pm shouldn’t you be in the kitchen doing your job; preparing to make dinner? I figured Dipo’s heading was a bit too alarmist and not mentioning some other details. The Mareva Injunction obtained by Access bank since January was an abuse of judicial process and has been lifted by the high court of Justice Aneke. This is obviously what is causing the Japaul rally. |

Japaul Operations Under Serious Threat https://businesspost.ng/2019/05/07/japaul-operations-under-serious-threat/ Read it carefully, better still read from PROSHARE, their article is more detailed and less sensational. Japaul Plc’s Access Bank Burden: Excessive Charges Unhinge Relationship As FHC Vacates Mareva Order https://www.proshareng.com/news/Frauds---Scandals/Japaul-Plc%E2%80%99s-Access-Bank-Burden--Exces/45215 The case of Japaul Oil & Maritime Services Plc, who acknowledges the debt owed its bankers, Access Bank Plc but has a higher counter-claim as evidenced by the forensic report is the latest. The company has been under a MAREVA order obtained by the bank since January 15, 2019 that has all but crippled the ability of the listed entity to function as a viable going concern. Today, the Federal High Court (FHC) in the Lagos Judicial Division before Justice C. J. Aneke, recently won a court judgment against its banker Access Bank Plc over wherein it challenged the MAREVA order successfully.Enter The Forensic Audit To validate its internal accounting findings, the board of Japaul approved for a forensic audit to be commissioned and engaged the services of the reputable firm of Messrs Forensic Consulting whose report was received in July 2018. The report according to the marine service company showed that Japaul had been the subject of alleged excessive bank charges to the sum of N18.7bn and $94m through a review of its transaction history with the bank. Matters in Contention Japaul claimed in the court papers that it had approached Access Bank to complain about the exorbitant charges it noticed in its corporate account with the bank after an internal financial audit. The company requested that the excess charges be reversed and duly credited back into its account. Recall that in Guaranty Trust Bank Plc v. Innoson Nig. Ltd. |

Mcy56: Lol. Transcorp na one kind stock, I don't know it's problem these days, it's a good jijo stock in the past. It's that oil deal news and granting of loan to Heir Holdings that made me to enter it. It always seems as if some people are waiting in the corner to bring out plenty offers just to crash the price once they see the price going up, but it will deliver at the right time sha. Written January 3rd Wow good call. Prophet mercy |

I can't condemn any decisions made by people in this stock market again.
NEVER AND NEVER And that is the same "fundamentally sound" Zenith that was selling for N34.00 almost 2 years ago!

rebekah2011: Sir, go and look at payables if it increased or not. If you see accrued salaries there, please run and never look back. I just pity some folks playing kalokalo with their funds. Japaul is gone and buried. Nothing has changed in the company ooooo. Exactly my point. So many stocks here just bring out a little news and kalokalo starts Seems to be the name of the game Let’s just be wise in whatever we do. Make sure to measure your reach whenever you enter any stock even the ones with so called “good fundamentals” #KalokaloEverywhere. |

Coolcash1: I totally agree. This is pure raping of shareholders...There is need for a forensic audit to be carried out on the company. Admin costs continue to swallow up revenue every time.... Japaul’s result is not too shabby at all! Turnover increased by 30% and all costs reduced drastically. Mr Jegede seems to have turned a new leaf |

Peter, I tell you say you missed bargain price for transcorp, now you'll have to buy higher. Maybe not as high as you think. Doubt if it will reach 1.70 before “the wise” start bailing out! |

Mcy56: You're right boss. Just saying that based on the fact that he was already inside DF bus but when the result came out, he quickly disposed off the remaining half he left in his portfolio, believing that the price would tank......but eventually there was strong support for it at N10+..... and also getting attention instead. More reason I thought he could have waited to see what was pursuing him before fleeing in this instance.
Well, I knew this cos he actually mentioned it when I asked him about Oando............ before cornwall someone will be on my case now. Is it Oando or DF we are discussing? Anyway why won't he run ( who go see masquerade stand LOL ) Masquerades here were chasing him and chief among them; you their high priestess!! I will look for your picture and show you! |
