I still believe that PMB is God sent. PDP really dealt with us.
I can only judge APC after 16 years. When they finish their
16 years as PDP, then I will compare.
Even magicians can't do much in 2 yrs under the condition
PDP left us. Crude oil selling about 80% less than what it
was selling when PDP was stealing instead of investing. If
PDP was still in power under this condition, it would have
been a serious chaos. They were borrowing money to pay
salaries when oil was around $80 per barrel. What would
have been our fate now the oil is around $40? Imagine, APC
is still running government under this condition without
borrowing.
No chance for the looters again! Don't worry, the 5k
allowance is underway.
Are u aware that Buhari is sharing savings the last government saved from gas proceed ?
Are u also aware that the money in excess crude account saved by the previous government, is being shared by Ur King?

Until an APC politician is probed I will take this anti-corruption war with a pinch of salt.

An example is the confirmation of Fashola even though he was accused of paying 78 million naira for a website.

I agree that there is no politician that is squeaky clean, I also agree that PDP politicians may even be more corrupt, however calling the misappropriation of 78 million naira nothing is the reason why our leaders loot because we will always defend them.

78 million is approximately £285000, now food for thought David Chaytor an MP (equivalent of a senator in Nigeria) was jailed in 2010 in Britain (a country far richer than Nigeria ) for misappropriation of £18000.

I wish you guys living in Nigeria goodluck

i frown seriously at any form of corruption and its vices but will be eager to read and see where these defaulters are brought to book with convincing and factual evidence of corruption and embezzlement.
but telling us that they are still gathering evidence that will nail them to me is arrant nonsense.
so tired of any process of gathering evidence, now yearning and hungry for convictions and probably recoveries of stolen funds and properties followed by Jail terms, then i can heave a sigh of relief that soon, Nigeria will be free of corrupt practices in the civil service.

The questions you should have asked yourself before coming up with this crap, you called opinion, were:

Did the PDP candidate in Benue State file his ground of petition on the "in appropriateness' of the primary election that brought up Otorm as a candidate?

If he did above, was INEC as an Observer, invited to testify?

If he did the above, did INEC aver at the Tribunal that no primaries actually took place?

Did he submit all the relevant documents to prove his case beyond doubt?

Politics / Re: Sylva Mobilises Bayelsa APC Members To Clear Refuse by coruso(m): 5:59pm On Nov 03, 2015
morgist:
The Bayelsa State All Progressives Congress governorship candidate, Chief Timipre Sylva, has mobilised women and youths of the party to evacuate refuse in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State capital.

On Tuesday, the APC rolled out refuse trucks, caterpillars and other earth-moving equipment to carry out clean-up of the various areas where heaps of refuse were noticed.

Also on hand to assist the operators of the refuse equipment were scores of party faithful, comprising young ladies, women and youths.

The party faithful, who adorned vests with inscription, ‘APC cleans Bayelsa,’ had trooped out with their brooms, buckets, shovels, rakes and other items to clean the state capital.

The party faithful were shared in groups to different parts of the metropolis to clear the garbages at strategic locations such as Swali market, Kpansia market, Kpansia Community Secondary School, Opolo market, among others.

But following the development, the Bayelsa State Government was said to have quickly mobilised contractors to clear the garbages.

The development saw the APC members and government contractors clearing the heaps of refuse side by side.

It was observed in Okaka area of the state that while the APC members were clearing the one opposite Berger, the government contractors were clearing the one opposite the FCMB.

Before the clash of interest, the government contractors had cleared the garbage dumps at OMPADEC junction, Ekeki Park near the Deputy Governor’s residence on Toolda Street as well as the one by Okaka Primary School.

Giving insight into what led to the exercise, the Director, Media and Publicity, Sylva-Igiri Campaign Organisation, Chief Nathan Egba, lamented that the government had not been able to manage the environmental sanitation situation in the state.

This is just as the Dickson campaign team, Restoration Campaign Organisation, accused the APC of being responsible for the heaps of refuse in Yenagoa.

While carpeting the APC for engaging in the flash sanitation, RCDO described the exercise as “the deceitful style of campaign” by the opposition.

But Egba said, “The reason for doing this is simple: everybody living in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State capital, now knows that the government is not able to manage the environmental sanitation situation in the state.

“As a result, epidemics and other diseases are likely to break out. There are instances where such rubbish is piled up in front of schools and market places. The private residence of the deputy governor is suffering similar fate.

“The idea is simple: to help the government clear up the places and to ensure that our people are able to live in epidemic and disease free environment.”

Egba said the exercise, which would be a continuous one, would be replicated in other parts of the state, noting that they had received invitations for assistance from other communities in the state.

Reacting to the development, Dickson’s campaign team called on the APC to look for other sane and more dignifying means of campaign.

The RCO advised Bayelsans and other residents of the state to be wary of the antics of the APC members “who are desperate to grab power through the back door by advancing various dubious means.”

The Director of Media and Publicity, RCO, Jonathan Obuebite, said the flash sanitation exercise carried out by the APC “has now confirmed to everyone the earlier assertion that it is indeed the so-called change party that is responsible for the heap of refuse around the state, particularly in Yenagoa the state capital.”

Obuebite described as embarrassing such cruel campaign strategy of the APC, adding that “they decided to carry out the show of shame on a day that is usually set aside by the state sanitation authority for evacuation.”

that Is the beauty of opposition in democracy. After this event, PDP government in the state will do nothing but to sit up with regards sanitation.
Politics / Re: Why It Is Illogical To Claim That 'PDP' Destroyed Nigeria For Sixteen Years by coruso(m): 12:52am On Nov 03, 2015
Kennydoc:

Guy, let's just be reasonable, okay.
The mess Nigeria experienced was never about the party in power, but about the crop of politicians we have had as a country.
If it was all about PDP, how come states that have never had PDP governors like Borno, Yobe etc aren't perfect today?
How come there are still fraudulent governors in APC like Rochas, Aregbesola who still can't pay salaries despite collecting bail out from the FG?
Was PDP also responsible for the massive corruption perpetrated by Shehu Shagari's administration between 1979 and 1983, which led to the inglorious ousting of that government executed by Buhari himself?

I know it feels cool for APC members to say that PDP destroyed Nigeria over the past 16years, but knowing that the major actors in those years are currently in APC should make them feel ashamed of themselves too. It wasn't PDP that destroyed Nigeria, but rather members of PDP. If those members are now in APC, then APC shares largely in the guilt.
For instance, it's gross stupidity to transfer the blame for the failures of the FG between 1999 - 2007 on Jonathan, simply because Obj is now in APC. That's what is exactly happening now, cos people think of 16 years of PDP rule, and only GEJ comes to mind. GEJ bears the blame for everything.
It's so bad that even El Rufai, Kwankwaso, Amaechi etc will come and blame PDP for the mess they themselves caused. These guys should be ashamed of themselves.
after reading the op post, read this too and try to understand before u attempt to comment . Make this politicians no use ur head.

"Why Has Buhari and His APC Attack Dogs Quietly Retreated From Attacking Diezani Alison-Madueke?What does Buhari want to be kept a secret concerning his cowardly withdrawal from the media lynching of the former Petroleum Minister and first female OPEC President? As you may be aware, Alison-Madueke's husband is Rear Admiral Allison Amaechina Madueke, a retired Nigerian naval officer. He was military governor of Anambra State from January 1984 to August 1985, and then of Imo State until 1986.The husband of the former Petroleum Minister is a retired General just like Buhari and the whole attacks on his wife by the APC finally came to a head about a month ago.Madueke booked an appointment to see Buhari and Buhari was happy to see him thinking he wants to come and beg, so they can carry news of their meeting as propaganda as this irresponsible government often does. When he got to Aso Rock, Madueke warned Buhari over the attacks on his wife.Sources in Aso Rock say, Buhari was apologizing, that he didn't send anyone to do what they are doing. Madueke said that if they think his wife went to school for nothing they are mistaken. Or that in her 5 years in the petroleum ministry she didn't uncover corruption during Buhari's time, then he is mistaken. That if he hears one more assault on his wife from Buhari and the APC, in any format, he will personally call a world press conference and expose all their dirty oil deals dating back to the very beginning of discovering oil.He threatened that when he exposed how the Northern has raped this country's petroleum resources, they can kiss Nigeria goodbye, because the people of the Niger Delta will know the extent of the injustice done to them by Northerners.People who witnessed this meeting say Buhari was shaking. Begging, that he never attacked Diezani. He never sent anybody to write anything. The man told him off, saying, "But you read those reports that said my wife was running after you in the tarmac, that she greeted you and you did not answer her greeting?! Did you disclaim them?!! Did you tell people it did not happen?!" They said, Buhari was apologising that Madueke should calm down.Madueke finished what he had to say and walked out. Buhari's aides were stunned.Since then, nobody has even tweeted anything about oil, Diezani, etc.

criminalmindz:
friends and colleagues from every part of the nation and some of my best friends are not even from my side of the country.

However, recent events are making me to have a deeper reflection and I wish we- Southerners in this instance- can have some kind of introspection. Out of 25 appointments made so far, 18 are from the North, 3 are from the South West, 4 are from the South South while the South East has ZERO appointments. A tweet which I saw today stated that “southerners are only competent when it’s time for elections but northerners are competent in terms of governance” and this made the following thoughts run through my mind:

1. Only Southerners have been accusing fellow Southerners of corruption. Oshiomole has been attacking Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala as if Ngozi turned down his marriage proposal. The same Oshiomole tried to make nonsense of Akinwumi Adeshina’s successes in the agriculture sector. Ambode tried to pull Fashola down and successfully smeared him with stains. Maybe that’s why Fashola did not get the Chief of Staff role. I’m yet to see a Northerner accuse another Northerner of corruption, even when they belong to different parties. The closest a Northerner got was when the new Kano State Governor attacked Rabiu Kwankaso but he quickly sheathed his sword and even disowned previous reports of attacks. Why are we like this?

2. Are Southerners the only ones who are corrupt? Were there no northerner heading the ministries and parastatals? Did the outgone Comptroller-General of Customs, Abdullahi Dikko not have an alleged case of certificate forgery but he still served out his tenure until he resigned voluntarily? I’m not in support of corruption under any guise but the fight against corruption must not be seen to be sectional.

3. How come it’s easier for the President to believe that Sanni Abacha was not corrupt in spite of recovered loot while it is so easy for him to believe Goodluck Jonathan is irredeemably corrupt?

4. I still remember that aside from God, Tinubu made Tambuwal what he is today. The same Tambuwal would later call Femi Gbajabiamila ‘incompetent’ and rated Dogara as more competent. The same Tambuwal was propped up by Tinubu, a Southerner against a fellow Southerner, Mulikat Akande. Obasanjo was very key to denying Goodluck Jonathan a second term. A good number can still recall how OBJ tore his PDP membership card in public glare. The Northerners find it easy to support themselves but we are always pulling ourselves down. Babangida Aliyu, Sule Lamido and all the other Northern Governors including the former PDP Chairman Adamu Muazu often times refused to campaign for Goodluck Jonathan openly and many times even espoused the virtues of the opposing candidate on the rostrum!

5. Southern leaders and Presidents pull down Southern business men but prop up Northern ones. How many people still remember how Obasanjo ran Mike Adenuga out of town but both Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan made Aliko Dangote what he is today. No northern leader goes against their own. I dare to put it on record that President Buhari will never go against Aliko Dangote for any reason.

6. How come OBJ pardoned Salisu Buhari, the ex-Speaker who forged his credentials and he later was given an appointment as a Governing Council member of a University and heavens did not fall- but when Goodluck Jonathan pardoned Alamieyeseigha it became one of the major issues counted against him? Is there one rule for some and another rule for others?

7. We find it easy to raise our voices in support of the deportation of Buruji Kashamu but have no qualms with Atiku Abubakar strutting around the corridors of power.

8. Only Southerners find it so easy to abuse their elders when they voice opinions not in tandem with the popular opinion. We find it easy to diss Afenifere elders and call them ‘Afenifebi’ while hurling expletives and curses at them. We even abuse our kings and priests. Northerners will never abuse an Emir no matter how unpopular what he said is. Can you imagine any Northerner raising his voice against the Sultan? In spite of Tanko Yakassai, Balarabe Musa and Dangiwa Umar’s perceived support for Jonathan, northern youths did not abuse them. But our own youths run down our elders on social media while our educated elite also support the act.

These are some of the thoughts that have been running through my mind. I don’t pretend to have all the answers and I do this at the risk of being labelled an ethnic bigot. The point however is that Southerners have to get their acts right. We have to put our house in order. The bickering must stop. Let’s engage our emotional intelligence. Let’s not allow others to exploit our tendency to self-destruct.
food for thought

Politics / Re: Petrol Subsidy Rises To N48.15 Per Litre by coruso(m): 6:18pm On Jun 04, 2015
It amaze me when APC are still subsiding fuel when the claim the whole subsidy thing was a scam.
It makes me ask the following questions
Did they really have proper understanding of governance in Nigeria?
Where they misinforming the non discerning populist to get to power. The question goes on
Nigeria should come together, notwithstanding if they supported party a or b,and start asking the government of the day to keep to the promises the made during campaign.
That way the county will be better for all of us.
