UNTIL SOMEBODY LOOSE HIS BREATH ON THIS THREAD AND DROP DEAD ON CALCULUSX MATTER.

THIS DEALER IS THE MOST CLINICAL HERE IN THAT A COMBINATION OF VIN CHECK HISTORY AND PHYSICAL INSPECTION INFORMS HIS DECISON ON BUYING CARS HE SELLS.

NOTE SINCE THIS DISCLOSURE CAMPAIGN BROUHAHA RAGING FOR MONTHS NOW. NO CUSTOMER OR CLIENT IS COMPLAINING OF A REAP OFF

THE BOTTOM LINE IS customer satisfaction is ensured THAT IS WHAT HE HAS BUILT IN HIS BUSINESS PROCESS.

HOWEVER HE ACHIEVES THAT IS HIS STRATEGIC ADVANTAGE. HIS BEEN MAGNANIMOUS ENOUGH TO INFORM US HERE THAT ITS BEYOND VEHICLE HISTORY ON LINE. HE HAS BOOTS ON GROUND IN USA. I SEE SOME OF HIS AUCTION BID WON AT $8000 . NOBODY GAMBLES WITH SUCH AMOUNT. IT'S BEYOND ONLINE DATA CAR PURCHASE DECISION.

THE TASKFORCE LETS EVEN KNOW EXACTLY WHAT WE ARE TRYING TO ENFORCE IF ITS ANYTHING OTHER THAN CUSTOMER PROTECTION FROM DISATISFACTION.

OBU KWAZI IHE UMUAZI ( IT HAS BECOME CHILDS PLAY)

I HATE TO SEE A CHARACTER ( TRACK RECORD, EXPERIENCE AND SPECIALTY) WHO SHOULD FORM PART OF THE AUTOMOTIVE FACULTY OF THIS SECTION BEING VILIFIED OVER FEBBLE ONLINE REPORT AND WHAT HAVE YOU
Ponder the following:

1. Has it occurred to you that before that Toyota corolla thread which has been hidden, but which I have copies of, I didn't really bother with his adverts? Almost never even looked deeper at them?

2. Did you ever notice that before that same Toyota corolla thread, nobody really bothered him for VIN, as they bothered the rest of the sellers in this section?

3. On the thread created by explore.rs months ago based on the activities in this section, I mentioned this seller multiple times as an ideal example of a seller to emulate.

4. Go through his threads and you will find comments left by me showing support for his adverts, months ago.

5. Do you realise the actual issue that broke the dam for him was when he taunted Jodecibmw to provide photos for that corolla on that thread, and I took it upon myself to step in and salvage that situation?

6. You saw that thread, and I will provide images of it if you don't recall, but I do know you left comments there in support of him. Do you recall when an appeal was made to him to end the situation before it went any further? I made that appeal. But his pride has consistently proven to be his undoing. It will not let him admit wrongdoing.

7. I for one have placed much stock in his adverts in the past, unbeknownst to him I did look into a few of them, got the VIN, and did not make any findings contrary to his statements about the vehicles.

8. Where things came to a head were on the thread below when I came across a clear case of misrepresentation about a vehicle, either lack of due diligence by him in knowing the history of vehicles he advertised, or wilful misrepresentation.

https://www.nairaland.com/4483152/accident-free-2015-toyota-camry

Go through that thread again.

When you do, keep the following in mind:

1. The primary reason he developed a sort of special status here was that he could be relied on to accurately and truthfully represent his cars as they truly are.

2. He has stated over and over that he does not care about vehicle history and only focuses on its current state or condition.

3. If the above were true, don't you realize that directly contradicts the position in 1 above?

If he doesn't know a vehicle's past, or doesn't factor it into his decisions, as he has stated, how then do we take his word for it when he claims a vehicle is accident free, or clean titled?

This was a 2004 Mazda 6, it was indeed imported to Nigeria in 2013 with a rebuilt salvage title, had a Texas-issued VTR-441.

Was involved in a collision in Austin in 2012, moderate reported damage. Retitled afterwards though.

FastShipping:
Hello

It's been six months since I've been away from auto section of nairaland. My last post here was March on another section. I started following events again in auto section just yesterday.

What do you intend to gain from asking vin# and details of vehicles that are displayed here? Let it be clear to you if you don't know that buying clean/ non accident vehicles cost average of 40% more than the salvage titled vehicles. How many Nigerians can afford clean title vehicle? A clean title 2006 Toyota Corolla with 120,000 miles is sold between $4500-$5500. While same vehicle with slight damage and salvage
title is sold for $1900-2500. Do the maths. If you ever go into car business today and start sending clean title vehicles to Nigeria, you are going to cry out of the business. I actually don't think you're doing any service to potential buyers. You're only creating cloud between potential buyers and the sellers. It's the buyers who should be asking questions and not you. Buying salvage vehicles doesn't stop it being road worthy. Scrutinizing every post here is not the way to go. A case where you Google lot number and saw a car with minor dents should not allow you to destroy someone daily bread. I'm a an wholesale dealer in the US too and a shipper and I can tell you 98% of vehicles I ship and Nigerians buy are actually salvage. To buttress Calculus and others claim on some of these vehicles you've argued about, sometime in March a customer asked me about my thought on 2012 Toyota Highlander looking so clean without accident but came with salvage title. I googled the vin and I found the same Highlander was sold at IAA San Diego, repaired and sold again at copart Dallas. The moment I showed the prior accident the guy said wow but still bought it anyway. The vehicle is in Nigeria now. I shipped it. Same scenario with another 2016 Honda Accord I bought for another nairalander. He didn't care and we won it for $9400. Anytime you see a sparkling clean vehicle at copart or IAA, believe me the car already went through repairs.

It's okay to scrutinize badly damaged vehicles when you do your research online and find them but once you see vehicles that are slightly dented, no need trying to make the vehicles as bad as they look. Salvage title doesn't make them bad vehicles as they sound.

Cheers
If you indeed spent any time following this movement, you wouldnt go ahead to type all of this. This is all totally irrelevant to the issues.

All that about the buyers asking and not me, etc etc etc are just irrelevant. This Is a public forum, and you bet I, and anyone else who so wishes, will make those VIN requests. If you have a problem with them, provide the VIN.

As I have stated over and over again, I have no problems with importing accidented or salvaged vehicles. None. As long as they are not flood damaged.

Majority of the vehicles with the VIN displayed in the adverts in this section right now, are accidented and/or salvaged. But as long as the VIN is included, I will not make any further comments. Unless the vehicles are flood damaged.

My problem is with these vehicles being advertised falsely and misrepresented
.

I will ask you one simple question.

https://www.nairaland.com/4483152/accident-free-2015-toyota-camry

Go through the thread above.

Is that Vehicle accident free, as the seller stated boldly?

PS

Let it be clear to you that you should at least attempt to understand situations before you weigh in. Doing otherwise just makes your contribution seem random.

Mr calculux the gentleman I quoted above have said it all. The bolded are wise words. Dont get me wrong, I mean these guys are doing a good thing by helping buyers, human beings being naturally selfish almost no car buyer Here will want them to slow down since the buyers only stand to benefit, i even find it interesting how some shady dealers are exposed lolz but seriously having gone through most of the threads here it is bla bla bla bla etc etc etc
The above is what happens when you want to pander to someone in an obsequious manner but want to be seen as being on the right side of things. It's okay, we all have people we look up to. smiley

To clarify, I have nothing against the landlord or any other landlord here. I do not know or wish to know anyone here personally, the sum of my judgement and impressions are gained from interactions here, on this forum.

Go through my posts if you care to and you will see that I was once a champion for the landlord here. I used his adverts as a standard, I commended him on his apparent practises.

Where things went wrong were on the Toyota corolla thread when he taunted Jodecibmw and some compatriots, and I had to come to their defence. His pride didn't let him accept the truth about the interaction and here we are, weeks later.

Mr landlord, I don't really care about you personally. In my line of work holding a grudge is a dangerous thing. I hold no grudges, or none that you should concern yourself with anyway.

If you will continue to focus on your business and remain transparent and cease to taunt compatriots, when I see some issues with your adverts, I will point them out politely, and move on. The same as I do for any other advert I visit in this section.

About my motives and intentions etc, you are entitled to your opinions and impressions. They mean very little to me. Insignificant wink

As for the rest of the torchbearers and panderers, may you all get what you deserve wink

As for the 'exaggerated' report and your insistence that you do not care about vehicle history, and that it is not a factor in your purchases, well good luck with that. It has gotten you in trouble with your dishonest and false claims before, and I have a feeling it will again.

The next time you claim a vehicle is accident free or has a clean title and it is found not to be the case, well those findings will also be brought to that thread and made known. I have already spotted one of those.

You can count on that as well.

Car TalkRe: Trip Computer Unit Of Measurements by Cosplay:
1. What's the VIN of your Vehicle? If it's from Canada, it's likely in KM. If it's from the USA, it's likely in Miles.

2. What is the primary/larger unit of the speedometer on the dash display? If it's calibrated in KM, the trip computer and everything else will be in KM.

If it's in miles, everything else is in miles.

Below are the speedometers from two 2007 Toyota Yaris from Canada. Note the primary unit of the speedometer. It's in KM.

The trip computer and everything else would be in KM

The screenshot you posted actually refers to the 2008 Toyota Camry in the thread below, not the link you posted. You made a mistake there.

https://www.nairaland.com/4359201/tin-can-cleared-2008-toyota-camry

Note the mileage in the auction pictures.

AutosRe: SOLD.....Tin-can Cleared 2003 Toyota Corolla LE Leather Seats by Cosplay: 10:12am On Jun 09, 2018
I ask because if the screenshot you posted was in reference to the primary 2007 Toyota Camry advertised in the link you posted,

https://www.nairaland.com/4389998/sold-tin-can-cleared-2007-toyota

then something is wrong, because you stated the actual mileage of that 2007 camry as 114,120 miles, and there is an auction picture of the odometer with 114,038 miles confirming the mileage you stated as correct.

However in this screenshot the vehicle had 123,284 miles as at December 2017, so it does not match the main 2007 Toyota Camry in that advert in the link you posted.

Perhaps the screenshot is for another vehicle besides the main vehicle in that thread, or for another vehicle entirely?

Bros, As of now, Vin no on all adverts here is not Mandatory except if Seun said otherwise tomorrow. Beware Vehicle History are often exaggerated so I don't bother checking the history before Purchase, it's NEVER my deciding factor. I'm more concerned about the Present state of tge Vehicle at time of Purchase. This link https://www.nairaland.com/4389998/sold-tin-can-cleared-2007-toyota and attached screenshot is a typical example

Pre-purchase Pictures appear on almost all my adverts, any advert without Pre-purchase Pictures will have the Vin no displayed for prospective buyers henceforth
Can I ask which of the vehicles in the link you posted, this screenshot you posted belongs to? There are several vehicles in the thread in that link.
