Newly decorated Chief of Army Staff COAS),Lt. Gen. Farouk Yahaya, on Wednesday, said that bandits and other criminals waging wars against the government and undermining national security “have been sent to God to go and answer for their crimes”

The Chief of Army Staff said this shortly after he was decorated as a Lieutenant General by President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo at the presidential villa, Abuja.

Addressing newsmen, the COAS appreciated Buhari for the confidence reposed in him and pledged his unalloyed loyalty on behalf of the officers and men of the Nigerian Army.

He said, “I want to first most sincerely appreciate the President and commander in chief of the armed forces for the confidence reposed in me and now being decorated Lieutenant General and Chief of Army Staff.

“And I want to pledge my unalloyed loyalty on behalf of the officers and men of Nigerian Army and also continue to do our very best to arrest this challenge that we have, particularly insurgency, insecurity and other violent crimes.

“We are already getting successes. We will leverage on that, including our experience in this job and by the grace of God, we shall get there.”

When requested to send a message to the bandits and other criminals elements in different parts of the country, he added, “That’s what we have started doing already and many of them have been sent to God to go and answer for their crimes. And we will continue to do that."

The United Kingdom Parliament is set to commence a debate on the repatriation of the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, from Kenya to Nigeria today (Wednesday).

The British government had clarified that Nnamdi Kanu, who was travelling with a British passport, was not arrested within its shores.
IPOB had accused the Buhari regime of abducting its leader in an East African country, a claim confirmed by Kanu’s attorney, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, who accused Kenya’s special police force of arresting and torturing him before he was handed over to the Nigerian government.

Meanwhile, Kenya High Commissioner to Nigeria, Wilfred Machage, had refuted claims that Kanu was arrested in the country.

But the UK Parliament, in a parliamentary schedule posted on its website said it will set aside a debate on Wednesday, July 7, to discuss the British government’s assessment of Kenya’s role in Mr. Kanu’s arrest.

According to the document, Lord Alton of Liverpool will be raising the issue at the House of Lords and will query the government on the separatist leader’s transfer to Nigeria.

“Lord Alton of Liverpool to ask Her Majesty’s Government what assessment they have made of (1) the alleged role of the government of Kenya in the detention and alleged mistreatment of Nigerian activist Nnamdi Kanu, (2) the circumstances surrounding the transfer of Mr. Kanu to Nigeria against his will, and (3) of any assistance being provided to him by the High Commission in Abuja. HL1665,” the document read.

For God sake, Gumi only risked his life by offering to persuade the bandits to stop the crime. Even the Katsina and the Zamfara state Govs went to see the bandits to advocate for peace. Look, was it not dialogue that brought peace in the N/delta? lots of you guys have mistakenly believed that Gumi is not sincere. Have you guys forgotten Gumi stance by opposing GMB to contest in 2015?
At no time did Gumi go to the bandits without a gvt person etc. Gumi most times uses the state security apparatus to get the contacts of the bandits.
I advice we always look at issues objectively. We should not allow the junk and the social media news becloud our reasoning. Hope this helps.

Relevant no doubts but I still have some reservations:

The main purpose of plates is to prevent food from touching dirty surfaces right? So if the edible "plate" finish touching all these surfaces are we supposed to still eat it?

Like you ordered for food and the waiter carries the food in the plate, with his hands touching it and drops it on the table, then after you'll still eat the dirty plate.
