Romance / Re: Good Girls Always Fall For 'Yeye' Boys? by CorporateNija(m): 9:18am On Aug 17, 2005
True.. true .... true... good girls fall for bad guys. Also.. some good girls fall for good guys, and some bad girls fall for bad guys. The reasons for these are beyound us, but the rules of permutation and combination means that all of these instances MUST occur. maybe the "good girl" like story and na only the bad guy dey fit tell am the most incredible story possible. cool
Romance / Re: My Sister's Boyfriend is Asking Me Out by CorporateNija(m): 9:03am On Aug 17, 2005

Romance / Re: 3 Weeks to Our Wedding, I Want Her Junior Sister by CorporateNija(m): 8:56am On Aug 17, 2005
what exactly do u see in the younger sister that u feel is lacking in ur fiancee? is it physical attributes, then forget it because it's effect on u will wear off after sometime. Is it some personality trait, if yes then how important are those traits to u in the long run. Because they dated for 4 years doesn't mean he's getting married out of love, mayb he feels obliged to. At the end of the day if the you see CONCRETE reason why u shouldn't marry ur fiancee, then better now than u breaking up a marriage 10 years from now when u may already have had kids and plenty regrets. cool
Romance / Re: Having an Affair With My Cousin by CorporateNija(m): 8:39am On Aug 17, 2005
Oh and seriously, no taboos. There's never being a concrete reason as to why one should kiss/make out or marry one's cousin, - hot_angel
Neither has there ever being a concrete reason on why one shouldn't kiss her brother or father.
But that doesn't stop it from being wrong morally. certain traditions are put in place to put order in our lives else our daily interactions will be destroyed. It is what separates us from other animals. what then will u call the relationship of children born to 2 brothers that are married to their first cousins?
Romance / Re: Having an Affair With My Cousin by CorporateNija(m): 8:22am On Aug 17, 2005
Kazey... ur post on this is probably the most objective of the lot.
various factors should be taken into account on this. issues like- what is the cultural precedence, what is the degree of separation between the cousins, is it 1st, 2nd or 9th cousin? In matters of the heart u can't choose who u may fall in love with, but if he's ur 1st cousin then u must consider that this may be classed as incest, besides think of the effect this may have on ur family if discovered. small pleasures now...big yawa later.
Romance / Re: How Romantic are Nigerian Men (and Women)? by CorporateNija(m): 8:08am On Aug 17, 2005
Trae_z the only reason that guy went to lick pinks blood is because he's a vampire- he was short on blood. grin
For those who are waiting for the day Obj will kiss stella in public... well may ur days be very long because it will take eternity for that to happen. Besides kissing in public is foreign o our culture and we don't need to embrace every foreign culture. Kissing in public doesn't necessarilly translate to romance. Being romantic doesn't require some monumental feat. Just embracing ur girl while she does the dishes is romantic. holding hands and exchanging secret smiles is romantic. Sending a text msg to say "I love you " while ur woman is at work is romantic. small efforts... big returns. Are Nigerians romantic.... some are, some aren't.
Romance / Re: Your Girlfriend Asks, "Honey, How Do I Look?" by CorporateNija(m): 7:48am On Aug 17, 2005
Diplomacy... diplomacy ......diplomacy. Nobody likes being told that his or her actions are in vain, even for us guys. you can always tell her " you look great darl.... but I prefer the green dress on you". Because I know that if after gadging for an occasion, then someone tells me "O boy ur shirt weak oo" I no go find am funny.
Religion / Re: Fornication or Homosexuality, Which is a Greater Sin? by CorporateNija(m): 7:35am On Aug 17, 2005
It is always easier to criticize actions that we ourselves do not commit.
Public perception also dictates what is and what isn't allowed. In places where homosexuality is allowed, people as not as vehement in their criticism of the act. This however does not take away the fundamental truth- both acts of fornication and homosexuality are sin before God Almighty. None takes you to hell faster or slower. grin
Romance / Re: Would you test your Fiance/Fiancee? by CorporateNija(m): 7:24am On Aug 17, 2005
What a silly test!!!! where is the logic in the test? so what would he have done if she had refused- would he have laid back with a big smirk on his face and congratulated himself that his would- be wife will not even for the sake of thier love sleep with him even if his life depended on it? And the ease with which he so readily calls off a wedding with his "beloved" speaks volumes about his true feelings. Does his being a Man give him the right to walk all over someone's heart like that? Or does he not consider the devastation to a fellow human being of his course of action? so much for love!!
Family / Re: Kind of Husband or Wife You Aspire to Have? by CorporateNija(m): 5:16am On Aug 17, 2005
Latoya, u would need to genetically engineer the genes of the man u want with all those attributes.
The kind of wife I look forward to having should amongst other things be able to cook me 3 sqare meals daily. She should have no problems understanding that I have no responsibilities in the kitchen. She must appreciate that I am lord of the house and my words are laws- my paying her brideprice means I call the shots always. Ofcourse her physical attributes must leave me constantly at attention. She should also be ready to provide enough male heirs to run the empire I intend to build. ....... laugh...... seriously tho, I would prefer a beautiful woman with her head properly screwed on and possess everything from a great sense of humour to class to intelligence to a caring dispositions etc. ... ahh lest I forget, she should also be able to cook up a mean meal of pounded yam and draw soup.
Politics / Re: Who Should Be the Next President of Nigeria? by CorporateNija(m): 7:07am On Jun 20, 2005
"why should anyone bother about who will be the next president in naija when these three will get togother and work out a deal on how to take turns in running the country, vote all you want nothing is going to change".

With attitudes like this, Nigeria won't be going very far anytime soon.
As a people, we have indeed lost the vision and lack belief in a magnificent Nigeria materialisng in our generation.
Our unwillingness to be selfless and make sacrifices that would make a difference in the generations to come will ensure that this stagnation continues for a long time to come.
Business / Re: Security in Nigeria by CorporateNija(m): 6:49am On Jun 20, 2005
First things first.
I'd suggest your father obtains evidence of this threat e.g he could secretly record any of such threats made to him.
However it's a pity that it present day nija, we still have such instances of bullying.
Nija is unfortunately still a jungle in many ways, so another advice I can give is if your dad can't play the play, then it won't be a bad idea for him to take a much needed extended break from the "hectic working hours"- if you know what I mean.
Also consider prayers and faith. It works.
Business / Re: Alhaji Aliko Dangote: What do you know about him? by CorporateNija(m): 6:31am On Jun 20, 2005
Hmm, Aliko Dangote, he really is a mystery.

Suffice it to say that business in Nigeria (just as in all other countries) requires a business man to have as much contacts as he can. What do you guys think the functions are of the lobby groups in America? Simply to influence the political class to make the business environment conducive for their business interest.

A business man without contact.. hmm.

Romance / Re: 20 years age difference - does it really matter? by CorporateNija(m): 1:19am On Jun 20, 2005
Well I see no reason why a girl can't date a man much older than her. I am actually the product of such a relationship, and don't see where the problem is since they are still happy together. What really matter is the chemistry not the age. Love can transcend generational differences. Obviously I'd expect thata man that's so much older would apply more finesse and have a better approach that blurting out his intention in such fashion.
