But that your 1911 pix is too damn sharp.... Kilode!?
Osahon7:
how come a 1911 pic is clear with coloured backround?
This was the pioneering work of Sergey Prokudin-Gorsky. Brilliant gentleman ahead of his time.

It is one of the earliest color photographs in existence. He used three exposures with red, green, and blue (RGB) filters to create the composite image.

Seun,

We need a Moderator on this forum to enforce this VIN issue. As this website becomes more and more popular, we see people advertising more everyday and that`s good but getting some of them to post the VIN is like pulling teeth.

There are individuals who have taken it upon themselves to provide reminders to the posters but people do not always listen to them. Please, let`s appoint a Moderator. igwe1 is my choice for obvious reasons (see his posts in the Auto section) but if there are others out there, no probem.
The more things change, the more they remain the same.

Slightly confused,

The owner of the site has after much discussion among the membership asked that cars be advertised with their VIN or Chassis number.

Every car that leaves a factory anywhere in the world has this number.

Anyone selling a car who can't locate it (or ask their mechanic) should IMO not be selling cars.

The only plausible explanation for not providing this number is either there is something wrong with said automobile, or the person doesn't have physical access to it. There is nothing, I repeat nothing that a 3rd party can do with this number other than look up the cars history.

Don't understand why this takes 6 pages of comments to determine.

Just wondering why would you say unnecessary...Dont you ask same on other threads or is there a particular reason why he should not

Selective Perhaps
If you were actually paying attention to what you quoted instead of trying to take cheap and silly shots, you would note that the part in bold, specifically, the 'If it won't hurt you' was what the 'unnecessary' referred to.

To illustrate that the message recipient understood the message go through his subsequent VIN request messages on other adverts.

Please show me a single post I have ever made requesting purchase photos. When you look and you don't find any kindly keep wondering then GTFOH.

Thanks.

It's the very same Vehicle. Don't be fooled by the modified front bumper and the rolled back mileage.

Ask the seller to provide the VIN. Then you'll see that it matches the VIN above.

If the seller would respond. He's part of a JIJI bot network.

Nice. It's for an American-market 2WD FX35. White exterior, beige interior, and manufactured in September 2005.
[I'd spare you other details]. The point remains, that the car advertised here carries a fictitious VIN.
Did you check the other thread I posted a link to previously? I'm curious to know your take on that situation.

As I said, there is no Infiniti for the Japanese market, even though they're all manufactured in Japanese plants. If I found the identification plate you posted more legible, I'd give you the profile of the car.
You seem to have misunderstood my messages. I am aware that while infiniti may in part be Japanese-Manufactured, it's often Export-Only.

I'm also aware that there's certainly more about this vehicle than is immediately obvious.

The photo I posted was to illustrate the usual Japanese market Infiniti FX VIN plate and how this vehicle differs from it. The VIN I posted comes up as a 2005 FX35. Chassis code JNRAS08U

My point is that while this may not exactly follow the general Japanese VIN system, it would require further investigation to determine the facts of the matter. One step of which would be the scan tool you suggested.
