@EgunMogaji, good point. Very good point. Laws do change and its consequences can be damaging. Remember the family violence issues that was nothing in the pass but a seriou issue now. People that has pass history of it are having issues now going pass USCIS now.

But I still think, is hard core law to mess with the constitution. Also good point from my canadian friend.

I agree Mr. Trump may not win. I see you are a Republican. Hahahaha anyways good to think so
TravelRe: Trump To End U.S Citizenship For Children Born In America by cozybunch(op): 5:17am On Aug 18, 2015
@EgunMogaji, I understand from your stand point having worked all this years to provide for you self and family. It is difficult, however lets see it from a realistic point of view.

For any constitutional amendment, these steps has to follow

1. Third of the members of Congress has to say yes.
2. 2/3 of the 50 states will follow suit and has to agree
3. 60% of senate will say yes for final approval

This takes months and years to achieve and taxe paying money. He cannot certainly do it through executive power. It is complicated and you know it is very unsual to make constitutional amendment in states, not that it has not be done before.

What do you think

But don't you think against the U.S constitution?

TravelTrump To End U.S Citizenship For Children Born In America by cozybunch(op): 9:23pm On Aug 17, 2015
The American billionaire celebrity reality show guy Mr. Trump, one of the Republican candidates for American presidency nomination, wants to end citizenship of children born in American with out an American parents if elected. This includes visitors that comes to the U.S solely to have their children in states, which goes against the constitution that declares citizenship to all children born in U.S soil.

He also wants to deport millions of undocumented parents of children born in the U.S which will lead to separation of families in U.S

What do you think?
TravelRe: Us Embassy A Profit Making Organization by cozybunch: 8:38pm On Aug 17, 2015
@oazeez12, no country with a consulate office all over the world gives free services. The nigerian embassy in u.s charge for visa application and mailing which they require it registered. They also want you to pay for your mailing with self address envelope. By the time you add up all the processes required you've spent close to $300.

Note: After all the process, your visa process may still be denied. So check the money you spend for American visa and that of Nigeria and tell me which one is cheaper.

@worry359, owing 19 trillion in debt has nothing to do with visa fees. The u.s consulate office is under the state department, funded most time from the budgetary department. Services secured are of necessity to help other projets such as NGO sponsors in the country the consulate office is operating in.

All countries in the world operates pretty much thesame way but with a little better organization from one country to the other.

Now, denied visa application is based on classifications and instructions from the u.s state department. This department has her reciprocity with the executive body (the president and vice president) on foreign affairs concerning u.s. So I should think, dealing with them is a serious matter and all visa applicants should be genuine.

Good Luck

You may not necessarily graduate with the degree you intended when you got your admission. You will still do some selective courses and you will have an academic advisor who will mentor you through out your program.

As you study along your advisor will help to tailor you to a discipline

@19naia, u sound like one from the east cost; round trip less than $800 lol. May be east, put into consideration other parts of states and also the period for his trip as it is high now (summer).

Those from south, west, alaska or even hawaii pay way more, even when plained.

@deybholar, please visit the site of normadic matt on Maldives, you will be suprise how you can budget your self and stay within your limits. Hotels for $40 and less a night.

Now, you are smart working on getting a buddy to travel with. By doing that you can now pay $20 or less a night. Also for more expansive search go to TripAdvisor, search for topic on Maldives, you will see people's contributions and they are very helpful.

I use TripAdvisor a lot whenever am going to a new terrian, menbers there gives real time advise such as where to visit, best means of transportation, cheap hotels, areas to avoid etc.

I will be in frankfurt this September, I aready have vital information needed from members there as I have never been on frankfurt. Have done a lot of transits there but never got inside to see the environment.

These are good tips for you. Maldives is a nice island, nice to visit. Be careful of them taxi drivers as they know you are a tourist. Ask questions from locals first before jumping into any cap.

Good Luck.

@bellafricana, angola seems to be coming into light, like you said they are reach in oil and economy growing rapidly.

However, there few things that bother me with the country. They top 10 strict visa restricting countries in the world. Research pings on their strict visa allotment. It is even difficult for Americans to get visiting visa to angola.

Now my question is why. If you leave their can you trow more information

@ shnug, go to bt-store.com you will get different airlines with different prices and choose which one, you want. Please type it as it is written above so not to make any mistakes.

Now as of the period, lucky enough summer is almost over. Your best time for the rest of the season is fall which starts from September, I think 23rd. From that time thru 2nd week of November is good. Any time 3rd is considered holidays in states, from thanks giving thru Christmas and new year, not a good time to come in both cost and weather

TravelRe: Get Out - Different Ways U.S. Based Nigerians Kick Guest Out by cozybunch: 4:37am On Aug 14, 2015
@azeezakande, you are on point. Every nation has her culture, chemistry or makeup and over all practices. When you go to work in the morning and your home boy stays are home, have the t.v on all day which consumes 60% of electricity, the air is on for summer or heater on for winter ( depends which type you use, electric or gas), runs water like crazy and go to the refrigerator and eat breakfast and lunch, by the time you are coming back tire say 5,6, or 7pm as the case may be, you may not even have food in the refrigerator to eat, them you start making food or try to order some food been tired. Friends you do this for 3 months, by the 4th month you will be tire and start reacting.

Now for husband and wife still thesame. Bills are slipt or paid accordingly, according to what they earn, unless your spouse earns 6 figures them his wife may now be a home sit mum, taking care of the kids.

Now lets enlighten our selves on how you spend money or money gets dugout each month. Please this is for all of our benefit

1. Rent or mortgage as the case may be (monthly)
2. Car note (monthly)
3. Car insurance (monthly)
4. Electric or gas bill depends which one you use (monthly)
5. Water bill ( monthly)
6. Disposal and recycling (monthly if you have a house or every three months if you are renting also depends on the city if they operate monthly or not)
7. Health Insurance taken out of your monthly pay check ( monthly)
8. Uncle sam (taxes) ( monthly) from pay stubs
9. Social security ( monthly)
10. Medicaid (monthly)
11. Retirement eg 401k and so on ( monthly)
12. Gas in your car (weekly)
13. Groceries (weekly)
14. Other retirement plans such as IRA etc
15. Home owners association fee ( for home owners ) depends where you leave and the type.
16. Home insurance if not included in your mortgage ( for home owners)
17. Property taxes (for home owners) depends how you city designs it may be quarterly, bimonthly, every six months etc.
18. Credit card bills if any (monthly)
19..student loan if any (monthly)
20. The craziest (high way tolls)
21. Day care if you have children or baby sitter (monthly)
22. Car insurance (monthly)

And the list goes on and on. Remember 90% of the list above is on a monthly bases. There are other list to mention but will keep it minimal for now.

That is why people react the way they do, most people choose not to come home not too often. Life in states is not easy, unless you are doing small illegal stuffs.

Even those in the medical field still do not get it easy. They still have to work like crazy, some 80hrs a week double the required given, just for overtime pay, which a lot still go to uncle sam (irs or taxes)

Good topic though

Good Luck on this quest
TravelRe: I Have An American Visa But Dont Need It.. Not Now by cozybunch:
@redcliff, u have nothing to worry about. You are given 2 years visa for you to use at any time within your visa time. There is no rule as in the time to utilize it. My only advise is try to use it atleast before your last 6 months of your visa time. If you are coming on grounds of b2, atleast 6 months is required because you wouldn't get beyond 6 months stamp from the cbp officer, if is b1 grounds them 3 months. Your best bet is atleast 6 months before expiration.

@messilistic, there is no rule or law thats states you wouldn't be given visa again if you do not utilize it. The problem there is the burden to convince the vo, the reasons why you did not use.

The u.s state department is the department that constitutes immigration and visa rules in United States. They don't have a law or penalty that states if you do not use your visa, you wouldn't be given another. USCIS that is part of Home Land Security, do not have such rules either. This are all speculation from people, or people who could not give real time reasons why they could not use their visa, go about saying such.

Having said all these above, the conditions for giving you visa is for you to use it because you gave the vo officer reasons to issue you visa. It is always advisable, however to utilize your visa. However, those reasons you gave can always change giving you grounds for not using it.

The above statement is not a legal counseling but solely for the purposes of this forum. If you need any legal counseling, you have to seek for an attorney.

Good Luck.

TravelRe: My Big Brother Wants To Send Me To USA, Please Advice. by cozybunch:
@omojesu202, I will like to know on what bases or kind of visa that you brother intends to help you with. If you are going as a migrant because you guys have some one in states that will be filling for you such as one of your brothers or you parents or any type of legal migrant petition, them you are good to go for it.

If he is planning a student visa type or visitor type of visa, them here are your options

There are quite different types of student visas, all with strict restrictions but for the purposes of this writing, I will limit them to 3 types. I will start with the most common

F1 visa. This type of visa do not allow you to work outside your school. You are limited to work only 20 hrs a week during school session. You are allowed to work up to 40 hrs during non school sessions example summer holidays also only within your school. There are certain conditions mainly under hardship that USCIS may allow you work out side your campus. Remember you have to meet those conditions.

M1 Visa. This type of student visa only allow you to work on the training or skills of which you are studying for. It has to be within what you are been trained for.

J1 Visa. This type of visa does not allow you to get paid only within the specific traing you came for.

Now if you are coming as a visitor or tourist or business as it is classified b1/b2 visa, you are not allowed to work. Now this visa has a lot of restrictions this days more especially after 9/11 attack in U.S.

The USCIS has enroll what is called E - verify, meaning all employers has to verify any potential employee with the USCIS before any employment. It is the law. It is an electronic thing that your information is send and it comes back to the employer if you are qualified to work in U.S.

Brother life is difficult for people without papers now in the U.S. You can't drive, taking this statement back, you can drive with your b1/b2 visa but only with the given visa duration by CBP officer at your point of entry (meaning your driving time is within the stipulated authorization given to you by the CBP officer) nor you get social security number or any thing that will allow you to work or hustle as you put it. Even those with papers still have it though or difficult.

Now this information is for the purposes of this forum as any other professional advise should be sought to a legal counseling or an attorney. Your life is important and your career, what ever it is, very important. You don't want to waste your time or not be informed before taking a journey.

Good Luck.

Like I said in my first paragraph, Lufthansa is your best bet.

TravelRe: Americans Flocking To China by cozybunch: 7:17am On Aug 11, 2015
@1stworldview I am not going to write long article on this topic because it can go into academic research and stuffs like that.

1. I disagree a lot on most of the things you wrote while I agree in some like the infrastructure which I will come to latter.

2. According to u.s state department, about 110,000 americans are in china only on expatriate mission. This is update 2015. I do not know where the Chinese survey is from but your best information is u.s state department.

3. Yes president obama sign a 10 years visa agreement with the Chinese. Report show that 1.8 million Chinese came to u.s on a b1/b2, f, j etc visa status and contributed to $21.4 million which helped the American economy last fiscal year. On that bases stats where measured and found improved contribution to u.s economy over the years. On that bases the u.s agreed on the changes with the Chinese.

Note: 10 years is only for b1/b2. On the port of entry a b1 category will only be allowed to be in u.s for 3 months. This will be determined by the cbp officer while a b2 category will have 6 months stamp. While f visas and j and the rest will have 5 years from the u.s consulate office but will have shorter stamp at the port of entry based on the duration of the individual study.

U.S is benefiting more on this deal, base on the money Chinese people spend in the u.s and many of them are investing in the u.s but not in chine.

4. On the infrastructure, chine just started development and so will have newer infrastructure. Remember it is not only chine here with new infrastructure. We have dubai, Singapore even Malaysia. It is expected for this countries to have newer things than the west

5. Chinese development is only in major metropolitan areas but still have a lot of under development in the remote areas where u.s has development in all 50 states.

There many other good things you said about chine that makes them better like cost of leaving you mentioned and medical changes. This may sound fine and good, but remember u.s has a lot of her states that has low cost of leaving too. When we talk of u.s, we are talking of 50 independent, sovereign states that decided to come together and form a nation. I bring out a state like Wyoming, or Nebraska u will be surprised cost of leaving in those state. In u.s there is federal sponsored programs and state too. Even though u.s as a nation still struggle on medical insurance more than most western countries but remember most west are socialist while u.s is capitalism which was the main sole reason of them gaining independence.

Chine still has decades to move up to u.s standard bro

Good luck in ur experiment

It is not a ganrantee for permanent residence. I know of friends right now that have problems with such.

If you fail in love with a girl and marry her, there is no problem with that. You still have to prove is a genuine marriage. If your sole aim is to go and marry for papers them is a problem because it is considered as sham marriage. If you are caught, you will be deported and the lady in question can be prosecuted for

1. Lieing to the federal agency
2. Arrangeing a fraudulent marriage certificate because the marriage is not real in the first place.

Like I said I can only advise you. Hope you listen

TravelRe: Advice Needed On How To Get To USA by cozybunch: 9:56pm On Aug 09, 2015
@NaLaugh is correct on futher education. Check out schools for phd or other master programs. Now H1B visa is not as easy as@ NaLaugh said it but it is an option, reason been that such programs is capped. I think is 50,000 visa allowed for each year. The numbers may have changed by now.

F1 visa is always one of the best options to come to u.s legally and stay legal. U.S is not a country you come and stay illegal now because of changes in place now.

There is a huge tension now on the undocumented aliens right now in u.s. My very best advise go through F1 visa process

Good Luck
TravelRe: Extension Of Visitors Visa In Canada by cozybunch: 9:33pm On Aug 09, 2015
There are options for residence in canada. Skill program, they have even a new program just like the visa lottery in u.s going on now. My younger brother and family went through skill workers program, which gives you striaght stay and they have providential nominee even though that works more with people leaving their already in that province.

Now I will not advise you although wise because any other way is risky and not advisable. If you do asylum, on what bases will be your claim, u also stand the risk of getting finger printed. Canada immigration process is easier going the right way such as student visa or those other options I mentioned.

Now 2009 fcc countries where formed (u.k, u.s, canada, Australia, new zealand). The new rule is check asylum seekers out if any menber state has ran into such individual. Your record will be ran in canada and they will check your credibility.

You don't want to have a record and be banned or bar from coming to canada. Enjoy your visa and research on what I advise you.

Am tell you this because I have gained experience, and I will not advise what will get you into troble in future, not to scare you. You can end up do what ever you want, you are an adult, I can only advise. If I where you, I will focus on doing the right thing.

Good luck.
TravelRe: Extension Of Visitors Visa In Canada by cozybunch: 7:48pm On Aug 09, 2015
@alex406, please do not advise some one to go to a new terrian and carry his academic credentials. If he should go through Secoundary inspection as most country do he will have a lot of questions and answers to give which could tan his chance of legal entry.

Now going back to your question, most western countries have stoped extensions of visas. Normally
In the pass u.s and canada use to do it, but they have stoped it. You can study some diploma programs in canada without study permit but within your visa duration.

If you want to study, u must go back to your country of origin or country you have citizenship from or residence stay to apply. There is no adjustment of status to student visa with a visitor's visa while in canada so also in u.s.

U need to be advised that any documentation or c.v for job search you carry can incriminate you if you are by chance go through Secoundary inspection because they will search your suitcases both checked in and carry on suitcases. Some times they don't but will go through your carry on baggage.

You don't want to misrepresent your self because not only you wouldn't be allowed entrance, you will also be banned for some years, in this case 1-3 years as the case may be.

I have been to Canada two times, my secound I went through Secoundary inspection, my brother it is not something you will want to go through because it is psychologically tormenting. Even though I was allowed entry, I still could not believe what I went through. You will be asked questions you do not even expect, so my advise is do your vacation and while doing that you can look around for possible schools for admission. Them you go back and apply for your student visa.

Canada is one of the friendly countries that accommodate visitors and international students. Schools there are quite cheaper and cost of leaving is also cheap to compare to united states.

Good luck.

Pls guys follow the link above. Nigeria passport holders do need a visa to visit on any grounds to Singapore.

Remember also Singapore is a police country where government regulates every thing, it has one higest cost of leaving in the world.

Please do a proper research about the country.

We need to update ours self with such information b4 posting on social network.

Note also there is a difference between Dominican Republic and Dominica as another entire country of her own. Nigeria passport holders need visa to go to Dominican Republic but visa free to Dominica.

Is a good thing that countries like kenya and the rest are opening up to tourist purposes.
TravelRe: How True? Ivitation 4rm U.S Army Are Not Denied Visa by cozybunch: 3:15am On Aug 08, 2015
Please, there is no such thing. Just like @19nain said, if it is a military mission between the two government them you may not have any issues hence you pass all necessary clearance. Remember, such visa is negotiated by the state department throught the local embassy.

Now if your invitation is from an individual military officer them your case will be treated just as any other u.s citizen invitation letter, subject to approval or not approved.

If the above stated statement in secound paragraph is your true situation, them the burden is on you to prove your visa situation.

Remember the invitee fat salary or type of work wouldn't give you visa though psychological it seems if it helps. You need to prove you are a tourist and only coming for tourism or vacation purposes. You such most have a strong ties in your country of birth and so on, the burden to prove that all rest on you. Yes they will look at the invitation letter and other documents the invitèe gave you however, you have the strongest burden to prove you worth the visa.

Sponsorship works more when you, coming with a type of work visa or migrant type of visa, them the visa officer will look into details your sponsor such as marriage, nanny and other type of work visa.

Good luck though
