if u must wash..i did advice you do a manual/hand washing....though i feel washing the engine is totally unnecessary as many people hv had their engines damaged cos of water affecting certain engine componenets...note a dirty engine doesnt affect engine performance. note: clean ur engine air filter thoroughly, periodically..thats one of the things that would affect engine performance n fuel consumption if its dirty |
i hv reattached the police extract again. |

yes..even an suv!!!.the problem is most nigerians like buying cheap cars...without understanding that the money u think u r saving by buying a cheap/flooded/salvage/junk car...u will still put it back and more along the line..i used an suv for more than 4 years...n for the first 18months..it was only oil i changed!!..........though within the 4 yrs i changed the tierods/brake pads and later shock and tires. the point am making i..i bought a clean ride from the usa..thus all vehicle was upto date in maintainace...unlike if u buy a nigerian used car or a cheap knock off from cotonu/lagos......so guys stop going the el cheapo route!! |

get the camry pencil light......the major reoccuring maintaince in mordern cars is just oil change.....n if u r techy..u cud do it urself.......avg oil price is 3k, [visco 2000, mobil xhp etc, filter say 1k, 100 naira for vulcanizer to blow clean ur engine air filter if necesary......change the oil every 45days or 1500miles, which ever comes first...so u spend less than 5k every 1.5months..the extra change u r saving could be used to solve any major problem that might come up...n if u r careful/buy a good average mileage well maintained car...the only things u might be changing could be the brake pads/shock absorber/tie rods and ball joints/tires etc |
i could hv helped u buy it..i import parts from the usa, but am in ph..so what u could do is ..some other nairalanders import n sell parts from usa..like inspiredman/siena etc...u cud contact them n let them buy for u, as they r in lagos |

4 bedroom twin duplex on 50ft by 100ft plot of land..pls show me designs that u hv |
have the car scanned!!!.........a scan will say if the car is misfiring or not..or any other hidden problem |
r u techincal?..u can check the sensors urself......unplu it from the harness and use a multimeter to read the terminals..it has 4 wires 1 pair is the actual sensor, while the other pair is the heaster circuit...its the heater circuit that usually fails....so the semi ignorant mechanic just checks n says the sensor is ok, without really knowing what they r doing!!!!!.......they told me the same thing when i had a bad oxygen sensor on my car..they fiddled with it, n after a while told me that the sensor is ok....when i insisted they said OGA UR CAR STILL MOVES, CONTINUE DRIVING IT LIKE THAT..NO WORRY URSELF!.......i insisted and scanned the car...the scan told me the exact sensor that was bad..[since my car has 4 sensors], i even went to toyota place n they didnt hv the sensor........i imported the sensor from usa and changed it out...n the check engine light is off.....those sensors usually fail after about 100k miles..so be prepared to change all of them...cos they usually fail 1 after the other, once the reach the service ceiling/life |
ok cool u r enlightened.......thats correct........if u r using synthtic oil the manual recommends 5k miles or 6months...which ever comes first, but to be on the safe side.....i do 4k miles or 4months...which ever comes first |
this is a 13yr old car..i wudnt say its problematic...though it appears the parts r a bit pricey. 4 or 5 months for service appears too long to me...........what type of oil do you use?..and what distance do u drive in that period?..i mean distance in miles?. most of the troubles people have with cars in nigeria is usually out of ignorance n then going to ignorant mechanics........... |
change the sensor first..sensors are cheap less than $60.....but remeber to erase the chk engine light first..ecu faults dont give the symtoms that ur car is giving |
shine ur eyes well well..buying online is a lil risky..its better u hv some1 on ground to inspect n ship the car for you..also the price is too cheap for a clean 2006 maxima!........its either accidented/salvage /junk.....no wahala with that if the car selllers fully disclose that to u..and u are ready to fix the problems it might hv |
