Elon Musk, the owner of X, also took the opportunity to troll Meta, his social media rival, over the outage.

Twitter owner, Elon Musk has mocked Meta platforms Facebook and Instagram after it experienced techinical issues.

The incident happened on Tuesday.

Millions of users had complained about logging errors while accessing the social media platforms.

According to Downdetector.com, the disruptions began not long ago, with more than 300,000 reports of outages for Facebook and about 40,000 reports for Instagram.

Although the cause of the issues remains unclear, Andy Stone, the spokesperson of Meta, the parent company of both platforms, disclosed that they are aware of the problem.

“We’re aware people are having trouble accessing our services. We are working on this now,” Stone wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

Many Facebook and Instagram users have visited X to express their frustration while some taunted Meta.

Eulogising the late general for exemplary life worthy of emulation she had lived, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Toareed Lagbaja said she would be missed.

The late Major General Aderonke Kale (retd.), the first female officer to attain such a rank, has been laid to rest at St James Anglican Church in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, in the South West region of Nigeria.

The late female Major General Kale died on November 8, 2023 at the age of 84.

Eulogising the late general for exemplary life worthy of emulation she had lived, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Toareed Lagbaja said she would be missed.

Represented by the Commander, Corps of Signal, Major General Gbeminga Adesina, the Army Chief said that the demise of Late General Kale was a great loss to the Nigerian Army and the country at large.

According to him, the late general was committed and dedicated to the service of the Nation which she served and rose in rank in the Nigerian Army.

The Service of songs and tribute night was held on 16 January 2024 at Admiralty Conference Centre, Victoria Island Lagos, while the wake keep was held at Chapel of the Resurrection Hall, University of Ibadan.

In attendance at the burial were the General Officer Commanding, 2 Division, Nigerian Army and other Senior Officers and Commanders of the Nigerian Army.

According to him, Christianity and Islam are premised in the present, therefore, those with bank accounts and savings won’t make heaven because they don’t believe that Jesus is coming “now” by saving for the future.

Kuti, a self-proclaimed “juju” worshipper said most Nigerians would make heaven because they are poor and only 48 million out of the over 200 million Nigerians have bank accounts.

Speaking in the latest episode of the Spill With Phyna podcast, the singer said: “When people tried to preach to me, ‘Oh Seun, you’ve to give your life to Christ.’ I always ask them this particular question: ‘Do you have a bank account? “Because to believe in Jesus Christ is not to believe in a man or a personality. There are doctrines behind it. You must believe in the death and resurrection. Christianity and Islam are religions of now, the immediate. Everything is based on the premise that everything will end now: Jesus Christ is coming now. If you don’t believe that Jesus Christ is coming now then you’re not a real Christian. But all of you that believe Jesus Christ is coming now, you now have bank accounts for tomorrow? You’re saving for tomorrow. That means you don’t believe Jesus Christ is coming now.

“Poor people are the ones that will go to heaven. That’s what it means. In Nigeria, it’s only 48 million Nigerians that have bank accounts. The government revealed this during COVID-19 when Nigerians were agitating for stipend to be paid to their accounts as palliatives. Lift (2024) Hollywood Movie Review

“Lift” is as generic and forgettable as its title, the kind of glossy, empty action picture that Netflix just keeps pumping out, whether we need it or not. It’s not as aggressively glib as “Red Notice,” for example, but rather is more in line with “The Gray Man”: Competently made and star-studded, with a couple of intriguing ideas, but hollow.

Veteran director F. Gary Gray has made better action movies in the past (“Set It Off,” “The Italian Job”) and will likely do so again. Like so many films before it, “Lift” is about an eclectic collection of con artists trying to pull off a seemingly impossible heist. That premise offers some pleasures, especially as the assignment becomes increasingly complicated. But there’s so little to the characters in the screenplay from Daniel Kunka that it’s difficult to care whether they get away with it, and the special effects look so detached from reality that it often feels like we’re playing a video game.

A group of seasoned, high-tech thieves must steal a half billion dollars' worth of gold bars from a commercial airliner flying from London to Zurich. Their leader is Kevin Hart’s Cyrus, whom we see at the film’s start robbing a high-end art auction in Venice. This is the kind of movie that gooses its globetrotting with shiny aerial shots of European destinations: Venice, London, Brussels. They all kind of run together. Hart deviates from his fast-talking, flabbergasted persona here, which is welcome. But in positioning him as a roguish, romantic lead, “Lift” doesn’t give him anything interesting to do instead.

Cyrus has some sort of past with the Interpol agent who’s tailing his crew, Gugu Mbatha-Raw's Abby Gladwell. The two share some awkward flirtation and not much chemistry. Upon orders from her boss (“Avatar” star Sam Worthington, who gets to be Australian for once), Abby reluctantly recruits Cyrus and his team to steal the gold, which wealthy bad-guy Jean Reno is transferring to a terrorist group to create disasters from which he can profit afterward. Don’t worry if it doesn’t make sense: The whole point is to set up a reason for these people to get together and do some elaborate mid-air stunts. Each person has a specific job—Camila (Úrsula Corberó) is the pilot, Mi-Sun (Yun Jee Kim) is the hacker, Denton (Vincent D’Onofrio) is the master of disguise, and so on—and that’s all there is to them. They sit around and make fun of each other in high-rise condos and warehouses where the bright, flat lighting is always the same and the banter strains to be enjoyably breezy. Billy Magnussen is the one exception as the safecracker, Magnus; he’s doing something delightfully goofy here that’s reminiscent of Brad Pitt in “Burn After Reading.” It’s as if he’s in a totally different movie, and one that you’ll wish you were watching instead.


But then so much of what constitutes the thrills and excitement of “Lift” are blandly zippy editing tricks: sped-up sequences, zooms and montages. After a while, we can only watch so many fistfights on airplanes. They grow repetitive and wearisome, as does the film as a whole. Then again, perhaps “Lift” is best enjoyed while you’re on a flight yourself, with nothing better to do and a need for something mindless to pass the time.

NCC Announces Barred On Glo Subscribers From Calling MTN Lines

The Nigerian Communications Commission has revealed that Globacom subscribers may be unable to make calls to MTN lines soon.

NCC said this is due to the non-settlement of interconnect charges.

NCC disclosed this on Monday in a public notice signed by Director, Public Affairs Department, Reuben Muoka.

It stated that the commission granted partial approval for the disconnection of Globacom from MTN Nigeria Communications Plc.

The notice partly reads, “Globacom was notified of the application made by MTN and was given the opportunity to comment and state its case.

“The Commission, having examined the application and circumstances surrounding the indebtedness, determined that Globacom does not have sufficient or justifiable reason for non-payment of the interconnect charges.”

The NCC revealed that at the expiration of 10 days from the date of this notice, “subscribers of Globacom will no longer be able to make calls to MTN but will be able to receive calls.”

It added, “The partial disconnection, however, will allow in-bound calls to the Globacom network.”

Speaking on the creation process of the song in the latest episode of the Bootleg Kev podcast, Messia praised Burna Boy’s “insane” talent.

He stated that Burna Boy doesn’t write in the studio, adding that he did his verse off freestyling.

Singer Lil Frosh Countersues Yhemolee, Seeks N500M in Damages for Alleged Assault, Asserts Stance Against Bullying to Silence


Nigerian singer, Lil Frosh has slammed a N500m lawsuit on nightlife enthusiast and socialite, Yhemolee over alleged assault.

It all started after Lil Frosh alleged that he recently had an encounter with Yhemolee, who slapped him at a recent event.

Lil Frosh also announced in a subsequent post that Yhemolee should be held responsible if anything happens to him.

In reaction to this, Yhemolee disclosed that he has been receiving multiple death threats from random people after he was falsely accused by the singer.

The socialite stated that he is innocent of all charges brought against him by Lil Frosh and filed a lawsuit against the singer, demanding N200m in damages.

Lil Frosh has now responded by filing his own lawsuit, demanding N500m in damages.

Captioning his lawyer’s statement, which he shared on his Instagram story, Lil Frosh wrote: “Here is my response to @yhemo_lee Demand letter. I refuse to be bullied to silence.”

He was arrested after a show promoter allegedly used his name to defraud people

Revealing the ordeal via his Instagram story, the singer said he was arrested because a show promoter, Brave T.Tey, allegedly defrauded people using his name.

The ‘Ozana’ crooner wrote: “Accumulatively collected over 10 million naira from different people! They came to arrest me for money I had no idea about because of this @brave_t.tey. Oloshi oloriburuku! Naso people dey enter wahala wey no be their own oo.”
