electronicguy:I don't believe I've ever come across a V8 Toyota rav4 before. In addition if this image is the mileage photo of the advertised vehicle, www.nairaland.com/attachments/7284752_img20180619wa0024_jpegd87e0702ee882fd2f44a85d7ab6efe1f Then you may want to verify the year, and while you're at it, indicate the VIN. |
computerglobal: ![]() If that would make you happy, alright then. Your opinion is noted. The facts are clear, though. |
Summary is, this vehicle is a German manufactured, European market 2006 Mercedes-Benz S350 W221 LWB. |
computerglobal:This is where things get slightly more technical. Note earlier I mentioned that the European model years for the S350 W220 were 1999 - 2005, The American W220 S350 ran from 2000 - 2006. The vehicle you posted an image of is a 2006 Model Year AMERICAN S350 W220. The same vehicle in Europe would be a 2005 Model Year S350. It's the vehicle below.
|
computerglobal:This vehicle is not a 2005. It's a 2006 Model Year. You seem to be confusing date of manufacture or delivery or registration with model Year. It's the same vehicle as below. Same images.
|
computerglobal:Is the above the vehicle you stated is a 2005 vehicle? |
I guarantee you will not find a 2005 S350 W220 that has the same exterior appearance as the vehicle the OP posted. That specific styling started from the 2006 in Europe, and 2007 in America, and had some facelifts, ultimately terminating in the 2013 Model Year. The vehicle is a 2006 W221 Merc S350. LWB, from the looks of it. Same as the vehicle below.
|
computerglobal:Yeah, we are. I mentioned all this in the datacard I posted for this VIN last night. Date of release, date of delivery, etc.
|
computerglobal:Bro, Check your information again. The vehicle you posted photos of is a 2006 Model Year S350, but was first registered in December 2005. It's the same vehicle in my image below. Note the encircled.
|
computerglobal:That not accurate then. This particular car is from Europe and the 2005 European S350 was the W220 with the rear fascia below: www.nairaland.com/attachments/7283889_20180619062255_jpeg66b891bf47bf4fe5a6d5e512db5e835b The w220 as shown above ran from 1999 - 2005 in Europe, replaced with the s350 w221 from 2006 - 2013. Below is the rear fascia for the 2006 w221 S350 for Europe. www.nairaland.com/attachments/7283886_20180619062445_jpeg5bb4d13ec1b26360c0a6261e25a55681 Note the styling and the lamps. It matches the image posted by the OP, never mind the debadging. It's a 2006. |
computerglobal:According to your information, is this a 2005 or a 2006 Model Year? |
To clarify, this is a 2006 Model Year Mercedes-Benz S350 W221. Released and delivered on the circled dates. As has been mentioned, this isn't regular North American, this was manufactured in Germany, for Europe or Asia, so it doesn't really follow the US VIN style.

Interesting. |
Mayor555:In that case this may not be a simple case of MVAA database errors. Meanwhile this vehicle left the USA in a relatively new state in 2012. What happened afterwards is unclear. In any case, carry on. In other news... ![]() www.nairaland.com/attachments/7280653_screenshot20180618115035chrome_jpegd1526e067dfe56b82231ea052303a3e0 |
Mayor555:Documents can be mocked up. A photo of the VIN sticker by the driver's door showing that it belongs to this vehicle would be better. |
Mayor555:Don't thank me Sir. As I mentioned, there's no evidence that the VIN you posted belongs to this vehicle. You would need a photo incorporating elements of the vehicle to prove that. But as long as the VIN you posted belongs to this vehicle, then the findings stand. aninweze:Exactly. |
The OP needs to present 1. Valid documentation that links the VIN he posted a photo of, to this vehicle 2. An image incorporating elements that show that the VIN he posted is the actual VIN on the VIN sticker of this vehicle If he wishes to clarify the situation further. The only indisputable fact here is that the VIN in the MVAA website, 1HGCP2F668A122105, is non-existent. |
kingreign:Boss, the vehicle with the Posted VIN is a 2012 model year Honda Accord, which was imported into Nigeria in relatively new condition, but Tokunbo, it wasn't purchased brand new in Nigeria as the OP insinuated. The specific mileage at time of export in 2012 is unclear, but I'd hazard a guess that it was less than 5,000 miles, which is still quite new. The VIN decoder site you used focuses on the parts of the VIN, and doesn't examine the VIN as a whole. It wouldn't indicate a valid or invalid VIN. |
As much as this OP is notorious for his reluctance to fully disclose information for his advertised vehicles, he does not appear to have engaged in wrongdoing here. The MVAA site has a lot of errors, they routinely enter inaccurate VINs for vehicles, I've come across VINs with Q, O and I before, which is simply impossible. Everything below presupposes that the VIN provided by the OP belongs to the advertised vehicle. That may well not be the case. Further analysis of the situation reveals the following: The VIN stated on the MVAA site is 1HGCP2F668A122105 However the sequence of this VIN appears to be invalid. www.nairaland.com/attachments/7279915_screenshot20180618092055chrome_jpegd57432450a495cbafac0401fe246ca91 The VIN the OP stated as the VIN for this vehicle is 1HGCP2F66CA122605 Which is valid www.nairaland.com/attachments/7279970_screenshot20180618092146chrome_jpeg20bd3fe26857f7e1124b7b117212a665 And appears to match a 2012 Honda Accord manufactured and titled in the US in May 2012 at 60 miles, and was subsequently exported from the US in 2012. www.nairaland.com/attachments/7279966_welcometoautocheck11_jpeg_jpeg837cc5b31d06e9424a0964cf9c8dbbaf www.nairaland.com/attachments/7279968_welcometoautocheck13_jpeg_jpeg40e7f40e44c1c3c5757944649193f5c0 So the vehicle was purchased new in the US, titled/registered there, but was exported in 2012 in relatively new condition. |

dpsalmist15:https://www.nairaland.com/4551457/trip-computer-unit-measurements#68317827 |
dpsalmist15: I see my first guess would have been that op actually rolled back the odometer on seeing it at a reading of 200 k plus while not certain the units being actually used to measure the car same applies to most buyer they don't actually know readings for countries are different for those that don't know, Cars from the USA reads in miles while most cars from Canada and Europe have their odometer calibrated in KMs a simple conversion by multiplying miles by about 0.6 or there about will give us the readings in miles please let's take note so as to avoid misinterpretations of actual readings that being said if one is to go by the odometer reading posted here car has about 120k miles in which considering states of corollas brought in here is not bad at all so op please take note and if possible do necessary adjustments that could just help boost your sales. |
|
dpsalmist15:Yes, you're right. The odometer was rolled back from 205,697 KM to 92,000 KM as the seller stated. It makes very little difference to the dishonest activity, whether the rollback clocked 100,000 KM or 100,000 miles. The difference is relevant only to the state of the vehicle. That would be like claiming a difference between stabbing a victim 5 times and 9 times, or with a red or black knife. |
mknigeriagreat:I am a grandfather with decades of experience, and 5 of my grandkids came around to wish me happy fathers day as well. But that's irrelevant to the issues so I won't dwell on it. Good, you know that odometer tampering is criminal. That's a start. Yet somehow you have ignored the dishonest fellow advertising a car with false information and with a tampered odometer, and you think your problem is with me for exposing that shady behaviour? What 'information' exactly have I 'released' that could 'implicate' me in whatever scenario is going on in your head? Rethink your priorities. |

mknigeriagreat:When you go and find common sense and intelligence, join them together, then use them to explain the link between stating the true history of vehicles with publicly available information and "car goes missing you can be mailed down oo". Your Kobo is worthless, irrelevant and should have been left in the dark, dank alley from whence it was dredged up for this public display of ignorance and shame. Don't be ignorant and foolish at the same time. Choose one of them and excel at it. Just my Kobo. |
|
I know you deliberately left out the VIN. You didn't forget it.
