Atiku's Leadership Of The Economic Management Team: Oby Ezekwesili Lied - Dr Oche Otorkpa

It was Caesar J. B. Squitti who said that "Human half-truth logic, dates back to Adam and Eve, when he tried to deceive God with a truth, 'we knew we were naked so we hid', leaving God to understand that something was wrong with Adam's logic, because if Adam knew THE TRUTH, he would know that you can't hide from God.

Few days ago, Mrs Oby Ezekwesili failed in an attempt to rewrite history when she joined the league of political hirelings who myopically think that embarrassing H.E Atiku Abubakar with false claims can prevent him from becoming President.

In a tweet posted on her handle, she claimed that Atiku was never the Head of the Economic Management Team as Vice President from 1999-2007. That tweet on its own clearly shows that the woman is either suffering from amnesia or had no idea of what the Nigerian constitution says, if not madam "empirical evidence" would have simply looked at what the constitution says and stop trying to make a fool of herself.

The National Economic Council (NEC) is established by the provisions of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999, as amended; Section 153(1) and Paragraphs 18 & 19 of Part I of the Third Schedule.

For the sake of those she misled with that whimsical tweet, here is what the Nigerian constitution expressly says about economic management in Nigeria:

Part 1 of third Schedule, paragraphs 18 and 19 of 1999 Nigerian Constitution, as amended, states that there shall be National Economic Council which shall comprise the following members –

(a) the Vice-President who shall be the Chairman; the Governor of each State of the Federation; and the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria and this Council shall have power to advise the President concerning the economic affairs of the Federation, and in particular on measures necessary for the coordination of the economic planning efforts or economic programmes of the various Governments of the Federation.

Madam ‘beggar with receipt’ can quietly support her tribal candidate without spewing half truths and manipulated facts. Atiku led the economic management team from 1999 till 2007, that team included the current Director-General of the World Trade Organization Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, who successfully renegotiated and paid off Nigeria’s entire debt with the Paris Club before the current disaster's in government plunged our unborn children into the biggest debt trap in the history of our country with over ₦70 trillion in debts hanging over our necks.

On the leadership of the economic management team, these were the exact words of Atiku:

“I’m not a messiah. I do not promise Eldorado or $1 = N1, but I always ask that we should look at the economic progress we made under my leadership and what I am doing in private business and judge me by those. As VP, I assembled what is arguably the best economic team ever in Nigeria. It was made up of young, world-class professionals, who came home to work. Some of those professionals are now political leaders, governors and world leaders in their own right.” – Atiku Abubakar.

Thanks to those patriotic efforts, men and women like Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Mr. Kekere Ekun, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, Bode Augusto, Ms Ifueko Omoigui and other first class professionals were invited to help grow the Nigerian economy.

Fortunately, many of those in that team are still alive today, and will speak shortly on how Atiku assembled them and the contributions they made for the advancement of the nation's economy.

No amount of mud slinging can stop a man whose time has come, H.E Atiku and Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa represents Nigeria's best chance of coming out of the economic doom it has been thrown into by the directionless APC government.

Casting your vote for Peter Obi like Madam Oby and her cohorts are promoting is tantamount to voting for APC because even Peter himself knows he is not going anywhere in next month's Presidential election.

To whom brain is given, sense is required. May God Help Us to Help Ourselves On the 25th of February 2023.

Dr. Oche Otorkpa (FRSPH-UK)

Dino there's no point replying wike. Wike is depressed and disillusioned after he taught he can use money to buy everybody in pdp like the way he has bought over inec, judiciary and police in Rivers state but thanks and I repeat big thanks to Aminu Tambuwal for stopping him. God bless you , you stopped a sensible dictator from becoming president. Imagine wike talking about betrayal, equity and fairness. Dark pot calling kelltle black. After betraying Amaechi, betraying mama peace and ijawa that made him Governor he has mouth to talk about betrayal. Talking about equity , was it the turn of ikwerres in 2015 to be Governor. Power should have shifted to the riverine area or at best he should have done just one tenure but now he wants atiku to do one term forgetting his a product and promoter of such injustice and inequality.
A man talking about wickedness, please what is more wicked than owning pensioners for 7 years using their money to campaign to be presidential candidate. For 7 years no single employment, Bobo juice 5000 jobs. No promotion in civil service but you can dash 500 million to Sokoto and cross rivers state.
God is truly merciful.
Wike you are heartless and wickedness. May you continue to be betrayed even by g5 governors. You will see depression and heart ache until you beg Rivers people for forgiveness.

Atiku I want you to win so wike will be depressed more. No peace for the wicked.
God bless Nigeria!

With the exception of Oyo State, the other states under G5 Governors are likely to be won by Peter Obi due to obvious reasons. So it won't be surprise if they endorse Peter Obi to go with the flow. But their decision may not have any earth-shaking effect. Nigerians are not zombies.

Whatever happens, it will be interesting to follow Nyesom Wike 'matters' post 2023 elections. It might be a little movie-like. cool

Generally speaking, Peter Obi has a large percentage enlightened young Nigerians as his support-base across Nigeria. However, my fear is the rural communities across Nigeria given that there will be both Senatorial and HoR elections on the same day as Presidential Election Day. PDP and APC have most of these Senate and HoR candidates who are popular and well-entrenched politicians in their constituencies. They are already known to the rural communities. They have established foot soldiers. And more often than not, they are communal benefactors or of some sorts. They will campaign vigorously for their parties’ logos, making it difficult for illiterate voters who will be given three ballot papers to sort out and vote for LP’s Presidential candidate after voting other party's candidates. Unfortunately, Peter Obi is not helping matters as he is not supporting LP candidates across Nigeria. They are on their own with insufficient resources to match the other parties.

Lastly, Tinubu’s campaign slogans are top of the range. You would have serious rheumatism not to dance to his Christmas themed song. Just saying! grin

of course, that's the only thing structures can do now and how efficient is that? It won't make any significant difference.
I will tell you why:

1. Having money to bribe voters is one thing, mobilizing these money and making sure it gets to every potential seller on election is not as straightforward as you think. There are a lot of stumbling blocks.

2. These structure you talk about are more fficient at bribing INEC officers on their way to collation center to swap results. Which has now been weakened with the real-time e-transmission. This form of rigging is the easiest because it helped evade the whole struggle of having to find and buy every votes.

3. There no incident form anymore, its going to be hard to manipulate figures in such way that the voting fgiures will outweigh accredited voters.

I agree with you that structure can buy votes, the question is, how efficient will that turn out?

This is why I am very sure that Peter Obi will do well, you can out-buy the will of majority.

Oga stop stressing yourself.

Politics is nor economics or book intelligence

If you don't spend money or work hard for it you don't win.

Obi will NOT win!

The only structure PDP has in Southeast is in the hand of G-5 governors.

Structures only work when you can loot ballot boxes and over thumbprint ballot paper. This time, BVAS has limited that and Atiku is left with convincing the people of southeast.

You people seem stuck in the pasp, there was an electoral reform that will affect everything but someone you seem to be totally unaware of it.

What are you expecting all these so called structures to do now, bribe people into posting fake results on inec server?
What do you think this structure can do?

They will bribe people to vote their candidates. People are hungry and looking for urgent 5k..

Travel to the villages and see for yourself. You have a job doesn't mean the man in the village has and will reason like you. G_5 Governors some will work with Atiku. Politics is a game if deciet . How can Atiku get 25% in Enugu, Imo, Ebonyi, Anambra and Abia. How?
Going by your logic, two are APC states, 2 are G-5 governors and the last one is Obi's state.

Lets reason now, Atiku cannot secure 25% for so many reasons from SE. He can't even get 25% in SE either, he can get them from some SS states.
This election is going into a rerun.

Pdp has structures. Those structures feed people monthly for 8 years with monthly payment. Does Labour have such? Imagine where you dey work or hustle and some one is coming to block or stop the chopping? If na you , you go allow them. That's politics in the rural areas.

Stop deceiving yourself. Labour party rally in Rivers state should give you indication how the south south will reject obi. South south hates ibos because of the Biafra war they have ot forgotten. Also obi won't get up to 10% in any north west and northeast state.

Atiku had a very successful rally in anambra and soludo being a former pdp man will deliver for Atiku

As for the south west do you expect the yoruba man to reject Tinubu.
South east no reject anambra man then expect yoruba man to reject his own brother. Keep dreaming

Currently, none of the candidates has sure path to 25% in 24 states.

Obi looks set to win popular votes . . . asides other NC, SE, SS states in OBi's pouch, a win in Lagos (yes, Obi will win Lagos), massive win in Rivers and Akwa Ibom states would ensure that!

There are no KKK states in the bag for anyone like
