A Russian man is in line at the gas station. "I've had enough," he says to his wife. "You take the wheel, I'm going to shoot Putin."

After two hours he returns and gets back behind the wheel.

His wife asks him, "Did you shoot him?"

And he replies, "No, the line to shoot Putin is longer than this one!"
Oh ny god this is the funneiest joke I have read in ages. I've been laughing my a$$ out for days undecided

Not yet. I didn't make much sales in April to be paid in June so it's a carryover to the following month. But my Nigerian Bank account has been verified and approved.
They are trying to squash all third party payment platforms not registered. Platforms like Grey have been outrightly rejected

Modified: if you don't update your account details fast , it delays the visibility of your books. Everything including sales is put to a halt till you update your bank details. I was no longer making sales as usual at a point, then I checked my account and discovered the bank account update request, after I updated and it was verified, I made some sales after some days. So the sooner you update the better
Thanks. I tried using usepafet and I did receive royalties from some marketplaces but they eventually rejected it and barred me from publishing new titles. Right now I'm thinking of going back to Payoneer, which is also a third party site. Do you think it would work or should I just use a Nigerian bank like you did?

I was reading this in front page, an Iranian government officials say:

“Russia has given the S-400 air defense system to Turkey and Saudi Arabia, but does not give it to Iran, which has provided it with drone assistance in the war with Ukraine, because it might be used against Israel,” Ali Motahari wrote in a post on X.

“This is what the strategic cooperation with Iran that Mr. Putin talks about looks like,” he added.

Isnt this what we have been saying here and some people are saying it's not true
I have always been skeptical about Putins relationship with Iran. He is a likeable person but the more you read about his recent alliances, the more you suspect he is a snake

That thing Putin did irritated me. Imagine your supposed ally being targeted right left and center and being bombed to shit.

You still had to come to talk about Israel being a Russian speaking country bla bla bla. I think Putin has a sentimental attachment to Israel.

Come to think of it, Russia paid the ultimate price for Jewish freedom today, so there's no way that won't mean something.

Anyways that is that. You all may have to look at it from another angle. What if Russia is refusing to transfer those weapon technologies to Iran because they're afraid of it falling into the wrong hands. Into the hands of terrorist groups.

Iran does not seem like a country that can carefully guard state secrets.
Thank God you sef notice am. He is saying it as if Iran will get tankers and fly the jets to Israel or use the S400 to bomb Israel from Tehran. Iran's poor security is a legitimate concern but what about Syrian airspace? There is more to the story
Foreign AffairsRe: Russia-Ukraine War: World News, Weapons & Battlefield Discussions - Live by Crayfish09:
I have done all my calculations concerning this conflict. Iran cannot survive with this nuclear game. The west and the Arab world are against them. Even China will have to think twice about pissing off rich Sunni countries for Iran. It's either Iran goes all-out for the ultimate weapon or give it up for possible defense cooperation with China since they too would want to counter US influence in the region.

Good to know that you're also observing. Russia have delivered Iskander missiles systems to Algeria, delivered Su-35 fighter jets too,, and by the end of the year they will receive Russian fifth generation military aircraft i.e Su-57. This is Algeria, a country not at war or facing external aggression.

Iran has provided Russia with missile against Ukraine even damning Western economic sanctions. Provided them with drones, even gave them the technology and built Shaheed drone factory in Russian soil.

My brother since how many years I have been hearing that Russia is about to, will, would, shall, should, may, might supply Su-35 to Iran. Nothing was supplied.

It's even worse when you see how Israel is openly supporting Ukraine....

https://united24media.com/latest-news/israel-has-transferred-patriot-systems-to-ukraine-ambassador-confirms-8986
It is very likely that the delays are deliberate. NATO rallied around Ukraine and provided them with modern weapons despite not having any binding security agreement between them that I know of. They are not even EU members, but they're getting the solidarity and funding they need. China is planning to sell their best stealth aircraft the J-35 to Pakistan but with Russia, all we are seeing is series of betrayals at crucial moments. Why remind the world that Israel is a Russian-speaking country after it has just conspired with your enemies to illegally attack your supposed ally? Iran will be wise to strengthen alliance with China even if it means limiting their nuclear program. At least China openly supported them in the conflict despite opposing their nuclear project.

Unpopular Opinion

I do feel like Russians pushed out a false narrative against the Iranians when they said they Iran rejected a military alliance. I mean they never gave Iran the option of a military alliance in that agreement. Iran cannot reject what did not exist. i.e Pure propaganda.
I have my reasons; according to Asian Times.

i. Russia has deployed its most advanced S-400 air defense system to Syria, but the sophisticated weapon does not seem to work against Israeli jets.

It is an open secret that Moscow, an ally of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, allows Israel to conduct air strikes against both the Syrian army and Iranian militias operating in the country. Russia’s supremacy over Syria’s airspace helped turn the conflict in Assad’s favor, so why does it allow Israel to carry out its operations unimpeded?

ii. On December 28, Israeli warplanes attacked the container complex at the port of Latakia, in a part of Syria where Russia maintains its main naval base. The strikes hit a yard thought to house Iranian weapons shipments.

This was Israel’s second attempt to destroy the cargo. The first one took place on December 7, but was apparently less successful than the latest air strike, which caused significant damage.

That night, neither Russia’s S-400 nor Syria’s air defense systems attempted to hit the Israeli planes. The truth is, Russia never activates its air defense systems against Israeli jets. Such passivity is believed to be part of a wider deal between the two countries

iii.
For Assad and the Iranians, the Kremlin acts as an unreliable ally and partner. In 2010 Moscow refused to sell S-300 air defense systems to Tehran, bending to pressure from the United States and Israel. In 2019, Russia again rejected an Iranian request to buy S-400 systems, concerned that the sale would stoke more tension in the Middle East.

Even now that the UN Security Council embargo on conventional arms shipments to Iran is no longer in effect, it remains highly uncertain if Moscow will sell the S-400 to Tehran. The Kremlin is allegedly concerned that Israel could respond by providing sophisticated drones to Ukraine, where there are fears of an impending war with Russia

It's on record that Kremlin have refused to sell air defense to Tehran.. Refused to sell fighter jets to Iran too even after the United Nations Security Council imposed sanctions on Iran expired. This is a transactional diplomacy while it is good for short-term benefit others friendly countries will see you as an unreliable ally who cannot be trusted.

Please even if you don't agree with my opinion at least remain civil...
There is something fishy about Putin. He abandoned Armenia. He abandoned Syria. He failed to deliver jets to Iran on time and diverted Egypt's SU35 delivery to Algeria. It took him a long time to acknowledge that North Koreans were dying for him. I am assuming the Ukraine war is responsible for this if not, then the jewish oligarchs in Russia must have bought him over too. Whatever the case is, he is sending the wrong message to his allies.

you are the one who compared the S-400 to the THAAD by saying that the S-400 is better than the thaad. If you knew that they are different, why did you say one was better than the other?

As for the AI stuff, it was in response to that person that posted Google stuff.
The S400 can function as a ballistic missile interceptor, so your Ak47 analogy fails.

Shoodboi2, here are some specifications I got online:

THAAD: Maximum altitude: 150km, Detection range: 1000km

S-400: Maximum altitude: 60km, Detection range: 600km.

Confirm and see if it's the same.

https://www.jamiiforums.com/threads/dogfight-american-thaad-vs-the-russian-s-400-s-500-air-defense-missile-systems.1752740/
The Thaad works at higher altitudes but different sites are giving contradictory numbers on the detection range and engagement range.

The calculator and smartphone comparison make is more logical and relatable. A sniper rifle and an assault rifle are two very different platforms used by two different sets of people for two very different tasks. They are incomparable. Either will fail where the other excels.

An assault rifle cannot replace a handgun or even a shotgun either. Those have very different roles. It can replace a machine gun on specific cases, but you'll need to replace the magazine with a belt.

As for the calculator-phone comparison, a person who wants to use a calculator can use their phone or a dedicated calculator. But the phones can do other things other than just calculating, which makes them superior. Some calculator apps on phones are even more advanced than advanced scientific calculatiors.

With that in mind, calling the s400 a multipurpose platform is misleading. It is not a multipurpose weapon. It is designed to shoot down ballistic missiles along with cruise missiles and aircrafts, which is normal for those type of weapons.

Cruise missiles and aircrafts share similar tech and work similarly, so anything that can shoot one can shoot down the other.

As for ballistic missiles, anything capable of shooting down a cruise missile and aircraft will shoot down a ballistic missile.

So, it is not the s400 that is multipurpose. It is the THAAD that is inferior. A dedicated anti-ballistic missile platform like THAAD is almost never heard of. Countries almost never develop it.

Instead, they do is to develop a system that shoots down cruise missiles and aircrafts or satellites. Such system can then be used to shoot down ballistic missiles.
Well said. I followed along with the 'multipurpose' term because the s400 works with different missile types fashioned for different specific air defense tasks unlike the other systems.

Your analogy of comparing a smart phone and a calculator has to be the worst analogy I have ever seen.

A more accurate analogy is to compare a sniper rifle (THAAD) to an assault rifle (S-400).
An assault rifle can do everything a handgun, shotgun, machine gun, and sniper can. But it's not more portable than a handgun nor can it deal a wide area damage with one shot like a shotgun nor is it as accurate as a snipper rifle.

The S-400 is a jack of all trades master of nothing type system.

I noticed that someone posted a screenshot. It funny that that person chose to crop the remaining part of the Google search.

Here's the conclusion to my Google search results: "If the primary threat is ballistic missiles, especially those with longer ranges and higher altitudes, THAAD is generally considered the better choice. If a more versatile air defense system capable of engaging a wider range of threats is needed, the S-400 is a strong contender. The best system for a particular situation will depend on the specific threats, operational environment, and other factors."
The AK47 was never intended to be a sniper by its manufacturer. Its accuracy range proves that. But the S-400 was made with ballistics interception + other tasks in mind. You are comparing apples and oranges.

What the AI says remains an opinion. There is no proof that the thaad or arrow does a better job at intercepting ballistic missiles than the S400, but we know that it has a longer range, meaning it could stand a better chance of dealing with superfast missiles.

Even western military analysts have confirmed that S-400 is the best air defense system right now on the planet.

THAAD + Patriot + David Sling + Arrow + IRIS-T = S-400.

No one comes close, except maybe S-300.
Apparently, we have experts that know better than the western military analysts here.
Foreign AffairsRe: Russia-Ukraine War: World News, Weapons & Battlefield Discussions - Live by Crayfish09:
Hoaxen:
Actually, S-400 long range missiles costs about $1-3 million per shot. And it's on par with the David's sling ADs or even better. It is the S-400 short range missiles the cost $300,000-1,000,000. The S-400 is a general purpose system while the arrow and thaad are specialized for ballistic missile targets.

The Russian equivalent of thaad and arrow is the S-500. You should compare the S-400 to David's sling.
You are basically trying to tell us that a modern smartphone cannot calculate better than a Casio calculator because Casio has a specific purpose while phones handle multiple tasks. The S-400 being multipurpose is not a credible argument in favor of the arrow and thaad, especially now that they've been further demystified. The s500 remains closer to the s-400 than to the thaad or arrow, because it is expected to serve the same purpose with much greater efficiency.

Putting the s400 in the same class with the David sling is the biggest blasphemy I have read in a very long time.

I don't think that Israel was defending cheap empty buildings. They were preventing loss of lives and military structures. If those missiles had hit many residential buildings there would have been massive loss of lives.
They also had to protect military installations which makes if they were destroyed, would reduced their ability to launch an offense.

Also, the Ukraine example is more about asmetrical warfare. It's a system where a relatively cheap military hardware is used to take out a very expensive hardware. We saw tanks been destroyed by javelins in 2022 and 2023. It's not new.

Interceptor missiles are expensive because they have to track other missiles. Any miscalculation would cause it to miss.
I stand corrected. But there weapon costs in general are mpractical against modern adversaries. S-400 interceptors cost between $300,000-1,000,000 per round but with thaad, we're talking about $12-15 million dollars per shot. The Arrow costs $3 million. I don't care if they are is superior to the S-400, it is impractical and this war has prove that
Foreign AffairsRe: Russia-Ukraine War: World News, Weapons & Battlefield Discussions - Live by Crayfish09:
Hoaxen:
That depends on how you look at it.
Some people believe that lives and the ability to retaliate is worth millions of dollars while some might not think so.

The Israelis seem to think that it's worth it though. They say that the best defence is a good offence and you can't launch an offence if your adversaries takes you out in one go. So look at air defence as a means to buy time in order to retaliate.
Air defense is crucial, but using 30 million dollars to stop 1-3 million dollars from hitting an evacuated, possibly cheap building is unsustainable in modern warfare. They must find an alternative or they will be in hot soup soon. Refer to Ukraine and see. Several tanks worth hundreds of millions were smoked by <$100,000 Russian/Iranian drones.

You did not take into account the salary difference. If I earn 25k per month and you earn N50 per month the cost of shield repairs would be lower for me while the cost of acquiring rocks is higher for you.

Also note that there's nothing preventing me from buying rocks and also using against you. So I'll have a shield and rocks while you have only rocks.

Iran would find it difficult or nearly impossible to defend itself against Israeli air force if it doesn't do anything about Iraq. The Iraqi airspace is uncontested, a leeway for the IAF to rain missiles at a safer distance.

If the Iraqi government isn't complicit in this campaign then it must stop the IAF from it's airspace or the Iranians can move in and set up defenses.
True but I think mosf of the strikes in Tehran were carried out from within. If there's one thing I must concede, it's that Iran's intelligence is at slowpoke level
