GrandeurEmpire:Best value my foot. Mileage - 205,697 KM, not miles. Any seller or importer who engages in odometer rollback is very dishonest, and maximum caution should be excercised when dealing with such an individual. In places with laws, odometer rollback is a felony, attracting jail time. If an importer can get rid of hundreds of thousands of genuine miles from a vehicle odometer, what's the guarantee that he didn't also skimp on the import duty? |
Sometimes these blind arguments baffle me. Oga OP 1. There is no such thing as a 2012/2013 vehicle. Every vehicle has ONE model year. The 10th digit of the VIN in nearly all cases, represents the model year. It's a number for 2000-2009 Vehicles, and an Alphabet for 2010 and beyond vehicles. Even if the production date is 09/12, but the 10th character of the VIN is D, this is a 2013 Honda Accord Sedan. Further, this blind argument of yours would have been resolved if you had done just a bit of research, or made enquiries. This is a North American 2012 Model Year Honda Accord Sedan https://cs.copart.com/v1/AUTH_svc.pdoc00001/PIX128/d5bd7b7d-0dfc-426a-8554-da88d70ab14a.JPG https://cs.copart.com/v1/AUTH_svc.pdoc00001/PIX128/85d8d746-5240-4876-8338-89ed40dbbbd5.JPG This is a North American 2013 Model Year Honda Accord Sedan https://cs.copart.com/v1/AUTH_svc.pdoc00001/PIX107/c96a7c95-d88b-4873-bd5b-7a807ee36900.JPG https://cs.copart.com/v1/AUTH_svc.pdoc00001/PIX107/8fa8d8e7-8318-4b0c-86fd-964083a307b8.JPG This is a North American 2014 Model Year Honda Accord Sedan https://cs.copart.com/v1/AUTH_svc.pdoc00001/PIX114/af30080c-5361-4dfd-bb7e-46eaffc2a829.JPG https://cs.copart.com/v1/AUTH_svc.pdoc00001/PIX114/d1fad185-12ef-4908-87dd-3574fadade74.JPG Which of these vehicles most closely matches the vehicle you're advertising? |

Salvaged Vehicle. Minor damage, but not a Clean Title.

All this long story is unnecessary, all these made up stories of registering and magically stealing car from outer space with VIN are just rather dimwitted and unimaginative. If a seller refuses to provide the VIN, please move on and look for another advert. There are several 2006 Honda Accord here with the seller happy to provide the VIN because they have nothing to hide. Save your energy for someone who deserves it. There is absolutely nothing wrong with asking for a vehicle VIN. Many sellers with much more expensive and better cars provide the VIN here even without asking them. If for this 2006 Honda Accord the VIN is being withheld with such determination that should already be a red flag to any interested parties. |

Controller360:Auto manufacturers often have a variety of differing model nomenclature for different international regions, for different reasons, it could be as a result of host country regulations, etc. Image 1 is the Honda Accord Euro R, possibly the 2005 2.0 version.(2002-2008). Not available in North America, available in Europe, and parts of Asia, notably Singapore. Image 2 is the North American Acura TSX. (2004-2005) It is largely a similar vehicle to the Honda Accord Euro, with some variations. This one has the 2.4l ivtec 4 cylinder. Image 3 is the same Honda Accord Euro. Image 4 is the same 2004-2005 Acura TSX with a ?kit Summary: Regional naming differences. Could be cultural, political, legal. It's like the Mitsubishi Pajero, which is also the Montero, and the Shogun. They couldn't use the Pajero name in Spanish speaking countries and the US because apparently Pajero is Spanish slang for a masturbator ![]() Also - Infiniti Q50 , Q60 vs Nissan Skyline |

Now that our well respected and distinguished comrades have left their erudite and well meaning contributions , I will leave my not-so-respected position. When you come across an advert with the VIN absent or any irregularites in the post, - Politely request the VIN, as well as point the irregularites out. If the seller takes the responsible path like many do and provides it, and addresses the raised observations, if you have some interest in the vehicle, you may order a VIN report. If the findings directly contradict the claims by the seller, such as a salvage vehicle declared clean title, or a vehicle with accidents in its history declared as accident-free, politely indicate the findings to the seller and move on. Unless the seller decides to escalate issues. In which case you're at liberty to return the favour. It is, afterall, a public forum. When the seller refuses to, like some do, simply move on. At this point it should be obvious that for sellers who refuse to do so, things have a way of working themselves out ![]() |
