Naturally i will advice you to learn Q-basic then move to visual basic (you will be able to build apps knowing a little about visual basic), next is to immediately learn java. If java is too complex you can learn Corona language (its almost like java but much simpler). Learning all this you can build your own app easily within 2-3 months. Note that if you are a Self-taught read pdfs and go on online and take courses

Learning programming is a little bit cost in this country. You can easily teach yourself programming languages via pdf and online courses. This helped a lot. Now i am programmer of 8 languages and very 5. There is a point where trained-taught programmers start learning themselves. If you teach people how to program don't forget you dont fish for people, you teach people how to fish.

As easy as it is i can write a program to calculate the distance of planets just by using some Few formulas from physics and quantum physics. There's no idea that you can't program you just need the right ingredients

I started programming with Microsoft small basic. My first program was creating a text using graphic windows in a 3d format. It felt really cool
