Melvyn11:Was he recently arrested? |
Smellymouth:Maurizio done took so many L's---his name should Larri ![]() |
afrodoc2:Sancho ticks all the right boxes for me. He's English and home grown. Also signing him is guaranteed to piss City off ![]() Sancho, Rashford, Martial and Pogba running at you at the same time will make even the most dogged of defenders cringe and cower. I do not think 100M is to much, after all Ousmane Dembele with nearly the same skill-set went for 120 going to 140. If we could get Sancho, I think we are basically set for the next 8 years on attack. |
Really like the idea of seeing one of Tahith or Angel get involved against Crystal Palace. But we may have to be in a firm position of dominance to make their introductions much more feasible. |
afrodoc2:Really wish we could have a midfield consisting of Paul Pogba, Ander Herrera and Ruben Neves for maximal attacking potential. Ruben Neves and Paul Pogba both boast a fantastic passing range and the ability to drive forward and either supply the killer pass or unleash the ammunition themselves. We need a Matic replacement real soon. All I need to feel confident for a title challenge next season is a top class center back (Koulibaly should do nicely), a technically-gifted central midfielder very comfortable on the ball with a decent engine, a menacing left-footed attacker on the right and a defensively solid right back. I think we need 5 to 6 squad boosts to compete again. |
Was recently on a Manchester City forum and a core of their supporters believe our team tactics are in reality masterminded by Sir Alex and Mike Phelan. Some of them even asked for Manchester United to be investigated ![]() Is there an element of truth in their theory? Hmmm... |
dubylhover:Giuseppe Rossi is simply doing some fitness training with our squad in lieu of his next career move. It's a shame really. This guy was brilliant for Villareal a few seasons ago until an avalanche of injuries rendered him incapable of fulfilling his potential. Now he is a free agent and is looking towards actively playing football with again. As a family, United feels an obligation to its past servants and I think allowing him train with the squad is an act of class. Ferguson recently admitted being impressed by Rossi in training. |
Worst game since Ole took over. Expected though as we fielded some players that are Championship level at best. Darmian did pretty well today, I think. Was pretty good defensively and had a pretty impressive burst forward through the midfield to setup an attack (that was wasted). Considering the shift in position, did OK. Jones was well...Jones. Straight and simple. Fred was abominable. Had the first touch of a grade A level sėx offender and pretty poor spatial and general awareness. McTominay is suffering from positional confusion. This guy is/was a center forward at youth levels but within 6 months has played as a CM , DM and freaking center back. I guess that's what happens when you've got an imposing frame. Andreas Perreira needs to understand English football and the art of evading the press. Could get better with time but not terribly impressive today, I'm afraid. Juan Mata was not too good. Great player technically but shouldn't continue playing in a league as physically demanding as the Premier League within the next year. Alexis Sanchez had a decent game. Still needs to understand his team mates more. Chong was not that bad. Really wanted to impress like every young player but over did it. These minutes were important for his development though. Could still see some sparks of his talent but he's no magician that's for sure. Reactionary fans will spout negativity. Rashford should not have played today so won't rate him. Lukaku is on his make or break period. He might never get to the level a United striker should possess. At the moment he's "decent backup" at best. Happy for the three points. On to the Spurs game. |
I say, if we can't get Kalidou Koulibaly or Matthijs de Ligt, we get Akanji. Anyone who has watched him play this season will understand why he is rated highly. Mobile, really good with the ball at his feet and also pretty good at reading play and breaking up attacks with interceptions. Only negative in my opinion is that Dortmund may only sell for maga level prices being German Yahoo Boys and all. |
First thoughts about Adrien Rabiot on a free transfer. While he is comfortable with the ball at his feet, I don't think he'll be a really good fit for our team. Possesses suspect mentality and has way too much drama associated with his person. Also, I mean, what sort of man has his mum for an agent? A sissy if you ask me! But, then again probably thinks United are beneath him. Shouldn't be anywhere near our team especially if his arrival will upset our wage structure even further. I don't think he does anything Andreas Perreira is incapable of doing. Barca fans seem not to even be thrilled with the guy as a signing and even midget seems to be all invested in de Jong. We are better of investing prospective wages in: *. A midfield enforcer as a Matic replacement. Wilfred Ndidi or Tanguy Ndombele should fit in nicely. *. An intelligent, ball-playing, aerially dominant, cool-headed center back to keep us snug at the back. Kalidou Koulibaly or Matthijs de Ligt should really do well for this. |
Rashford was really good today. Energy, intensity, pace, guile, trickery & movement were top-notch. Just needs to perfect his one-on-one finishing and close quarters decision making process and we'll have a world class player on our hands. Pogba is world class. Succinctly put. Undisputed man of the match. Matic had a good game. Nice passing between lines and seemingly improved speed of thought. We've been brilliant at dangerous risky passing at the final third. Long may that continue. |
afrodoc2:Fosu-Mensah and Axel back (in our present situation) would be a comparable to a splash of crystal clear water from the everglades to a sojourner in the Atacama. It would be awesome to have center backs that can aid with actual ball distribution and not the P.T Barnum circus clowns we've got masquerading as CB's at the back. Mason looks really good for his age group. Love the touch, fluid languid movement and build up play. He plays the United way—keep it moving and never stop running at the opponent until they cower into submission. We'd do well to keep him, Tahith and Angel developing within the same unit while being tested against much more challenging opposition naturally. Can't wait to see our first game under Ole. Hoping the players put in a decent shift with no spectating. |
Ibime:True true, board-man no go need show. Last, last, shishi fit no reach anybody hand. Liverpool go knack Bayern and Spurs fit just go bottle up like Person wey chop Lotto for December. The kain eye wey I dey use look this bet, na only MoneyGram services go see chop here. Hoping for both Yeyeliga teams to hit the asphalt sha. |
Leyqute:It's typical of Saint Jose to choose his scape goats to be promptly put in the Golgothan way whenever mishaps occur in games. Perreira was overrun by an energetic, pressing Leicester City and Saint Jose summarily has him charged with treason and deposed to a long, inglorious spell on mahogany however, true to form, Saint Jose will allow Nemanja get away with anything from murder to s.odomy. Sometimes, I feel Jose is still vindictive about Andreas leaving on loan last season against his express orders, but I think the spell on the bench this season supports the assertion that Andreas chose correctly last summer. |
afrodoc2:The first team is definitely a no-fly zone for promising talent long as Saint Jose is running the clown fest that we've become in recent years. Great that we're actually keeping the ball on the turf and trying not to play hoofball with Marouane and Romelu. We could clearly see a couple of training moves being attempted as I could swear the little back heel from Matić to Dalot was pre-rehearsed and not spontaneous. I especially love the pressing and urgency of play from the last performance and I think we're better off with the ball hogs playing their roles as onlookers and spectators quite beautifully. Labilé especially could do with some reflection time since jailing him for the criminal performance against Southampton is not yet legal at the time. On to Valencia then. I'd love to see Andreas Perreira back in the mix. Boy is starting to get looks from hawkish outfits and I hope he doesn't end up as one of the lost boys in the exodus that may soon take place. |
neezar:So, we fit get Zidane as consolation bonus if we no win anything? Me likey ![]() |
afrodoc2:Decent player. I feel he'll settle to a position soon as it seems he's taking the Ramos route. After all, Sergio Ramos started as a 9, got converted to a right wing back and subsequently found his sweet spot as a center back. We'll see how it goes |
Won't be so quick to write the team of based on one preseason game. The essence of preseason is not to go on a winning spree---you could get key players injured if you play too competitively. Preseason matches are organised to calibrate fitness levels and fine tune tactical maneuvers. While the performance was largely non-descript, you'd have to be Graeme Souness to not notice some youth stars shining. Tahith Chong was fuchën awesome I think, keeping track of his touches, he only lost possession of the ball twice and that's exceptional for a talent his age. I also like the fact that he's left-footed while retaining decent use of his right leg. The sense of urgency in his approach to the game was also commendable, at least he is not a "wan kona merchant" like some. That cross though...was a relief to see good crossing from the right after having to seat through the shite-fest served by Sir Antonio last season |
Ibime:Even though I prefer Ronaldo, that night at Stamford bridge still brings chills to my spine. When I think about it, I make a sign of the cross and say "Allahu Akbar". The guile, the effortless demeanor with which that short niqqa went through the Chelsea defence akin to the swift movement of a searing hot blade through fresh marmalade. The boy just can't stop, won't stop attacking, I couldn't tell if his name was Lionel or P. Diddy! The fact that it took a concerted Italian job by Asier Del Horno and Jose Mourinho to end his night is a testament to the quality, the ruthless force of nature that was Lionel Messi. |
Nihilstjnr:That niqqa dodging a charge. The U.S. authorities are stalling on his visa. Something about an unsettled case with the Spanish government (tax shii). Me? I think it's cause that niqqa name Sanchez and Trump don't eff with y'all. |
diadem10:"When your money long, föol, you can even make Stacy dash if you want to" -- Cyhi da Prynce. It's impossible to hang around Neymar da Silva for any amount of time and not get a little cnutishness added to your personality. And for the wage part, I can't get mad at him, I mean it's a young nigga, 19 and everybody wants him. Apart from exorbitant wages (who won't fall for that maga money FFS) another factor that decided his PSG move is the fact that his playing time is guaranteed. We also can't discount the attractiveness of playing in your home city for a club you loved as a kid. I think all the greatest attacking players tend to add a little bit of arrogance to their play. It's merely an imposition of presence and an assertion of superiority. As long as you can match your arrogance with performance, you'll keep excelling at the highest levels |
diadem10:Baba, you too dey hate ![]() I remember Cristian Rodriguez sneaking him a punch for being sassy and impudent. He's a good kid though. |
ddippset:That's all correct. I'm yet to see a talisman that dropped 7/10 matches consecutively from the start to finish. Without your mates chipping in, you're fecked. However I feel referring to Ronaldo's actions during the 2016 Euro final as "cheerleading" is really deprecatory, I mean the man did not exactly signup for that really malicious tackle by Dimitry Payet and there were only two choices: retreat to the dressing room and potentially see all your work hitherto go up in flames...or stay on the ground and add a little bit of extra fire. He chose the latter and the rest is history. It's a fact that the psychology of achievement in football is of prime importance. I also don't think the final losses are down solely to Messi. Fortunately, he may still have a last chance. It's simple: you either do the job...or get your goddamn mates fired enough to do it for you. |
ddippset:Honestly, sometimes I feel Higuaín gets too much stick for those misses. Football is a funny sport, sometimes it's actually easier to hit a long range wonder into the back of the net than a seemingly easy tap-in. This is because, long rangers harness the element of surprise...and most times, you can simply aim at the keeper and let fly and something good may come. Tap ins are much harder sometimes. The seeming ease of scoring a tap in deceptively allows an attacker to throw his technique to the birds. Ironically, the fear of missing a tap in becomes the self fulfilling prophecy as you lose the tap in for real Eder scoring in a final doesn't mean he is better than Higuaín. |
raumdeuter:If the German league is so awesome, then where are the results? The Bundesliga is living off the glory of 2012/2013 and that league has since commenced on a long, slow but steady descent into mediocrity. Now their second and third representatives can't make the champions league knockouts. |
raumdeuter:Sane was mediocre and Bayern fans were on the neck of Karl Heinz Rummenigge to get him? We can all remember him putting a really above average performance against Real Madrid in the champions league. If anything, the only compromise I can surmise here was the problem of inconsistency which is perfectly normal with upcoming attackers |
raumdeuter:As previously mentioned, it's only so much a youngster at Schalke can do. Has little to do with the premier league being useless. By similar token, we could talk about how an unceremoniously discharged Kevin de Bruyne took the Bundesliga by storm winning the best player award with consistently outstanding displays. Maybe the Bundesliga is rubbish because an EPL castaway became God in the league....or maybe the player was good to begin with but needed an alignment of necessitators to achieve his optimum best. |
I think the Bundesliga will only have two starters in the final and those will be: Ante Rebic (Eintracht Frankfurt), and Benjamin Pavard (VFL Stuttgart). Andrej Kramaric (Hoffenheim) getting a start is not even too sure sef. Last last, Italian league go get more starters than Burndisleaguedown: Matuidi, Mandzukic (Juventus), Marcelo Brozovic, Ivan Perisic (Inter Milan), Ivan Strinic (Milan) French league sef go get Mbappé (Paris ST. Germain), Danijel Subasic (Monaco) |
raumdeuter:Hahaha, this man, you're funny .It's common knowledge that Leroy Sane was one of Europe's hottest prospects and he was going to make the transition to a bigger club eventually. In fact, from that interview he did, it's clearly evident that the reason he left the Bundesliga is due to Saint Pep's project and the thrill for conquest that you can't get playing in a mediocre one horse league like the Bundesliga. I don't see how Sane leaving a mid table German club to go to an English top profile club with an exciting new project is a reflection of German superiority. It's baffling to say the least. |
raumdeuter:Sane and Firmino play in the EPL for Manchester City and Liverpool respectively, with both being high-profile clubs. In the Bundesliga, they played for Schalke 04 and Bayer Leverkusen respectively. These clubs I just mentioned are the English Premier League equivalent of Everton and Southampton respectively. Will Sane and Firmino boss the league playing for Everton and Southampton? Niqqa, I guess not. As a matter of fact, Firmino is not even the second best attacker in his club, yet he is "bossing" the league. The contortionism on display can put a calisthenics maestro to shame. |
While we are at it, don't let the misery of a certain German derail from the facts. 1. EPL goalkeeper 2. 75% EPL central back roster (Kompany, Vertonghen, Aldeirwereld) 3. 67% EPL midfield roster (Fellaini and Chadli) 4. 100% EPL attack (Lukaku, Hazard, De Bruyne) 5. 100% EPL management (Roberto Martinez as manager, Thierry Henry as strikers coach) No burn-this-league-down rag heads present...and boy are Belgium lovin' it like Mickey d's. |
Ronaldo leaving will alter the dynamics of Spanish top flight competition significantly. With no rallying point (Hazard or Neymar are not even close to being reliable) going into the season and a resurgent Barcelona team on the rise (if the Blaugrana clowns get their act right), I see Real Madrid heading into the wilderness once more. On the other hand, Juventus gain a really marketable superstar and the Serié A gains considerable viewership traction. We'll see what happens next. |
