Henry120: An extremist only needs to have a loaded AK-47 to throw the nation in mourning. Multiply by 5 extremists and at least 80 un-armed civilians are dead. He does not wear uniform, it is not written on his face, infact he seems more decent than the pope himself. So how do you tackle the problem?
There are two sides to every story. Some would say three, even. Extremism doesn't arise out of a vacuum. It's not as if the North isn't neglected. It's not as if it's not one of the poorest and least educated regions in the whole wide world. Whose fault is that? The Naai-gerian nation brought Boko Haram upon itself because it lacks foresight.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by CraigB: 6:03pm On Sep 20, 2013
Henry120: 2) A negotiated settlement is not possible.
Neither is a military victory, by the looks of things.

So, you decide what it's gonna be. Brains always win against brawn.

Look what brawn has given you. Death by the thousands.

Boko Haram Islamists are as Naai-gerian as the Southerners are. To outsiders, it's just brother against brother.

Very clever nation. undecided

Henry120: You are a stup1d fool. Try typing with some amount of sense abeg. How do you negotiate with an islamists? How do you go about that?
Then I take it both myself and your government are "stûpid foöls".

On 16 September 2011, former president Olusegun Obasanjo held talks with some Boko Haram members in their birthplace and stronghold, the northeastern city of Maiduguri, where they tabled demands for a ceasefire which included an end to arrests and killings of their members, payment of compensation to families of sect members killed by security personnel, and prosecution of policemen responsible for the killing of sect leader Mohammed Yusuf in June 2009.

Truth hurts. You're killing each other because wisdom doesn't live in Naai-geria.

Thiza: NIGERIA IN TROUBLE......BH BOYS NOW IN ABUJA......@AGAUGUSTUS THIS IS NOT RHINO POACHING YOU ARE FACING OR SELEKE BOYS BUT REAL NIGERIANS

Nigerian forces and members of Boko Haram clashed in a shoot out near the main residential compound for lawmakers in Abuja on Friday, state security services said, the first clash involving Islamist militants in the capital this year.

A security team was searching for weapons after a tip-off from arrested members of Boko Haram, a militant group that wants to impose sharia law in northern Nigeria and has been responsible for hundreds of killings this year.

Boko Haram is seen as the gravest security threat to Africa's top oil producer. Although its activities are mostly located hundreds of miles away from its southern oil fields, its small presence in the political capital worries officials.

"Some persons were injured and 12 others have been arrested in connection with the incident," said a statement from state security services, Nigeria's secret service.

"No sooner had the team commenced digging for the arms, than they came under heavy gunfire attack by other Boko Haram elements," the statement said.

The last known attack by the sect in Abuja was in November last year, when gunmen stormed a special anti-robbery police barracks, freeing 30 prisoners and killing two police officers. That attack was claimed by Ansaru, a Boko Haram offshoot.

By far the most high-profile attack in the capital was in August 2011, when a suicide car bomb tore through the U.N. building, killing 24 people and gaining Boko Haram international notoriety.

In April last year, a suicide car bomb struck the Abuja office of newspaper This Day, killing two people.

The bulk of Islamist attacks occur in the remote northeast, where Boko Haram had its first major uprising in 2009.

Scores dead in Nigeria after Boko Haram 'ambush' in Borno

At least 87 people have been killed in an attack by Boko Haram militants in Nigeria's north-eastern Borno state, according to local officials.

Disguised in military uniforms, the militants set up checkpoints outside the town of Benisheik and shot dead those trying to flee, witnesses said.

They also razed dozens of buildings in Tuesday's attack.

Boko Haram, which wants to create an Islamic state across Nigeria, has waged a deadly insurgency since 2009.

Boko Haram at a glance

Founded in 2002
Official Arabic name, Jama'atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda'awati wal-Jihad, means "People Committed to the Propagation of the Prophet's Teachings and Jihad"
Initially focused on opposing Western education
Nicknamed Boko Haram, a phrase in the local Hausa language meaning, "Western education is forbidden"
Launches military operations in 2009 to create an Islamic state across Nigeria
Founding leader Mohammed Yusuf killed in same year in police custody
Succeeded by Abubakar Shekau, who the military wrongly claimed in 2009 had been killed
Suspected to have split into rival factions in 2012
Military claims in August 2013 that Mr Shekau and his second-in-command Momodu Bama have been killed in separate attacks; no independent confirmation of claim
From preachers to slave raiders
Communications with Borno state have been severely disrupted since May, when a state of emergency was declared in Borno and two neighbouring states.

But attacks have increased recently despite a massive military deployment to worst-affected areas.

Local vigilante groups have been formed to help counter the militants but scores of these volunteers have been killed in recent weeks.

Borno state governor Kashim Shettima visited the scene on Thursday, and described the killings as "barbaric and un-Islamic", and pledged financial assistance to relatives of the victims.

The Boko Haram members drove into the town in about 20 pick-up trucks, AFP quoted an anonymous security source as saying

He said they were heavily-armed, some with "anti-aircraft guns".

Benisheik was also the scene of fierce clashes earlier this month, which reportedly left five militants and 13 vigilante members dead.

The town lies 70km (45 miles) west of the state capital, Maiduguri, where Boko Haram was founded in 2002.

Last month, the army said it had killed Boko Haram's leader Abubakar Shekau but this has not been confirmed and the militants' attacks have continued.

Observers says it appears Boko Haram is taking revenge against vigilante groups, adding weight to fears that the strategy may trigger an escalation of the violence.

all4naija: What are you talking about? Didn't that include Nigeria as being colonized? You are very silly, my friend.
What you listed applies to everyone that's been colonised. Somalia included. It's not evidence of where Naai-geria would be. It's speculation.

You're an idïot.

Where would Naai-geria be without colonisation?

Based on what evidence?

Your whole exercise is stüpid, as demonstrated by your failure to answer this question.

And you have an inferiority complex, as demonstrated by the value you place on the opinion of "the West", your denial of the fact that you are black, your hatred of your blackness, and your belief that you're useless because you are black.

The only reason for your uselessness is that you're an ape. Race has nothing to do with it.
Foreign AffairsRe: Where Would South Africa Be Without White People? by CraigB: 11:30pm On Sep 19, 2013
all4naija: First and foremost, the disadvantage of colonization has been seen to have psychological impact on those colonized thereby making them to feel incapable of doing things on their own without colonial masters meddling on them.

Secondly, there is need for cultural background of the nation to flourish as we have seen of Japan that could have helped to speed up development. Also it gives sense of pride in the cultural values of the people

Thirdly, West will see Nigeria as friend than being unequal for the colonization reason. Like, we once ruled the country and has nothing they are capable of offering nor take to organizing things on their own.

Fourthly, there wouldn't have been much influence coming from foreign government and religion that has gradually enter into politic thereby causing more confusion and interference with the country politic.

On the final note, there is need to see that colonization has disadvantages which could have been avoided without colonizing Nigeria.
You truly are an idïot.

Assuming - only assuming it were true, the above could be said for every colonised nation. You have no evidence specific to Naai-geria. The whole thread is based on fluff and as can be seen, your own inferiority complex - which you deserve because you're a monkey.

The stüpidity of your exercise has been laid bare by yourself.
Foreign AffairsRe: Where Would South Africa Be Without White People? by CraigB: 10:24pm On Sep 19, 2013
all4naija: Without colonization Nigeria would probably be more developed than it is today and going along with the West without any animosity.

2,000 south african soldiers killed on home soil by ANC black terrorists

http://www.trackingterrorism.org/group/umkhunto-we-sizwe-mk

http://www.historytoday.com/gary-baines/south-africa%E2%80%99s-forgotten-war

"However, conscription caused considerable political ‘fallout’ as the number of SADF casualties grew. The number of those killed while on active duty in defence of the Republic of South Africa remains unclear, but it is thought to be at least 2,000. Nonetheless, from the mid-1980s the Border War was still regarded by the majority of conscripts (and their families) as a necessary commitment to ensure the continuation of white power and privilege. Occasionally, conscripts defied the system and joined oppositional organisations such as the End Conscription Campaign (ECC) and in rare instances national servicemen went into exile to join the ranks of the armed wings of the African National Congress (ANC) or Pan-Africanist Congress (PAC).

If one person’s ‘terrorist’ is another’s ‘freedom fighter’, then the white minority’s Border War was the black majority’s ‘liberation struggle’. "

NaijaPikinGidi: For your information, more Nigerian Army soldiers will gallantly die fighting for the country ... that is for sure! But our troops will NEVER abandon the the mission like your coward SANDF models did against a ragtag SELEKA. If casualties are sustained, it is the more reason to finish-off the fight ... and like true warriors we finished-off the over 4 hours fight, dislodged and cleared out the forest leaving over 150 dead Boko Haram insurgents. We are still standing and there is no Shekau to make any more propaganda videos of terrorist rantings.

Thiza: NOW THE ILL DISCIPLINE NIGERIAN ARMY IS REVOLTING/MUTINY READ BELOW

ABOUT 40 soldiers from the Nigerian Army are feared dead and a further 65 missing after they ran into a Boko Haram ambush in the Kasiya Forests in northern Borno State. According to local reports, the troops were left to face the heavily armed insurgents who attacked them from different directions following the failure of the planners of the operation to provide aerial support. Their colleagues are reported to have fired indiscriminately into the air to protest against the killings which they described as strategic errors.
